212 VIP Black Extra

Okay so this is my first review in a while. The reason for that is about two weeks ago I contracted COVID! Luckily everything is ok, but I experienced something I had no idea was so severe with COVID, the complete and utter loss of taste and smell. I'd heard that it happened but I had absolutely no idea how severe and awful it was to experience this!!! Especially as a fragrance enthusiast. I found myself longing for fragrances in my collection that I couldn't even get a wiff of up close. Only 3 fragrances in my collection were strong enough to smell, MFK OUD EXTRAIT, MFK OUD SATIN MOOD, and Dior H'omme Parfum. Out of those Oud Satin Mood is definitely the strongest. But despite me having a pretty large collection, I really only found myself missing two fragrances specifically. One was Oud Satin Mood, once again. This is the other one. There's just something about the cola note in this fragrance along with the lavender they use, and the other hodgepodge of synthetic notes, that makes this fragrance very, VERY hard to dislike. It's super synthetic like I said, but damn it smells good. If I were to wager a guess at how Paco Rabanne's new fragrance Phantom smelled it would be something close to this one. I'm sure it won't be long before I do smell it, but it's the synthetic nature of this fragrance that makes me feel that way. However it's that same synthetic nature that caused me to miss this smell more than many other more expensive, much more natural smelling fragrances in my collection. So, whatever works I guess. Even avid fragrance collectors should smell this at least once. I've yet to come across anything else quite like it, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have a bottle of the original version on the way now, but I also ordered another one of these as I've already gone through the first 100ml bottle of it and in less than 9 months too! They are saying it is a limited edition, if so you better get it while you can.

I love this fragrance. It's a leathery Coca-Cola with rum and spices. It just works on clubs and casual dates scenarios. Not too sweet, not too spicy, a little bit powdery of the cocoa, just the right amount of everything, that's why I love it. A good 8-10 hours of longevity and a good moderate sillage. The quality of the ingredients are good for the price. It's a mass appealing easy to like fragrance, just works well but quite unique bc of the Coca-Cola leather combination. I really would buy a couple of backup bottles but nowadays it's very hard to find online so, if you find this in your local store buy it. 8.9/10

That cola note is mouth watering!

I was very excited to receive this perfume, but after trying it I was very disappointed, call me crazy, but I really don't feel the difference between this perfume and the normal VIP black, for a second I thought that I had been sold a fake perfume, after reviewing well I realized that is not the case, is just how this extra VIP is. If you already own the VIP black, it really is not at all necessary that you buy this.

Almost the same as 212 vip party. But with and additional slightly note of coca cola.

The concept of private parties and VIP guest lists continues, and this time the focus was on paying tribute to Voguing nights, a very popular dance style from the ’70s, in the balls of New York City, that tells a story of attitude and difference, matching with that of the brand founder. Still talking about Voguing, the ad campaign video shows, as a backdrop, a bit of that style. But if you want to understand the root of the movement, I suggest watching the TV series called Pose, launched in 2018 by FX. 212 VIP Black Extra is the result of the joint work of Carlos Benaim and Juliette Karagueusoglou. Its fragrance brings notes of grapefruit and cuba libre accord (rum and cola), at the top of the olfactory pyramid, generating a citrus and alcoholic accord. Then, the body comes with notes of black leather and lavender, plus the touch of moss, creating a fougère accord. Finally, the base has notes of cocoa and musk, resulting in an almost gourmand accord. 212 VIP Black Extra carries well the title of a flanker, maintaining the predecessor's DNA. But one thing is missing: as both versions are Eau de Parfum, it is more difficult to notice a significant difference, as in cases where the variation, usually EDP, is released later than the original, usually EDT. Another negative point, in my opinion, is the insistent continuity of an olfactory signature that has remained in recent times and which, no matter how much it sells, cannot be guaranteed solely on the demand that the terms “limited edition” bring. Regarding the fragrance, 212 VIP Black Extra has a very similar opening to the previous version but seems more tamed. However, within minutes, it is easier to notice the differences between the aniseed accord from before and the Cola nuances of the current version. If you have already smelled the plastic screw cap of a cola soda (I will not name it), which has been forgotten on the table after a while, you will notice the same smell in the initial combo of this perfume. Over time, this version becomes denser and sensual, thanks to the leather. Once again, lavender seems to have come in just to bring an aromatic facet, which is very common to men's fragrances, but nothing that deserves great attention. And by the way, cocoa was the big hit in creating this fragrance. But beware: don't expect to find anything like Gaultier's Kokorico style. In short, I think that the fragrances are similar, but with a small evolutionary differential: both are aimed at night use, but the 2017 version is more attractive for hot nights, while the 2019 version is better on cold nights. Still, I ratify what I said before and I would put this fragrance in the non-innovative category. It is like in the phrase: "You must know when to stop." The bottle retained its visual identity and gained a titanium color gradient, but set aside the frontal metallic inscription that, in particular, I wish they had not removed it. If you ask me what is my choice for those who do not know both versions and can only afford one, I would say 212 VIP Black. But right now, my anxiety makes me cheer for something completely different in an upcoming release within this line. I can only wait...

Not good. The notes on paper sound great, but they clash and scream so loud that you really can't make out anything unique or enjoyable. The Lavender and Moss give this a cheap aquatic feeling with bitter sweet notes. I can't really detect the leather at all. I advise you to not buy into the rum and coke. It's a cash grab.

I still don't understand that they want us to believe that this fragrance is an eau de parfum, its projection is like an eau de cologne, terrible! I don't know where the Coca-Cola note is because I only perceive cocoa, rum and some very artificial note that hurts my nose. Its sillage is non-existent, you have to stick the nose to your wrist to be able to perceive it (even if you use a lot oficial sprays), its longevity is also short, about 3 hours and being generous. I don't really understand this release...

I have 212 vip Black and have enjoyed wearing that. Smelled this new “Black extra” today in duty free. It definitely reminds me of the regular vip Black, I got the cacao note for sure. Then I smelled the original vip Black to compare and to me this one was so much sexier that vip black. Bought a bottle of this and I’m looking forward to getting to know this scent better

212 Black Extra is the fragrance that crowns them all. Out of my entire collection, this is my girlfriend’s clear favorite — and by a wide margin. To her, it is the sexiest party scent, most atractive scent a man can wear. To me, it is a masterpiece, sad its be discontinued. a fragrance that feels both timeless and irreplaceable. ❤ 10/10

Got it today - I think it's a mix between Ultra Male and 1 Million mixed with a low quality Coke! You can also smell the cocoa a little bit. So if you own at least ultra male it's a redundant purchase, since Ultra Male has the better performance too. All in all it's a scent for the younger crowd <25

My first time smells this at Hong Kong The first 4 hours, you'll be the bestest smelling man on this earth. Longevity and projection are good,about 8 hours. The concept of private parties and VIP guest lists, a PARTY BANGER !! 10/10

Just bought a 100ml bottle yesterday, very similar to the original vip black, but heavier and less fresh, I personally love it :) wearing it today to the office <3

This smells like women's cosmetics. It lasts long but the question is - can you take smelling like makeup? Lol.

Why don't clone house replicate this scent instead of pumping many angel share or aventus dupes?
