Bad Boy Cobalt Absolute

Was shooting out some frags yesterday, and ended up coming away with this one. Big fan of Bad Boy Extreme in the winter time, so I wanted to see what the brand had to offer for slightly warmer times or just being more versatile in general, most everything else I've seen from CH has moderate longevity ratings, so I've been waiting for something with overall a long lasting rating her before grabbing it, so this was the one. I dig this. It seems to get a bit of hate here, sure, its generic, its pretty standard, but for me, I wasn't looking to get blown away, I just had some extra cash to burn, and wanted to throw another frag at the almost 80 I currently own. Lol. Of all the stuff at Sephora, this seemed to hit the nail for me yesterday. Opening has a nice blue frag feel to it, somewhat uniquely, more like the base of almost all the Bad Boy frags, but with a nice lavender, definitely not a blue feel in the typical citrussy opening way, but it has the feel of wanting to sit with other blue frags out there. Middle defintiely adds a slightly earthy type of touch while still having a freshness with the florals and opening notes all combining together, it all gets tied together with a classic almost overused vanilla base, but again, this definitely has similarities to all the other Bad Boy flankers, but it would be nice to see some of these designer brands branch a little further away from the vanilla. It seems to be pretty much everywhere right now. I don't complain though, this juice is pretty damn good. I enjoy the smell and it suits the frags I enjoy pretty well anyway so I got what I wanted out of it. Longevity and sillage seem to be a bit decpetive on the first wear. I believe to a degree I'm going anosmic to the smell pretty quickly, as even after spraying it seems somewhat faint pretty fast. Yet 8 hours after applying this, I get out of work and I'm standing in a line at the gas station, and I could absolutely smell it coming off of me still. Definitely seems like one of those frags either my nose needs to learn how to pick it out, or my nose just wants it gone and forces it away as quick as it can. Lol. The sillage isn't anything monsterous, I'd say its definitely more moderate than anything else, though maybe a little over moderate all in all. Biggest reason I grabbed this is due to wanting to have another frag that I could kinda use as a lazy grab during any season, anytime, and I can't lie, this seems to fit that bill rather perfectly actually so I'm eager to get some wearings of this in and see how each season treats it!

Think cobalt and 212 vip elixir had a baby, this is excellent, i dont understand the notion of a fragrance having to be unique to be good, this is a sweet, vanilla, earthy, fresh frag, its like the smell of the earth and soft sweet woody vanilla in the best way possible, makes me think of a clean airy day in yellowstone, i smelled it and it gave me a memory of a day i spent there, between the trees with the dirt beneath my feet, its like a brisk morning in late spring that smells of earth, trees, with a sweet vanilla undertone, for me this is big bottle worthy. Safe to say i am a big fan. That being said don’t go and blind buy it because of what i think. Edit: bought it today march 27, 2026 Still in LOVE with this fragrance its truly great. Ignore the review bombing and TRY it FOR YOURSELF, fragrances are an extension of you, and what YOU love, so try it first and then decide, no one likes a 150$ blind buy fail.

I found it at my local Douglas and was a bit surprised that it was available to test. I’m a big fan of the Cobalt line in general, and to me this feels like a sweeter, woodier version of the original. The OG was fresh-sweet, while Elixir leaned more sweet and earthy. Absolute feels like a combination of the two with warmth touch in the drydown. If you’re expecting a drastic deviation from Elixir, you may be disappointed. The plum note stays mostly in the background, though it becomes noticeable from time to time. This is definitely a fall/winter scent, but because the vanilla sits right in the center and isn’t overly sweet, it’s versatile enough to be worn in spring as well. With the right number of sprays, it can even work in an office setting. If Elixir felt too earthy for you, this might be the better option. Overall, it’s a very nice scent and one that will definitely be added to my collection.

I tried this one a few times before buying, and ended up going for the full bottle. The original Cobalt was nice, but I didn’t like how the pepper came across. The one smells fantastic. You get a nice sweet opening, which is prominent for the first hour or so, but then that vanilla starts to come in and adds some smoothness to it. Deep into the dry down the woods really start coming through and stick around for the remainder. Overall really nice with some surprising progression. Projection is strong for the first hour and then it has a nice sillage for the next 4. After that it’s still detectable but close to skin. I personally love it.

This is a more versatile version of Elixir. Also maybe a touch of the original Cobalt. I would get a bottle, but I think it is too redundant since I own Elixir. I love Elixir - I just find it is difficult wear. It's kind of one of those rainy fall day type of scents. Absolute solves that issue.

This fragrance opens with a sweet blue rasberrry candy like scent then it dries down to a fresh masculine lavender. It’s a perfect year round fragrance. I love it but u need to be close to a person for them to smell it and it doesn’t last long on skin but i still love it it’s my fav fragrance

A sweeter Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir, have to say I quite like this, earthy opening with a tinge of sweetness. It’s nothing groundbreaking, it gets the job done. Projection and Longevity is good on me, I get around 8 hours of projection, can still smell it on my skin the following day.

Why do these other companies try to get people to go on here and talk bad an vote negatively about another brands product? And before it’s even released for everyone to try? Can’t wait to try it! Who’s voting this as a female smell? Haha you guys are stupid!

This is my favorite Cobalt yet. A little warmer and darker with that cobalt DNA still. Smells more mature but also more unique compared to the other two. I’m definitely going to grab a second bottle of this.

I bought the travel size version, I hate the bottles from this line. It’s so awful. Damn shame this amazing juice has the worst bottle and atomizer I’ve experienced.

3.79 rating? Think this deserves at least a 4.25 on fragrantica. Not overly sweet, very smooth and balanced. this juice is gonna rip mid fall.

This receives way too much hate. It is a great fragrance with lots of depth that I am choosing over the others any day of the week.

Smells like aromatic vanilla body wash or cream, fresh and versatile, basically a "blue" vanilla shower gel!

Denser, sweeter, woodier version of the original cobalt. Doesn't smell like elixir to me, which is actually less sweet and cleaner smelling - elixir being my favorite of the three. But, absolute will grow on you the more tou wear it. It actually does have a bit of a development throughout the wearing experience, rare for a mid range designer. All in all, it's a heavier sweeter cobalt. There are some nice nuances there, with the earthy truffle and clean woody "oud" accord. Maintains a slight clean soapiness, which pops up during wearing but it's pretty dense and sweet. Cool spring, fall, winter frag. Leans youthful but middle aged wearable if you cap to 4 sprays. Very casual. No go for summer heat. All in all, it's nice. I enjoy it. Elixir is the best cobalt, to me. This would take third after the original but it's close. Surprisingly, despite the cheesy bottles and corny vibe the line gives off - its a rare designer blue line that I actually enjoy. All three.

received a few samples of fragrances 'for men' and figured what the heck. this is pleasant, kind of soothing and powerful at the same time. I've worn this a few times now, and like it quite a bit. even so, there's something that keeps me from falling head over heels for this (probably lavender or vetiver). could see myself getting a headache from this if oversprayed. doesn't strike as anything particularly unique, but as I'm not too familiar with masculine fragrances, I don't think I should condem this as 'basic'. enjoying my sample, but won't be forcing this on future partners.

This scent means a lot to me because it was a bday gift from a close friend. But... it smells ok. Good. But that's it. Nothing extra special. Very wearable and possibly even compliment pulling but not anything crazy. Its more synthetically scratchy in the opening than I'd expect from CH. Not their best offering.

It's a sweet woody smooth fragrance that lasts long, it's Good but I don't really like vanilla that much in fragrances. I would rate it a 8/10 but it could easily be a 10/10 for vanilla lovers

I tried this fragrance and honestly, it’s just okay. It has a nice fresh and slightly sweet scent with some woody and aromatic notes, but nothing really stands out or feels unique. The performance is decent and it smells pleasant enough, but for me it’s a bit too generic and doesn’t leave a strong impression. It feels like something I’ve smelled many times before. Overall, it’s not a bad fragrance, but it’s definitely not for me — so it’s a no thanks. ⭐️⭐️ 2 out of 5

Sephora DNA + some artificial sweeteners off the top. Do all Sephora fragrances use the same backbone and then just change the top notes? Seems like it.

Once again, another ABSOLUTE dud bearing the Herrera name! The smell of this stuff reminds me of the inside of a Sephora store--specifically, the Times Square location--back when I first discovered them 25 years ago or so. You know that smell they give off, especially near the fragrance area, with all of the lights, and the carpeting? In the winter months, that store was always so warm from the heat, the lights, and the store being being packed with people spraying all the various fragrances. This smells JUST like that, but amped up. While the smell isn't repulsive or anything, it's just BORING and flat... certainly, nothing that I'd want to smell like all day long. There's also both a wet metal and some very strange wet paper/wood (think of a wet popsicle stick) note lingering around in this fragrance that I have ABSOLUTE-ly no patience for. The only redeeming quality is that this stuff is SUPER STRONG! So much so, it's one of those fragrances that I consider to be the equivalent of a palate cleanser for the nose. Also, I'd like to mention the "false advertising" of mentioning oud. I detect ABSOLUTE-ly none in this stuff! I wish Herrera would one day wake the hell up and realize just how insipid their releases have been compared to what they used to churn out. The more I am smelling this as I type, it truly is downright awful! P.S. Where's the vanilla?!?!

How many flankers can come out this year

Not a rating! My sister works at Harrods and grabs/steals me perfume samples and bottles. This one came unexpectedly as misses Herrera Pulles up to Harrods two hours before opening. She threw a fit that the Herrera display was put in the corner of the main perfume hallway. She kept going on and on about how they used truffle di oro and milked the poor fungus. My sister couldn’t get her hands on it yet.

Reminds me of sth or maybe too many things. Smells like every other sweet but 'masculine' designer. It's vanilla but it's not gourmand. Nothing unique here so it's versatile, maybe mass appealing but I'd say it's a bit boring to me. Also kinda smells a bit cheap but maybe I have to restest in the winter cuz it's kinda hot now.

Bad boy Le Parfum, Bad boy Elixir are awesome flankers. So I own those 2. And now I will add this to my collection. This is a well made and very good designer scent. I’m glad a bottle that I keep in a cabinet that I’ll eventually throw in the trash doesn’t keep me from enjoying things like this.

OG Cobalt is what introduced me to perfumery. That perfume is the reason I'm so deep in this extremely expensive hobby. Elixir wasn't good enough for me to buy, but I'm definitely putting high hopes on this one! OG Cobalt DNA but with added OUD. This has great potential!

The opening and mid aren't too bad, they smell like a Rabanne. Kind of like a lucky and elixir 1 million combo with less sweetness. But the dry down smells like a piece of oak tree bark. It's a weird one to me

This didn't do a lot for me I've probably tried too many at this point but the most interesting part was the next morning I got a whiff of similarity to gentleman boisee probably from the cacao/woods notes

This reminds me of Million Elixir and Phantom in Red- there’s a similar note in the drydown. Then you realize they’re all Puig fragrances. I enjoy this but the similarities to those 2 deflated me a bit.

why not creating a new name , with a different bottle instead of bad boy and its thousand flankers, the company could have release a new standalone fragrance, name it "f*ckboy"

it smells a lot like its color but has nothing to do with the OG closest to Phantom Intense by Rabanne smells really nice, but redundant to own both

This looks like a mixture of Elixir and Cobalt mixed together with some oud. We will see if that is how it plays out when I smell it.

I dont know if my nose is broken but it kinda reminds me of le beau le parfum
