Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir

This was the reason I finally signed up for Fragrantica. I felt this was my signature scent... I never felt that way about another scent before. (Spoiler alert: it was much better on paper than my skin!) :( The subtle vanilla and brown leather together is so sexy and masculine (I know leather isn't listed, but I get a lot of it actually.) There's not too much spice/black pepper. Not too much sweet. Not citrus like everything else that's fresh, but a fresh almost pineapple comes through strong. The amount of frankincense is good too, I used to wear pure frankincense often and this is nice. At first I didn't smell it much but now it's nice It's the perfect amount of aromatic herbs (sage and something else herbal), with a hint of black pepper sitting on fresh cut cedar, wrapped in a sexy dark vanilla/leather. 100/100, so good, I just love it. My wife loves it. I think anyone still on something juvenile with high citrus like ADG would enjoy moving up to this. Update: the first few days it was AMAZING. Now when I AB it after a shower, on my skin it smells much much worse. I don't know what I loved so much the first few days, but this doesn't belong as my signature anymore. Definitely not 100/100 anymore. I'll try it again sometime when it's been a while and update again. Sad because on paper it's so perfect to me

I’ve been collecting two decades now and have owned high end niche to high end designer and Cobalt Elixir still remains one of my all time favorites! It’s one of the few fragrances I’m actually glad it isn’t very popular and not talked about much. Less people wearing it and more uniqueness to it overall.. To me this is just such a sexy and intoxicating fragrance.. if I was just judging by the notes only I would probably guess I wouldn’t care for a fragrance like this but luckily my first encounter with Cobalt Elixir was when I was sampling fragrances at Ulta. I remember coming in specifically to grab one fragrance for the collection that day and had sampled like 10 fragrances and nothing was really speaking to me yet.. Well then I finally came to Cobalt Elixir... I remember the employee spraying it on a tester strip and immediately catching it in the air and my eyes lit up, then I actually smelt the card itself and without any hesitation I blurted out l “Yep thats it! This is the one! Grab me the biggest bottle you carry.” It is pretty rare for me that a fragrance grabs me up like that but Cobalt Elixir definitely did..

Carolina Herrera Cobalt Elixir is definitely unique for the Bad Boy line. The first time I sprayed this at Macy's, I didn't like it. Months later, I ended up getting a sample of it when I bought a bottle of BB Extreme. I started using the sample and it grew on me after a few days. Generally I wait for a sale since I only buy from department stores, but didn't want to wait and paid full price for a 150ml bottle - it's that good. I love how it is somewhat dark yet fruity - a bit more masculine than the original Cobalt. There is nothing like it. Quick edit: I've wearing this a lot over the past week. The projection and longevity is not that great past 3 or 4 hours. It is still stronger than a "skin scent," but not as strong as other CH BB fragrances like Extreme or the EDT. I have a legit bottle that I bought directly from the CH website. Maybe it will get better with time. Though I have no problem dousing myself in this fragrance in the morning and a again later in the afternoon if I am home lol.

This is my favorite out of the Bad Boy line that I’ve smelled. To add to it, it’s one of my favorite fragrances that I’ve ever smelled. This one ticks all the boxes that I love in fragrances. This one smells very similar to how the original cobalt dry down smells, but slightly sweeter, more woody, and less spicy. I get the animalic smell in the opening but less in the dry down. The truffle is fantastic in this frag. I think that’s why I like it so much. It has that vanilla like scent but it’s not too sweet like some of the gourmand fragrances. Performance on this one is a lot better than the original cobalt. I get 8+ hours of longevity on skin & clothes, with around 4 hours of decent projection and sillage. It is perfect for clubbing or a night out. Wouldn’t be best for a hot summer day though. Overall, this fragrance is a 8.5/10 for me. It can be dressed up or down as it’s pretty versatile. Safe blind buy for anyone that likes sweet, spicy, woody fragrances. Get a sample if you’re not sure!

I have found one of my new favorite fragrance’s.. After sampling many colognes at Ulta Beauty looking for a new scent and being torn on what to choose between a few I had smelled, my nose and senses were immediately won over as soon as I sampled the Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir. It’s so sensual and unique and still displays much masculinity that a mans fragrances should. It’s like a super deep blue mixed with lush earth and grit. It has a passive sweetness and richness but also brings in earthy tones and the truffle ties in so smoothly and really makes the scent stand out beautifully from the rest . In my opinion this elixir can be enjoyed and appreciated by many and will rise to the top. This is a unique and gorgeous summer scent especially as it grows later in the day into the night. This is a new nose catcher for sure, extremely well done Elixir. I haven’t smelt a Bad Boy fragrance that I haven’t loved yet.

This is a perfume that I still can’t explain the exact scent profile to my satisfaction yet it is my signature and most favorite perfume till date. Although it opens up with a spicy earthy vibe, but the dry down is just unique and super earthy truffle and frankincense. This is still an underrated, unique and a little complicated perfume and I’m glad it is, because otherwise I couldn’t make it my signature fragrance and stand out amidst a crowd. The projection is good, leaves a complicated earthy nutty trail behind. Although this not be the mass pleasing or no brainer perfume, but people who love unique and earthy perfumes will love it. I macerated it after I had faced a little performance issue and now it stays more than a day on my clothes, no exaggeration at all. And I find this wearable any time any day any season. I just love it.

I used this todayand is amazing, is a great Bad Boy scent dna, for me the best one of all, before purchasing this I compare the cobalt eleqtrique side by side with this and ended up liking this better, however, this is not a day scent with 35°Celsius + weather, for that, Cobalt eleqtrique must do, Had the OG and the Le parfum before, and for a casual night out, Id choose this one over the others, for my taste and likes, the Extreme version wasnt for me, to strong, the purple one, to floral aiming nowhere Bad boy Dna, and I dont have a smell memories from the superstar (silver) and the gold one. So lastly, this is the most versatile CH Bad Boy, the best one overall, grab this if you doesnt have others BBs, but if you want to make this(night) and the Cobalt Eleqtrique(day) your signature scent, you got this cover with the duo

This frag screams, "I vape, but it's nicotine-free blue raspberry." Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir totally won me over after one Sephora sniff. I'm obsessed! People actually stopped to check it out when I was downtown – even a smoke shop dude and a cute dude gave me the side-eye (in a good way, lol). It lasted all day, seriously. It's fun, confident, and has this cool blue vibe. The "boozy" part is so not what you expect – it's sweet like candy, 90s throwback vibes, and blue Gatorade. Wearing it feels like you're radiating charm. I've never tried the OG Bad Boy, but this Carolina Herrera one is amazing! The bottle is super cool too, a real statement piece. Bottom line: This is a total head-turner. Wish there were cheaper dupes, but I'd wear this every day. It's seriously unforgettable.

So many people hate this fragrance existence with their soul and I'm not sure why. To me this is like a cross of the OG Cobalt mixed with Invictus victory elixir. I wanted the original cobalt, but could never justify buying it because I had rassasi hawas which smelled close enough to cobalt for me. This takes it into a deeper, more smokier direction with slight vanilla sweetness that smells amazing. It doesn't have plum, but the sage gives it this slight tinge of the original fruitiness through to the dry down. The hate on this is undeserved. It's not the best fragrance in the world and only really usable for night outs year round, but people bashing it saying it's nothing like the original and smells like sweaty gooch is just uncalled for.

Nose note #20: Note: Review from a 2 mL test sample, not the full bottle. This really surprised me; I didn't expect the leather in this fragrance, which is not listed. This opens with a bomb of leather and sweet spicy truffle and vanilla, which is kind of mature for this line's target audience. Then I get some animalic notes and a sweet leather because of the vanilla and the truffle remainings, and it stays like that until it fades, leaving an alright scent. Would wear primarily in fall and winter, but it can be also worn in spring. Not a daily-use fragrance, and I think of it as a special occasion fragrance for youngsters when you are not comfy enough to use strong iris or leather. Price: Gift from the store Rate: 7.5/10

Love this fragrance. One of the more under appreciated releases of 2024. The truffle is the most prominent, and gives it a very nice earth and dusty scent. The vanilla gives it some sweetness towards the dry down, but it's more of a background note. The black pepper and frankincense balances the fragrance very well. Very masculine scent and surprisingly versatile considering what it is. Has a bit of similarity to the original Cobalt, but goes a very different direction with the darker notes. I get pretty good performance and projection as well. A more unique fragrance compared to many of the other designer releases lately, and honestly one of my favorites. Overall 9/10

My nose must be busted or my skin chemistry must be blessed by Carolina Herrera herself because the bad reviews are baffling to me. This smells creamy, woody, and even a little fruity (I detect what smells like mango). This fragrance just smells AMAZING off my skin. It has excellent longevity easily lasting 8+ hours and projects rather strongly for 2 hours but is still VERY detectable over 8 hours in. I'm constantly catching a whiff of this bad boy (no pun intended) throughout the day and it's just intoxicating. Definitely reminds me of the OG cobalt but deeper, creamier, and with far better performance. This is easily the star of the line in my opinion.

This is OG Cobalt but more earthy, smokey, resinous and sweet. Sooo OG Cobalt made dark. Some reviewers below said that this smells like cigarettes or someone who smokes. I get exactly where they are coming from, because I find this fragrance to be quite smokey. Too smokey for my personal taste preferences. I personally prefer the OG Cobalt over this Elixir. Yet, even though I don't prefer the Elixir, I am not going to lie to y'all, this smells super addictive. When I tested it, I could not stop sniffing my shirt. It smells attractive AF, So I really am confused by the polarizing reviews.

i love this one ,super close to Invictus elixir but the most best underrated designer fragrance, reminds me of smoked cookies of some sort but also reminds me of yogurt in a good way, but its not basic its unique its super elegant. and for the dudes that say "its so basic" or shi to criticize this you seem to be heaving trouble to getting some 🙀 maybe if you stop rotting at home and step outside to see the real world, women love this fragrance they'll be smooching your neck and start wanting to eat your neck and taste the alcahol of this fragrance

With the funky bottles, i have stayed away from trying them in stores during my short journey. However, I landed a sample and am impressed with this one. I enjoy it when a truffle note can be worked in so well. TF Black Orchid is a work of art. I have nBitor's Akelarre and love it. This also works for me. I enjoy the nice peppery opening. Transitioning to such a great earthy and comfortable place. Will add it to my list but maybe hide the bottle in the cabinet. I know that the liquid inside matters more, but my only complaint is the bottle.

This is a fresh off the rip very fruity fragrance when I first brought I thought it was a bit too fruity and maybe a little feminine but when it dries down to some darker tone fruit which idk how that makes sense but thats the only way I can explain it. But overall I do recommend this fragrance to all the people who go to school or just like a everyday fragrance this fits perfect for every occasion

This is a great fragrance. Honestly, im picking up on wood and vanilla but not too sweet vanila it is smooth and kinda sweet and with that mix id gets a nice creaminess of vanilla with lots of wood. It is a beautifully dobe fragrance. It has a truffle note wich i cant smell. I reccomend it for those who like creamy vabilla with woody notes One of the best fragrances i ever smelt. 9.7/10

This fragrance is a hidden gem of 2024. The truffle note is bold, giving it an earthy, dusty character, while vanilla adds a hint of sweetness in the dry down. Black pepper and frankincense balance it perfectly. It has a darker twist compared to the original Cobalt but maintains impressive performance and projection. Unique and versatile, it’s become one of my top picks. Rating: 9/10

Update to my original review: this shit is just so good. Something about it on these cold January days makes it so special; it just feels so right. This is a beautiful blue, smoky, earthy, fruity, and aquatic fragrance does it all at once without losing its character. At this point, one of my all-time favorites. For the people that can appreciate it, it's wonderful. 10/10

I find this very similar to Electrique, so much I would consider owning both to be redundant. I would refer to this as a 'blue' fragrance (so the name of the fragrance & color of the bottle make sense). I prefer this over Invictus Victory Elixir. The opening & heart are stunning. Drydown is unfortunately lackluster. I do not find this to be earthy or animalic whatsoever.
