Bad Boy Gold Fantasy

It is "Literally' just Badboy edt...if don't trust me, take it from Carolina Herrera website. Badboy superstar, gold fantasy, dazzling garden, ice are all "Collector Edition" bottles with Badboy EDT juice. Still very good fragrance IMO, I love Badboy EDT, in fact love whole line. Quote from CH online: "Give the gift of gold this holiday season with Bad Boy Gold Fantasy, a luxurious Collector's Edition of the iconic Bad Boy scent covered in gleaming gold. Bad Boy is a fragrant expression of duality, reflecting the bold nature of the modern man"

This is a collectors edition of the original bad boy edt. Not sure who is putting the fragrance notes but this is a typical thing brands do around holidays. If you like/love the original bad boy, then this is just a gold bottle of it. I really enjoy the cologne a lot. It would be in my top 5 colognes. Great scent, great performance, and reasonable price. If you need a replacement or want to collect them, or wanted to try this prior, it’s a great fragrance.

JPG Scandal and this are kind of similar on the dry down. Idk why you guys say this doesn’t last either because I can smell this on me, strong, all day. I sprayed this on my arms when I first got it around 4pm and I could still smell it when I woke up the next day. Of course, Scandal lasts longer. I put it on at 6:40AM and I got complimented at 1:00PM From about 2-3 feet away so not bad at all 👍

People saying that they recognize the Lava scent in this perfume should be remembered not to believe everything they read on the internet and to preferably base their opinions on information they have verified first. To begin with, outside perfumery and it’s fantasy notes, real lava usually smells like rotten eggs, this scent comes from the sulfur gas picked up by the lava in the volcano vent. Sometimes the sulfur density in the lava is so low that it won’t produce any smell and the flow is left to pick up the scent of whatever gets burnt on its path, could be grass, could be trees, could be something else, but unless it’s simultaneously burning pepper plants and cacao trees, it will never smell like this perfume. And furthermore, this perfume DOES NOT contain the Lava fantasy note!! The correct note breakdown directly from Carolina Herrera is: Top: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, White Pepper. Heart: Cedar, Sage, Vetiver. Bottom: Tonka, Cacao This perfume is just an special edition of the original Bad Boy Eau de Toilette, not a new or varied iteration. That said, now let’s talk about it... It smells quite nice, mostly chocolaty from the Cacao, a bit spicy from all the Pepper and with a very lovely Sage/Tonka envelope. The most important drawback, aside from the tacky bottle, is performance, this perfume is mostly a skin scent, and it only lasts for 2 to 3 hours before disappearing completely. Constant reapplying will be required. Being a chocolaty/spicy/aromatic fragrance it is better suited for cold or mild weather, and although marketed for men I find it completely unisex. A very lovely chocolate scent with terrible performance. And without any lava... whatsoever....

Smells like La Nuit de l'Homme less sweet and deep, with more freshness. Scent:6 Projection/Longevity:4 Uniqueness:3 quality:6 Value for money:ok Overall:5

I don’t know that I can really say too much great about this. It smells very department store generic to me - nothing really stands out and it just doesn’t live up to whatever hype it gets, IMO. Also.. lava? For real?

Visited a perfume store a few days ago and sprayed this on my arm, as they had a tester bottle out. Let me be clear; I was baffled, because I usually always tend to find something positive or good to say about a scent. Never before have I been repelled by a fragrance to such a degree. I was hit with the most synthetic-smelling, basic teenage dirtbag aroma you could imagine. This smells like the boys' locker room in Junior High. It's like every cheap, synthetic Wallmart EDT bought by a 14 year old; alloyed into one single Frankenstein's monster's perineum tang. You think this is bad? Nah, son. Take a look at the price point for this Bad Boy. It's like they produced this cologne with the sole purpose of eliciting suffering and woe. Olfactorily, economically, emotionally & even intellectually to the point of where you have to question their nefarious motives. If you want to smell like a clueless, prurient, juvenile jock whose father is a rich CEO with money to waste, this is for you.

The last time I smelled lava it was running down the side of a Hawaiian volcano toward my Air BnB tropical bungalow. My wife dropped her panties and everything else as we fled for our lives up the hill toward higher ground. The molten brimstone burned banana trees, palm fronds, all our belongings as it oozed down the hill and consumed the bungalow. I'll never forget that scent and I am so glad CH has captured it in this banger of a new fragrance.

At first spray, i'm immediately hit with the sharp and intoxicating note of Lava. It smells wonderful. I can tell the specific type they were able to source is of high quality, probably from the Western regions of Hawaii. In reality, this special edition crap has to end, and adding stupid fake notes in a desperate attempt to drum up sales is embarrassing. Shame on Carolina Herrera...

@DrNDJas Thank you for that wonderful description! As soon as I have the chance to sample this I will be looking for the top notes of fear and panic. As it dries down I'm sure the more heavy base notes of anguish and despair will appear.

Does anyone know if the lava is sourced from Italy or Hawaii? Since I don't wear fragrances that are overly synthetic, this had better be "au naturale".

My God, I can't take this anymore... really, it's beyond absurd at this point! Carolina herself steps down as creative director and the whole damn fragrance division goes to bloody hell. If Wes Gordon has any say in these latest so-called fragrance offerings, he really needs to be reeled in! What will their next fragrance launch be? "Bad Boy Ad Nauseam," "Bad Boy Ad Nauseam EDP," "Bad Boy Ad Nauseam Elixir," etc.? It's really quite pathetic that a company with such a rich and storied history rooted in class and sophistication stoops to the level of peddling utter crap such as this -- all for the almighty dollar. Sad, really very sad!

What’s the point of having a separate page and rating for the same scent in a new bottle? Just confusing for buyers to see a newer less defined grading of this since it is the OG. Same thing with Popeye/Superman. They should have the same rating. Or am I to just rate the look of the new golden bottle here?

Reminds me of when I visited Hawaii as a kid and went swimming in a volcano 🌋 every time I spray this it reminds me of the warmth of lava on my skin ❤️🔥 crazy how they were able to capture the scent of lava. 😊

So 2023 is going to be a tornado note topping the lists, 2024 tsunami note in Bleu de Chanel elixir and 2025 CH American Bad Boy with school shooting note

Top Notes Black Pepper, White Pepper, Bergamot Heart Notes Sage and Cedar Base notes Tonka Bean, Cacao , Amberwood.

Smelled it today, it smells like a weaker version of the original, the cacao and tonka seem dialed back.

This is not a review. This is a cry for help. How do you bottle “lava” into a perfume
