CH Insignia Men

Not a fan. I'll update a bit once I dwell on the details a bit more, but I let it develop, took breaks, and even as one of the biggest fans of CH Men and a few of the flankers, I can't get into it. It smells floral and feminine as well as too mature to my nose, and not in an appealing way. I wouldn't quite say it's grandma mode, but I'm on the edge. If there's any CH Men dna in this at all, it is very mild. Apart from that, it doesn't strike me as a particularly great scent to wear for men. I'm baffled by the high rating on this. My bottle has black leather and all the snazzy raised gold parts. Quite a nice presentation, actually. BOUT A WEEK LATER: I did give it a little time and a fair go. I do get it, and although I just don't like the spike that I get out of it which is floral and leather (not the ordinary CH Men style leather that I love), I do find it oddly pleasing in a way that I really can't describe. It is appealing in a strange way, but I do stick to the conclusion that there are better options for its niche and style. It's just too strange and off the beaten path for a designer men's scent. It would be more suited as niche unisex. That's not a knock against it, but I also don't think it has any business being called CH Men-anything. I still detect very little (a tiny bit) CH Men DNA, and the scent profile itself is in another solar system. If you're made of money, why not try it? But if you're on a budget, this is certainly not blind buy safe if you see CH Men and think you have a clue of what you're getting into. Sample it first if you are fearing the typical CH way of discontinuing then you're up doodoo creek. I am still intrigued by this formula. Every time I smell it, I like it more, and I would say at this point that I do like it, but it's not for me, and it should be sampled before buying if that's even possible. I mean, CH will definitely discontinue if they haven't already, so if you're really curious, you could probably bank on selling in a few years for a lot more when it becomes harder to get. Food for thought.

This is an increible fragrance! Almost smells like a niche or haute couture fragrance, definitely goes beyond what you would normally expect from a designer house. It has a very crispy spices tone at the beginning, uplifted by a very sweet and rich rose base. After 1 hour, the oud comes out but the crisps of spices is still there, just becomes softened. This is where the addictive and sophisticated multi-facets part arrives, you can enjoy spices, rose, and the steady base of oud at a super balanced and unified harmony. Longevity and sillage are both powerful, The bottle is elegant and edgy at the same time too. It smells really differently than the most of nice Oud Rose perfumes due to this genius addition of spices on top. I highly recommend it, and I consider it equally suitable for day and night wear. It is just that versatile and at the same time, a fascinating modern intepretation of sensual masculinity 100%.

***** I just picked up this bad boy @ the Toronto Duty Free. Wooooow. It definitely resembles Tom Ford Extreme but with a CH Men Twist. I get that. The better way to explain this imho is that it's prive's pretty boy brother that is less of a bad boy in a leather jacket and more of man dressed for a date/ special event. Take away the whiskey and leather and add saffron and rose.The oud is there blended perfectly in the background and stands out in the dry down. This frag does not resemble ferrari essence oud. Not even close. Scent 10 - Niche Quality Longevity 10 - Wow Compliments: 9 Versatility: 7 - winter frag IM READY FOR SNOW BRO!

I am a little confused as there appears to be a number of different perfumes under this banner. I got a bottle of this which was exclusive to the Middle East (GCC) market, and I assume differs from a number of the reviews here, as my review is as follows: The saffron and rose compliment each other perfectly, smells like the courts of a grand Persian emperor. Great for formal occasions. The Oud component is intense, which maybe a bit much for western users. The longevity and sillage is the thing of myth, a few sprays and it fills a whole building, not just a room.

This perfume is definitely not for everyone, if you like different scents (as I do) you will love this perfume, definitely one of the best in my collection, although I would not use it in hot weather. the smell of roses is like an old incense smell, in fact, that is the response I have had when using it, they always tell me that I smell a subtle incense of roses. the duration of this perfume is enormous, it stays on your skin and clothes for a long time.

It reminds me of Moschino Toy Boy only that here the rose note is more juicy and fresh. As projection and longevity it is medium , it can be worn all year (even in summer but not at temperatures above 23°C) if you find the EDP from 2020 because the notes of Oud, saffron and cinnamon are no longer so strong. Its an sophisticated perfume , probably not all men will like it , but i love it.

Just bought this perfume from dubai airport. THIS PERFUME IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING the blend of oud and patchouli is perfect. With this perfume less is more. The performance is great. This does not smell like the original ch men though i do prefer this perfume over the original. Smell: 10/10 Versatility: 6/10 Performance: 9/10 Longevity: 7:10

No soy experto en notas ni nada por el estilo pero para describirlo diria q tiene un cuero tipp ombre leather, rosa como Toy Boy y un ligero ADN del CH men, y me encanta

Eso ya lo comprar y esto tiene calidad mucho, encuentro una similitud con Tom Ford Noir pero in poco mad dulce y lo hacer muy bien. Este perfume es un gran acierto.

Very solid fragrance, works very well in winter. I love the bottle as well.

Overall this is the original CH for men, from 2009, with a synthetic dry oud note in background. As the description states. And it works great in this fragrance. It is actually what is missing in the original CH IMO. This flanker actual seems to project better and has a more interesting opening. It seems to come out to greet you on porch. Instead of looking at you through the window like the original CH. The oud bumps up the scent for the first hour. Then the oud disappears and you have the original 2009 version of CH for men. But a tad stronger and some dry wood. I like this over original now. But this is my first wearing. Nice and still A list for me. Update: Wearing Insigna side by side with the original CH. I still like Insignia more. It is sweeter, softer, and more wearable. Longevity is good. Projection is modest.

Launched in 2018, it's called a limited edition, but the bottle I snagged was made 9 months ago, according to checkfresh. It's good, you can smell the CH Men backbone, for sure. Oud is not my favorite accord, but it's blended really well, so I don't get any funk.That being said, as a daring rose lover, I'm a bit let down since, it's faintly there. Today was day 1 of spraying, so maybe something will develop since it's been oxygenated. I bought it not because I needed it, I thought I was getting something rare that I couldn't get again, not made 9 months ago. I have The One - Mysterious Night, it's nothing like that, to me, anyway. That's formal and elegant, this could be worn with a T-shirt and nobody would think anything of it.

This is quite beautiful if you know what you're getting. The original CH is there and hard to miss, hugged within very complementing rose and oud notes. This is almost like a Ramadan edition of the original CH.

If you want a peppery version of this, instead of Oud. Checkout Moschino Toy Boy, both smells good, big sillage for a night going out.

Smells like the original CH men with added cinnamon rose and oud. It’s a nice fragrance, and lasts a long time

This is a beautiful fragrance. The first half hour smells unisex though because of the intense roses note , but after it dry down it starts to smell masculine and so good. The combination of the oud and cashmere is just amazing. And I'm not a big fan of oud but this one is just blended perfectly . I don't understand why they make such a beautiful fragrance a limited edition? If this was widely available in retailer store, it will be one of the top 10 selling colognes for men. Carolina Herrera team, if by any chance you guys read this review, just know you came up with an amazing fragrance and it's such shame to be limited edition and gone some day.

Buyers beware. It's very sweet and leans feminine. Attention grabber and compliment getter sure. That said, at the 1 to 2 hour mark, the beautiful oud scent starts to develop and you smell oh so luxurious. I can imagine one pulling this one off if you're at a gala party where all the men wear suits and the women fine dresses. However, I never go to those parties, and so this is one of those fragrances that never has a chance to be worn (for me).

** UPDATE: 04/30/2026 ** I gave it some more time, recently took it out of the closet, and started using it again. I wore it to the office today, and even though I didn't receive any compliments on it, I quite enjoyed wearing it. Out of my 100+ bottle collection, this is nowhere near my favorite, or in my top 80, but it is one of those decent "dumb" reach fragrances. Like others have said, it is similar to Moschino Toy Boy, but I prefer this. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This arrived, today, and I am not sure how I feel about it. The batch code is showing me that this is a 2023 version. Also, the bottle has the "leather" with no stitching. Personally, I don't get a rose smell. To me, it smells more like pear? I do not smell any violet or cinnamon. Did I get a fake? Who knows. All I know is, I ordered this from FragranceN3T. This was my first time ordering from them, so who knows. All I can say is, so far I am not impressed. I'll give this a few more wears before I decide to keep or toss this bottle. So far, I am just disappointed. Blind buy gone wrong. :'( My order of Toy Boy arrives in a few days and I am hoping that is much better. Fingers crossed.

@C303 -- You're not the only one having trouble finding it! There was a seller in Texas who had both the men's and women's for sale on ebay. As of today (December 4th), there are only two bottles for sale. One is the women's and another in the U.K. for men. The problem, however, is how Herrera has treated all requests regarding the release of this. I first noticed it on the Herrera website back in May of this year. Wanting to acquire a bottle I called the CH Carolina Herrera store (not the Carolina Herrera store as they don't carry anything "CH") and was shocked at how nobody there even knew of this new offering. One of the associates was shocked as she pulled it up on the website after I directed her to it. I was put on hold and when she returned, she said she'd take my name and number and call me back. I never heard from her, so I called back again. I was told they're taking names for a list and when it arrives, they'll call. I never heard from them by the end of June, so I called back again. This time, the associate I spoke with said she was familiar with the new fragrance but they haven't received it as of yet and there was no expected date. I was advised to try back in a few weeks. I called back in the middle of July, and no new updates. This sort of thing has gone on for months! I then used the contact form on CarolinaHerrera.com and they simply don't even respond. I called the phone number listed on their website and was met with a greeting that said "This voice mailbox is full" and then it disconnected the call. Shocked as such lackluster behavior from a company such as this, I found their corporate number online and called them directly. Told the receptionist everything that's going on and she took my information and emailed me directly apologizing for the difficulties including the full voice mailbox which she said she would take care of. She informed me in email that she sent my request to Spain (Puig) so that they can respond to me directly as they handle the licensing for Herrera fragrances. Weeks went by and I head nothing! Got in touch with Herrera corporate in New York again and once again, she apologized saying she'll tell the people in Spain as well as a manager here in the U.S. about this. Weeks go by and once again... NOTHING. Just this past weekend, I used the contact form on Herrera's website once again as well as dropping an email to " [email protected] " and nothing. I've received better customer service and responses from struggling start-ups and understaffed companies! But they're certainly making an "insignia" for themselves with this atrocious customer service, or lack thereof in this case! Unbloody real! P.S. Before hitting "Submit," I thought I'd call the CH store in New York ONE more time. A woman by the name of Madeline answered and she remembered my initial call back this summer. I explained EVERYTHING that has happened since we last spoke and she said she's going to try and get to the bottom of it by speaking with her "liaison with Spain." NOT holding my breath as she said she already talked to management prior and obviously, they've done nothing.

Beautiful stuff! It goes to show that even with new regulations for fragrances, NEW ones don't have be another dull "blue-themed" fragrance and can last QUITE some time. While I enjoyed the original CH Men -- especially since it's a fragrance I've gotten unsolicited comments on, I didn't like the dry-down portion of it. Like a lot of other fragrances out there of late, there's this "chalky" or "dusty" aspect that I just can't stomach/tolerate. CH Men has a bit of that in there and in the end, becomes a bit "blah" on my skin. CH Insignia Men clearly does not. Oddly, none of the note categories include leather, but just this morning when I sprayed it, I got a hint of a leather. That particular aspect doesn't last long, but it's certainly an ode to and reminiscent of its namesake. This stuff could have easy been called "CH Men Eau de Parfum." Out of all the CH Men offerings, this is by far my favorite. What's really interesting about Insignia is that you'd think it could be a formulation without any reference to CH Men... it's far more robust and different. However, as it starts to develop on the skin -- especially during the onset -- you can get hints of the original every now and then. I will say that this is a fragrance to be used sparingly! A bottle of this should last a VERY long time... even if used daily. Personally, I go VERY easy on the trigger. For me, one spray does the trick. While I understand some people who say this is a fragrance that can only be "dressed up," I'm wearing it on a casual Friday at the office with a pair of jeans, dress shirt and a v-neck sweater and I feel it works. Finally, the bottle... LOVE the letter "H" insignia turned sideways over the bottle. These are the details that Herrera fragrances are known for, unlike the "Bad Boy" range which to me is a one bizarre anomaly! The only negative I have to report is that success never really happened with it commercially -- such a shame! The positive to that is for those of us who do enjoy it, it's as if we belong to an exclusive club -- and we'll smell like it, too!

@C303 -- Yup, you're right... very much a run-around! I do realize the new fragrance is a limited edition, and it was released overseas, but the fact that Herrera/Puig can't get their act together and at a very MINIMUM, simply RESPOND to inquiries in a professional manner is rather sad. I'm really quite flummoxed at how flippant they are with this request. Yet, they have time to take PLENTY of pictures of Cameron Dallas (Herrera's "pretty boy" for the 212 VIP line) for Instagram and other social media content. As a hypothetical... let's assume it was just an overseas release and it will NEVER make it to Herrera stores here stateside. Since websites are SUPPOSED to be informative and provide as much information as possible, one would think a note on the product page on CarolinaHerrera.com saying "Only available in the U.K./Middle East" etc. would be appropriate. And to add insult to injury, this past spring I noticed a picture on their website under the 212 fragrance line. The picture/background was an aerial shot of the former World Trade Center site days after the 9-11 attacks!!! While I understand they wanted a picture of New York for the marketing of this product, the fact that they used **THAT** one was just beyond belief! I emailed them using the contact form on their website and within a few days the picture was swapped out with the one you see there now of the new One World Trade Center and the 212 bottle on top. Interestingly, I never received an email response from them of any kind... not even a "thank you" for bringing such a glaring oversight to their attention. Herrera & Puig REALLY need to get together or something and have lunch to sort out the error of their ways! BAD, BAD, BAD!

The answer is very simple. There were at least a three version of this fragrance. 1. Fantastic sillage and longevity. Definitly not for everyone. 2. Very pleasent and more casual but less oriental. Every bottle smells a different. A fragrance was not deleted but it is sold in limited market. A couple months ago I see this on the Airport in Egypt/Marsa Alam. And no. The letest version is not like D&G The One Mysterious Night. It's very different from this. D&G it's more like winter fragrance with more spices and CH Insignia it's more casual light fragrance for every time.

Very well elaborated, balanced and singular fragrance. In the opening there is a strong and evident Oud note, but it is not medicinal, because the rose and saffron is also present from the beginning, giving a floral touch to the woody opening. Between 5...10 minutes after the application, Oud's note starts to calm down, and that is where, in my opinion, the best part comes, because the magnificent rose note and the saffron also becomes powerful. At this time, the perfume smells "mysterious" and elegant. But it is not that mysterious stranger / weird, but a mysterious very smelling and engaging / attractive. As if that were not enough, at this stage of evolution, also appears the cinnamon note, giving much sensuality to the perfume. I think Carolina Herrera did a great job. They have come out of the comfort zone (always with very commercial perfumes) although the CH Insignia is relatively an "easy to use" if you think it is a fragrance inspired by the Middle East. Aroma: 10/10 Fixation: 12h + Projection: It projects well in the first 3 hours Versatility: Indicated for mild temperatures. Not to use in the heat of 40°C / 105°F.

Insignia opens urgently with spices of cinnamon and saffron, followed by a luminous floral heart of rose and violet with a woody base. The oud here is imaginary. I expected a synthetic oud at least, but even that is not detectable. In a nutshell, Insignia has the classic CH DNA, enhanced with a spiced rose and no oud. Strong introduction, but dries down rather subtle. Not all fragrances have to be "beast mode", but I wasn't really impressed by the performance here. While this release is every bit designer, it is a good designer choice that I would place alongside fragrances like 1 Million Elixir. In addition, a stunning bottle with weight to make up for the lack of power behind the glass. So there is no confusion I have reviewed the exact same bottle shown above with textured leather, without the red stitching.

Tested today, to be as short as possible: weaker clone of Ferrari Essence Oud (which also may resemble to other previously released niche/indie frag). Quality seems on par with the Ferrari but performance is noticeably poorer, so there's no need to look into this one while having Essence Oud on the market (and probably cheaper also). 5/10 ------------------------------------------------ Testeado hoy, y para ser lo más corto posible: clon más débil de Ferrari Essence Oud (que también puede parecerse a otro nicho / indie lanzado anteriormente). La calidad parece estar a la par con el Ferrari, pero el rendimiento es notablemente inferior, por lo que no considero tenerlo en cuenta mientras esté Essence Oud en el mercado (y probablemente también más barato). 5/10

I just smelled it, is a very good scent that reminds me a more power version of Ch men privè. The Rose is very well blended with the violets. Really nice proyection trough at least 5 hours, until i had to wash my hands, and even then i could perceive it.

There is an edp version of this also its quite strong, smells like quality stuff. smells of oud and not like the original ch men to me. I also like this smell more then dior homme parfum. The leather on the bottle is different then the above picture.

Where’s the oud? I’m just getting rose and violet, mostly rose. No spice or woods to speak of. Slight metallic edge with a little bit of patch. It smells good but I was expecting more character. Hopefully my bottle changes over time.

@GoldIris -- If you were here in the U.S., you'd quickly realize what a challenge it is to find just ONE website that sells it without having to go through ebay. It's not an easy find here at all.

Beautiful bottle. Notes very interesting. Bottle looking like Hermes. Casmere, Rose and Saffron are the notes that I'm interested in. I hope this will be a beautiful blend.

For me this and the woman version smell just about the same, just a different bottle. And that's good because the woman version is still fairly easy and cheaper to find

People mention that smells like Potion Royal Black from DSQUARED2 is that true? I love Potion black, but don't want to risk and blind buy it. Any tips are welcome...
