Bought this yesterday slightly on the impulsive side. A 50ml, for a bit more than I expected. After trying about six other fragrances on this day, I could not pull my wrist away from this one. Certainly true to its group: “Oriental - spicy” and one of the best scent in this category. Is this the spicy I am looking for? CH Men starts off with a melody of clean, fresh lemon and vague grapefruit. It seems to turn from interesting to heavenly. The first time I smelled it I knew instantly that this was different, original and unique. My next experience is of wood, of soft spice, and delightful floral. Suddenly it transcends into a magnificent balanced musk then to an almost tobacco or nutty tinge mixed with slight mild unique sweet pepper corn. This is probably the most unusual, but pleasing part for me. There is no tobacco in the displayed pyramid, however there is in my nose. I adore the smell of good tobacco. I do not detect any sugar. If I had not read the perfume pyramid I would be oblivious to this ingredient, however, with this seed planted in my mind I find something to this effect, sweet, but not sickly, almost like the spice has been roasted in light sugar. Then it turns into a glorious spicy woody magic, transporting me to a forest, then to an ocean of romance and fantasy. There is definitely a mysteriously sexy, gentle animalistic hint hiding behind what can fairly be described a masculine scent. A potential head turner indeed! From the reviews here, to the counter, to my home, to opening the box, feeling the elegant leather decorated square bottle, with solitary experiments and the reaction to my body, I am more than pleased with my purchase so far. Once again, in my novice books, Carolina Herrera has something in her range that consistently seems to hit the correct olfactory cords aligned with my body chemistry. In my opinion this gentle, multi-dimensional CH creation is elegant, beautiful and masculine. Having experimented for two weeks to find a signature scent I thought this may be it, and it may be, but with one proviso -- the dry down, which although remains a delectable settled version of all the layers, seems to die a quick death which is almost a crying shame. This may cause its downfall in my decision to buy another bottle. I was hoping previous reviewers were wrong when they said it does not last long. The spice, forest fantasy started to die quicker that I hoped. This always loses a few points in my quarters, but I am willing to update this post after a good few days of office wear. I see this as a safe mature man, office option, or a casual autumn / winter fragrance. I do however suspect one may need to re apply at mid day. If that does not work, I am prepared to double the dose, and not give up for the sake of enjoying this superb liquid. Were it not for the disappointing fade, I would give this a solid 4.8 out of 5. Instead it gets an overall 4.2 for the rest of its stunning, magnificent attributes.

I've worn this stuff for a long time, and I don't think the performance is bad enough to give it a reputation for it. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the single best men's fragrance ever created, except maybe Salt & Pepper by Precious Liquid for something fresher and spicier but expensive. I have a whole review of that, but for a more mellow classic, this is the stuff. Not hyperbole, an incomparable masterpiece. This smells like a man should smell, straight up. Nothing else I've tried has this kind of leather in it. Such an awesome new car type scent. I've heard of a few imitators lately that I need to try, but this is the original for the DNA as far as I know. I also have several batches of the old formulation going back to 2010 and 2012, and, quite frankly, I don't notice a difference between them. None whatsoever. I think the reformulation talk is overblown at minimum, maybe totally warrantless. I think it is the type of scent that you can go anosmic to fairly easily, so people struggle with that to a greater or lesser extent. There have been times that I'm wearing it, fall asleep for a nap, and wake up smelling it like CRAZY on myself because my nose has been "refreshed" from sleep lol. The only issue with this stuff is that over time, its brand of flat, leathery sweetness might get a little sickening to some people, but I found a solution to that. Wear this stuff in combination with Sauvage (not too much!) or another very masculine fresh, spicy scent, and it will add just the right lift that this stuff needs. I recommend Sauvage EDP, there's nothing else quite like it for its mix of freshness and just a touch of spice. To me, this combo is such an incredible classic scent for a man. Has to be the right freshie so it won't clash. Sauvage EDP is nice because it's pretty rugged and masculine, blending smoothly with this type of leather. Experiment with where to spray and how much so you can smell both just the right amount and you'll be good as gold, boys 💛 You want to use very little Sauvage relative to CH Men because compared to CH it will explode off the skin while CH sits closer. If projection is an issue, just use more CH. It's not that expensive compared to most stuff these days. If someone managed to make a Sauvage EDP/CH men hybrid, it would be pretty amazing. The reason no one talks about this stuff is because they're busy trying to sell new stuff and keep things like this for themselves. Do yourselves a favor, and get ahold of a big bottle of this stuff. It might take time for your brain to comprehend everything going on in this juice, but once it does, you'll probably want to sell a lot of your collection.

Well I am late to the game on this one. I did a blind buy on this one and to my surprise it was not exactly what I was expecting. It is actually a bit different than what I have in my collection. First spray you feel the clean, fresh grassy notes and its sweet but not overly sweet. After it settles I do get violet with a woody earthy note. It is still clean and less grassy but it starts going in a heavier direction. I guess the nutmeg note pops up it is a spicy kick. So far it does feel designer but not the sweet vanilla bombs we have right now. This one is more into aromatic, fresh, a touch floral, sweetness light leather. And leans very masculine I don’t feel it is very unisex. After like 30 minutes I get leather but not raw leather, its more of a cleaner leather with a soft creamy tone. The earthy grassy note it is still there. It only projects for the first hour at arms length after that it comes closer to the body but its not weak. I don’t feel it’s casual, it’s more office, datenight, wedding, night out. It is not loud and it has a more mature blend meaning late 20’s and up. What I liked the most is that the sweetness never gets out of hand, its there but doesn’t overwhelm. It is smooth the sharpest note might be the violet but its not even sharp. I feel this one is really balanced as it doesn’t go fully fresh or fully dark and heavy, it stays in the middle in a way. The drydown is woodsy, very subtle creamy leather, sweetness but more natural sweetness doesn’t feel syrupy. The earthy grassy note still there but more light as it blends in with the other notes. This is a great scent it is more on the TDH category but with a more mainstream blend. Best part of it, all of it. The opening , the mid and the drydown. Its a subtle transition but its not linear. It lasts a good 6-7 hours on skin, I really liked it, as it is more mature more on the gentleman side. You can wear it during spring, cool summer nights, fall and early winter. Its heavy for a hot summer day so I would not wear it, I would go more fresh than this. And it might be a little weak for cold winters. Almost a year round scent. I will definitely get a backup bottle of this fragrance. 100ml/3.4oz bottle is around the $50 dollar range. This review is for the batches (there is no red ribbon in the middle anymore, it's just the name at the bottom right) Never wear this in summer. It changes to an unbearable stinky smell, something like the public restrooms with flowers air freshener. The scent itself is good, but for me not so special. It's one of those perfumes you always try to figure out the situation you should wear it. It's not the best choice for a date situation; the middle and base notes are too woody for that. Too sweet in the first hour for the office. Too weak for outdoor gatherings, and not the best if you're in casual outfits. Go with D&G the one (EDP) or YSL la nuit de l'Homme in the same price range for date situations. People say this is a safe gift, but I'm not sure about that. You would have lots of safer options in this price range. Overall: 7.1/10 Moderate longevity and Sillage. Just for cold weather, night, and indoors. Cheers *******Updated! I wore this in the winter and I love it now! I knew it would act differently in colder weather, but not by this much. It's smooth and lovely. It has a cuddly scent if that makes sense. The urinal kinda feel that I talked about is not there at all in the cold weather and that's the saffron and green scent that in high heat goes bad. Definitely a great date night for fall and winter. 8.5/10

Nose Note #422 I first had Trussardi My Land and then this. Well, in the air (without comparing side by side) they are super similar to me, they kind of create the same image. It's has a lot of green grassy body with this interesting violet-like Fahrenheit leather (read: cucumber/gasoline accent). Just like I absolutely love Dior Fahrenheit, I love both of these CH Men and My Land. CH Men is much more bitter and has less sweetness to my nose then My Land (and depending on how you render sweetness, one could say there's no sweetness in neither of them), and actually reminds me of Nasomatto Absinth with this wormwood-bitter grass note, but it's not nearly as bitter and not really wormwood of course, but it's still feels similarly dry and bitter. My Land is much more "mass-market" and more likeable I'd say, it's easier to like. Again, if you compare them side by side I'd say the similarily is around 75%. I can't say if having both is redundant and which one is better. But My Land is cheaper! CH Men is definately a little stronger. 8.5, same I gave for My Land. With loving memory of Fahrenheit

To let you guys know, I have a gold cap bottle and I will do my review based off of that. This fragrance is very interesting. It has some facets that I really enjoy and some I do not. My absolute favorite part of this fragrance is the opening. That grassy sweet opening is so unique and is too die for. It smells like a piece of suede smothered in sugar and dragged through grass and violet. With that being said, the mid is not the best. It is a very sweet leathery fragrance that doesn't really excite me. I wish that grass note lasted longer. It is really fantastic. But, the base is where it shines again. That smooth Vanilla, Spice and Woods is really really nice. I love the Saffron note it in. I really love this fragrance. It is very unique for what it is. I can't wait to pull this bad boy out in cooler weather. If you are thinking about getting this. I would say go for it. Very pleasing, yes "mass appealing" but, also very unique so it will please the more experienced nose. It last quiet a long time on my skin as well. 6-8 hours with decent projection for the first hour or 2.

This review is on the orginal version with a red ribbon hanging in the front. At first spray, I definitely pick up a combo of sweet notes of sugar, vanilla and caramelized nutmeg. After it settles the sugar isn't as strong and I start to pickup hints of leather with a slight spicy undertone probably still coming from the nutmeg. For whatever reason I didn't pickup much of the amber or herbal notes of oakmoss and vertier. What I do pickup is a hint of violet which gives it that bitter vib to balance the sweet notes. If there's any suede, it lost in the complexity of this juice. It's amazing, I can take almost any juice from year's ago, today's version don't even stack up to the orginal version. That would explain why the older version are so much more. Not only is it hard to find, far more superior than anything today! Longevity and Sillage is excellent, at least 4-6 hours past arms length you are able to smell this juice. Excellent during the colder months. Once you spray it on your skin, the warmth of your body makes this juice dance. This is a definite keeper...9/10

I am surprised with the high rating given (and maintained) to CH Men for more than a decade after its release! Positively surprised, because this one reminds me of my perfume collection early days. And this is one of my first ones that I kept. And I kept only a few. This scent is gorgeous, moderate and assertive. Leathery, semi sweet, green and airy. Office friendly for mild, cool and even cold days. A real delight to the senses. There’s nothing “natural smelling” or photo realistic here. It’s a perfume that smells like a perfume, it's all about the blend. And it’s beautiful by its own means. I confess that I became kind of a niche snob through the years, but this one has a special place in my heart. I have the red ribbon, the silver cap, the golden cap, the one with the “ch” stamped... they all smell the exact same to my nose. I think my youngest bottle is from 2017. The only difference is that the ”grassy” aspect becomes more identifiable as the bottle gets a little older (after one year more or less). CH Men is a solid choice and still relevant. 9/10.

After my relationship with Aventus broke down, I emerged from our short affair broken hearted. And then, just when I needed new hope, along came CH Men and taught me how to love again. You see, CH Men is everything that Aventus was not. Where Aventus was attention seeking in public places, CH Men is charming and assertive without being loud. Where Aventus played hide and seek with my affections, CH Men is always there by my side. Where Aventus burned a hole in my pocket, CH Men (while not cheap) never takes me for a ride. It's not often that such a sweet talking sweet scent can sweep me off my feet like this. Allure was just too cosmetic and shallow. La Nuit D’Homme was, without meaning to sound like a snob, just too common, and One Million just too childish. And, well, I’d rather not dwell on Aventus. Call me a fool but for now I am head over heels with CH Men’s naturally beguiling sugar cane juice vibe, the cuddly saffron, tobacco, leather and vanilla drydown, and don’t get me started on the longevity! I think I’ll spend all winter with her.

So, don’t worry—apply liberally. Age range that is more appropriate for wearing this is ages 27-70 years old, I think any younger for most men this fragrance would likely be a mismatch. This is gorgeous. Just gourgeous. Delicious, modern and enticing masculine scent perfect for dewy spring mornings in May. Or late summer nights in northern Europe. It's a 5/5 that's all I will say about it as a scent. The kind of eau de toilette that gives me a brain climax during the introduction phase (like D&G The One edt). By the way, I am notorious for detecting reformulations as soon as they appear but this gives impression of being stronger in 2020 than back in around 2010. Not very common, but it makes sense since they haven't actually gone the route of milking this with "intense" and "essenza" versions. I sprayed a tester on my wrist around 12.00 pm and I can still detect the sweet leathery base at 20:30 pm - no joke. Sure it's close to skin for the majority of that time but it is a fresh kind of scent so it's a job well done in my book. Try spraying your shirt with it and get those lovely top notes for hours and hours.

8/10 smell only i love the smell i really do opens up fruity green and im talking about the latest version without the ribbon yeah it still has a grassy aspect to it it's definitely not so leathery it's more a sugary smooth leather, or suede should i say not as leathery as fahrenheit or tuscan leather not even close to me it's definitely a all year round scent it's synthetic, sweet but not choking at all at least to my nose same ballpark as sauvage to me (smell has nothing to do with sauvage though) longevity on clothes : great BUT it stays so close to my clothes or skin that you could barely smell it after 20min havent smelled momentum intense so... all in all this is a synthetic (not in a bad way) kinda fresh spicy typical male scent reminiscent of the greenish frutiness of 212 but this one is more serious yet not so mature

Previously I was testing Armaf Excellus which went from "ok" through a maturation/maceration phase to a high "like"; researching the fragrance deeper it appeared that more experienced fragheads than myself pegged Excellus as being ~80% CH Men EDT instead of a 1:1; it's fairly inexpensive on discounters so I grabbed it and almost immediately noticed that the difference is probably more substantial. Sweet grassy mixed citrus open that get peppery near the tail end, chalk full of floral spices that you can't stop sniffing on your skin, and then there's the base. Have you ever eaten candied bacon? The base is candied vanilla leather, served on one of those huge outdoor wooden tables used at Oktoberfest. Excellus was a high like, this is a love. I think it's seductive af for intimate situations.

The smell of this is great. Everyone will like it. It is my favorite scent. It is def masculine. Can be worn for any occassion except for something like to the beach or swimming. The smell gives me the sense of an office vibe and a cowboy vibe at the same time. The performance is bad. Doesn’t last long, maybe 5 hours at most. Doesn’t project well. The silage is okay if it’s windy out and you’re kinda close to someone they will get whiffs of it. The reason I made this was to say this cologne can be worn all year around since it’s not strong and the smell is not something that is going to make you sick. It can he worn in the highest of heat even though it is not masculine. It will probably only make it project better. So yeah, don’t believe the low rating for summer. It is for every season

Smells like you took cooking sugar that hasn't browned into caramel yet, add vanilla and a smooth suede, a touch of saffron, clean woods and nutmeg. Very sweet but light and airy at the same time so it isn't cloying at all unless you sprayed it 10 times in 90 degree temps. Great scent, just wish it projected more. In my experience I seem to get similar performance to Dolce and Gabbana The One EDT. Since this does the same thing I guess it isn't terrible if you're using it as a date scent or cuddle type scent, just don't expect to catch attention from 10 feet away. Scent: 9/10. One of my favorite sweet scents Longevity: 6.5/10.. 5-6 hours Sillage: 5/10.. Arm's length for an hour or so, then it becomes a close conversation scent. If they did a true EDP of this scent it would be magic.

Man, that leather is so dominant and sooo awesome! Most scents using this leather note don't dare to use so much of it, but I'm glad they did in this scent. I much prefer this over CH Prive and honestly I can't see why people are so hooked on Prive when this is so much better! Also, some years back, I sampled the red ribbon version, and I actually prefer the newer version. One word of warning though, I've had the chance to sample at least a dozen bottles of this scent (newer version) and I have noticed that the scent will shift a little bit from batch to batch, much like YSL La Nuit de L'homme has a bit of the same type of batch variation. I'm not saying that it's worth going after any one batch versus another, it's just something worth mentioning.

Ignore any negative reviews about this.... This scent is stunning and is massively under rated. It has a beautiful sweet saffron vibe with a touch of leather. Actually a pretty versatile scent but I feel this leans fall/winter evening/ night time mostly. There is nothing that smells quite like this and it will get you mega attention and compliments. Performance is actually pretty decent, not beast mode but better than D&G the One. It really sticks to your clothes like La Nuit de L'homme does. In the date night category this competes with the big hitters like La nuit de L'homme and Dolce Gabanna the One and for CH to do that just wow. More unique than those two too. This borders on niche quality in terms of the scent profile.

CH Men is a true joker fragrance in my collection—easy to wear, versatile, and suitable for almost any occasion throughout the year. To give it more depth and a richer seasonal feel, I personally layer it with Absolute Oud.
