Emerald Musk

Contrary to popular belief, this fragrance HAS NOT been discontinued. It is however, very hard to find and i believe is a Harrod’s Exclusive (in the UK at least). That being said if you can test it you absolutely should. This fragrance is so unique and has an almost mysterious feel to it. It’s a beautiful leathery musk fragrance that doesn’t over-do either of the former whilst also having a slightly sour floral twist to it that also isn’t too sour to the point of being obnoxious. I think if you are someone who isn’t usually a fan of leather or musky notes in your fragrances then you could still also really enjoy this as i find the floral notes mix really well to create something a bit less over the top and slightly sensual. I can see this being more of a date night/dress up event type fragrance for me as the longevity of the fragrance is my biggest criticism outside of the price and availability. I was able to smell it extremely clearly on a tester strip for 48+ hours but on skin the scent fades faster and i struggle to sense it after around 4-5 hours. Not bad by any means but not great either. On the initial spray i noticed that you do leave a pleasant scent trail for the first 30-45 minutes which then evolves into a more intimate scent bubble for the next few hours, before gradually becoming a skin scent. It does cost a lot for the bottle. I think i paid around £265 for 100ml, however as previously mentioned it is a very unique scent (to my knowledge) so maybe you can justify it. Either way it’s not going to be for everyone due to the price alone but it’s definitely worth testing if you can. 9/10

Powdery, leathery, and floral at its core, Emerald Musk carries an elegance that feels both refined and approachable. The musk is present but softer than I’d prefer, leaving space for the orris and rose to play against a supple leather backdrop. There’s a subtle dry, almost sour facet running through the composition that gives it texture and intrigue. To my nose, it echoes Amouage Imitation Man, though this is a far more polished interpretation. Where Imitation leaned toward a plasticky, doll-like effect, Emerald Musk smooths those edges into something rich, classy, and undeniably sophisticated. It wears with pride and presence, and I’m glad to have it in my collection.

Another excellent release from this line! This has the same leather note as platinum leather, I smell some orris, no rose and some amber sweetness. It reminds me a tiny bit of iris empire. The dry down is sweet musk. Edit 05/18/23- this appears to be discontinued now 😢

Iris powder, and vanilla musk... A blend of iris and powder as a conquered mix and underneath it is a vanilla amber musc with powdered cedar. Beautiful vanilla iris cedar blend that the musc is barely detected.

A powdery, leathery, spicy musk. Emerald Musk is a beautiful leathery scent. While it is called "musk" it is more leather than musk but only by a bit. From start to finish it is warm leather/musk scent, made spicier with pink pepper and powdery with non-lipsticky orris and rose. There is also a touch of vanilla sweetness that lightens the scent's intensity. It is a really good scent but is it worth ~$300? I don't think so. Luckily, I am pretty sure I've smelled this at Ibrahim Al Qurashi. I think it was called Kashmir Musk and sold for ~$100. Anyway, price tag aside, Emerald Musk is a beautiful warm musky leather scent suitable for cool weather and the mature of both sexes. The performance is average from this, unfortunately. Big "Like" but pass due to the price.

This is a very nice, well blended Iris and leather fragrance. With that being said, I do find the name to be a bit misleading since I don't pick up on much musk. The oris in this is very reminiscent of what you find in Iris Empire. Lipstickey, dressed up and elegant. To me it is unisex, perhaps leaning just a touch masculine. A rich, evening/date night kind of fragrance that will do quite well in cooler weather.

Just like the review below says, it’s apparently not been discontinued because I saw it pop up on the Harrods website while browsing earlier today. I bought this fragrance months back when it was allegedly discontinued and it was quite a hunt to find a bottle but I did and I was so excited. I honestly thought I had reviewed it already but guess I didn’t. Sadly though it wasn’t for me but not because it’s bad, quite the opposite, it’s quite nice but too masculine for me so I sold my bottle but I think it’s a very well done leather heavy, rosey, orris, musk scent. I didn’t think the leather would be as prominent as it was, leather is a note I like in men’s fragrances but not on myself. Still, it is very well done and the leather is smooth.

Love. The name made me think I was getting a musl dominant fragrance, but to me the musk is in the background. I have been using this sparingly since it is discontinued (just why) but I love her. Leather is tough for me, but this is so smooth and beautifully done. I really do not get any rose here, but the orris is beautifully represented. If you find one being decluttered, get it! And then send it to me😁

I had to purchase this from Harrods and paid the hefty shipping cost. All the others from this line are online from Fragrancex if anyone is interested.

Oh I will buy this in the near future. Too bad I will have to buy it from the UK and pay that hefty shipping fee.
