Good Girl Glorious Gold Collector Edition

Okay, let's make this clear. Despite CH claims that this is the exact same perfume as the original one, it isn't. It is very close to the original, but this one has a bit more vanilla in it and less of the 'masculine' notes some depict and either like the original for it or don't. I have a 30ml bottle of the original made in 2017 (so no reformulations there), I have the original 100ml bottle made in 2020 and I have the legere also made in 2020. Legere is a different perfume but still keeping the character of the original, however it is creamier and a tad fruitier -you can definitely tell these perfumes apart. Now, the original 2017 and 2020 bottles are basically the same perfume (perhaps the 2017 is a bit headier and more intoxicating, but I can only assume that is because the perfume has sat there after spraying it and mellowed in time. In fact, I prefer it now than when I first bought it which still, back then I really liked it, but now, I love it. I have sprayed all 4 perfumes on paper to make sure and between the 2017,2020 and the gold one the gold is definitely a bit more 'vanillic'. The 2020 is a bit more on the masculine notes, and the 2017 is to my nose the best of the bunch where I pick all the smokey yummy sexiness, without the off-putting -for some- masculine notes (which -on the 2017 version, can be smelled only if you stick your nose on your skin and start continuously inhaling). The masculine notes however on the 2020 are more recognisable right from the start - a bit more prominent, but no big deal here as both juices are really similar. So, to conclude: latest version of the original - a bit sharper and with a more prominent masculine notes, gold edition version-a bit more vanillic and softer, original 2017 version (prob.pre-reformulation or mellowed over time perhaps)-smokier,sexier, more balanced. All in all, you can't go wrong. All of these perfumes, including the more gourmand legere are beautiful, but if you are put off by the masculine notes of the latest original one, try the gold one on, and if it isn't still your cup of tea, go for the creamier legere one. ps:I find the gold bottle tacky, and for those wondering if the gold sparkles are embedded in the glass bottle, they are not.You can actually feel them on the surface, but they are very well glued on (you won't have glitter/sparkle on your hands or anything, even if you try -lol). The gold glitter isn't thankfully too yellow, as this would really make it even tackier, it is a more real gold yellow tint, but personally, I would have preferred it if it was even less yellow than it is (kind of silver-yellow) and of course if it was embedded as a part of the bottle instead of actually feeling the thick glued sparkle in your hand. In general I feel all the Carolina Herrera bottles are prettier in the 30ml version or even better the 50ml version which is the middle size, as the 30ml is beautiful and elegant, but the heel is the cap which gets removed, whereas in the 50 and 100ml versions, the heel and upper part of the perfume is the sprayer itself.

I have the Carolina Herrera Good Girl Légère and I must say I like the Légère more than this flanker. I can really smell the similarities between Légère and Glorious Gold. Légère is very bright, sweet, and lactonic while the GG has more coffee and vanilla with tuberose, praline, and sandalwood. 🥰🥰

I have the original version, and I can tell this new presentation is very similar but not exactly the same. I do perceive a bit more of vanilla and coffee, but these two notes are kind of fleeting and the tuberose/praline/sandalwood remain the strongest through the development of the scent on my skin. I don't get a lot of projection, maybe 1 arm lenght for the first 3-4 hours, then it is more subtil but not exactly a skin scent. I like it but I am afraid they have made more efforts to have memorable bottles than a memorable scent. I bought a full bottle blindly, thinking it was going to be a bombastic seductive scent way better than the original..but nope. It feels almost generic, more of the same. I will keep my bottle, it is a pretty scent, I just feel underwhelmed.

I actually kind of like this version of the bottle. Looks ideal for gifting! If anyone wonders if this is the same fragrance as the normal bottle - which just about always happens when fragrantica creates a new fragrance page for each and every of these Good Girl collector bottles - yes, it is. From the fragrantica article introducing the fragrance: "Following the huge popularity of the debut, the brand launches collectible editions of the stiletto-shaped flacon without changing the composition that has won the hearts of many fans of modern gourmands." "The composition remains unchanged and is signed by perfumer Louise Turner." So if you are searching for reviews on this fragrance, most of them you will find on the original Good Girl page. In case you already tried Good Girl, it's the same fragrance.

@zotykiel that's an interesting observation. i've seen similar experiences on other of the collector bottle pages. As to the offical company statement for the advertising material it is the original unchanged Good Girl formulation. HOWEVER, i can imagine that if you happen to compare it to a Good Girl bottle of an older/different batch you might actually end up getting a different scent impression as companies reformulate their fragrances all the time without telling us. Ideally one should buy an original Good Girl bottle that is of the same or as close as possible manufacturing date as this collector bottle and compare that one with it, plus an older bottle for reference.

Has that brash salty note in it, I can't figure out what it's from by looking at the listed notes, but it reminds me of the dried salted sour plums you can buy at Chinese grocery stores, similar to Thierry Muglier's "Womanity"

@latafan I just sprayed Good Girl on one hand and Good Girl Gold Collector Edition on another. This is definitely different fragrance. Gold one is way bolder and more interesting.

Good Girl Glorius Gold has no pears ??? Because I feel in the opening achords of juicy pears, floral notes combined with sweet pralines and a touch of coffee.
