Herrera For Men

A unique experience is advertised from the first moment, when a blast of rosemary confuses your nose- it is certainly al zaatar al jabal, but its usual resinous quality is completely absent. Then comes the softest of lavenders and nerolis, made even more gentle by the greenness of the rosemary; and, finally a lemon. This lemon bears some consideration. It is not a sweet lemon, nor is it a sharp lemon, nor is it soft like an amalfi lemon. It is a dry lemon; dry not in the sense of the opposite of sweet but the scent of lemon zest and pulp, completely absent any of the bitter white pith, perfectly dried and preserved without any addition of the smell of dessiccation or age. The chemistry of this note is amazing and its endurance throughout the life of this scent is a remarkable olfactory achievement that by itself would put this scent in the top class of perfumes. However, the foregoing is but a too brief first five or ten minutes at best, a moment for a gentleperson to enjoy in contemplation while he (or she) accomplishes their toilette. And now this review shall digress. It has required three full wearings for me to even contemplate writing about this scent. In large part this is because considering this scent has ensconced in my mind's eye the image of a three foot high creature that looks something like a giant, long necked hamster, with an enlongated muzzle and awkwardly long legs terminating in oddly splayed three toed feet. This creature is my memory of an illustration in an elementary school textbook of the hypothetical creature that stood in the evolutionary line between that generic rat like protomammal and the earliest identifiable ancestor of the horse. It came to my mind because when I think of Carolina Herrera scents, I think of the club blaster 212 series or the sugar bomb CH edition. But Carolina Herrera for Men is, from its pyramid and place in time, a traditional gentlemen's perfume. But within it are the genetics of something more, the capacity for explosion into the loud and unabashed 21st century all night rave silage monster is plainly there and the tension between the traditional structure and the explosive potential gives this scent a delicious tension and makes it crackle with human electricity. Geranium and clover introduce the middle phase of this perfume. The clover is dry, much like the clover silage one would feed a lucky horse in its winter stable, and with the continuing green from the rosemary the geranium is stripped of its floral aspect. It is there, it is delicious, but it is not in the least bit floral. The single note of the dry clover then begins to expand, joined by alight dry tobacco, a refined pale leafy scent reminiscent of the shade grown Connecticut leaves used for wrapping fine cigars. This is a tobacco whose purpose is not to distract from other more important scents, but to bind them together and play a supporting role. The stage is now set, a small stable on a Connecticut estate, gotten ready for a prized steed but not yet occupied by any animal, decorative plantings of geraniums, warm bales of clover, a nearby bard hanging the summers cash crop of tobacco. And onto this stage come the stars of the show; the lemon suddenly returns in a joyful reprise and escorts onto the stage the true protagonist of the first act: the cloves. This clove note is soft and almost sweet, lacking the sharp or anesthetic quality of the cloves in mincemeat or a christmas ham, comprable in quality if not volume to the soft clove note in Amouage's Memoir Woman. The middle notes, once in their order, are left to themselves by the slow retreat of the green element of the rosemary and present a scent that is perfectly balanced between the almost sweet of the gernaium, lemon and clove and the dry yellow leaves of the clover and the tobacco. The final stage of this perfume starts at the very outset of the middle act and is very much the reason this review required several visitations. At first I thought the clover had a slightly animalic quality. Almost undetectable at first, there seems to be something in that dry fodder that seizes the attention of the most primitive parts of the olfactory system, raising an alarum that you are in the presence of the ichors of something that moves and breathes and consumes other living things. This aspect slowly grows over time until one can distinguish it from the clover, this is the ambergris- salty, organic and sexual. As the sexual tension rises, the geranium, the clove, the clover, the tobacco bid farewell- pleasant company but third wheels for the final act. As the supporting cast leaves the stage, the wood reveals itself. The notes say sandalwood, but this is not like any other sandalwood I know. The soapy element is completely absent, and it is rich and strong, reminding me of a real cedar, not some ISO super E similacrum, but the real heartwood of a mighty tree that saw the fall of empires in its antiquity. And there returning without fanfare, as if it never left, alongside the mighty wood, the erotic ambergris, again one senses the delicious lemon and the quit chorus of cloves. And this scent, perhaps aware of its own magnificence, does not leave the stage until escorted off with a good shower. This is, perhaps, the best "date" scent in my collection. An opening that puts one in a pleasant and cheerful frame of mind, a middle that exudes geniality and good manners, all the while slowly and inexorably transitioning into a final act of restrained eroticism and quiet strength. Carolina Herrera for Men makes the point of the evening's programme quite clear, though subtly and with manners that are, perhaps, as dated as myself. Its descendants, the VIP series and other analogues, dispense with the manners and the subtlety, making quick introductions and swiftly negotiating their ultimate ends. And with this, we return to our poor splay toed furry friend. Carolina Herrera for men is not some quaint missing link in the genealogy of men's fragrances. It is the powerful wild horse of the Asian steppes, strength and beauty befitting no purpose other than its own magnificence. From this proud creature has been bred the swift but fragile racehorse, the powerful but plodding draft animals- each to their purpose but none as complete or dignified as their ancestor. I freely admit and qualify my review by stating that I now appear to be of that age when, suddenly, the mores and manners of my youth appear superior. I know this is an outstanding scent for a gentleman, and certainly it is appropriate for a gentleman to wear under almost any circumstances. I hate to label it mature, but will say it is most fitting upon someone who subscribes to a thoughtful and well paced approach to life. In short, a fragrance of the highest order.

I was so excited to acquire another bottle of this juice so many years later. Herrera for Men was first launched in 91'. When I was trying to finish post secondary, I splurged when money was tight and bought this FABULOUS frag. I remember the amazing aroma so I didn't know what notes were being used...I just loved it !!!!!! I walked into my usual frag store that carries frag which are no longer in production so when I came across Herrera for Men, I reminisce the memories of my younger years and recall how EXQUISITE this frag was from Herrera. Without any hesitations I bought a 100ml and wore it that same day. When I sprayed it, I could pick up the aroma of neroli which is very distinct accompanied by lemon, lavender and the herbal aroma of rosemary. After it settled it took on a more woodsy/floral base from sandalwood, tobacco and geranium. When It completely settled it had a beautifully aroma of a herbal/sweetened scent giving it overall a warm/spicy aroma. I find longevity excellent..well past 8hrs. I also find Sillage to be excellent, if you know this frag you certainly know when someone is wearing it !!! Overall opinion, I don't want to sound redundant, this frag is EXQUISITE. I found that this frag is one of a few that could worn all year round. I don't find it to be overbearing at all, I have used it during the daytime at work as well during the eve when you are with your special partner and it might heighten your night....you know !!!. It's been several weeks now and I must of had at least 8-10 complements from women who didn't recognize this frag but found it very interesting. Final note, I now have from Carolina Herrera 212 for Men 2011, CHIC for Men 04', CH for Men 09' and now the CLASSIC HERRERA FOR MEN 91'. I use them all and enjoy the variety that Herrera has offered. The 91' bottle is now part of my signature frag's.....EXCELLENT Herrera 10/10, 5 stars !!!!!!!

carolina herrera for men smells definitely like a freshly opened pack of cigarettes. very herbal with a strong note of tobacco. u can feel also something like geranium and clove with neroli and bergamot in the opening, but the tobacco is the leader of the fragrance. it's refined and uber masculine, ch for men reminds me someone well-dressed, serious, a bit surly like h. bogart. the blend is abosolutely well-made, it comes from the 90's but it has something from the 80's. on my skin is quite strong in the first hours, then became more gentle. absolutely for fall and winter, better for people over 30-35. for casual but not playful situations. it takes time to be appreciated, a young man can find it too dated and complicated, so be careful for a blind buy. overall, i dont think it is a compliment magnet or a sexy smell, but ch for men is something different from the current offering and maybe someone can find it attractive for the super masculine vibe. if i have to pick something similiar my choices are trussardi inside and versace the dreamer. they are not identical but play in the same league: ch for men is more serious, trussardi inside is more elegant, versace the dreamer more artistic. for mature, elegant gentlemen! profumo molto mascolino, dominato dal tabacco e qualche note lieve di agrumato. elegante e serio al tempo stesso, lo consiglio a uomini dai 35 in su, seri ma con buon gusto nel vestire. original vs reform- the review is based on the original formula, box with yellow dots, short list of ingredients. the original is stronger and dense, but i found the current version very good too. the reform is weaker and more synthetic, but more modern and less in your face, better for people of nowadays. scent-8,5 long-8 sillage-8 versatility-7 uniqueness-8,5 bottle-8,5 compliment factor-7 rebuy?no my vote- 8 in one word- cigarette alternative- trussardi inside

It may not be an old cologne, of those classics that date back to the 70’s, for example, but is undoubtedly a classic of the male perfumery, in the less literal and more extensive sense of the word. It was created in 1991, not just by one, but by two illustrious renowned perfumers: Rosendo Mateu (Puig, Carolina Herrera, Antonio Banderas, Paco Rabanne, etc.) and Carlos Benaim (Bvlgari, Avon, Cacharel, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc.). It contains notes of neroli, Lavender and leaves of citrus fruits, in the output; geranium, clove and green pepper leaves, in the heart and sandalwood, amber and tobacco, at the base. Some people say that there are also notes of fern (at the top) and cedar (at the base of the fragrance). The scent is strong, elegant and classic without being dated. It has a leathery and dry aspect as soon as applied on the skin. I consider it linear, because it only loses a little of the dry aspect, getting slightly creamy and woody, but not enough to have diversified facets. The projection is deceptive because it is very good, although it seems that is no longer working. But some people claim that it was stronger in the past. The bottle is beautiful and although I don't have the knowledge about the inspiration, some say that it was made to resemble a tie (it makes sense). The spray is quite generous! Finally, it is a scent that fell in limbo in recent years, staying below the radar, but that remains an excellent choice for the man who doesn't give up a beautiful and mature male scent in his collection.

The very first Carolina Herrera fragrance for men, and to this day it's still the most enigmatic and complex of them all. After 30+ years this is still in production, which is quite remarkable for an industry that overflows of redundant flankers and generic freshies. This is a smooth tobacco scent with a clean musky lavender accord, on a light sandalwood base. Classic and mature. It does carry shade of a classic fougère structure. Lots of interesting nuances here, from something tea-like to a really balanced use of cloves. What amazed me at first sniff was how surprisingly close to tobacco this is — way more than other more praised 'tobacco' scents that were kind of a disappointment to me (e.g. Pure Havane/Aramis Havana, which are great but don’t remind me of tobacco that much). I managed to find a 90's formulation where it's written 'eau de toilette' on the bottle, in contrary to the newer productions where it's just written 'Herrera for Men'. It's an absolute masterpiece by Carlos Benaim and Rosendo Mateu. Even after all those years the quality of the juice has remained in such pristine condition with the juice being thick and incredibly potent. Even after showers I'm still catching whiffs off of my wrists. This is the type of 'masculine scent' I very much enjoy, and even if that term has been the subject of some comments in recent years, this is to be regarded as a relic from the pre-political correctness-era.

This one , is one of few fragrances that I never forgot its smell , I smelled it early 90's when I was very young, my father had one and forgot it in some place, completely, so I had founded it and smelled it and immediately fall in love with it , after more than 25 years I decided to buying a bottle online, and I was so excited to smell it again , and after I had received it at work , I take it to private place and opened the box , immediately knew the new " old " looking bottle that is so simple , and just opened it and spray it on my hand and I took a sniff, WOOOOW ..... this is beautiful smell, I know fragrances reformulated over years , and I red reviews about how reformulation ruin fragrances, but NO , I am sure the new Herrera changed a bit coz reformulation, and replacing natural ingredients with synthetic ones , but it is almost the same smell as I remember it . I smelled it since 25+ years and never smell it since then until I bout one past summer ... if the smell is changed a lot , I would notice that .. It takes me immediately to childhood memories.. I love it and wearing it , actually I run more than the half of the bottle, just for a few months and I will buy it again ... I got some complements ,from my co workers , and from my cousins " girls " .. So despite it is old now but you wouldn't feel it that way... really pleasing scent ...

..... PDM Sedley??? Yes yes indeed very much so . Starts off more like channel platinum egoist then transforms to sparkling effervescent citrusy lavender minty concoction very much like the backbone of Sedley. Very similar vibe. When considering the price vs originality ,.. this CH for men is the clear winner in my book. . This isn’t going to be for everyone obviously, but for me it’s a new found treasure from way back in the way back Time Machine . If Sedley was around back in the 90’s it probably would have cost as much as this CH cost today. Very affordable and equally enjoyable. If you like one you’ll love the other . If you wanna throw the full weight of your money around go for the PDM, but if you just wanna smell like this, go for the CH. for reference, my bottle of CH is of the new current batch. Zero complaints, zero regrets year round versatility. But wait.... There’s more.. You will also get pops of a really nice tobacco note , and then some times a frequent hit of what appears to be similar to creed Himalaya !!! This fragrance is a damn masterpiece!!!!! THE END

This was the fragrance that got me into fragrances. From the moment I smelled it from a little fold out sample in the pages of a Summer'93 GQ magazine it was love at first sniff! I got into so much wonderful trouble during the late nineties wearing this - ah the memories. I gave up on this fragrance in about 2004 after what I now realise was a gone bad/fake bottle, smelled horrible, nothing like that wonderful bright opening I loved. Really heavy on a stale tobacco smell. Just bought another bottle this week from Perfume Click and couldn't be happier! I would say it's a very slightly dialled down (95%) of what I remembered. That bright opening is there, the tobacco is fresh and more in the background as per the original and it lasts a good 6+ hours. There was still a trace the next morning. It may have been reformulated but this is still a gem. If you fancy a trip down memory lane with a fragrance that is still relevant I can recommend Herrera for Men. I know Perfume Click are selling authentic bottles at £52 so can only point you in their direction.

I tried this on a trip to Spain and I was deeply moved. This is the epitome of sophistication. It smells very mature, big money lifestyle and also the exquisite taste (that the money can't buy). All while being non-offensive and fresh. It is on the greener side for sure. Undeniably similar to XS which I also like, but this strikes a better balance between smoke and freshness where XS is louder, brash and more smoky, which annoyed me in the end and made me sell the bottle. Now I am thinking about getting this. I thank the gods for this being available still. This is a steal smellwise, you pay low dollar for a scent that smells like a millionare on a yacht. It's maybe best "dated" scent I smelled tbh. I get a huge library of references from this; it's green like 212, actually similar. But it has a great big mix of XS from Paco, mixed with Dreamer, also Tommy by Hilfiger and Ck Truth and other CK frags like Euphoria. All the great green frags of the nineties lives in this. Nostalgic freshness.

Loved "Herrera for men" from the moment I was first exposed to it on my closest friend. I thought WTHeck, I'll get some for myself b/c he wears lot's of different fragrances(thus we wouldn't have on same cologne often). I'm not very experienced w/all the terms I see used to describe scents, so my review will be very "amateur", but hopefully real and my personal take on it. I love that it has a masculine scent that has layers to it and morphs as you have it on your skin longer. Fresh, manly, woody, lightly musky also somewhat sweet but not unisex to me are words I'd use for it. Sophisticated and definitely, to me, a high end designer fragrance. If you've not given this 'oldie but goodie"(some might say "oldie") a chance, I highly recommend it! Also you can get it for more affordable prices if you look a bit, I guess in part b/c it's not new and been around for a while. Doesn't mean it's not great b/c it truly is!!

This fragrance is an absolute gem. A lot of people are saying it's been reformulated and weaker - which may be true, as I never bought an older style. That said, I cannot imagine what caustic substance that must have been, because this stuff in 2022 still lasts forever. Like, over 8 hours. The smell is hard for me to put into words. If I had to put it short and 'good enough', I'd say the dry down is like a lemony soap. But not in a bad way. It's a very pleasant smell. What's probably most interesting to me is how they've done the tobacco. You get the fresh tobacco mid notes, but somehow obliterated the sweet syrupy top with lemon. And that's masterfully done... taking the best parts from fresh tobacco and hiding the bad parts. If I could change one thing, I wish they'd make a version with strong wood basenote in to balance out the citrus a little. I find myself spraying this over an oud and absolutely loving it.

Recently re-purchased for the first time, ever since I was 16 y/o in 1992 when my parents got me one as a gift. I have recently smelled some 1990s fragrances and the vast majority are terribly outdated (Eternity, Le Male), but Herrera For Men has incredibly stood the test of time, it smells classy and mature yet not old. What you get here is a citrusy-floral opening, really nice. Unfortunately the floral notes don't last long, and you end up with bitter lemon/soapy mix in the dry down. Very masculine and well done, it projects success , maturity and authority. This is NOT a date scent, but rather something you'd wear for a party, wedding, to go to the pub or to an outdoors event. I would avoid using in in high heat or to the office, as it might be too sharp for some people in an closed space. You cannot dress it down as this is more of a formal fragrance. Men from 25 y/o and above can rock this with confidence.

A masterpiece by Carlos Benaim who created a legendary fragrance for the renowned Venezuelan American designer Carolina Herrera. This is really the only men's fragrance in her collection worth owning if you want to exude sophistication..like a well dressed flâneur. If you want to enjoy smelling like synthetic cannabis, you may want to take a look (sniff) at Bad Boy. No thank you. This was released in the era before Chavismo, and Venezuela was reaping the capitalistic benefits of their prominent oil industry. Affluent men in Caracas who enjoyed their daily morning espresso, and newspaper, would have worn this as a final touch to their wardrobes (aside from possibly CK Eternity, or YSL Kouros). Rumor has it that the scent profile in collaboration with Carlos Benaim used to create this composition was inspired by Reinaldo Herrera Guevara, the aristocratic husband of Carolina Herrera. this is an interesting find and a hidden gem. while not classified as a fougere, it has the core elements of a barbershop fragrance. to that extent, it borrows from d&g pour homme, but way more aromatic and leafy. that one is clean, like fresh dried laundry, so in a calming attractive way, whereas this has the same idea, but adds more spice and it's way more heavier on the tobacco. if that is suited for a more mature gentleman, this is for that same gentleman, but 10 years prior to that time. on the atomizer, it smells quite peppery, green, and pungent. but once sprayed on skin, it breathes beautifully. it opens with fresh, aromatic florals before settling into a masculine woodiness with a great leafy, spicy tobacco drydown. for the price and how it smells, this is an easy decision. it has decent projection and even longevity. it's a dumb fall reach when the heat of the summer really winds down.

Nose Note #620 It's not like Sedley, this gas stronger aromatic side, has tobacco. And it's not like XS pour Homme. CH For Men is far more superior to XS which smells cheap to my nose and has this vegetable greenness and hand soap quality to it. Smelling them side by side right now - I can't even say if they are any similar. Of course, both are aromatic fougeres and come from the same era, but this has such nice tobacco and it somehow reminds me of DG The One, but not literally. CH For Men is also slightly sweet. I will just say shortly - this one is a masterpiece. Let's put it this way. You'll love it if you like: Sedley, XS Pour Homme, The One, Bentley fragrances, Ferragamo fragrances Upd. after 6 months: Now I'd describe it as a mix between XS Rabanne and D&G The One EDT, but more so XS Rabanne. My wife just loves it. 9.5/10, just what I love

I just received a beautiful box: an eau de toilette and an after shave balm - an amazing gift, I wish you to have the occasion (i.e. chance) to verify on your own skin. Carrera Pour Homme is a wonderful perfume, even in its present formulation. It smells like the '90, of course, but masters Mateu & Benaim are a guaranty by themselves. As I sometimes say - an aroma of an age when a man used to smell like a man. A woody floral with a solid tobacco, the best from a lemon and rosemary as it needs. If you love Ralph Lauren's Safari of Rabanne's XS, you know the sound - but, in its way, is older and better than both. The longevity is perfect and the sillage... is up to you. A confidence giver for all seasons - but especially good for a summer afternoon, chatting with a lady, with some ice melting (on something...) in a glass. A deserved 9/10.

"There are smells for men & there is the smell of men" That should be this slogan of this fragrance! Herrera for men is one of the most beautiful, elegant, masculine, romantic smell you may ever smelled. It is the best "masculine" smell I've ever smelled! It starts with a woody-dominated citrusy smell, drys down to a peaceful romantic yet masculine smell, where the tobacco note starts to reveal itself. Finally it ends with floral-tobacco smell that is elegant enough, yet not pretentious. Perfection. To me, it is a piece of heaven. This is a frag you put it for the better side of you. "Over Armani Code Any Day" With all the respect for the legend of Giorgio Armani. I didn't like the longevity, considering its price. It doesn't matter, the couple of hours with it on me is the recommended amount elegance per day.

Review below kinda nails the issue for customers that are familiar with the original. It has become a fragrance for what or when? Signature, light office fragrance, I suppose? I would not say this is being "marketed" compared to other Herrera offerings - it's hanging by a thread on the company website and perhaps 1 dept store - but the original DNA is certainly more in tune with cooler temperatures that demand some weight. If Puig EdP'd this, they'd reconnect with a mature audience, and - coupled with Bad Boy - be able to offer a 1-2 punch at retailers...if that simply meant renaming the Concentree(White bottle) version other reviewers have alluded to, great, I'd be all in at $100-$120. And don't forget the Rosemary this time, that's why Chanel tried to clone HfM in the first place.

Herrera for Men was the first fragrance I ever bought for myself. This scent was the catalyst for my obsession with fragrance. I hadn't owned a bottle in years, so I recently purchased one, and I'm glad I did. As soon as I sprayed it, it was like revisiting an old friend. I like it even better now because it suits me more, now that I am older. It is way different than most of the colognes I smell on guys now. This fragrance is complex and grown-up. Initially, it is a blast of spices, herbs, and citrus. The drydown is all tobacco, cloves, and sandalwood with a little lavender in the background. I used to think of this as a night-time scent, but now I feel comfortable wearing this anytime. Love Herrera for Men. This is an essential for me.

Smells like if you had a brand new pack of Marlboro Lights in your grandma's laundry room, and after removing the cellophane and wrapper, you stuffed your nose on top of the cigarettes and took a big whiff. Starts with an aromatic lemony/dryer sheet lavender composition, but the dry down is the most mild, pleasing, clean spice, clove-y tobacco aromatic delight. Not earthy or green. Fresh, clean. A unique signature scent that isn't a blue freshie, sweet vanilla, or heavy green that can be worn daily, anywhere. A successful man's second skin, doesn't smell like a "cologne". Post reformulation fragrance is still very good. Performance is not bad, not decent, but also not great. It's good. Great value. Top 5 favorite atomizer

30 yrs In My Arsenal and it'll NEVER Leave. I've been wearing this since I was in college when it was released and I'd never stop wearing it. The opening is bright clean and very refreshing. This scent was decades ahead of the curve and is still super relevant and wearable today. The mid is smooth and slowly introduces the base notes with the ambergris and tobacco finally settling in to carry thru the dry down. Simply beautiful, satisfying perfumery. The cost on this is stunning for how good this fragrance is and I'm actually stunned at how far under the radar this frag has been for so long. It's not a beast frag but it's a bit more subtle and alluring but for the money you just cannot go wrong here.

As somebody who was around the original formulation a lot, yes this has been reformulated BUT it's still really good and performance is still a decent 6-8 hrs. Nothing will ever compare the scent trail this used to have but by no means is this weak. Although I buy testers of other frags online, this is the only one I go to Dillards to pay the full price. I'm thinking those of you that say it doesn't last an hour are getting some old ollllldddd product. Anyways so the actual scent is classy perfection. Every woman I've met likes this. This is what a man wears not some trendy swag dude. It's really smooth tobacco with light citrus but it's very unique and complex.

Most of us will have an experience when we sniff something so beautiful you suddenly experience epiphany. This is what made me appreciate beautiful accords when I was younger. I will never forget this perfume as it's deeply imprinted in my olfactory memory. If I will create a perfume in the future. This will definitely be my benchmark. It's masculine. It has a statement without being too strong. Good longevity and sillage. Although I heard it has been reformulated that it became an impression. Luckily I have a good memory of the original smell that it still lingers just by looking at the bottle. Timeless and classic. Bravo to the creator of this perfume. 5/5

I don't think I could better describe what has already been said by others of this fragrance other than my own personal experience. I couldn't stop wearing it until the bottle was drained. I just felt self assured and confident wearing this. It's one of those fragrances you just KNOW is staying on you all day, like all CH perfume, like an extra layer of attitude- without the need for any body language. Eliminate posture, eye contact, stance, gestures and carriage; and Herrera for Men establishes your role in the world. Not an aggressive Alpha, but the Alpha who coolly glances up from his life to re-establish order. You know about the world. Get on with it.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. I understand people's anger with this current formulation's lack of "oomph", and I share in it...this is absolutely not what many of us signed up for with a bottle purchase, we know what the real thing was like. But that does not mean we can't take some pleasure in its basic "goodness", and you better believe Herrera for Men is still good. And still severely unique. The barest essence of it does yet remain, and while that may frustrate some even more, I can only smile and give thanks to CH, Misters Mateu and Benaim, and even to miserly old Puig for keeping this watered-down legend alive. Hail to the 90's!

This review is for the original. I understand hat it has be reconditioned. It is arguably one of the best men’s fragrances out there to date. It is strong with a touch or spice to lighten it up. Lasts very long, and women love to smell it on a man. Oozes confidence, success and charm. I am sensing tobacco, sandalwood, ginger, cloves, slight musk, green, a touch of lavender I am tempted to buy the reformulated product just to see how well (or badly) done it is. If you get a chance, try this. You will NOT regret it. Update: I bought the reformulated product. Rather disappointing. The scent is nowhere near as strong 😡 Rating: 9/10

Uno de los aromas que destacó en su tiempo y que gusta a todo el mundo. Hizo que Carolina Herrera se conociera entre la juventud de los noventa. Un aroma peculiar que no tiene muchos parecidos. Hoy en día sigue siendo muy agradable pero demasiado reconocible. Es primo hermano de CK ETERNITY, por su calidad comercial pero con la pega de estar muy olido. Para tenerlo en la colección y usarlo en días lluviosos nostálgicos. Si te gustan los aromas retro que marcaron su presencia con aromas reconocibles, no te puede faltar este Carolina for men., De los tres flankers este es el más usado y el que más recuerdos lleva en su mochila.

Absolutely adore this. Bought a bottle in about 1992 for my boyfriend but decided to keep it for myself because you never used to smell it on anyone; I'm glad I kept it. On a night out, another girl actually ran down the street after me, to ask what it was. Another time in a night club, two girls at the bar were discussing someones smell, they thought it was the guy next to them,but I tapped them on the shoulder and said "Is it this?" and gave them a waft...it was, and everytime they passed me they stopped me for another sniff! It was a very appealing scent to women and therefore my boyfriend never got his present!

It’s great scent, my favorite. It’s very masculine but delicate and gentle at the same time. It’ young, despite it’s over 20 years old and it doesn’t feel outdated (like some fragrances from that time, which makes you smell like old man when you wear them nowadays). It makes me feel better and more confident. Every good fragrance should work that way. I don’t think it’s for everyone and it’s different from what comes out in the recent time. Not everyone could appreciate it and this is a good thing, because it’s chosen only by the right guys and noticed by the right women... if that makes sense ;) peace

Love, love, love! like others this scent brings back memories. CH for men is the quintessential 90s fragrance forming the bridge between the uber masculine fragrances of the eighties and the sweeter concoctions of the 2000s. Let me be clear though, this is NOT a dated fragrance. the florals soften the scent. The tobacco and cloves keep it masculine. the overall effect is a heady, sexy yet very elegant scent. Like others, I feel this no longer projects as beastly as it did back in the day, but disagree with those that say that the scent itself has changed. Still good, still classy.

I got my hands on a vintage bottle, the box looks exactly like the picture here. this is a complete powerhouse, serious projection, the smell is an amazing woody, spicey and tobacco elegance. it does have a 90s feel, which reminds me of the vintage Dolce Gabbana Pour homme (made in Italy), they don't smell similar despite some similarities in notes but they both give you the feel of a designer 90s powerhouse that of a sexy stranger Italian man in an elegant brown suit with Fedora hat, and blue plaid overcoat. who catches everyone's eyes on the street, and can stop traffic.

Ancak bu parfümün kombin edileceği kıyafet iyi seçilmeli. Spor bir giyime yakışacağını sanmıyorum. Özellikle gece kullanımında çok iyi sonuçlar vereceğini düşünüyorum. 30 yaşın altındaki beylere de çok önermiyorum. Bu yaşın üzerindeki beylere daha çok yakışacaktır. Kalıcılığı çok başarılı ve kokunun farkedilirliği orta seviyede. Türkiye'de kokuyu hala bulmanız mümkün. Ancak bildiğimiz büyük zincir mağazalarda satılmıyor.

Carolina Herrera's Herrera was my signature scent for a decade. You get the light tobacco, spices, and rosemary. Though it is not listed, I get a hint of ginger. This fragrance smells magnificent. Performance is weak now with the reformulation, as it used to be a beast. I now get 4-6 hours with good projection. So it's not terrible, just not what it used to be. It's a great safe cologne and will garner lots of compliments from the ladies. It is an underrated gem. No longer my signature, but I will always have Herrera in my collection. 10 of 10.

One of my favourite edts. Spicy tobacco and woody. I agree with comments about the 'curry' impression, but I really don't mind. It's classy, and I'll always have a bottle. I think it may be one of those love or hate fragrances, so definitely try before buying. Personally I love it. EDIT: Unfortunately, another gem ruined by being watered down. I don't know whether it's for legal requirements or financial reasons, but the performance now is bleedin terrible. Shame.

Great fragrance, EXTREMELY manly. In an outdoorsy fresh 80s man kind of way. Like a man who was young in the 80s smelled in the 80s, not how a man who was young in the 80s smells as an old man. Great pickup for someone going for this vintage mustache man aesthetic that's becoming popular for men in their 20s/30s. Although i'm not a mustaches/mullets guy, I still enjoy this. For reference I'm 27 and my girlfriend who is 22 likes this a lot as well.

En su tiempo fue una de las más limpias y animálicas, sexy y sensuales de los noventa. Destacaba por su particular nota de neroli vibrante cargada de ámbar gris. Muy expansiva, llena habitaciones sin descomponerse. Un aroma que se ha quedado en el recuerdo de los noventa como un perfume fresco pero elegante y brillante, que gustaba a todo el mundo y que dio mucha visibilidad a la marca CH como una de las TOP comerciales.

Nostalgic scent for me. My Mom would buy me this for birthdays or christmas back in the day. In my teens back in the early 90's. 51 now, and this is still such an amazing scent. My mom would say, this scent would leave women saying "there goes a man", in spanish tho lol. I truly wish they would reformulate this into more longer lasting and more projection. If Lattafa ever duped this, I would buy gallons of it.

This is supremely great! My guy wears this and i just can't stop smelling him! It starts off with a slightly sharp rosemary and lavender-ish hit. But in a little while it has a wonderful soft tobacco undertone that just pulls me to him! Its elegant and masculine: it has a magnetic air of sophistication. And the lasting power is amazing!! I catch whiffs even after a good 8 hours. Great fragrance.

Tobacco goes so unexpectedly nicely with flowers, and this is a famous blend of those scents. It smells smooth and gorgeous, but the longevity of this really leaves something to be desired: I could barely smell it on me after two hours. Supposedly the original lasted much longer; if that's true, it's a shame it's lost its staying power, because this is a wonderful dandified fragrance otherwise.

Class and elegance. That is CH men for me. The latest formulation os more subtle but still retains the same green, fresh, tobacco scent that I always have loved. It was a beast before, now it’s a kitty but still a spectacular scent. And the best part?.....no one is using it, no one is talking about it, so you will stand out above the crowd of sweet tooth only colognes. Simply perfect!.

I just got the reformulated version of this. What can i say? Classy and sophiticated juice here Definitely a work/office scent Starts very fresh with rosemary, lavender and spices. It evolves into a warm woodsy drydown Masculine all the way, but not overwhelming... Renders lots of compliment Fixation in this newer version is mild to moderate, that's the only complaint

on me. it smells like money. been my fav for about 8 years now.. wish it lasted longer though. :( I could go on about all the spices and such that I smell in this but honestly, I think it smells different on everyone but it is worth a try since it is not a cliche or gimmicky frag... plus it doesn't smell too floral or fruity. why would a man want to smell like that?

One of the most amazing things I've ever smelled in my life. Even the newest bottles. I got my first bottle about 3 months ago, and it's already used up. Just received my second bottle. I will keep buying. Pure magic. The perfume houses really need to start creating new men's fragrances like this again. THIS is how it should be done!

i love it. one of my all time favourites.very masculine sexy and long lasting ..it reminds me of real men!..sophisticated and says in all the languages "i am an independant,strong willed man"it has an amazing silage..and its clean.. and by the way, this is from a female s point of view . rating 4.5 out of 5

OK, nowadays it is far from that original, but nevertheless stays quite unique. Sweet and salty in a very unusual combination. Warm and cosy feeling, but not in that woody and headaching way. It is similar, but way better and sophisticated than XS by Paco Rabanne. A smell which is never enough.

This cologne is very unique. It smells like money literally. Leathery with almost a hint of curry. Unfortunately, it does not last very long... maybe 2 hours on me... I loved it so much I was always spraying it on. I think I went through the largest bottle in a couple of months.

Opening with herbs notes for about 10 minutes, which a bit harsh....but if you could hold it for a while you will find tobacco note blends beautifully with clove and sandalwood. It is the only CH perfume I ever want, I don't give a damn with other CH perfumes. Stunning!

Been buying this since it first came out, it’s my signature scent. I hope they bring back the original batch one day. Nonetheless, I will always have this in my collection. For me it’s perfect for any occasion. My wife loves it on me and that’s really all that matters.

Grew up smelling this on my father. Daddy issues' snubs and "edgy teens" would think that makes it unwearable for our time. However, this scent is truly timeless. Still looking for alternatives because they turned this into a bottle of alcohol basically.

I used to wear this juice as a Senior in High School back in 1995. It was da bomb! I used to sense a bit of leather in it. It drew alot of attention and compliments. This was my signature scent back then. Now I wear the original Burberry as my signature.
