Belle de Niassa

Belle de Niassa is a very prominent jasmine fragrance. It’s very realistic too, like you’re outside sniffing the actual flowers. I don’t really sense any fruitiness in here, to me at least, it’s pure floral. Unfortunately for me, indolic jasmine, gives me headaches and I don’t like the scent of jasmine. However, I will agree that this is a beautiful fragrance (just not for me), and anyone looking for a nice musky, indolic jasmine can find it will Belle de Niassa.

Belle de Niassa may seem like a fruity-floral at first, but it quickly reveals a different character. The opening brings a brief touch of brightness with carambola, black currant, and green mango, offering a slightly tangy and fresh impression that doesn’t last long. Within minutes, white florals take over. Jasmine sambac leads with a bold and expressive presence, while ylang-ylang adds a creamy warmth, softened by magnolia. The result is a rich floral composition with a subtle vintage feel rather than a modern fruity profile. Performance is moderate in both longevity and projection — noticeable, yet not overpowering. This is not a typical crowd-pleaser. The strong white floral character can feel elegant and captivating to some, or overwhelming to others. I understand why people think of J’Adore when they smell this. It’s floral with a capital F in a very similar way. Looking at the notes, I think the fruits got lost or are being overpowered by the florals, because I smell none, but a faint whiff of something in the far, far, faaaaaaar background. It’s a lot of Jasmin (which I do love, but not here) a hint of magnolia (again, love, but somehow not here) and an overpowering amount of floral notes. If you like J’Adore and similar floral perfumes, you will absolutely love this! It has really good staying power and radiates gently to about an arms length on me. Now to scrub it off! It’s not bad at all, I just really don’t like it. Not this type of floral kinda person, I guess. Was hoping for the fruits to be more prominent, but alas. **edit** This does not budge!!!! I’ve washed and scrubbed several times, but it’s still there. Faint, but still there. I really, really wish I liked this...

Its a fruity floral with a hint of retro touch to it just like the rest of carons. A burst of niche cocktail juice on a white flowers bouquet .. (dont expect the safe juvenile fruits u get from desginer or celebrity brands) This could be the elite cousin of peony by dolce and gabanna .. the top quality components can be sniffed from first juicy spritz to the sensual floral drydown. Belle de niassa is the the pampered little baby girl in caron's family , the rest of carons can be a bit too vintage-y and old-fashioned as they are made to represent a fragrance house originated in 1920's, belle de niassa is the young blood while still preserving the DNA ..
