Delire de Roses

This fragrance has been maligned so much I was afraid to try it. Having loved Caron Rose for years I assumed all my romantic expectations of beautiful rose perfumes would be crushed by this low-brow new Caron. I was very, very wrong! I know it's not fair to compare two fragrances just because they are based on the same note (rose) ; particularly two fragrances from very different eras. So, in fairness, Delire de Roses is absolutely nothing like Caron Rose. There's no point in comparing them. But I don't care...because... Delire de Roses, honestly, reminds me of Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare. I'm sorry to those who find this comparison off, but I'm being honest to my own nose. FDTRB is shockingly beautiful, and amazing, because it captures perfectly the true, real essence of a newly opened pink hybrid tea rose bud (Anna Pavlova in my mind). It's fresh, delicate, dewy, and sweet. Delire de Roses isn't as "light pink" as FDTRB, it's brighter and more concentrated, like the Baronne Edmond de Rothschild rose. However, it also captures the pure essence of a newly opened pink hybrid tea rose bud. It is absolutely, incredibly beautiful! This fragrance has a feeling of being lighter than air, but the lasting power is better that it seems it would be. Delire de Roses is sparkling, happy, and soft, and unmistakably rose. I love it.

It's pink and innocent rose perfume. Smells sweet and fresh without turning sour or gourmand. I don't like to smell soap clean or shower gel sour. This definitely refreshes you and pleases you without being sharp or too much. It is one of the best of its kind in my opinion. It really smells gorgeous and you know that it is a high quality perfume as soon as you spray it. I have the extrait version. I sampled it at Fortnum & Mason in London last summer. Left the store without buying it as I wanted to wait and see if I would miss it. And I did. Then I found out that they do not sell it anywhere else in London. So I had do go back to F&M and buy it. I have been using it pretty much every day since August and haven't got tired yet. The longevity is more than good enough for a fresh floral I guess. I didn't know DDR was a long lasting and strong perfume until I got complimented one afternoon by a colleague and I had been wearing it for at least seven hours. It was quite surprising. I recommend it if you like fresh rosy scents. The extrait version is a bit hard to find but it is definitely worth it in my opinion.

This notes pyramid is a joke. This is not really a fresh, green rose, it's not even a fruity rose. It's sweet, but not fruity-sweet: it smells like rose popcorn. What I smell in the drydown: rose, subtle tonka-vanilla background, a very refined gourmand accord reminiscent of popcorn or pudding. I can detect a faint green note but I have to focus really hard, it feels more like a salad leaf at the bottom of the popcorn bowl than walking through a meadow. It's probably my favorite rose perfume, but I would only recommend it to gourmand lovers or people who like the same kind of rose as me (Brûlure de rose, Tumulte, Anna Sui). (my review is for the EDP, apparently the extrait is different but I'm not sure they still make it)

In my quest for trying out the house of Caron, I threw Delire de Roses in my online shopping basket intending on sending it to a fragrantican friend who loves all things roses... Well, I had to try it out first - and Oh. My. Goodness. It was love at first sniff for me! Me - who thought I didn't like perfume with dominant rose in it! I have found my match made in heaven so to speak. Delire is subtle, yet has great projection and longevity. Rose mixed with the lotus and litchi give it a bit of the tropical vibe, and the added in lily-of-the-valley gives it just enough of a hint green that makes this entire composition just work in a most beautiful way. Yes, I have found my new signature scent.

This is a classy floral fragrance unlike the "modern" "floral" fragrances that end up smelling so synthetic...Although it is a new release of the famous house of Caron it has a vintage aura due to its elegance and "finesse"- as is usually the case with the divine creations of Caron. It is pricey but it is worth every penny if you wish to smell of something unique, feminine and beautiful. I can't analyse the notes, at first there is a definite note of soft,rose petals and it develops to a masterfully rounded flower that is "quite" but definitely "there"... I LOVE it...Congratulations to Caron for being new and fresh without sacrificing its TOP Quality !!!

This is not quite gourmand but almost. Yes, the people who say nutty are so correct. In the top, this is a sweet green rose with an almost dry chocolate/cocoa scent. As it dries down, on me, it becomes about the rose, some lily and lotus. It is a floral. I don't like fruity florals and really don't get fruit from this. The fruit maybe lends the rose a slightly jammy quality that makes it green and sweet at the same time, but this is not a fruity fragrance. If anything, it is somewhat dry. Like a red wine.

I have the extrait. This is beautiful. Syrupy litchi, jammy rose and there is a nutty smell to it. It's dense, rich, creamy and very long lasting. I find it very unique. There is no other rose perfume that smells even similar to my nose. Worth every penny!

This is absolutely beautiful. A true red rose. Almost the perfect rose interpretation, maybe just a little too sweet. If you can afford it, buy the perfume concentration, it is less sweet, darker and deeper. And it lasts all day, even more.

one of green rose favourites. i like it maybe more than Lutes Ca majeste la rose. Unusually good longevity for Caron and intesity. I love lotus flower opening after rose...

Fresh, delicate, sweet roses and litchi/lychee with some green thrown in for relief from all the sweetness and prettiness. I find it somewhat similar to Miss Charming by JHAG except that the quality in this one is better, softer? Perhaps. I was told that the concentration of the rose perfume oil in this was 30% hence the difference in price as compared to the other Carons. The sillage is very close, this is a skin scent on me and longevity is weak to medium, about 4 hours tops. I won't have bought it except that it was such a prettily blushing pink perfume (scentwise and actual colour of the perfume)that lifted my spirits immediately. I'm really jealous of those on whom this has better sillage and longevity!

i`m not a big fan of rosy notes in Caron fragrances,but this one in particular amazed me indeed and dropped my intention not to pass by and have a try!What can i say...bravo monsieur Fraysse!Decent answer to the commercial brands in an appropriate haute couture manner! Floral fruity combination gives me the feeling of peace and joy in mind,careless and lightness in movement! Definitely summer shining and butterflying feeling!:)

Beuatiful, extrenmely high quality rose with only a bit too much fruity sweetness. It starts apparently soft but it keeps growing and steaming on my skin (lovely feeling if you don't live in intolerant aftermaths), it becomes glorious, feminine at all levels, romantic yet strong-minded. A true lady.

I have the extrait version. Rose perfumes are usually not my favourite, but I was pleasantly surprised by this perfume, a gourmand rose with a sweet nutty "praliné" note. In my vague memories the EDP version didn't impress me at all.

pretty. pleasant. not much character. but pretty. did I say pleasant? uhm. forgettable. which frag am i talking about? :) just kidding. not bad at all, if you want to pose as a respectable, decent, friendly and responsible lady ;)

This smells just like a fresh picked, naturally sweet rose. Unfortunately it disappeared on me after about an hour, so wasn't worth the price. I even tried the extrait and it was also short lived. Beautiful fragrance.

Litchies in syrup. Maybe rosewater and sugar, but too subtle. No wonder a young Korean guy said "smells great" in the elevator.

I get a flat, overly sweet fruit bomb from this one on my skin. At the furthest end of the drydown, a nicely trailing wisp of closed, green rosebuds comes out. But it's too long to wait through the opening and midsection, which did not blossom well on me. Too cloying, sweet,litchi-candy, and not fresh.

This could be nice perfume, but not for me unfortunately. At first it smells like rose, but after it becomes suffocating on my skin. It may be the chemistry of season and skin, maybe I should try to wear it in autumn or winter, but no... This perfume is really too much for me.

I don't get 'fresh' or 'delicate' from this. Oh Lord, how I wish I did. In the very beginning, I got a fresh blast of litchi and faint hint of lotus - but I do mean in the very beginning; gone was that delicacy as soon as the alcohol evaporated. What followed was a cacophonous explosion of Indecipherable Fake Flowers, Fake Water, and litchi litchi litchi; full-force, sour, and unrelenting. I feel like I've smelled this a thousand times before. It's indistinguishable from the hoardes of by-the-month fragrances you'd find at your local mid-tier mall. I'm not exaggerating when I say the smell of it on my skin made me feel physically ill. I can still smell it, actually. Because it will. not. come. off. One positive thing came from this disaster of a sampling episode. That is the realization that litchi belongs always in my bubble tea, never in my fragrance. Thanks to Caron for the saved expense.

I have tested my sample of Delire de Rose 3 times on my skin and I wanted to love it since so many people recommend the house of Caron for other scents. While I do like the drydown, which becomes a spicy green rose, with an emphasis on the spice, the topnotes are indeed sickeningly sweet as others have said. I don't know why the perfumer did not balance the litchi, jasmine and sweet rose with some tarter notes and some wood; it could have been really gorgeous. The spicy green rose scent unfortunately only lasts about an hour and then it's a too sweet drydown that fades quickly. This makes me sad because the rose note is really lovely and this juice could have been truly beautiful but is not. I'm so disappointed.

Caron can seldom do wrong as far as I’m concerned and Delire de Roses ticks off all the boxes for me. Light and sprightly but elegant and well crafted, Delire floats along in a fruity, dew covered rose cloud and just when you think it’s evaporated into thin air, a heavenly waft of loveliness surrounds you again. Sadly the price point is so inflated I’ll have to wait until Caron reissues it in another bottle, hopefully unaltered which is more than likely dubious.

A beautiful, light and fresh rose. On me this is quite a simple, freshly cut garden rose. It smells like a traditional tea rose in yellow or pale pink. It reminds me of my father’s prized rose bushes. It is light but long lasting and I have had several compliments. I don’t pick up much in terms of woods or other notes which I really like. It is hard to make something so simple feel so very special. I think this is the epitome of elegance.

Definitely not Yosh. I have Yosh and it is way less “dewy” of a Rose. Closer to florabotanica but no mint and slightly sweeter. Jammu rose to me is like Lush rose jam, mich sweeter and heavier, this is definitely not that sweet on me. Very pretty for a day rose. Not too complex or deep but hey, it’s a rose. Rose de rein from lOccitane may be similar as well but much cheaper (tho no longevity or Sillage).

oh yum i want to eat my arm. the fruit was quite loud at the very first but after a few moments has calmed itself. it's been about ten minutes and i keep smelling my wrist. on me it is not heavy and is only slightly rose-y. there is a slight freshness and a very little powder. husband just smelled it and said "Eeeew sweet!" - he likes patchouli and woody scents. I like it quite a bit.

It's lovely... but there's just no "ooomph".. no excitement.. nothing noteworthy or unique. It reminds me of about a dozen other rose fragrances... many of which are a fraction of the cost. The fragrance itself is a very nice, fresh rose with a lot of sweetness to it. It's very pretty!! But if you're looking for unique or ground-breaking, this certainly isn't it.

This is definitely a yummy jammy rose scent, but when I wear this, there is an earthy, almost dirty tang just underneath the rose. Looking at the notes, I have no idea what could be causing this particular odor. It's not unpleasant at all, it gives the scent a bit of character and truth. Makes it smell more like an actual garden.

The smell is very delicate and it reminds me sweet Rice with Rose water pudding. wondering why Rice is not included ?! رائحة خلابة و تذكرني بالمهلبية او رز باللبن مع ماء الورد

A snappy, bright, transparent green rose. Friendly and uplifting, but has very little personality or oomph.
