Infini (2018)

It's a feminine vanilla that's a bit like Satine by Lalique but much more delicate than that. I love it.

First of all I never smelled original Infini so I cannot compare with this new Infini. Immediately after spray I could smell zesty Orange with very light, almost not present, Pink Pepper then after less than half a minute start smell beautiful juicy Pear. Jasmine is also very light which is very difficult to understand. After start smell something like caramel (maybe Vanilla and Benzoin) and Creamy feeling coming from Sandalwood and Musk. Honestly it's very delicate and light fragrance. I'm not expert of fragrance but I expected something more strong and full of personality from Caron. I can say it is a very well made perfume but in the meantime very common recently style perfume.

On me this opens as a pleasant juicer pear. The pink pepper appears after 5 minutes or so but is very understated. The perfume then settles into a very mild skin scent of vanilla and benzoin. I cannot pick up the myrrh or frankincense on skin, unless it is just that the vanilla smells slightly less sweet and creamy than you might expect. Not at all unpleasant but way overpriced in my opinion.

Caron bending to the pink juice phenomenon. I generally hate those types of fragrances, but this is solidly done. Its a good middle of the road representation of the floral fruity genre. Its not going to wow, but its refinement thats Caron is evident. It stays the course.

I never smelled the original, so I can only comment on this as a standalone fragrance. There is a strange note of "pencil shavings." Otherwise, it is a pleasant enough fruity vanilla floral.

Had high expectations for a House of Caron fragrance and ended up very disappointed. Initial spray is okay; moderate vanilla with prominent tart fruit notes. Similar to a summery, fruity fashion perfume and pleasant. After 30 minutes settled to sickly sweet vanilla ice cream scent that still lingers on my wrists 3 hours later. Reminds me of the generic vanilla scented body sprays or EDT you would buy as a teenage girl. 👎

Naming this reformulation “Infini” is just deceptive. It’s not that it’s so bad, it’s just nothing like its namesake. It is weak and lacks depth. Very forgettable. A sweet nothing. Maybe it would work for a young person who is just starting to wear fragrance. Or, to freshen up on a very hot day before you shower and put on some real perfume.

I really like this one! It is an elegant fresh scent with a modern twist ...it has a refined floral vibe, a hint of pepper, going to a softer sweeter base,,,I like its delicate floral undertone,, its charming femininity...it is very french in its understated elegance ..nothing too much... it is like a sophisticated perfume, without being heavy, or too classy...definitely a more modern version of a beautiful classic...it is true that it isn't like groundbreaking, but as long as it smells pretty, it works for my taste ..the jasmine in it is really well done I admit..my mom used to wear The Fleur de Rocailles in the sixties, beutiful unforgettable perfume...this isn't a vintage , don't judge it that way, I am very pleased with it,!

Bravo to the perfumer! To remake this masterpiece three years after its launch is inadequate and shows the actual cuisinier's lack of ideas. Mark my words, he will be the end of the brand.
