Narcisse Blanc (2021)

What an underrated beautiful summery citrus scent! Smells like meadows - sunny, airy, warm, but also it is very light and not cloying at all. As a citrus perfume it has some uniqueness, it's not a straightforward lemon, bergamot, mandarin or some other citrus note made fresh, zesty and that's it. This develops to a beautiful, ethereal narcissus-neroli perfume. Caron does not disappoint, always classy, always beautiful, balanced and not screechy mainstream. +

I would really like to sniff what this would have smelled like if we could go back in time. When I got into perfumery I could still find vintage Caron fragrances, so I know what this house is capable of. Narcisse Blanc, by today's standards, is a decent addition to the citrus genre. I would like to see aldehydes added because it really wants to be an uplifting, spring floral. Try it if you are looking for a warm weather fragrance.

There seems to be a dozen of Caron's Narcisse Blank perfumes, all in different bottles with different notes. I have a sample that simple says Caron Narcisse Blank EDP. So I am not 100% sure which of those I have. I believe this one, based on the notes I am detecting. I usually hate oakmoss. I tend to run away screaming from any perfumes where it is readily detectable. But not this one! Oakmoss is definitely mellowed down a bit, it is not as aggressive as it often is, definitely softened by subtle vanilla. Lovely white flowers and zesty orange. As it develops it gets slightly powdery and softer. This is a truly beautiful perfume, unusual for me personally because this is the rare case where oakmoss work for me.

Whoa this perfume does not joke around! Powerful orange blossom with outspoken ambroxan. The first 2 hrs of the wear are overbearing, it's just too much, then it bates to a pretty sweet floral. I say if you can brave through the first hrs and love florals, this is a good one. Not my speed though.

I'm sorry to find this to be sickeningly dense and sweet, to me it is nauseating and I usually have a high tolerance to all kinds of perfume. So, try before you buy maybe.

A little too loud, a little too sharp. A Vanilla "i've smelled before" and didn't convince me.
