Pois de Senteur (2021)

It opens with a curious, almost medicinal green floral—like the ghost of childhood cough syrup, but reimagined in a sun-dappled greenhouse. Sharp yet strangely comforting, it hums with notes of crushed stems and dew-kissed leaves, a botanical whisper laced with nostalgia. As it settles, the edges soften. The bitterness fades, giving way to a slow, golden warmth—thick, luminous honey that glides over the skin like late afternoon light. Not cloying, but clean, like honey drizzled on white linen. A quiet transformation from strange to sublime.

What strikes me most about Caron is the longevity of the perfumes. I have three Carons and they are exceptionally long lasting as in days.. also their maturity. This is a mastery of perfumery. It can integrate and reconcile all polarities that it offers. Thick, warm, cuddly and powdery, yet arrogant and sexy. This one is sultry honey that is extremely loud and layered It is deep and potent potion. Not for the touchy Gen Z generation..

I agree with sherylnd that this smells very vintage. From reading the website it appears to be a modern take on a very old scent. (The original was a popular gift from WWI soldiers to the women they were leaving behind.) It smells incredible, intensely sweet powdery and floral. I love it, but cannot think of a single occasion when it would be appropriate to wear.

This is actually a great interpretation of the vintage Caron Pois de Senteur. Smelling both side by side, the modern truly honors the original. A lovely, honeyed sweet pea note over a dense, vanillic, "pollen-ey" powdery base. Fans of Chamade by Guerlain much to like in this--it has a similar, oily yellow floral feel to it.

A very well done vintage perfume with great lingevity and sillage. If you are into this type of scents, you have to try this. It will transfer you back to early 1900s and make you appreciate even more the house of Caron...Unisex but more on the Feminine side which is not a problem for me!

This perfume causes severe allergies for me. It irritates my throat and triggers hours of continuous sneezing after I apply it. I am unable to wear it altogether. Initially, I purchased it with the intention of using it as a powdery base for other scents, but unfortunately, that is impossible. I have an extensive collection of perfumes, having tried and tested hundreds throughout the years, and I have never experienced an allergic reaction until now. I'm curious to know what specific ingredient in this perfume might have triggered it. In my opinion, the scent of this perfume reminds me of talc and evokes a sense of old-fashioned charm, reminiscent of vaudeville ladies from the turn of the century. However, I find it a bit unexciting and lacking sophistication. Nevertheless, it does have a comforting quality that could potentially work well when layered with other fragrances.

This is a well done perfume. On my skin I get mostly Tolu balsam, yellow florals and powdery notes. It has very little vanilla. It smells very vintage and serious. Ideal for a fabulous grandma. I think I am not there yet I am a few decades behind that point, but I am taking notes!
