Pour Un Homme de Caron Le Matin

This is nothing like the original Pour Un Homme by Caron. Anything that you may have disliked about the original isn't here. It's so different that it could have been in an entirely different series. Having this and le soir you would have something for almost every situation . The opening is undeniably a more day time version of Aventus. You can absolutely spot some similarities if you look at the note breakdowns side by side. You've got this refreshing blast of lemon and freshly sliced ginger. There's a spicy greenness from the lavandin (not lavender) and a very faint bit of smokiness, there's just enough to give this depth and character. Once it dries down, it's in the Creed - Himalaya / Paco Rabanne - XS (1994) or Issey Miyake - L'Eau D'Issey (edt) type scent profile, without being completely like any of them.There's still traces of aventus but it moves to the background. I find this to be very well put together, nothing sticks out or you wish they didn't use a certain ingredient or tone anything down. I absolutely see why they called this "the morning" it's bright, fresh, clean, a spicy green lavandin (not lavender) that doesn't go full blown medicinal. The sweetness from the lemon and ginger bring life to this fragrance to life. It's light enough to be office safe, yet if you over spray it you can "fix" that. I feel if Creed or any company with a similar price point could easily sell this for significantly higher price. I would recommend 10 sprays minimum to go an entire day with this on. It makes sense why the smallest bottle of this they are selling is 125ml (4.2 fl oz). Longevity isn't bad, then again, 10 sprays you can make almost anything last. If you can get a tester of this for around $50 - $60 I wouldn't complain. I highly doubt making a higher concentration of this would be a solution to make it perform better. Look at Terre D'Hermes EDT versus the "pure parfum" (2009) flanker. This is a very easy to wear fragrance that could be worn every day. This will please from beginners to someone who may have a larger collection. As long as people aren't going into this "expecting" a sugary sweet clubbing fragrance or their 100th blue shower gel scent. Springtime, summer and hot weather are the times of year this will excel. Off the top of my head, if you like most of these fragrances you'll like this: Armani Acqua Di Gio (original) and it's accurate clones Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey (EDT) Lacoste - Blanc L:12:12 (EDT) Paco Rabanne - XS (original) Hermes - Terre D'Hermes (EDT) - the far dry down mostly Creed Himalaya Creed Aventus and it's 999 clones And countless other citrus heavy clear or white bottled 90s era fragrances

Tested it the moment it arrived. On my skin, it opens with very lemony and citric sourness. After about a quarter the citric notes fade and the lavendin comes up. But since I'm not familiar with lavendin, I just feel there is some fresh and humble lavender aroma floating around. Freshly sweet lavendin, not the stereotypical cloying and thick "lavender" commonly found in body wash products. After an hour, its projection is already shrinking. There is also some minty feel due to some components unbeknownst to me. Overall it's a fresh spring and summer perfume that reminds me of some juices I tested before but can't recall. Versatile, not surprising, but office-safe. I personally love this juice. So refreshing pour le matin! Below average longevity and projection (hence, office-safe). Masculine leaning to unisex. Great price value with discount.

Bright, fresh, and effortlessly elegant. The opening is a beautiful burst of bergamot and ginger — vibrant, zesty, and uplifting. As it develops, it takes on a familiar vibe that Roja Elysium fans will instantly recognize — a citrus-aromatic blend that feels smooth, masculine, and polished. It stays true to the original Pour Un Homme de Caron’s lavender DNA but updates it with a fresher, more contemporary twist. Perfect for daily wear, office settings, or post-gym freshness. Clean, safe, but definitely not boring. Projection is moderate at first, then sits closer to the skin. Longevity is decent for an EDT — around 3 hours of noticeable presence. For the price, it’s a total win.

It gives a sense of freshness, optimism, and energy boost. Plus, it’s made by a niche perfume house, which guarantees top tier quality and blending, something rare for a simple, fresh scent. In my view, it’s the best refreshing perfume ever. Its only downside is that its longevity and projection are weak. And of course, it has nothing to do with the other green one.

Wonderfully created citric/lavender blend from a house that knows how to do Lavender right. Uplifting to wear in every way. Decent longevity, and average sillage. I wish it projected a little further. For the money, this is great. I'm a fan of pretty much everything Caron, and this one is no different. Not sure where some of the 'reminds' are coming from, as none smell anywhere close to this. I own or owned most, and this is definitely in its own category... Edit to add: I guess it projects more than I thought. My wife said it was rather powerful for the first couple hours when I last wore it. She has a somewhat sensitive nose, but it is rare that she would say anything fwiw...

This is so good! I received my bottle today and it's already made an impression on me and will most likely be my summer fragrance. A blast of citrus and fizzy ginger in the opening with an underlying green note,possibly from the Petitgrain. Lavender enters the chat about ten minutes in and sticks around throughout the life of the fragrance. Geranium,Oakmoss,Guaiac wood and Indonesian patchouli finish out the base. Everything blends well together and is very fresh with a slight soapy nuance. I believe this fragrance can be worn year round. I'm a barbershop Fougere lover and l'm very happy to have this in my collection.

I quite like this. I owned and wore an entire bottle of elysium parfum pour homme, and this does not remind me of that, elysium is much greener and the lavander in the caron really sets it apart. This smells a lot like shaving cream in the air, which i was not expecting, but am not disappointed! Up close you get the lavender and juicy ginger in the opening but the dry down is really just a nice smooth and somewhat herbal lavender, this is very classy and i am well pleased

I picked up a three-pack sampler: Pour Un Homme de Caron, Le Soir, and Le Matin. I'm thinking I really like Le Matin! I get a peppery scent at the beginning, and I thought it was going in that direction, but it dries down to something like a slightly sweet barbershop fragrance that's very similar to Enrico Coveri Pour Homme or Borsalino, both of which I like very much. Le Matin has pretty good performance as well. I definitely recommend trying this one.

This one needs more attention! Fresh, clean, soapy, modern but at the same time with classic DNA in the base. I didn't recognise this as a classic fougere accord before reading about it in other reviews, but now I do. And it's amazing. It also made me look for my bottle of Guerlain Homme Ideal Cologne again. I will order a full bottle of Le Matin and will let them fight it out together which one I will like the most this summer.

**Edit: I can make it very easy to understand, On Test Paper, First two hours It is an HYBRID EDP version of Dior Homme Sport & Colonge TOGETHER , and almost closer to sport than colonge. 3rd hour , very close to creed aventus and even closer to Loewe Esencia EDP

This smells fantastic with a much fresher initial blast. Unfortunately I can hardly detect it after an hour or even less. Maybe if you live in a hot country this will perform a bit better but I'd struggle to recommend this one

Nice one. Someone mentioned below its not like the original pour homme and that’s good because the original is not great. This one is. The original is actually pretty bad.

Easily the worst bottle I have purchased in the last ten years. Glade air freshener laughs at it. Absolutely vile, nauseating and eye watering lavender. Pure scrubber

Change of review, after an hour its just a nauseating, eye watering, cheap lavender heap of garbage. I keep it in the linen closet and spray it in there.

Soapy aromatic classic but with modern twist good longevity 👌🏽

I do like this one. The original Caron Pour Un Homme, the taller bottles with the black plastic top that had a little civet in it was the one fragrance that I actually used up two bottles of. Used them up completely empty. I like soir as well. With soir I use 2 sprays. I knew this ginger based scent would be lighter so when I got this one, I spent $17 more to get the 200ml bottle. I use 3 or 4 sprays of this one, the Le Matin. It's nice. It doesn't remind me much if any of the original like soir does. But that's fine. It's a lighter fresher scent without being a typical freshie. I disagree with those saying it has been done. Not with the CO2 extracted ginger it hasn't. It doesn't project like the soir, but that's fine as well. Hit a couple sprays on the body maybe on each side and one or two to the shirt or underwear if you don't want to spray the shirt you have on, and you will probably smell it all day. You will smell it, and not the folks in the next cubicle. It could be a great work scent in that way. In the early day it will project arm's length. Less at the day's end. Still, you will smell clean and unique when up close. I don't agree that someone needs to smell overly sweet or strong to get compliments. As far as this scent itself, it's good for the warm weather for anywhere, or for high heat and humidity areas like where I am in South Florida all year long. The ginger isn't overly spicy after dry down with the CO2 extraction used and even the lavender is different from the lavender in soir or in the original. I will note the ginger used on initial spray might burn your nose a little... to use the line from a notorious youtube reviewer. It will settle quickly, but may come as an initial surprise. It's a refreshing change from mall store "freshies." Which are fine, but we all already have freshies that do smell pretty much the same as the next one on some level. Those have been done.

پر انرژی و شاداب شروع میشه فضای گازدار مُرکبات که یک دقیقه هم ماندگاری نداره در کنار حس سبز و پر رنگ ای از بوی برگ مانند که خیلی هم شبیه برگ نارنج نیست اما نقض اش هم نمیشه کرد از همون ابتدا این بوی سبز،به صابونی بودن می‌زنه بعد از فروکش کردن وجه مرکباتی،رایحه ی عطر به سمت صابونی شدن میره اما شبیه صابون های قدیمی یا خمیر ریش و ... نیست و بوی سرزنده ای داره کم کم مخملی تر هم میشه اما به لطف زنجبیل،طروات اش حفظ میشه دوست داشتم زنجبیل تند و تیز تری کار میشد توش ولی قدرت اش کاملا کنترل شده میشه گفت با نسخه ی اصلی پورانوم کاملا متفاوته و به جز لوندر که اون هم اجرای متفاوت ای دارند؛وجه مشترک دیگه ای بین شون نیست **************** scent:7/10 longevity:6/10 sillage:4/10 purchase value:6/10 ******* overall:5.8/10

I'm a guy in the twenties, so I don't know Caron and their perfumes. However I tried this one in a perfume store and I find it very modern! Very refreshing, the smell is citrusy with ginger. A herbal and soapy side is also present. Some compare it to Dior Homme Sport 2021, I understand the comparison but I prefer Dior's perfume. However, it's still a very pleasant, fresh and uplifting scent for the summer. Projection is close to the skin but longevity is surprisingly good! Le Matin is suitable for all ages in my opinion.

This is very nice! It smells like the bottle looks -- semi-transparent white glass with green juice. It has an art deco vibe. A modern barbershop DNA that is light and clean. The only downside is its abysmal longevity, which is about 4-5 hours on me. I wish Caron would make an EDP version. The high retail cost of Le Matin relative to it's mediocre longevity makes it a poor value. Perhaps find it at a discounter if you are curious.

Lots of tart citrus and the lavender feels suitably sharper here than in the original, too. I detect a bit of a laundry detergent musk scent as well, although that's not listed as a note. It all works well towards giving it the stimulant quality they were going for, in contrast to the calming vanillic original. Maybe a bit too zingy for me to wear often, but good stuff.

Caron seems to be pulling from Mugler's vault with these latest releases. Mugler Ice Men is what this smells like from beginning to end (patchouli beast!). But, it is not a bad thing. For a morning scent concept, this fragrance performs like a champ and maintains a very shower fresh, clean vibe throughout a wearing. Geranium and patchouli fans will love this.

The lavender definitely comes through in this one... I'm not the biggest fan of lavender but the quality and the projection is great. It's also phthalates free per the company as I asked then via email. To me I need a freshie that doesn't quite have lavender in it... But it's pretty good.

I don't know why I am so obsessed with this freshie lately, so crisp, so clean so simple, I wish the lavender had a stronger presence in it

Just amazing, nothing revolutionary but masterfully blended modern fougere that you can for school/work any day.

Le Matin feels like a fresh, modernized barbershop scent. Green and lavender notes sit on top of a soapy base, while citrus and ginger help keep the scent vibrant. I tend to reach for it after a shower or shave, as it reminds me of lavender soap. After using a larger portion of the bottle, however, I have to admit there is something that feels a bit concentrated, somewhat reminiscent of fabric softener.

Caron!! I love the house of Caron for what they made uniqueness and elegance.. But this one for me unfortunately is very popular nothing special..

Overpromised and underdelivered. That's all i can say about this one.. It states that it's a generous eau de toilette. And that the breath of fresh air lasts until evening... I got literally none of that, but the complete opposite. Eau de cologne strength at best. My batchcode is: 102311 on a 200ml bottle. Only thing left is trying this one in high heat. Doesn't last past the 3hr mark. Doesn't even project further than one foot in the opening stages. Turns into a skinscent really really fast. Can't even call it a skinscent but a fraction of that. I call that a minor detectable residu on skin if you bury your nose into it. @Felixthreeone. I accidentally deleted it when i wanted to edit. Kind regards.

An annoying scent that bodyheat and time does not temper. Caron not at their best with this one The now redundant flankers Sport and L'eau conveyed class and respect to the original Pour Un Homme. This one is just trying to squeeze a buck or two from the Mugler/Dior party.

تست دوم دُ کغن لُ متان به معنی صبحگاهی حتی کارون هم داره با اسم گذاری محصولاتش بهمون یاد میده هر عطر و ادکلنی مناسب هر وقت نیست ... لاوندر امضای ادکلنهای کارون . ل متان ادکلنی فرش و گازدار تو کلاس بویایی اروماتیکه شروعی پرطراوت و انرژی بخش از بوی برگاموت و ریحون و شکوفه های لاوندر در کنار بوی سبز و نفیس پتی گرین و انفجاری از زنجبیل گازدار این باره چندمه دارم این ادکلن رو تست میکنم و همیشه یاد بوی سبز برگ گردو می افتم . نمی‌دونم چرا واقعا ؟؟؟ ل متان گرچه در شروع دلرباست ولی تو قلبش نمیتونه طراوات و درخشندگیه استارتشو حفظ کنه کاملا حس و حال مدرن و امبرکسانی به خودش میگیره ولی زننده و کیمیکال نمیشه درای داونش با حفظ فضای اروماتیک و مدرنش کمی چوبی میشه . اوکموس نقش پررنگی تو آکورد پایانی این ادکلن ایفا می‌کنه . جنگلی .مرطوب . سبز ل متان خوش ساخته . دوستداشتنی و پر از انرژی که استفاده ازش می‌تونه روز شادی رو برای مخاطبش القا کنه . کلیات رایحه زیباست . ولی پرفورمنس خیلی خوبی نداره . استارت هیجانی که یکساعت اول موتورش خاموش میشه و تقریبا اسکین سنت کار می‌کنه .

Caron does citrus lavender ambroxan oakmoss patchouli alla Creed Not at all what i was expecting, lavender citrus fruity opening over musky ambroxan oakmoss substitute base, fuzzy, masculine fruity citrusy fresh. It has nothing to do with any of the other Pour un Homme offerings. In fact it is built very similar to how Creed makes their fragrances, the way the clean musks are composed with amboxan forming a dry linen like back drop, hints of oakmoss substitute and patchouli in the background. It smells very much of citrus-woody raw material, some dihydromercenol perhaps giving off a masculine limey quality. Good quality and smoothly formulated. Certainly mass appealing and extremely wearable. Unfortunately very forgetful and not true to the original and therefore not for me at all. If you were thinking of dropping 250+ on a main line Creed, this will save you a lot of money. For the rest of us, probably not worth the price.

A couple a days ago I accidentally came across this and Le Soir which were available on a website in a tester presentation(fragranza) at a good price (50 euros/each). In the opening, it's very fresh and bright with lemon, ginger and some lavender. A very nice opening. After a couple of minutes the lavender begins to predominate, becoming very pronounced(+patchouli). From that moment, Le Matin has similarities with Prada Amber, Zharoff signature pour homme minus the resinous part which is less present(but it is) in Le Matin. It's soapy, a little bit barbershopy, earthy but not dated at all. It's like a good lavender bar of soap with some depth. If you like lavender, a lot of lavender in your fragrance, than this is a very good choice. From my point of view, as an lavender enthusiast, i like it. The performances are also good. On a scale from 1 to 10 i'll give it an 7

Imagine an Aventus style but with lavender, ginger and some tart citrus instead of fruitiness. It’s sort of like that if I had to describe it with a bit of a barbershop feel. Heavily underrated fragrance! My first ever Caron and it was a massive blind buy success. You cannot go wrong with this if you like barbershop or shaving cream vibe fragrances like rive gauche, Eau de minthe, Tom ford beau de jour. Le Matin is the freshest out of them all, like an icy freshness. The lavender is incredibly smooth and not in your face at all. Has a perfect balance of citrusy freshness with the dash of ginger and a nice woodiness that accompany the beautiful lavender, I can sense why they’re signature is the use of lavender. An excellent release and one in which I hope they keep around for a long time. You can find the 200ml for a great price online.

I spent the last 3 days every day for 8 hours testing virtually any fragrance out there niche, designer, cheapie, clone houses...Of hundreds of fragrances, this one stood out and stayed with me. This is unbelievable value of a fragrance. I love it from first sniff and the next 7-8 hours on skin and even on paper after 30+ hours it is still a very alluring fragrance combining classic structures with modern aromatic and fresh aspects that is ginger-lime. Caron’s lavender is unmatched and you could get it here too. It’s a classic, grounded yet modern release. I will provide a longer (more analytical) review at one point but could not wait without posting this here. I love it.

Pleasant, citrusy zingy opening with a fresh kind of old school masculine drydown. In the air around you, this does move a little bit Aventus like! But up close this is nothing like Aventus. Much more soapy masculine kind of thing. Easy citrus dumb reach frat that is appropriate for any occasion. I actually really like this, but I wish it performed and projected better. As is the case with 90% of freshies. I have to say contrary to many in here, I get some of the lavender but really not that much. This is citrus dominant

LOVELY fragrance. I really enjoy this fragrance. It's a perfect balance between the citrusy notes and the fresh spicy/aromatic notes. I would definitely wear this to the office, it's appealing but not too overpowering. Longevity and performance is great especially considering the price. I would definitely purchase a bottle of this.

This is a far cry away from the incredible vintage fragrances this house has created. However, I would probably still recommend this over the other mainstream garbage being offered nowadays. For $60, it's a nice clean citrus, peppery, generic scent that seems to perform well. Maybe it suffice as a gym scent for the summer time.

It's modern and youthful, reminds me of Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime, but with less quality and much less strong longevity. Citrusy and fruity. Not similar to any other Caron.

The reviews are accurate here: 100% Creed-like ambergris base, turns straight into a skin scent, clean ginger and citrus. Sophisticated and lovely but very simple and faint.
