Tubéreuse Merveilleuse (2021)

I never imagined I would use descriptives like "ethereal, diaphanous, cloud-like, gauzy, hazy, airy, etc" when describing a tuberose-centric fragrance. I have sampled and owned/own many tuberose fragrances. And I ADORE Matiere Premiere "French Flower," which is a thick, dense, heavy, heady tuberose-forward fragrance. Caron "Tubereuse Merveilleuse" is one of the most beautiful tuberose fragrances I've ever worn. It is all of the above descriptives and then some. The opening is light and inviting, as the mixed fruits and ginger notes add a fizzy brightness to the opening. The almond note adds a nutty quality to the middle phase. And the drydown is creamy and lactonic thanks to the vanilla and almond milk. But sadly, my issues are the perfume's lack of availability (of course). And the perfume's performance. And the perfume's PRICE-POINT! I poisitively adore the fragrance. But I have difficulty justifying the cost when the intensity and duration of the fragrance are so poor. But I do love it! Tubereuse Merveilleuse is unique, gorgeous and unlike every other tuberose fragrance I've tried.

I have tried countless tuberose perfumes, if it has tuberose in it, chances are I have worn it or at least sampled it. So when I say Caron Tubéreuse Merveilleuse is my new favourite, that is no small statement. This is tuberose done right, absolutely the best I’ve encountered! It is that perfect balance: creamy yet fresh, subtle and yet makes a statement. The opening is soft like fresh petals kissed by morning air, but then it melts into this velvety, subtly seductive heart that lingers beautifully on skin. It doesn't scream for attention, but it draws people in effortlessly. The longevity is not the best, but I enjoying respraying during the day :)) I can not get enough of it, and currently I don’t want to wear anything else!

Carambola? Where? I wanted to try this fragrance because of the carambola aka star fruit, but found none. However, what I did find was the second best tuberose soliflore after Tubereuse Criminelle. This is a very sweet tuberose, almost bubble-gum with vanilla and somehow I smell a hint of Granny Smith apple (maybe that's the star fruit?). Really, really lovely. Obviously, you'll hate it if you dislike tuberose. But for those who love it, it's a must-try. Also, I feel obliged to mention how utterly gorgeous Caron's 50 mls bottles are? For those who don't know, if you want the round bottle like on Fragrantica's picture, you need to buy 50mls, 100mls are cylinders. And this gorgeous pale green color? Wow.

I bought this on a whim because it was discounted 50%. It isn’t a loud statement perfume like many other tuberose perfumes. It’s airy, sweet, and elegant. Almost sparkly, and super feminine without being either girly or matronly. To me, it’s extraordinarily beautiful, perfectly balanced and all I want in a floral perfume. It’s also the only perfume that had ever made someone chase me down the street to ask what I was wearing so he could get it for his wife. And this was after 9 hours wear, so the longevity is pretty impressive despite the perfume not being heavy at all.

Opens with a zesty lemon and ginger and very quickly dries down to a powdery and creamy tubererose while retaining that lemon twist. It has that warm floral quality without being overly sweet. Reminds me of stepping outside on the first few days of spring still wrapped up in winter clothes and having a moment of surprise that the weather feels just a touch warmer and the sun is shining just a tad bit brighter. An innofencive perfume. Its not necessarily very original or bold but it feels comfortable and smells pleasant. Definitely for an older more sophisticated lady.

I have received a sample with one of my orders and so far I can say this is by no means a bad perfume, but I actually expected to get almond with it, whereas I actually get only lemon and tuberose. That's quite boring, to be fair, but the fragrance is still pretty, crowd-pleasing and very suitable for spring and summer. Not full bottle worthy though, because I already have many tuberose-centered perfumes and all of them are more interesting than this one.

I am stunned that there is only one review so far... as this release certainly deserves some more attention. A really comfy sweet tuberose, easy wear and very pretty as almond and almond milk clearly come through (those who make their own almond milk, will recognise). Softly powdery and warm-leaning. Beautiful wear for colder months with moderate performance.

This is a wonderful soft creamy Tuberose. The almond gives it a creamy feel and the ginger which I get just lightly makes it interesting. I always had difficulty with tuberose because I mostly find it too loud and screechy but here it is done nicely. What a pleasant surprise! Sillage is good, too. Update: longevity not so good, just 2-3 h

This is a nice take on tuberose, if perhaps excessively sweet in places. I don’t detect the ginger at all and agree with others that the dry down has a creamy quality. Classier than other sweet perfumes in a similar genre. I would tend to agree that there wasn’t much “wow” factor but it is a nice enough scent.

I bought this perfume because back in the day I used to love Caron's Tubereuse so much but this one is nothing compared to that. It smells like an old lady's perfume, I think this is the perfume I like the least from Caron

The shop I purchased my Poets of Berlin from sent a decant of this to me instead of the Mango Skin I wanted to try. They did me dirty. This perfume made me realize I hate tuberose upon the first spray. It's just awful, I'm sorry. The perfume itself is probably just what it was intended to be, but tuberose for me is a huge, massive no. I vow to stay away from it. Reminds me of the Moringa body mist I purchased from The Body Shop years ago when I was a teen; it was so nasty I almost cried. Perhaps I'm not cut to be a lover of white florals.

I could never ever imagine that Caron could make such perfume - it starts so syrupy and almondy sweet that it makes me difficult to smell something else behind that.. neither ginger nor jasmine are not balancing that up, these notes are lost in this unbearable sweetness.. Past one hour sweetness calms down a bit, but now it becomes sweet warm white blanket.. no way that I could ever again put it on me, but those who love sweet fragrances could enjoy this..

This is a candied tuberose scent. Very sweet and cute. Tuberose here is playful and almost innocent. This is not the grandaughter of Fracas, is the grandaughter of Petit Fracas...in terms of tuberose potency. The almond, musk and vanilla and lemony notes are very soft. Overall, it feels like a fluffy cute tuberose scent. The pale blue color suits it well. I would like to buy a full bottle.

This is stunning, and the whole Caron range is so good. I only wish they weren't so expensive. Tubereuse Merveillleuse is an airy and at the same time creamy mixture of mostly tuberose, milky almond, and musk. I also get vetiver in the opening, although that is not mentioned in the notes. I don't like sweet perfumes, and to me this is not too sweet at all.

A lovely tuberose and a realistic but somewhat overpowering lemon. Lacks identity and rather ordinary. I can see how the ginger might work on some skin to make this a great summer fragrance, but I find Caron to be uninspiring, their fragrances don’t wow me.
