Capri Forget Me Not

This. THIS! This is the perfect summer scent. Without smelling like a summer cliché (suntan lotion, pina colada, aquatic citrus). It's like a cool, refreshing breeze in a bottle. I'm transported to a lush island (Capri if you will, or another island in the mediterranean)when I smell this. I'm standing on the top of a cliff. Beneath me is a beautiful strip of white sand. The ocean is caressing the land. I've been sunbathing for hours. The sun is powerful. It has been a long day with almost no wind at all. The heat feels a bit exhausting. But then, suddenly out of nowhere, like a blessed sweet relief, comes a soft, cool breeze. It svipes from the crystal blue sea, through lush green hills where aromatic herbs grow, and glides across my warm skin like a veil of sheer, cool freshness. That's how "Capri Forget me not" smells like. A breath of fresh, misty sea air after a long day in the sun. It's a well blended, transparent scent. It smells very high quality and unique. Slightly green, slightly floral, with a discrete dry earthy feel and a strong misty minty smell. But the mint is not dense or too intense, it's definitely there and the most prominent note in the scent, but it has this breezy, airy quality that keeps it from smelling like tooth paste. This is not a perfume, it's a scented veil. It's a airy caress. The only downside is that the longevity is bad. I get about two hours tops. Which is sad, because this is such a gem. I still want a bottle though. The scent is too great not to own. Sillage is strong and bright at first, but quickly dries down to a cool skin scent.

It is a bit weird for me to write the first review, but I had to, as I tried this perfume lots of times and liked it a lot. There is a fine initial blast of citruses of all kinds in the beginning, but my skin swallows it quite quickly and steps to the heart. In the very next phase of fragrant evolution a prominent fig note becomes the main player. Sweet and succulent, it is accompanied with some herbal notes - mainly mint, and a few other I can't recognize (maybe it's the mentioned eucalyptus, but I don't know). That makes the fragrance more wearable, because all those notes soften a high-pitch fig which, in itself, could become cloying. Later I find a solid flowery drydown, with highlighted jasmine note, but with both the fig and mint from the earlier time. It's obvious with all those notes that the scent is more on a feminine side, but, even if I think it would make wonders on a female skin, it's totally wearable for a man. It has a perceptible sillage and projection with nearly monster longevity - I could feel traces of it a whole day after. Practically, it has the same strength through, like, first 10 hours, and that is more than enough. Capri Forget Me Not is a bit linear, with no sharp transitions through the phases, but, at least, what you see is what you get - if you like it at first, it won't disappoint you later. If you like fruity fragrances with a slight mediterranian vibe, you will most likely dig this one. I surely do. 9.25/10

I love this one, it is unique. First time I found it sharp, masculine-fresh however next developing started coresponding with the name. I can't forget. This is the essence of good memories, which never fades. It is exhilarating. Citruses and figs attract attention. And then the violet hits you, which is almost intoxicating here. Green tones are a little incisive, which is very pleasant. This is not a nostalgic scent. This is a fragrance that inspires to new experiences and joys. I alternated it with Philosykos. (Which is coconut-lactonic on me, almost creamy. Carthusia has different way, how makes the figs delightful. Both amazing.) The scent is kissed by the breeze from the sea and perfect for summer, but I like it in winter also. The freeze gives it a new form. Sillage is moderate, but good projection. Longevity about 2 hrs. Definitely unisex.

I was disappointed with this at first because I wanted more fig. I got milky fig when I tested it but when I started wearing it from my bottle I could not get the fig, at all actually. I found it sharp in the beginning and almost cloying in the middle. So it sat on the shelf. Now I got back to it. It has a very evident top mintnote. When that settles it is fresh and soft with a perk from the mint. The base is skinclose powdery floral. I don’t find it cloyng any more and when I take it for what it is and do not expect the fig, I actually love it. It soon sits very close to skin, and for me it stays there for quite a while, but weak. I find I want a touch-up or two during the day.

Aromatic, herbal, green. Heavy on eucalyptus and mint. Fig is good, but not sweet or juicy, some vague citrus on the background. Florals are hardly detectable. This is a unique charming little perfume suitable for warm summer days. It has been sadly reformulated, though. EdP lasts three to five hours on my skin. I wish I could try a better if not the original version.

I bought my Capri Forget Me Not when I was in Capri. I left Capri and started a trip through the Amalfi Coast. During a summer night in Ravello, surrounded by hundreds of small fig farmers, the scent of ripe figs was everywhere. I will never forget that night. I’m happy I bought my parfum. Every time I use it, I go back to Italy and the Amalfi Coast.

I can’t tell if I’m really high or if this is the loveliest, most spacious, fresh and slightly mystical scent. Young but not childish, a green breeze with the slightest sweetness. How delightful. Edit: I bought a full bottle. It dries down to a baby powder smell, which I don’t love. But I wear it all the time anyway.

Strangely for me, the violet is very strong. And in combination with I guess the fig, this reads like liquorice. This is a shame as I otherwise love the soft freshness of the scent. Like walking barefoot on summer's dew. And even though I enjoy violet in less fresh perfumes, this feels displaced to me. But I will let it sit on my skin and see what happens. Drydown was quite nice with a hay accord. But too expensive for what it is in my opinion.

For whatever reason the highly citrusy and mossy fig doesn't work for me in this fragrance. I don't smell the hit of mint this needed to lift the fragrance. I expected this one to be way better based on the notes. It smells vintage. -

I really like this fragrance because it reminds me of a summer house at the sea that my family used to visit. However after the initial opening I feel this fragrance has zero performance. No longevity and no sillage.

So in balance to the enjoyment of the previous review, I found this was not appealing for me. It opened with a very short citrus burst, followed by a boozy rum note that was quite pleasant. However, the next step was a coconut-infused sun tan lotion which was the only thing that remained, and remained, and remained. Even the final dry-down did not develop any other noticeable notes. Just not for me.

Whilst testing potential wedding day scents at one of my favourite local fragrance boutiques, the sales assistant offered Capri Forget Me Not by Carthusia as a possibility. Surprisingly this was her personal pick for her future big day. I applauded her for her unique choice. Capri Forget Me Not is a super-fresh fig scent. It's Summer in a bottle and wears beautifully on a humid, warm day. The top notes feature freshly crushed mint, sweet fig and zesty lime. The opening is admittedly a little 'toothpaste like', but on skin this scent is quick to dissipate. When you think of fig scents, it's hard not to draw comparisons to sweet-coconutty fig fragrances like Diptyque's Philosykos or jammy fig scents like Thierry Mugler's Womanity. Capri Forget Me Not focuses on the freshness of fig rather than the gourmand nature of this note. If I were to have a beach wedding in the midst of Summer I would definitely consider wearing this fragrance. Capri Forget Me Not is a light, almost sheer scent on the skin. For the most part this fragrance is a crisp fig and mint blend with subtle citrus notes. Towards the drydown this fragrance does settle into a somewhat sweet peach and vanilla scent. It's well worth testing on the skin, especially if you enjoy fresh scents with a touch of mint or fig.

This IS CAPRI ! If you have ever been there, this is what it smells like. Lemons, oranges, mint. Its sweet, fruity, fresh and playful. A great summer perfume. The only thing that bugs me is the pricing on this one. 140 € for 50 ml ? Thats way too much in my opinion. And there are no other proper options in terms of sizes available except a 24 ml for 70 €, which is refill bottles. Perfume: great 9/10 Pricing: not so much 5/10

Opens light and airy. Green like a manicured garden - leaves and branches with the citrus (I don't sense fig fruit or sweetness at first). Mint note is quite prominent in the opening but eventually settles in. As it dries down it gets sweeter, a touch warmer, and much more powdery. Lots more fig, vanilla and violet in the drydown.

My first impression was a very warm feeling of sunrays kissing my cheeks through a slightly humid warm air, and fresh green grass tickling my feet on a meadow in the mid of July. So natural, and so realistic. My second wearing gave me some strong associations with rubber balloons. There is something magical about this scent.

Fresh and aromatic. It could be my favorite summer fragrance. Too bad I cannot handle the Fig note very well, just like the Patchouli note, it gives me nausea (no matter in what perfume). I have an almost full bottle, if any of you want a SWAP just DM me.
