Allégresse

I was absolutely convinced, without even having tested it, that I would buy the green one. Who knows why? On paper, for fern and pistachio.. Eventually I succumbed to a spell and went home with Allégresse in the very fragrant perfumery's paper bag, instead. From my linguistic reminiscences I was pretty sure it meant cheerfulness, joy. Strange, because my happyness has vanished as soon as I sprinkled myself with this [meditative, subtly austere, melancholic, nostalgic] singular and simple elixir the whole bust, before telling the salesgirl: 'oh yes, I choose this'. I chose Allégresse because there's an austere autumn mist in its beautiful bottle, that’s mysteriously gloomy but bright. There's my silent meditation on the many things that build my life every day, piece by peace, without making noise, with a few inevitable little scratches, and gladness. Adorable and sublime.♤♠️

Vegetal greenness; petitgrain, bergamot rinds, hyacinth stalks (stems not the flowers per say), and cassis. Imagine a lawn with the aforementioned notes that's been freshly mowed. Brisk and perfect for hot weather, clean and refreshing without being an aquatic. Running errands all day and will be decanting some in a travel spray to take along. Definitely sits just at arms length.

A wonferdul hyacinth perfume, so elegant, fresh, airy and spoiling with sublime florals, it makes me feel special all the time wearing it, although it porjects moderately, I smell it myself each time I move my head or my body during the day, such a comforting and luxurious feeling, I simply love that fragrance a d my days carrying it, it truely makes me happy

I adore this perfume and clearly feel bergamote as the highest note (my personal perception). I am a big fan of green/citrus scents, and this one sits perfectly in hot and cold seasons. The only problem is: NOT strong enough, doesn't last if sprayed on skin. Stays better on clothes.

something about this perfume is so nostalgic to me, and i can't put my finger on it! whatever subterranean childhood memories the notes in this are triggering, it's mysteriously delightful; strangely-familiar.

I find Cartier to be underrated as a modern perfume house. With the talented Mathilde Laurent as their current in-house perfumer, Cartier's recent releases tend to be consistently good, if pricy. Les Rivières is a relatively new collection of light eau fraîche fragrances, in the vein of《 Les Eaux 》from Hermès/Chanel. I have a discovery set of the three《 Les Rivières 》scents, and Allégresse is the first for me to sample. Meaning joy/exuberance, it is a bracing fresh scent, bursting with zesty citrus and radiant green notes. It isn't particularly groundbreaking, but is an utter delight. Allégresse opens with woody, green petitgrain that permeates this scent with fresh foliage-like greenness throughout. Bright citrus notes make up the opening, enhanced to perfection by the petitgrain. It is beautifully balanced - not too harsh or tart, no sourness, aromatic but still feels like a high-quality cologne designed to be worn. As it develops, the florals emerge, dewy and green, transparent but natural-smelling instead of synthetically aquatic. Hyacinth is much more prominent than tuberose, but instead of being typically waxy and heady, it is instead green-tinged and dewy, like the bud of the flower. It really smells like spring. Tuberose enhances the floral accord as it develops, but is clean and muted, surprisingly fresh. Airy and vibrant throughout, it becomes soft and woody as it fades, with the green notes remaining, becoming a little sour as they develop, but not in an unpleasant manner (like CK Eternity). Sillage and longevity are moderate - the performance is surprisingly good for an eau fraîche. A unisex cologne, ideal for warm days, Allégresse is springtime in a bottle. Nothing too unusual, but it is beautifully formed, featuring a nice, sheer rendering of hyacinth. Recommended. 4/5.

So, I received a sizable decant of Cartier "Allegresse" with a recent purchase of an Aqua di Parma perfume. Allegresse is not in my usual wheelhouse of fragrances. So, I was initially afraid to apply the EDT on skin-smile. I would likely not wear this perfume because the style doesn't resonate with me, nor does the style suit my personality. But surprisingly, I like Allegresse a lot. The opening is fun with evident petitgrain and strong, green, dewy hyacinth notes. I smell some cassis...the leaves & stems, not the berries. And to me there is zero tuberose, a floral note I adore. Allegresse is very green and initially fresh, yet it turns a bit more floral, darker and somewhat murkier as the perfume develops on skin. It's a nice fragrance for someone wanting a unique twist on (what I imagine is considered) a fresh green fragrance.

File this under interesting niche. Lots of citrus with some obvious synthetic notes. Hyacinth—I’m picking up the purple flowered one for some odd reason—is more prominent in the dry down. There is a persistent sour note in the opening, like bitter greens, but I also enjoyed it. Allégresse has a very natural profile, and is best suited for warm weather. Even though there’s a lot of vitamin C in this perfume, it does not come across medicinal. Solid like, and I need to test this in warmer weather.

Refreshing, green and very natural smelling. It's like burrying your face in a bouqet of hyacinths. But the other notes doesn't allow it to get too floral. Tuberose is a note i did not detect, though. This is how real spring smells. Quite unique too me in this world of sweet candy perfumes that are popular at the moment.

This is SO nostalgic for me. It smells like some bath product my mom used growing up and I can't place, but I KNOW it. Maybe a shampoo? It is SO herby and bubble bathy.

They are similar to the jardin line by Hermes, my favorite are the orange and yellow bottles. I bought the green one but returned it since I don’t like fougere family.

It’s nice. Starts fresh and citrusy and after some minutes, i get a soft and smooth floral. Very clean and calming. It’s a safe and pretty fragrance. Thumbs up!

Nice scent, which is suited for people who want a floral scent without the usual sweet, vanillic, amber notes- me! It smells like true-to-life Hyacinths, with very, very little Tuberose underneath. Performance is so-so, though; it becomes a skin scent only a few minutes after application. Longevity is also not great; I applied it 2 hours ago on my hand, and I can barely detect any. Overall, a "nice" scent, but pretty simplistic and lacks some "magic".

Very fresh and pretty floral. It smells pretty green and mostly of hyacinth. It’s fairly pleasant and refreshing to wear in hot weather and sunny days. To me, it smells more feminine. The longevity is fairly decent, maybe 4-6 hours. The sillage is moderate, I can smell it when walking while I only sprayed my wrists. Value is pretty good, ~110 USD for the 100ml. 7.5/10. It’s nice to wear, but if you don’t like the scent of white flowers, it’s alright.

It's so masculine, I'd prefer to smell it on a man more than me otherwise it's pleasant and fresh, the bergamot and petitgrain notes are so natural in this one

Natural smelling, green, vibrant. Well made fresh scent for the summer months. I don't particularly smell a lot of difference between all three except some general note variances, but otherwise all three are nicely done. You can pick up a bit of hyacinth in the opening, which then becomes more bitter and green as it sits on your skin. It smells as if you're on a field with hyacinths and petitgrain bushes nearby. Obviously way overpriced but if you have a decadent lifestyle could be worth your time. Unisex, leaning a bit more feminine I'd say. Not bad at all. 7/10

On the surface this is a sappy, piquant fresh fragrance, with a lilting spring floralacy. But underneath there is a female carnal dark pool with eels and submerged freshwater plants with their own smell. The surprising bright pink of willow roots growing in and something nipping your toe as you clamber out. As a child I half lived in the creeks that flowed on the farm, long before I felt saltwater and waves and sand. What an amazing unusual and addictive perfume. It is light and fleeting but I’m just going to keep spraying.

Spicy green scent, very fresh and vegetable like. For just a few seconds it gave me a banana note, almost like a tuberose that is too sweet and high pitched, almost like a banana laffy taffy that came intermittently and then went away. The drydown is slightly aquatic. I think it is an interesting scent, with a "spa" like relaxation effect. I enjoy my sample but I don't think I will buy a full bottle.

Not sweet. Green, bitter, fresh. Great for hot climate. Most interesting among 3 (green, pink, yellow bottles). Reminded me about De Profundis, at least brought me the same mood. Buying full bottle. Available for testing at Nordstrom (USA upscale department store). It am biased, I live in Texas and was looking for something like this for a long time.

This is a very unique green scent. I don't smell hyacinth, maybe the stem when I rub it together. What I immediately think of is when I mow the weeds in the garden and the crushed smell of the plants mingles. Loud, slightly spicy green.

An interesting take on citrus. A natural smelling sparkling green vegetal scent. Very nice especially on cold crisp mornings.

Sample this collection the other day the bottles are beautiful but parfum oooooof not for me ..maybe a new baiser parfum..

Is it in common stores or in exclusives Cartier s maisons?????
