Baiser Fou

Terminator raspberry ★★★★☆ Baiser Fou or ”Crazy Kiss” was aptly named because it is indeed somewhat of a maniac in both good and bad. For a man in mid-twenties such as me fruity florals is the fragrance territory that I visit the least for which I blame the brainwash that made me think that men are of wood and leather and women arise from petals and ripe fruits. In the past twenty years or so there have been fragrances that combine these aspects with great success, such as the fruity smoke of Aventus, but like in all of perfumery only a few possess a sense of humour. Smelling Baiser Fou for the first time made me instantly recall Le Feu d’Issey as they both have an aspect of healthy self-ridicule and a big dose of mischievous glee. Le Feu is an oriental and BF is a fruity floral but they’re connected via a delightfully perverse milk note. Another fragrance that I was happy to think of while trying Baiser Fou was Grojsman’s 100% Love by S-Perfume, which I like to think BF is a mainstream homage to. Both provide an otherwise harmless fruity affair turned bi-polar by a sickly background of all things unsuitable for humans. 100% Love achieves discomfort with the extremely bitter cacao-milk that results in a trigger heavy vomit-esque accord. Baiser Fou, while less aggressive, corrupts the cute fruits with boldly unnatural notes of sulphur (elemental yellow sulphur, not the rotten egg smell of hydrogen sulphide), firework smoke and metallic shine of heavy machinery. In fact, this combination of tart fruits with sulphur and metal gives me the mental image of a funfair. Angel was created to remind us of the confectionery and ice cream stalls of such childhood funfairs but Baiser Fou, whether intentional or not, opens up the same memory but situates me at the queue that makes way next to the giant humming motor of that Top Spin or ferris wheel. That anxious and excited wait you make before hopping onto the giant machine is heightened by the metallic scream of gears and neon coloured plastic theming of the ride. All this perfumed by artificially flavoured slush drinks and melted ice cream while lights flash and a cheap techno beat fills the air. This memory has been dormant for quite a while and I didn’t expect a perfume to active it as it contains a lot of not-suitable-for-perfume-scents but little did I know. Baiser Fou is perhaps somewhat hard to wear but it is tremendously fun and will surely elicit both high smiles and low frowns upon its wearer. I’d give this five stars but it is a bit too short lived and linear to compare with the likes of Le Feu, 100% Love or Angel. Baiser Fou is best enjoyed on a smelling strip, where the gleeful mid-section stays the longest. Soundtrack: Mat Zo - Vice

I purchased this fragrance in winter and I am happily wearing it at home, but to wear it out in winter seems pointless because it is more of a late spring and summer scent. I am excited for summer to come so that I can wear this with a sexy spaghetti strap dress and long loose curls. The fragrance smells like a ripe raspberry. A previous comment stated that it smells like a raspberry milkshake, and that is a perfect description. It does not smell synthetic and the scent, on my skin, is linear. The orchid note can be smelled, but raspberry is the star note. The fragrance is very simple which is what makes it beautiful. Baiser Fou is backup-bottle worthy. I will be purchasing a second bottle while I still can because Cartier no longer makes it. Update: Finally had the opportunity to wear it in summer during a trip to Vegas. I've seen reviews that say it smells rank on skin; I did not have that experience. I did notice the scent did not last as long on skin when it was hot, but that was expected, so I spray my clothing in the summer. I sprayed this on during a warm Vegas morning, and I could still smell myself 14 hours later. Anyone who is familiar with Vegas, knows that women there tend to wear very loud fragrances, at least that has been my experience, this fragrance was not over powering, and was not loud but could still be smelled, and I still love it. It meshed well with my chemistry - it may not be that way for everyone.

The raspberry facet here includes that natural tartness - there is a very green note here that makes it smell so fresh - like a real raspberry - not a candy syrupy raspberry. I sometimes go to this distillery that has two types of raspberry liquors. One is raspberry brandy - it is very syrupy, thick and has that candy like flavor. That isn't the one I order. I order the other raspberry liquor that is chilled and called raspberry brandywine - this liquor is thin and literally tastes like "summer in a bottle" - it's fresh and delicate juicy. Not sweet. That is the raspberry of this perfume. It has this green spring fresh quality which after about an hour quiets down into a soft white floral that is rounded out with a buttery white chocolate warmth - there is a touch of dryness here that occurs in high quality cocoa bean powder and I get that here with a bit of vanilla to round it out. The vanilla here plays a quiet supporting role just holding it all together but this is by no means a vanilla bomb. And there is no syrup here either. I don't get a lot of powder in this. This perfume morphs into a smelling like a beautiful, finely milled french beauty soap. So many facets to this - I have a closet full of perfumes and this has become my signature scent and I can't let go. It has all of the green stemmy, tart, berry, floral and soapiness that rocks my perfume world. I am so in love I already bought a back up bottle.

Correction to my earlier review: Luca Turner and Lana Sanchez correct names are Luca *TURIN* & *TANIA* Sanchez [I tried editing it and deleting it, but it still shows when not signed in.] Edited Review: Love, love, *LOVE* it!!! And I'm not even fond of sweet fragrances! But Baiser Fou's sweetness is not headache-inducing or throat-scratching. The fragrance is unique, which I also love because I *never* want my scent to be the same as every other woman's everywhere. It's mood-lifting, too. :) It's whimsical, carefree and reckless, but not loud about it. My reaction to it was, "Oh, I want to live in this world! Reality is so overrated!" :) Me and two of my closest friends tested this on our wrists with Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (which I also enjoy, but it's too common) on our other wrists. All three of us preferred Baiser Fou to Chance Eau Tendre (one of us didn't come to her preference until they had a couple hours to settle). My adult son and adult nephew both think it's nice, as well. Guess we have the same refined taste for perfume as Luca Turin & Tania Sanchez who gave it 4 stars. ;) No. I take that back. I guess our tastes are *more refined* 'cause we would have rated it higher! lol ;)

Beautiful perfume!! Starts greenish and tart (hommage to Baiser Vole edt), then fruity (hommage to Baiser Vole Lys Rose) and creamy vanilla (hommage to Baiser Vole Essence). Novelty are scents of orchid and white chocolate, melted in beautiful musk note,slightly resembling the one in La Panther. So, Baiser Fou is vivid fruity lipgloss scent, but elegant and refined in the same time. It has unusual combination of gourmand notes with fresh, green,fruity toneswhich make the scent fresh and not heavy. This is the only gourmand scent I can tolerate because it's not sickly sweet. Modern touch is accomplished by this plastic note which so many people disliked,but in my opinion it blends well with the composition and wears off rather quickly. The perfume is long-lasting, I smell it the next day, when only beautiful, creamy scent plus gentle chocolate remain. It is very feminine and boldly reinterprates current sweet gourmands by adding sour fruits and touch of green feminine fragrances from 70's. Pure love from me!

The reception this perfume is getting is honestly surprising me. The first time I tested it I was convinced I'd be smelling it on everyone within a month: it just seemed so cute and likeable! Instead it seems to have repulsed many people, and left the majority indifferent... Oh well: the more for me!! :P Just hope they don't discontinue it before I can get a few bottles. I'm always on the lookout for a good, grownup fruity fragrance, and this one is just perfect! It's like a summer version of Armani Sì, a higher than heaven, jammy raspberry on a sweet, powdery background that radiates beautifully. What really made me fall in love with it was that it has this sort of bitter, florist shop greenness that freshens everything up nicely. It's like the gorgeous little sister of Calyx, and I love it! (PS: the comparisons to lipstick are spot on: this totally reminds me of one of my mom's YSL lipsticks from back in the day)

This is different and quite complex as I find myself smelling my wrist often and noticing new nuances. I don’t have anything like this. I read a professional review on a website that said this smells like YSL Lipstick. Agreed! Sweet but tart, fruity with a bit of powder, but not cloying. At first spray I could smell a lot of green and some lily which reminds me of Baiser Vole, but this soon settles and appears only faintly in the background afterwards (I sometimes think Cartier doesn’t reveal all of the notes they add to a fragrance). Then the raspberry takes the stage. The Fragrantica odor profile for orchid says it is powdery, sweetish and clean, and I do find this fragrance all of those things. After about 3 hours the dry down is a very light skin scent. The raspberry is gone and I can finally smell the vanilla and white chocolate. A very lovely and enjoyable fragrance to wear!

I agree with hedward on the fun fair machinery, what a great association! To me, it is that rare thing of an abstract gourmand, the coup being the combination of green and sweet milky caramel (well plus the crazy raspberry of course) which reminds me of 70s style galbanum and vanilla/amber combinations and instead of peach (thinking of Halston) there is raspberry on the top. I don't think it borrows from Angel, to me, it has more to do with Bernard Chant's creations. For myself I came up with calling Baiser Fou a 'Chypre-Gourmand'. It is actually more chypre than gourmand and more chypre than most of the 'pseudo-chypres' around these days. It has a protective and calming quality too: I like wearing it on airplanes for overnight flights sort of as a protective shield (against people, smells etc.). It is independent and purring like a kitten, and it's a firecracker.

Gorgeous floral vanilla scent. Very luxurious and instantly satisfying. It'll put you at ease immediately. As the ingredients suggests, it has been developed around the subtle fragrance of the Cymbidium orchid that has delighted us for centuries. As an avid horticulturist myself, I know how delicate and short lived this scent is on the natural plant, so I take it, the perfume lab had to recreate it artificially with secret chemical compounds as well as some other floral natural oils. The end result is a faint rosy smelling orchid with a hint of vanilla and peony. Cartier have long been making extraordinary good fragrances for a jeweller. This one is no exception. Verdict: 9/10 for a solitaire floral. Wished it had more development. Excellent blending of floral-sweet-fruity without being cloying at all.

This is gorgeous and I don't understand why it's not more generally loved (oh well, more for me :). As I wrote on Fragrantica about "Baiser Volé Parfum" the recent (2022) release, I love following Mathilde Laurent on her fragrant journeys, trying to understand her intention, what she was / is aiming for with her works. I find her a really impressive perfumer, and even with the attention she gets I think she's underrated. Baiser Fou is my realization that I ADORE orchids, the way they look, the name, the fantasy way they smell. This is divine.

Addictive. Baiser fou is, in my opinion, totally different from Baiser Vole. Its opening is an explosion of sweet raspberry combined with orchids. Never smelled such composition before. It dries down to a subtile fruity/flowery praline combo. The white chocolate gives just enough "gourmandise" to this perfume, without overwhelming it. I also found the name well chosen. It is a "crazy" scent. I literally got crazy in love with this one. If I should associate a perfume to the notion of "fou d'amour", that would it be. It's magic.

An elegant gourmand like only Cartier can do. In the opening I detect a green note in this fragrance that tames down the sweetness of the raspberry and vanilla . It is still very sweet, even dense (I’m guessing from the white chocolate) but very well blended. Nothing screechy or loud here. It feels like a delicate raspberry vanilla blanket on the skin . In terms of longevity it lasts about 7 hours but it does stay close to the skin.

Baiser Fou smells like rhubarb, very green stems, blue-tinged orchid accord, and those little white chocolate wafer-chip things you use when you DIY chocolates and melt them into molds for baby showers. Really weird, but also really pleasant. Baiser Fou is not as crisp or elegant as Baiser Vole, and it is more than a little eccentric with it's gourmand tang. I don't know what they were trying to accomplish here... but I like it!

Има закачка, когато ароматът започва да се развива и отнякъде се появява червило:) шоколадът не е сладкарски,не разчитайте на това. Просто поредното бижу на Cartier.

This does not smell like fish or anything remotely close to it. It smells like a raspberry milkshake. This is very creamy and fruity with a hint of a green undertone . I think this is a very sophisticated fruity gourmand scent. I feel pretty wearing this. On me it lasts around 8 hours .

Just sprayed my new decant and the first thing that came to mind was (don't laugh)... sitting on the porch with my grandmother in the evening stringing green beans fresh from the garden. I am so intrigued with this green note! It's fleeting, though. Now on to exploring the dry down.

I just tested this in a perfume shop. I don't like sweet scents, But this is an exception. It's the same as baisers volé, but better as baisers volé is too rough even for a floral lover like me. This perfume is long lasting as well. Over all this wins over the original perfume.

I agree with everything malinkonija wrote. Additionally, I did not think this was anything sweet or berry or chocolate. I got green, mossy, musky and absolutely UNIQUE. LOVE!

Very cute, likable and appealing fragrance, just like its cute bottle. Nothing special or unique about it. Very easy to like it.

Drydown: strawberry cream lollipops. Not really lipsticky, but rather sweet as the drugstore lip glosses sometimes. Very sweet, foody, a true gourmand. Opens bitter and rotten; I don't know how they managed to create such a perverted raspberry, but oh well there could be more notes, it's grassy for a quite some minutes. When the herbal opening is over, you have a plain sweet fruit. The orchid needs time to develop and you might not even pay attention to when white chocolate has settled. Linear and boring, nevertheless blended well. A safe scent. Layer friendly. Maybe we can layer it with Baiser Vole? Personally I don't see the "crazy" in here; to me this is a "young kiss" or a "joyful kiss" not crazy most certainly. For a crazy kiss I need a crazier blending of notes. BUT, since a more unique scent would not sell, Cartier chooses to, and I totally understand it, they are right, cater to the sweet-girly-gourmand audience. This is an amazing blind-buy for them. I'm on the fence about it: obviously I cannot wear such a typical gourmand but at the same time I just want to layer the heck out of it; so many ideas!

My second review of this cool beautiful perfume because it’s not possible that there are people who say it smells like fish or that is not well mixed, come on! It‘s called baiser fou = crazy kiss so what do you expect? This perfume is a little bit crazy, it’s loud, maybe weird but it’s exactly how it’s described raspberry (in real life a green sour smell, try to smell them!), a chemical exotic flower ok because orchids don’t have a scent, and a sweet drydown. I don’t wear it often because it’s bold and doesn’t fit most of the occasions in my boring life, but I treasure it in the hope that my life might become more exciting one day XD If I were 21 young and wild I would probably wear it on weekends, dates and nights out. Can be a daytime scent in autumn and winter when it’s cold outside, otherwise it’s an evening scent. It gets cloying when it’s warm outside, in my opinion.

One of my favorite fragrance notes is raspberry. This is not a sweet juicy raspberry but rather a tart sour raspberry. Very pretty spring/summer fragrance. It comes across very sharp floral with some tartness. I don't really get any sweetness from this fragrance. It is very nice and I am happy to have it in my collection. 5 sprays around 6 hours of longevity at around arm's length for the first half of the time,then closer to the skin. update- I finally get the sweetness. It takes about an hour after first spray but it is there. The opening is still a tart floral scent but then the vanilla and maybe the white chocolate come thru. Not super sweet and the tart floral fades slightly into the background. That sharpness softens. Very beautiful and I love how it evolves during the day.

I think this is quite interesting, but ultimately not something I would get for myself. I can smell all the sweet notes listed - raspberry, white chocolate, orchid, and also vanilla (which might be a facet of white chocolate and orchid). But I also get some of the green floral stem and lily DNA of Baiser Vole from Baiser Fou and light musky and peppery notes. I'd say Baiser Fou is warmer, sweeter, more girly than the ladylike, cold Baiser Vole. It's sweet in a cosmetic, powdery way, bordering on cloying in warmer conditions. But I could imagine it being a beautiful scent on a snowy day, preferably worn with something white or light pink, with glitter or fake fur. I associate it with a kind of cute ice princess vibe, if that makes any sense to you.

After 4 hours it gets beautiful. You just have to survive the perverse raspberry and the orchid monster. Then you can finally enjoy the white chocolate note. I think I will buy it and wear it at work so that I can scare my colleagues off and enjoy the chocolate at the end of the day. Jokes aside, it‘s an interesting and beautiful perfume and I really like it. It‘s weird but in its weirdness lies its beauty and better weird than boring like all new perfumes that are being released in the last years. The raspberry and the orchid notes are really crazy but the trick is just not get too close to your wrist! The drydown smells like expensive face cream. It makes me feel like an eccentric English heiress. Definitely not a blind buy!

A successful blind buy. It starts with an odd cough syrup vibe, but it settles down to a quite lovely fruity sweet - but not too sweet - subtle scent. It's not at all what I expected - it's pretty and feminine without being too girly or cheap smelling. I don't get the white chocolate note, just a creamy fruity earthy smell. I have tried a few of the other Baiser scents, I like this one the best. It's quite different from the others - less floral and sharp. It's more of a spring/summer scent. This is a nice everyday fragrance - good projection and longevity.

Bright, juicy berries after a weird? (but tolerable) opening. I didn’t know what to make of the fragrance at first as it was sharp, but this is brisk and the pretty, sparkling raspberry note is what accompanies you for most of the duration that it clings to your skin. I get what most of the reviews are saying, the fragrance is somewhat reminiscent of lip gloss, but it personally doesn’t bother me, and it isn’t artificial or plasticky at all. It really is quite unique. I have yet to try this during warmer weather but it smells lovely now in the winter.

Wow ! Great work around this beautiful orchid. I get something that evokes litchi and guava fruits, it's really gorgeous. So for me this is fruity but not sugary at all, Bravo. Post scriptum : does not share anything with baiser volé. No lipstick here. Be aware. Update : After a few hours, may recall toilets freshner spray. I'm really sorry but i do get that. Perhaps this would not appear if used on the skin instead of a paper strip. I hope so...

A subtle perfume for springtime, with a gargling, green grassy opening, which quickly turns into an intense orchid odour. This one smells like multiple (orchid) flowers that have a sweet scent of white chocolate with just a hint of raspberry. Warm, fresh yet creamy, inoffensive, light & comfy womfy. It has great lasting power. Star signs: Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Pisces

This perfume garnered a like for its beautiful dry down, I love the light airy fragrance of vanilla mixed with white chocolate. Although the raspberry note deserves a mention, it smells a little too chemical for me..

I got a sample of this and have tried it once. It smells very similar to my Batiste cherry dry shampoo. I'm hoping that's not all there is to this scent so I'll have to try it again.

I smell a lot of litchis in the top notes. Later on, still the same litchis but the smell becomes somewhat artificial. That's pretty much all I can say so far, need further testing!

It first it's very intense and also spicy like some oriental notes were unlisted. However, later it softens a lot and it's quite pleasant, chocolate-like.

A fantastic grouping! Bitter raspberry, sweet orchid, white chocolate. Extremely satisfying. This smells much different on skin compared to paper.

Beautiful scent. I want to love it so badly but it's so weak!!! For such an expensive edp it lasts like a body spray. Womp womp

I never get tired of saying that raspberry is my favorite note in perfumery. And I know exactly where that love comes from. When I was a teenager, I spent my very first earnings on an American raspberry-scented body lotion. It was discontinued ages ago. The scent wasn't a synthetic raspberry at all - it was real, creamy, yogurt-like, and alive. Even on the skin, it never changed; it remained that same beautiful raspberry from start to finish. Later, I tried to find something similar, but berry lotion often turned chemical and plasticky on my skin, losing all of their charm. Since then, I've remained a devoted fan of raspberry fragrances. These days, I'm no longer searching for that exact raspberry from my teenage years. I simply collect fragrances that feature the note. Cartier Baiser Fou has long been discontinued, and I decided to buy an original sample to find out whether I really needed a full bottle. The sample arrived in the mail. I opened it, sprayed it once, and was immediately overwhelmed by a wave of emotions, as if I had experienced something very similar somewhere in my early childhood. I couldn't remember the day, the place, or the circumstances under which I might have smelled something like it before. Yet the feeling was so powerful that it brought tears to my eyes. To me, this fragrance feels deeply nostalgic, slightly melancholy, and contemplative. I can't really single out the raspberry note itself. Instead, I smell a translucent berry candy slowly dissolving in the mouth, intertwined with the bitter sap of freshly broken plant stems - perhaps even lilies. It creates a vivid image in my mind: I am a small child sitting in a garden or a wild meadow, sucking on a berry lollipop while absentmindedly snapping plant stems. My fingers are sticky with sweetness, while my hands are stained with the scent of bitter green sap. That is exactly how this fragrance smells to me. It constantly shifts between sweetness and green bitterness, leaning first one way and then the other, and it is this interplay that makes it so memorable. I still haven't decided whether I need a full bottle of this elixir of memories or whether I actually want to wear it. But one thing is certain: it has been a very long time since a fragrance stirred such powerful, nostalgic, and vivid emotions in me.

Smells like a green plastic watering bucket. Nostalgia and sweetness within a garden. Sophisticated yet playful in the summer. Something the principal from the movie “school of rock” would wear on her day out to drink beer and listen to Stevie Nicks. Boring with a touch of unique quality—plastic.

I was waiting for baiser fou since it's release.I'm a fan of la panther line and also baiser vole line so I was very excited about this new member of cartier family.raspberry,white chocolate,vanilla and orchid are among my most favorite perfume notes,I also love sweet and powdery scents and the idea of smelling like lipstick was a great one IMO but baiser fou was a big dissapointment for me.Im glad that I didn't commit mistake of blindbuying it To my nose it has nothing to do with listed notes.there are not much white chocolate scents out there(not as much as I'd like)so I was really looking forward to enjoy it here but I can't detect anything even related to it.also no raspberry,no orchid.on me it's a tropical fruity,summery scent which I would never guess is a cartier.it smells like a sweet,watery melon/guava milkshake.it lasts like that for hours just that a handful of sweet berries are thrown inside the shake.when it's a faint skinscent I can feel it smells like slightly powdery vanilla-raspberry which I can associate a bit with fruity lipgloss or lip balm but it probably wouldn't come to my mind if I was not waiting for it.longevity and sillage are moderate It's drydown is nice,nothing special to justify it's price tag but at least I like how it smells.if it was like that from first perhaps I would persuade myself to buy a bottle but I can't tolerate four hours of bland and boring watery fruity shake to reach the pleasant drydown.I won't compare it with celebrity perfumes as I have many and almost all of them are better For a white chocolate-vanilla-powdery flowers-slight hint of fruity,raspberry-like treat,I will stick to my beloved fantasy nice remix of Britney Spears and for smelling like a raspberry lipgloss/lipstick I will go for miss dior absolutely blooming I wish cartier not to start launching different versions and flankers of baiser fou.instead of baiser fou edt,baiser fou essence,baiser fou eau fraiche,baiser fou lys rose and whatever baiserfou they're thinking of,I wish to see a new perfume with the real quality and complexity of cartier ❤❤ شروع آبکی،میوه ای شبیه به آب طالبی بستنی که در ادامه میوه های دیگه باهاش میکس میشن و شبیه میلک شیک میوه ای میشه.بعد از چهارساعت میشه کمی تمشک و وانیل پودری حس کرد..اگه دنبال شکلات سفید،تمشک غالب یا ارکیده غالب یا بویی شبیه رژلب هستید ناامیدتون میکنه بشخصه ترجیح میدم برای رایحه ای شبیه به رژلب تمشکی برم سراغ میس دیور ابسولوتلی بلومینگ و برای ترکیب شکلات سفید-وانیل-گلهای پودری و یه ته بوی میوه ای که خیلی بیشتر از کارتیه بایزر فو شبیه تمشک هست ترجیح میدم برم سراغ فنتسی نایس ریمیکس بریتنی اسپیرز

Baiser Fou punches my nose with a chaotic, artificial tropical fruity cloud. Like previous reviewers, I too am reminded of litchi and guava fruit, plus some peach. But on my skin, extra sugar is dumped into this tropical fruit salad. There's also a subtle bitter cacao powder note during the first 30 minutes. But because of the plastic texture of the sweet fruity scents, the bitterness of cacao powder didn't manage to provide an interesting twist of which Baiser Fou is desperately in need; instead, it only enhances the overall cloying, synthetic feeling. The fragrance does improve by tiny steps after 4 hours. The aggressive, tacky plastic texture of the sugary fruits finally calms down, although it never really leaves entirely, always lurks beneath like a hungry, calculating shark planning for the next assault. As the fragrance becomes a bit smoother, I do get the white chocolate accord. The fruits also develop more acidity to counterbalance the plastic sweetness. But overall, it's still very much a typical saccharine gourmand fruity fragrance to my nose. Baiser Fou has a heavy to moderate sillage, and it lasts at least 8 hours. Sniffing Baiser Fou is a shock to me. It's such a radical departure from the elegant, brilliant Cartier fragrances that I know and love: Baiser Volé, La Panthère, Le Baiser du Dragon, Eau de Cartier, etc. that I felt kind of lost upon smelling Baiser Fou. Reading the PR release after smelling the fragrance, as a hindsight, I do see the "lipstick" reference, probably to be achieved by the plastic feeling to evoke the waxy texture of a lipstick. Unfortunately, with the over-the-top artificial fruity sweetness, I perceive it as a low-end, artificial-smelling lipgloss rather than a luxurious, high-end lipstick. Personally, I think there are far more interesting and more refined fragrances depicting lipstick or orchid. Therefore, I would not particularly recommend this fragrance.

I always say a fragrance can choose you and I am sure some have that experience with this because it is so unusual. On me though...it is positively repulsive. In fact, it is the first in a long time to make me border on a headache. The opening is best described as spiky and not in a punk rock or sexy heels way, but burrs-in-your-socks spiky. This continues for a few hours until it settles down a little and turns into something resembling an antiseptic cleanser like Lysol trying to mask what it is with a overwhelming fragrance. This does not smell like any lipstick I have ever owned and I have owned them at all price points over the course of many years. At the very end (5+ hours) it becomes a skin scent and smells like a boozy version of vanilla. Nothing chocolate or powdery ever turn up on me. It's even vaguely unpleasant at the end, when it's no longer overtly spiky. I will congratulate it on its nod to the past. Something about it does remind me of Magi Noire (the original formula). It is probably the berry described here in the notes. It is obviously not as complex as Magi, but I can see women who wear that well carrying this one off well too. This is definitely not a blind buy scent. Thankfully, it was gifted to me and the person who gave it to me will understand why I will part with it.

With Baiser Fou, you get a smell that is pretty similar to what is described in the press release: lipsticky-smelling orchids, raspberries and white chocolate. I only felt drawn to try this because I adore the luscious lilies of Baiser Volé. The raspberries here are tart and while not particularly realistic, not candy-artificial either. The orchids aren't sharp, but not so realistic like the flowers in Baiser Volé, but you do get something kind of lipstick-inspired, that vaguely smells like pink flowers. That quickly transitions to a convincing white chocolate gourmand, fairly straightforward, maintaining a faint hint of berries/pink flowers to keep the fragrance from smelling gourmand. Sweet but not quite edible. While I like this OK, I sent the decant back to exchange it--this just isn't special enough. If the flowers were more striking and spring-fresh I would really enjoy it. Even with white chocolate being kind of a sweet note to wear, balancing such a note with a lively flower could be brilliant. Nevertheless, worth trying.

Baiser Fou is a strange one for sure. White chocolate? Raspberries? Really? Where are they? This is a very green take on orchid. Almost a soliflore. Nothing gourmand about it. In the dry down there is a slight amount of raspberries giving this fragrance a juicy and lipglossy aroma with minimal sweetness. But chocolate? - No. And I actually appreciate that. Every new release is a generic toothache and I can hardly tell them appart, they are all the same. This is different, I am not sure if I even like this, but I appreciate it being different, and it was an interesting one to test. I don't know any other orchid soliflore, especially together with crushed petals and green leafs. Baiser Fou does to orchid the same thing Baiser Vole does to lilies. Except for, I much prefer lily as a flower. *Thank you Perseia for sending me a sample.

I’m so glad I only bought the sample of this instead of blind buying, because I dislike it completely. It smells nothing like it’s described (It’s more citrus than floral and sweet for me,) and it’s chemically. Coming back at a later time, this smells like the cheap deodorant that I currently have sat on my desk!! Don’t waste your money on this, just use your spray deodorant as perfume. 13/08/22: well I gave this another chance and I found that it combines quite well with Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl!

Opening is a blast of cheap smelling aromachemicals. Dries down to an orchid scent that reminds me of a mid-priced candle. Barely radiates to arm's length after 10 minutes. Nicest thing I can say about it is that it's a safe scent for the office as it is unlikely to offend and if anyone notices it you could believably claim it's your shampoo or lotion.

I absolutny don't believe in the notes added to fragrantica. First its reminds me a jewerrly cold store... but not a Cartier...Cartier has an int-imitate scent :) To me this scent don't have to exist. Nothing new, nothing spectacular... definitly...past was better for Cartier ad Perfumes... Its a very synthetic, smells like cheap celebrity scent.

I sampled this and I found this to be utterly intoxicating in the worst way possible.. Very artificial, plasticy, and cheap smelling. All I can really get from this is this overly tacky floral and gross lipsticky odor. Pretty expensive for liquid rubbish if you ask me.

Those of us of a certain age will remember the days when people inexplicably thought that dumping pot pourri in a bowl to gather dust and insects in the living room was an interior design triumph. Baiser Fou smells just like the fruity mix.

I tried to run from myself to get away from this horror of a scent. Nasty, foul, body decomposition in a field of dead orchids. Wth? What IS this??

I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle because Baiser Fou smells absolutely nothing like the list of notes. If you enjoy minty, grassy and very green smells then this would be lovely for you. However there’s no raspberry sweetness (unless that’s what’s making this smell so sour?) or white chocolate and vanilla creaminess here. I was expecting an elevated sort of sweet fragrance but there’s literally not even a hint of anything that reads as gourmand or sweet in any way on me. Would love to smell this on someone who enjoys this because we’re getting totally different things here. EDIT: I sprayed a napkin because I felt like I was going crazy and yes, the tart raspberry is definitely coming through. On me though- sour wheatgrass.
