Insouciance

Good gracious. I am so glad I finally got this. I went on a blind buy for this, and went off the notes. HOW HAPPY I am for this one though! While I feel this could be worn, winter, spring, summer, and fall, I do not see this being a "Night" scent. This is a beautiful soft, citrus almost violet. The violet is so strong, and so powdery. It's almost like a bathroom like powder. Imagine a watery, wet, aquatic sweet violet. Which is exactly this. It's so fresh SO SO fresh. I absolutely love Cartier's fragrances, they are always so strong and stout, and just gorgeous. THIS is one of those. Perfect bottle, juice, and just presentation. This is a classy, sophisticated and just beautiful scent. So glad I snagged her.

I’m picking up some vegetal qualities, and I’m enjoying my first day with Insouciance. Instead of fruit, I smell carrots and tomato leaf; an earthy green landscape. F U L L S T O P I decided to read the reviews below....and I’m blown away that so many others are describing Insouciance in the same way as myself. Yes to parsley! I’m also picking up some citrus, and zero iris or violet. Anyway, maybe I’m an oddball because I like this scent. It’s a designer fragrance but it’s wearing a niche dress.

What a gentle fresh scent. From the three of this line the most feminine and also the one maybe worth a full bottle. It reminds me Baiser edt without the lily. The drydown smells green as Baiser edt wich I love. As other reviewers said it smells a bit watered version of others scents from Mathilde Laurent. But anyway a nice citrus for the summer.

A fresh green non-sweet juice with tomato leaf and pine needles nuances, vague flowers, more like very young wet chrysantemum, lily, fig leaves and stones.... like in a florist's shop. I smell a faint violet, no iris. Nonetheless beautiful. Sillage and longevity are unfortunately abysal

To me, it smells like pure iris, it only last on me up to 2 hours, and it is one of the rare perfumes, I will spray at night time. Light, airy, happy quality. Iris is intoxicating, so happy I was able to smell it before buying. Some other Cartier perfumes smell for days, not this one.

Insouciance is the third and final of Cartier's《 Les Rivières 》for me to try, and it is as carefree as its name suggests - breezy and light, fresh and airy. Although its listed notes make it look like a floral-fruity, Insouciance is green and fresh rather than sweet. I hoped for a more prominent iris note, but it is not the case. Insouciance opens with a nice powdery violet note that subsides fairly quickly, followed by dewy green notes. Sheer, natural-smelling fruity notes follow - I get citrus and perhaps some melon. It is tart and fresh, not sweet or juicy. The florals that follow are barely-there, soapy and increasingly powdery. The iris-violet accord is like scented soap, pleasant but not to their full glory. Soft woody notes creep in, and it becomes slightly musky as it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A pleasant light scent, freshly floral, but nothing special, Insouciance is a pleasant warm weather cologne. It is unisex, but perhaps the most feminine-leaning of《 Les Rivières 》. Not my favourite (that would easily be Allégresse), but decent nonetheless. 3/5.

My husband usually makes healthy smoothies with kale, apples, celery and lemon juice and first notes of this perfume smell exactly like his smoothies. Then the scent calms down, but bright zesty lemon still plays major role. According the pyramid showed above ⬆️⬆️⬆️ I can slightly detect iris and may be violet, but no wood and fruits in the way I expected to smell. It is very bright and sour perfume that doesn't last long. Can be good awakening spray that you use after the shower and that will disappear in one hour giving space for your daytime perfume.

@fragrantica Where is the violet here lol..Smell parsley only after the initial spray. Love everything green so I'm okay with that but when you expect violets and smell no violets, it's disappointing. Cannot believe the ones that smelled violet, iris and anything powdery here..I guess we all have such different olfactory senses and of course different chemistry.

All I smell is wheatgrass which is not listed. I can see parsley too. It's all surprisingly refreshing, and though linear, I wouldn't mind smelling this from time to time. Getting literally none of the notes listed though which is throwing me off. I almost thought I got a bad sample, until I saw other reviews that seem to see similarly as well.

These are light and airy great for spring summer Very comparable to the Hermès Jardin collection. My favorite are the orange and yellow bottles.

For me, the top note is parsley.

I had high hopes for this new release when I tried it on today. While all the notes seem pleasant to me, it carries the typical Cartier green dna. The scent is very green, flowery but surrounded by this feeling of heavy humidity in a garden after a midsummer rain. Violet and iris are slightly detectable to me while they should be the leading notes, also the longevity is mediocre for this price tag. My all time favourite violet/iris perfumes are Diamond Jubilee (Grossmith) and Insolence (Guerlain), so inevitably I had them in mind. Cartier has much better and more elegant fragrances than this one to purchase so this is a pass for me.

Imagine a summer day. Gentle and comfortable, without stifling heat and scorching sun. The kind of day you spend on a cozy, shaded terrace, in a garden saturated with lush greenery. That is the essence of this fragrance. The opening was surprising, as I distinctly sensed the scent of freshly shelled sunflower seeds, accompanied by a touch of dew-kissed fresh grass. Subsequently, amidst this grass, you can indeed detect fleeting little violet blossoms, but the overall impression is primarily fresh and green. It's comfortable, inviting you to unwind and relax.

One of the most interesting violet iris combos I've tried yet!! This line is so interesting to me. Everything is fizzy and fresh and bubbly. This opens with a syrupy almost berry feel that immediately transforms into an effervescent sparkling violet/iris combo. If most irises are altos this is a soprano. Not earthy but instead floaty. A few mins in and it much more closely resembles its peers in the line, but the opening is something else!

This is a fresh and light floral smell. Main notes are violet and iris, with a faint fruity note. It’s perfect for hot days. The longevity sucks, a lot. After an hour and a half, I could barely smell it anymore. The sillage is moderate, while it lasts. Very feminine. 4/10. It’s still a fairly pleasant smell, but the longevity is so bad it’s not worth the money.

Ok, Cartier is not afraid of doing green fragrances and I usually like them. But this is a bit too much isn't it? Fresh cut grass and cellery, this is all get. Not something I would feel confortable wearing.

Got a tester for this one. This smells heavily of iris on me, with a strong note of cut grass. Cute for spring days, but not really my style

So nice, perfect spring fragrance for daily use, but it last only 2h. It's pretty expensive for that small longevity and poor sillage.

To be fair, I didn't want this perfume. I was stopped and given it at Bloomingdales, anyway, I tested it without checking any of the notes and I agree with many of the other reviews. Insouciance smells too green to believably even contain the notes listed. It projects quite well and lasts well, but that would be great if I even enjoyed it. It's fresh and clean, but honestly just smells like cucumber body wash.

ratage complet sur cette ligne Herbacée verte, ou sont les incroyables créations de Cartier? depuis quelques temps leurs parfums sont pâles et insipide :(. Ou est l'audace des Must et des Santos. Très déçu par ces créations mainstream pas digne de l’héritage Cartier. 2/10
