La Panthere Elixir

This is my 9th La Panthere version, and, in my opinion, probably the best yet. La Panthere finally makes a comeback, slightly resembling to the original, released in 1986. Previous releases were soft, feminine, and sophisticated. La Panthere Elixir immediately reminded me of VW Boudoir, not because they smell the same (which they don't), but because they are both unashamedly dirty and sexy. Cartier gifted us something special here, which will be the one for the books. I swear I blushed a little upon the first spray, and aside from Boudoir and original Narcisso, there were not many perfumes in my life that made me feel this way. If I had to describe it in simple terms, I would say that Elixir smells like a cocktail of original 1986 Panthere de Cartier blended with La Panthere Extrait and a whole lot of sexy. I purchased mine from Cartier USA because they offer 1.6oz bottles; shipping was 3 days and the packaging was superb, in a real Cartier style and presentation. EDIT: Longevity is abysmal. It does not last even an hour. Disappointing performance for Cartier.

You know you cannot trust Fragrantica community when you see poor longevity while this thing is eternal ! I prayed it on paper and it is still going strong after 6 days in my coat pocket. Then the rating is very low, but this is a pure masterpiece ! Floral at first, and then the heart and drydown who lasts forever like I said, evolving to the better side of historic chypre but for modern days. I undesratnd it won't fit anybody, and it's normal. But in terms of perfume quality, second to none. Common guys get a fragrance culture, go smell classic perfumes, do you homework. Then come back to this. You'll understand. Bravo Mathilde Laurent.

Panthère Elixir by Cartier is divine, sophisticated, and incredibly easy to wear. It epitomizes a classic French floral perfume reimagined in a modern way. Main accords💙 include Floral, Fresh, Chypre, Powdery, and Animalic. Features romantic gardenia, soft jasmine, and elegant iris, complemented by soft musk and creamy sandalwood. Bright citrus notes like bergamot provide refined freshness, while green nuances of geranium enhance the composition. The Panthère elixir offers excellent longevity, lasting over 10 hours on my skin, with a pleasant sillage that delivers delicate bursts of scent without being overwhelming.

Gorgeous. Undeniably feline. Vintage vibe but very smooth and at the same time faceted. Retains the character of the EDP. The jasmine sparkles here and there on a powdery skin like musk. Gardenia is still present. Very calming. Very wearable. I cannot believe the quality of this perfume. There is something verging on solar but very soft. Mossy but not too warming which differs from the EDP, which I appreciate. Once in a while I get bits of apricot peaking through. So enjoyable. I could wear this everyday. Very long lasting on me. Absolutely masterfully created.

@Francescapantera, only 3 people marked this perfume as "I have it". I am one of them. I can tell you for sure that it has zero staying power. Projection is good while it lasts, which is under an hour. It is not even a skin scent after an hour, it is just gone. I was so disappointed that I actually looked up Cartier return policy, but I was unable to send it back. I have 8 other Panthera versions and this is the only one with performance issues. Big big big disappointment. My advice is to look up the Extrait dab on In a gold fold up box on eBay. It's amazing!

gothic . much like the original but less fruity and no anise . it wears on my wrist despite trying to wash and lotion it away still after 7hrs . compared to the OG its more wearable and slightly more metallic to me . apricot is still around but faint and dried out lending a nude quality . the SA at nordys was pestering me bad about replica and flower bomb so i couldnt really romanticize the moment . i really like it, a more polished panther, a hairless cat if you will . (layers great with honeysuckle & davana - jo malone)

Oh man! Deep, creamy, multifased sensual marvel! I love the Parfum version and I thought, La Panthere can ́t be done more perfectly. It can ́t be more, but there ́s more way of perfections. If Parfum goes in direction juicy fruity deep patchouli, Elixir has that thick jasmine animalic edge. Fantastic... And yes, chypre style is for the sofisticated ones

Instant love for me this one 😍 Off the nozzle it smells a bit like cacherel Eden Undeniably femine musky floral beast mode fragrance. Yes could be seen as vintage to some, although I personally don't think it's that vintage certainly not pissy vintage anyway.

The opening is a very concentrated white floral accord. Jasmine dominates, with an oily richness rather than the usual bright, airy white-flower character. It has a soft density. At this stage there is already a faint animalic nuance, like a subtle warmth coming from skin. After about fifteen minutes, gardenia begins to emerge. Here the gardenia clearly moves toward a creamy white-floral direction. The floral notes become rounder and smoother, even slightly reminiscent of the kind of creamy white-flower scent found in high-end skincare. Some people describe a powdery quality, though it feels more accurate to call it a creamy texture with a light powdery undertone. In the drydown, musk becomes dominant. The florals settle close to the skin, and the musk develops into something warm and clean with a hint of body heat. The whole fragrance becomes very soft, almost like the scent of skin after applying body lotion. Compared with the original Cartier La Panthère, the difference is quite clear. The original is a more typical modern chypre floral, with fruit, patchouli, and a sharper structure that carries a certain feline wildness. The Elixir version removes most of that sharpness. The fruit is almost gone, and the patchouli is reduced, leaving a more concentrated combination of white florals and musk. Its sensuality therefore is not sharp or dramatic, but intimate and skin-like. The impression is closer to an elegant woman in velvet. Longevity is very strong.

I am not sure why they call it Floral. Also, notes on fragrantica do not make sense. It is a Chypre, yes a bit floral. It has a classic chypre composition: oakmoss, resin, and light fruity. Cold and warm together, rather dark. I did not find any dominant jasmine. Musky??? I'm not so sure; maybe some, but not prominent. Civet? No, but amimalic - yes. My first impression was similar to Sisley Eau De Soir. It is not the same, but same vibe. It smells old times, like 1970-1980s chypres. It is probably the only modern chypre tailored classically but also in a contemporary way. It is very wearable. It is more transparent than vintage chypres and has less longevity and projection. I find it a good thing, as it is wearable in the morning, in the office, and even in a hot, humid tropical country. If Chloe Nomad is not chypristic enough for you, go for La Panthere Elixir. I rather like it than not.

This is very oily and warm, but still fluffy and non-burdening. Its oldschool and I think it may be up to musk - we now are all used to this white clean musk, molecular, shampooey, clean sheets and this is an animal. This reeds ladylike and serious, not fresh and clean. I experience it as a balsamic fragrance almost. I would never say that this is a white floral, I am so shocked. I like it but it has nothing to do with me for now association: Egypt, precisely a tomb and ancient pomades, black kohl drawn eyes, Anubis *edit: after 5h just a faintest trace was left on my inner elbow, so this is definitely not long lasting nor it projects well on me

Very creamy gardenia with a somewhat indolic jasmine . The jasmine is not off putting but it is animalic . The gardenia is also the star here, it’s a buttery and creamy gardenia. The fragrance has airy quality to it and it feels extremely sophisticated and elegant . This feels like being wrapped in a cloud of jasmine flowers, gardenia and musk . On the Cartier website it mentions the note of amber and Iris but I don’t detect those two notes . I would love to wear this in cold weather with a leather jacket . You need to try this on skin to get the full experience. Mathilde is a wonderful and very skilled perfumer .

I am so thrilled by comments, as I do not feel any urine, floral, musc, gardenia or jasmine. For me it is a great modern chypre with the normal longevity.

Oh hell yes! I’ve been waiting for Cartier to release something new especially in the Panthere line

no one mentions the lactonic in main accords yet it contributes a definite creamy milky odor.

This smells different than the others , no fruit at all. A dense flower with powder and musk. Potent and long lasting, you definitely don’t need more than two sprays. Leaning towards vintage imho

Too vintage it has absolutely nothing to do with the others la panthères I get a dusty aldehydic 80’s floral and that’s all
