Must de Cartier Parfum 2015

I have owned this for over a year and I just adore this! I had to hunt down a bottle and get the correct one the red and gold and it's soo worth the try! If you like green floral vanilla like guerlain angelique noire then odds are you'll love this. To me this a greener more Jasmine version of eau duelle diptyque. It has this clean rich girl type smell. It's kinda simple but at the same time it's not. This is just a classic fragrance and I cherish my bottle!!! Both the Jasmine and Galbanum smell clean in this I know sometimes Jasmine can have a weird wet dog smell and sometimes dirty or dated just like Galbanum can sometimes smell old, dated, just not good lol. This isn't that. This is a green vanilla with slight floral nuances! Just beautiful 😍 I will say I also have the older version the must de Cartier Gold and I kinda like it a touch more than this one. That one has Osmanthus in it and creates a tad more depth. The juice of my older must de Cartier Gold now matches this bottle because the juice is so old the vanilla has turned this beautiful deep dark red color and the glass is clear. Only way I can tell them apart is on the front had this clear stickers with the notes listed and one has Osmanthus and the other doesn't. But being this one is newer it'll probably be easier to get ahold of than the older version must de Cartier Gold and then remember that instead of a clean glass the old version will most likely be red as well because of the aged vanilla. These are 100% definitely worth a smell they are beautiful and one of those scents that smell differently on every one so you'll never smell like someone else and who doesn't like a beach upscale green vanillic perfume 😉 out of the two must de Cartier and must de Cartier Gold, I prefer the depth and almost watery green floral with the vanilla that 2015 version is lacking in.

My signature perfume Must De Cartier I eventually found back in the early 80s after years of searching and testing fragrances and returning home empty handed with a sad unfulfilled look on my face much to the disappointment of my late husband. From that point on my late husband would always get me Must De Cartier for My birthday and he always gave me wads of cash to go buy more every time the sales were on, I often returned with 5 or 6 Must De Cartier products and a beaming smile on my face. It also meant when prices skyrocketed i did not have to worry as i had quite a large stash tucked away. When friends and other people ask what fragrance i am wearing I often reply Must De Love AKA Must De Cartier because it reminded me of my beloved late husband Kevin. Because it had took me so long to find a perfume that I absolutely loved I squired away a number of unopened bottles knowing one day it would possibly be discontinued. I was in my late teens and knew nothing about fragrances back then just that i had found the one that screamed my name. The only time had had heard the word reformulation back then was on TV adverts for shampoos conditioners hair colours etc lol Making products better supposedly. So you cam imagine my disappointment when i decide to treat myself to a new bottle for my birthday in 2013 10 months after my husband had passed. I was so disappointed in the reformulation that i returned home empty handed and comforted my self with a quick sprits from 1 of the bottles in my stash draw curtesy Kevin :-)

this is what i consider a masterpiece. i own a 10 mL pure parfum of must de cartier from the 80s (the black bottle that comes in a leather case) and idk if this has the same note breakdown and it's Fragrantica's inaccuracy for listing 3 notes, or if this actually has 3 notes. in any case, this DOES NOT smell as simple as a Fragrantica's note breakdown. what DOES this smell like? cigarettes, green smoky galbanum-originated cigarettes on a bed on mature, not creamy but mellow-white floral full vanilla, not powdery/boozy/too floral, just the perfect amount of vanilla to still keep a warm background but i can see how someone WOULDN'T consider it as gourmand. it's old yet so modern. i don't like to use cliche words like timeless and elegant to describe it, but i'm lacking better descriptions. it's not for everyone since galbanum and the cigarette vibe is prominent. but it is a 15/10 in my book.

Oh my joy with the one encased in the golden flacon! Superbly subdued vanilla. It’s like seeing glints of pink in a sea of emeralds swathed in sunset. Gladly, the parfum doesn’t have the persistence of citrus notes. This one could possibly be one with Guerlain’s L’Arte et la Matiere line. I am trying to glean a somewhat chocolatey or a cola-ish accord because of the combination of amber and vanilla but it has been tamed! The galbanum is the star with vanilla as its partner. How could someone create something powdery and vanillic while giving off sophistication? I would like to note that the greenness here somewhat suggests something scrubbed clean and then freshened up with herbal tones but it’s so beautiful. Forgive me if my words don’t convey properly the pronouns it merits but everyone get a hand of this!

I think this is quite a good reformulation. It is less balsamic and oriental than the original formulation - the green notes have been given a boost, while the balsamic notes are softer than in the original. However I still love it, since, despite some small changes, it still smells closer to the original than it has for some years. (For those who have not experienced the original, this is a striking green oriental featuring sweet, ambery/balsamic notes cut by an incisive galbanum note. It was chosen, quite rightly imho, by Michael Edwards in his book "Perfume Legends" as one of the greats of 80s perfumery.)

How can a concoction with such a limited composition be so complex! Galbanum, vanilla and jasmine do really perform a quite elaborate spicy dance here. This is such a wonderful floriental, albeit less beastly than the original Must which really was an amazing kick in the gut when I first laid my nose on it. But this is good: green vanilla, go figure, and spicy black chocolate, with a beautiful flowery touch. No indication from me on season or time of day: this works for all moments. Love!

one of the best green vanillas I've smelled! this is potent though. I will try to find an older bottle of this but I know its gonna cost a kidney. This is strong with red juice so it can stain ( at least the older ones). it's kind of a strong green, I wished the vanilla was a bit stronger here to my liking but I definitely appreciate this vintage. Would recommend this for my dad/mom for sure. 9/10 overall, this is an experience for the ages.

This is pure love for me. I have nothing else like this in my collection. The galbanum is not too green for me at all. Sometimes too much of it makes me nauseous. This is the perfect combination of galbanum, vanilla and spice. Not a pepper spice, but a warm spiciness like the classic perfumes of the 80's and before. It's just perfect; I wouldn't change a thing and it lasts all night on me.

Spicy floriental; majorly green and a touch bitter as it roars in its opening, tapers down to a subdued and lightly chocolatey green vanilla. Best suited for autumn & winter, lasts for ages on the skin and definitely projects. I was gifted this bottle, I don't believe this is still available.

Adore this. Yes, I have worn Opium, Obession and Addict back in the day, and I agree it reminds me of those. But, but....in a good way. So I also love this. It takes me back. I am happy to have this wafting about me. In love. It lasts all day. Try a sample! Perfect for winter.

I have the perfume which I believe it's quite different from the EDT. It is very green and very botanical yet flora, feminine and powdery on the dry down. It's the perfect fragrance to wear outdoors at sundown....

Complex and unique. On my skin it is a green, soft floral glow with little vanilla showing. Addictive and intoxicating from the first spray. Absolute love. Full bottle worthy.

I'm testing this now, but I'm shocked it smells very similar to the first one I remember from mid 80's, unlike the new edp.

It smells like what I would imagine Ron Burgundy's house smells like... It's very vintage, it's very car salesman. It's pure harsh geranium and soft vanilla (after the dry down). So if that's your jam, you'll love this. 60% of the time it works, every time.

Must formulation from 2015 is a master craft classic scent. I love it, it's great for a rainy days and winter, or cold continental nights at any seasons, works extremly well with Mediterranean or near the sea climate when it's cold. Warm, pleasant and a bit lurky woody sweet without being foody sweet at all or sugary, it's sophisticated. Opening is complex and well balanced, a bit woody a bit spicy and chocolaty. It smells like environment and atmosphere, not food. That stays for an hour, than another hour is less spicy, and more vanilla. Downside ofthis stage is a trace of soapiness and soon it's settles to a skin scent, more on vanilla side. That works good in intimate moments with another person, because it's not loud or heavy, and the spirit from the opening can appear again here and there. Longivity is 3-4 hours, can not be compared with old, original version and should not be compared with eau de toilette version of Must, that is a substantially different scent and better for daily use. Moschino is similar, but it's goes more on Chanel soapy side with development, and it's not deep as Must, genre is very similar but not development and end.

OK. So I blind but this based on reviews on Fragrantica and the Nordstrom website. Not sure exactly why I blind bought it, that’s seems to be just what I do (shrug). Anyway, first spray hits you in the face. It’s aggressive, spicy, and my first reaction was, “Not on your life!”ay. But...since I’ve been exploring different scent profiles lately, I knew I needed to give it a moment. It does have an 80s vibe, but just in the opening. It’s very spicy, strong, and green. After about 10 minutes, it stops growling at you, and softens to a nice green vanilla scent. I’ve only heard of green vanilla scents, at this point, but here you have it. I thought I made a big mistake with this purchase but I think it could be very cool to rock this at the moment and I don’t think I’d have many others wearing it as well in my circle. I’ll just make sure I’m not around many people during that first 5 to 10 minutes. It could be a day sent if you go easy, and if you go hard, well, save it for the night perhaps?

Firstly, the obvious must be stated, The 2015 reformulation of Must de Cartier parfum's official listed notes are absurdly underdone. Just galbanum, vanilla, and a little jasmine won't get you anywhere near Must de Cartier. Secondly, the less immediately obvious must also be told. Despite, the reformulation, this Must de Cartier still carries much of the rich, powdery heart of the original. Yes it opens much more brightly green, as the galbanum has been up-dosed, (that much is true), ...but beneath that there is a sea of complexly ambered dust. So is the now long-gone original better? Yes, ...of course. But just imagine if Cartier had issued this 2015 version as a flanker instead of as a replacement. What a wonderful world that would have been.

I am so happy to have found this perfume! I was looking for a scent that smelled like my vintage Obsession body powder. It starts out sharp but soon blooms into creamy vanilla and spices. It is gentle to the nose while also being very present. This fragrance is more appropriate for evening but I still wear it during the day at times when I just don't care. It's simply breathtaking.

such a strange fragrance, VERY weird, but also, very unique, it's basically a green toned vanilla, warm, but sharp, not very comfortable to wear. I'd see a vampire wearing this fragrance, its vintage coded and sophisticate. it's good if you wanna wear something exclusive!

This is my personal opinion. After trying on my skin this is VERY similar to Must the Cartier pour Homme Essence. I used to love Essence and it got discontinued. This is the fancier replacement! Perfect. Masculine and very elegant vibe. Unisex for sure

Powdery and delicate. I smell sandalwood. Vanilla is not among my favourite notes, but it is not too prominent here. Perfectly unisex scent. Galbanum is quite present but is not too bitter and green as it use to be.

You have to be a very careful where you purchase it. Yes buy straight from a good retailer. The formula in Nieman Marcus is absolutely non acceptable. Go to Bloomingdales ! I am not kidding at this moment.

Gorgeous green vanilla...nevertheless there is definitely something vetiver-y that reminds me of Djedi and Onda..

Smells like both Opium and Calvin Klein Obsession. Also a little hint of Dior Addict EDP. Very classy

The bottle looks extremely similar to Grés Cabaret pour homme.

Reformulation my dear, reformulation.

Moschino is a great dupe for this!
