So Pretty

Cartier So Pretty really lives up to its name. This was another fragrance that I was gifted by my Grandmother before her passing. It was a vintage EDP Tester still in the box. This fragrance simply glows with beauty--at first sniff, I detected the Rose and Neroli, then the Mandarin or Tangerine arrives hot on the flowery-decorated heels. Its all elevated to sparkling new heights with the help of aldehydes. The creamy peach starts standing out, and for just a split second reminded me of my beloved Mitsouko EDP, BUT just for a few moments. The musk doesn't really come into play until the dry down, then I can really pick up the sandalwood as well. I've found that this scent can linger softly on my skin for up to 12 hours, and two modest sprays is really all that's necessary to really make a big impact. I love to wear this as my bedtime scent. Very soothing to a weary body and mind. I am a guy, and I have to say that I completely resist the idea of "gender branding" fragrances. To me, saying a Rose is "feminine" or "not masculine" (Hammam Bouquet anyone?) is simply programming and a marketing schtick. That being said, I've not tried to pull this one off in public yet--although I'm not adverse to the idea. I feel like it needs to be represented in a classy manner--bowtie or nice button down shirt required for me to really give this creation the respect that it deserves. It is a Cartier creation after all. A true Gem. Majestic and Regal in all it's glory. So classy and oh so pretty!

I love this scent! I bought it years ago, I was around 27 and quite girly, but I fell in love with this smell and wanted to wear it. It actually fitted my personality, feminine, joyful and a little aristocratic. It's one of the few scents I had more than 1 bottle (given or bought). It's a very classy scents and I don't think it's for mature women, rather a young lady scent. It's also a little formal yet warm in the basenotes, sensual floral-woody. My chemitry doesn't usually agree with woody notes, still So Pretty must be so well balanced it melts with my chemistry after a short while. Floral notes in it are very refined and elegant, while the woods keeps the whole blend stable, slitghly powdery and warm, especially teh sandalwood note is very fine and not bitter at all. I would say it's a romantic scent for upscale dating, sprinkling elegant sensuality, no vulgarity. EdT is very enjoyable and strong without being overpowering. EdP is more intense and thicker, could be disturbing in hot weather if overdone.

What an immense emotion ... finding this wonderful rarity here on Fragrantica ... the perfume of my 20 years in the 90s. I received it unexpectedly as a gift, from an aspiring suitor, I immediately fell in love with it (of So Pretty of course). Different from other Cartier fragrances, So Pretty appeared fresher and less demanding. I have a memory of it citrusy at the first spray, sparkling, and then conveying in the floral dry, the dominant iris with a train of appreciable lily of the valley with this woody, musky background and still hints of citrus, cedar and benzoin, which turned in the hours into a reassuring and enveloping talc. I remember an important Sillage. The duration was appreciable even many hours later. I wonder why the Cartier maison withdrew this wonderful fragrance of the famous Jean Guichard nose from the market? Because !? Mysteries

Growing up I use to admire this young incredibly stylish and freshly married neighbor. She and my much older sisters were enviably tall, and of course, that never happened to me. Somewhere in my teens, she befriended me. I discovered how funny and joyful a person can choose to be despite highly competitive work environment, complicated family situation, financial and health problems. Coming from humble background, nothing was ever handed to her. Being shamed at her very first job for her lack of sophistication she decided never to feel like ugly duckling again. To me, she always looked and smelled incredible. Still does. So Pretty. There is a freshness in the girl next door kind of way and the natural elegance some people just have. Like great posture. Effortlessly charming.

Refined and beautiful...and eventhough it was launched in 95 it screams to me the proper refinement of a "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." young lady or Mad Man...perfectly fitted outfit and gestures, so proper and elegant ... For the young one, but a young from another era. This scent truly transports me to refined and 'custom tailored' years. Jean Guichard is a 'magician' -(I love how Eden also transports me, in that case to a lush garden from another 'dimension'). Sillage on my skin is about 1ft, safe for office. Longevity is great, when sprayed in the evening my skin is still deliciously scented the next morning. So Pretty is a 'must have' classic! PS: the more I wear this one, the more I LOVE this gem...it is truly So Pretty. I surely need to restock...

This is not a 'floral green', it's a full-on chypre. Take the bubbly aldehydes in Balenciaga Le Dix, add some cold, almost aloof woody iris in Guerlain Vol De Nuit, sprinkle it with the '90s ubiquitous powdery fruity notes, particularly peach and berry, and then spread them altogether on the green, mossy base of vintage Miss Dior - this is what So Pretty is to me. It nods to the classic chypres that predate it and twist them with a modern fruitiness, which essentially makes it more relevant in today's time. Oh and did I mention that it also has one of the most GORGEOUS fizzy rose notes? Nothing but love for Cartier!

So Pretty de Cartier eau de parfum ticks so many boxes for me. I spent many months looking for a classic rose chypre whose perfume notes would include lots of "green", maybe some citrus, lily of the valley, jasmine, woods and oakmoss. I also wanted something I felt I could wear for any occasion, work or play.... S P does not disappoint. On my skin... The opening is dry and sparkling ~bergamot and ugli fruit Lush roses, vibrant dewberries and wet moss quickly follow ending with earthy forest berries, pine cones and sandalwood. Eden in a bottle.

To my nose and skin this is a floral chypre. And a beautiful one at that. Subtle, sweet but not cloying, a bit dry, green and fresh, a perfect combination for spring and summer. It has a similar vibe as Soir de Lune, but in a much more soft en understated way. Moderate sillage and very tenacious. It oozes high quality and refinement. SP is indeed very pretty! So Pretty is aptly named. Once when I was wearing it on a business trip, a colleague of mine got into the hotel elevator and said "God! What are you wearing?" When I told him, he said "I never liked that fragrance until I smelled it on you - that should be your signature." And it is.

As a previous review said, this perfume is like recieving an expensive bouquet of the most expensive flowers of the world. It has a very unique smell and that I believe that could be the diamond orchid. A very classy perfume that gives you a feeling of luxury and pure glamour.

Cartier please bring back this gem! I have never found a fragrance that could compete with this one. So Pretty had it all: the simple yet stylish bottle and the absolutely addictive smell that lasted long. My signature sent. The prettiest of all. I still miss it..

Another gem gone. Great scent as I wrote below. Lovely, elegant yet seducing. They discontinued it. So many raving opinions and Cartier didn't think it was worthy keeping it? Maybe they fear that a re-made So Pretty could disappoint its lovers.

This has been discontinued for several years. I found a 100 ml in a perfume store in Montreal, it was a little expensive, but I had to have. I had been searching for this gem for over 10 years.

Sophisticated, classic, luxurious and gorgeous! I get compliments non-stop when I wear this and it lasts all day long. This is happiness for me and I look forward to it in my rotation.

So Pretty is a high-quality fruity chypre that lives up to its name. I quite like Cartier's perfume offerings, both current and vintage, and SP is no exception. I have a vintage miniature. SP opens with a juicy, fresh blackberry note, bolstered by soft orangy neroli and citrus notes. There is a hint of powdery iris present from the beginning, with some restrained peach adding sweetness. The sweet rose note becomes quite prominent as it develops on my skin, complemented by the other florals, making for an elegant bouquet. The iris and orris root temper the sweetness, keeping it beautifully powdery. It becomes wonderfully soapy after a while. As it dries down, the classic, old-fashioned chypre base comes to the fore, adding a mossy earthiness to the florals. The woody notes are smooth and rich, and it fades to a musky, slightly earthy skin scent after a while. The blackberry is softly present in the background throughout, evolving as the scent develops. It becomes more boozy than its berry-like presence at the opening, adding a cassis-like quality. The blackberry note keeps an otherwise run-of-the-mill floral chypre distinctive, interesting and modern - a masterful inclusion. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Effortlessly feminine and elegant SP is a classic chypre updated for a modern audience. Full bottle worthy if it wasn't discontinued. Indeed so very pretty. 4/5.

This is a very powdery peach fragrance, which smells exactly like a mix of Johnsons baby powder and Yvresse by Yves Saint Laurent. I find it slightly dated to an 80's vibe, which is no bad thing, it is lush and pleasant. I get no 'green' in this at all though and find it firmly stuck in the heavy floral fruity category, which isn't my fave (at the moment!). I still stick by the above review, but now own it a few years (!!) on, it reminds me a lot of tresor but maybe slightly less fluorescent, it's elegant, soft, calming and, yes, very pretty indeed.

Very elegant, for a moment reminded me of the one Ivoire de Balmain creamy note. This is actually a complex composition which takes about half an hour to open and show all the richness. Not tied to any season, but to me as all the beautiful scents of this group just perfect for spring. It's classy, glamorous and incredibly feminine, everything is so finely balanced. So Pretty will keep long on your skin, later even as you feel a gentle touch of silk. So Pretty as its name says and the bottle is gorgeous.

Finally the summer is here and I can wear this beauty again....I pretty much forgot about it because it wasn't deep enough for colder weather. Absolutely adorable green composition with some soapy undertones. It must be the oakmoss that gives it that mysterious vibe similar to Niki Saint Phalle(they are especially similar in the drydown). The sillage and longevity of EDP are excellent...hours of elegance and sophistication.

This perfume meminds me a royal beauty, a timeless elegance, a fragile femininity, golden age of perfume industry. It's floral, oriental, yet light and soft. When I spray it I feel the most special in the crowd, I even don't need a fancy gown, I fell very special while wearing it. Really beautiful perfume, one of a kind...

So Pretty is so lovable. It is summerlike and green indeed, but with a very sweet depth. I wouldn't classify as just another likeable floral. This obviously is a Cartier scent. Too stylish to be just pretty: it is So Pretty.. Edit 29/06/2011 Eau de parfum Sillage: medium Longevity: 3-4 hours

It is the beautiful scent. I use EDT on special ocasions or in spring. Very well unites to me. Is floral but also green and very , very subtle. When first time I smelt it I was 22 years old , I smelt very elegant for the exceptional , delicate woman.... Realy super.....

Spicy and warm, with a slight boozy note like fine cognac, So Pretty is pretty indeed. Well blended and refined, this unisex scent is popular for good reasons. Good sillage and lasting power. So Pretty is my first Cartier scent, and I'm very happy with this purchase.

1st try, loveley blackberry fruity chypre. Today, soapy rose then salty wood. I must confess I am wearing a ton of it (EDP) so with this one, more is more...soap that is. **Floral green??? NO! This is an aldehydic chypre!**

...Very very Pretty indeed!!!!!! ...yes..so "aristocratic"... This fragrance is for any woman who wants to smell feminine and classy! This is for special ocasions, like a Wedding or a Cocktail Party... Beautiful ...

(EDT) So Pretty is indeed a chypre standard-without the patchouli. This is what enticed me to want to try it in the first place. That-and the discrepancy between the name and the juice. The heart notes to the base are very serious and pleasant-a dry green not quite as deep as forest green, like the color of the liquid-with powdery classical flowers that make an elegant contrast to the strong bitterness of the mossy base. I would certainly turn my head if I smelled this on somebody. But I can't enjoy it on myself-as the aldehydes in the opening combine with the bitterness-soapy bitterness is the opening chord for me, not refreshing bitterness. It takes just too long for this to pass on me-call me an impatient modern youth, wanting to hurry up and enjoy the "pretty", to not pay my dues in breathing in the aristocratic sparkling bitters...Fine, that's me. you either like aldehydes or you don't, but you have to wait to smell what else happens in an aldehydic fragrance either way. I see no point in waiting most of the time (and I've tried, I've waited for hours...) I could just be happy to smell the lovely base on someone else, and wear something with a more natural opening.

This is really pleasant on first spray and reminds me of perfumes I smelled as a child. However, on my blotter, this turns rancid and (...apologies for those who have a nostalgic connection to this...) takes on a cat pee smell. I know jasmine can do that at times, but perhaps my decant was not stored properly prior to my ownership - hard to tell. I was hoping to get more of the fruit opening and soapy dry down that others are mentioning, but unfortunately, this is a hard no for me.

Strong, overpowering musky floral. Mature, complex and evening wear only. It steps in a notch shortly after it hits the skin; open that window:/! Similar to L'air du Temps. This is not pretty type of a fragrance at all. Mucho nasteeh!

So Pretty - the name already suggests a likeable floral. It's to me like many scents out there. A nice pretty floral. Maybe close to Elizabeth Arden "Pretty" or I am just thinking of it because of the names ?

Disgusting,it smells like burnt chilli peppers on me !!I,ve been in the bath for three hours ( cough) and I smell like a cheap veggie stand..a scrubber indeed in the full English sense.

i bought it when i was around 19 years old and after a while i felt like it was to mature for me..and this is one of the few scents that gives me headache..

So Pretty In Perfume I have been looking for Cartier's So Pretty for the longest time. It was easier to find a vintage Guerlain's Jicky from 1889 and Coty's La Rose Jacquemot from 1904 than it was to find a 1995 vintage Cartier So Pretty. In the mid 90's this beauty did not hit most mainstream department stores. It was to be found in Cartier Boutiques in such notable premier shopping Meccas as Fifth Avenue in Manhattan New York City, Chicago's Magnificent Mile and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills California. It would have been advertised in magazines but I don't recall TV commercials. Cartier is famously known as one of the finest jewelers of all time, in the same league as Harry Winston and Tiffanys. So most people went in to purchase diamond earrings, bracelets or necklaces, and it was most likely the men going in there, and they would have taken notice of the glass bottle with round gold stopper containing a shimmering gold liquid. What could that be? It's perfume! In a jewelry store. Might as well buy it for the wife to go with her new jewelry. This must have been the gimmick. Cartier So Pretty has been discontinued, at least in the United States. What you get on ebay is appalling miniatures or one fourth one half or one and seven ounce bottles. There are also tester bottles without a box. The regular sizes of 3.3 or 3.4 ounces are gone. They could still be selling in foreign countries that have Cartier boutiques: Monte Carlo, Paris, London, Beirut, Dubai, or even Buenos Aires Argentina. I was very lucky this time. I have a girfriend who is a professional perfumer and she sold me her brand new, never before unboxed, 3.4 ounce bottle. I felt like I had found my Holy Grail perfume, the one that almost got away. It's like an enormous orange blossom, with such a beautiful fragrance that can overwhelm you if you smell it for too long. Just like Cartier diamond and sapphire masterpiecs, So Pretty is a radiant amber gold that just happens to be a perfume. The nose behind this fragrance is a master. He is Jean Guichard who had also created Calvin Klein's Obsession, Cacharel's Loulou and Eden, Nina Ricci's Deci Dela and Trussardi's Donna Trussardi. NOTES IN CARTIER'S SO PRETTY Head Notes: Blackberry, Mandarin Orange, Peach, Tunisian Neroli, Sicilian Bergamot Heart Notes: Iris, Diamond Orchid, Orris Root, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose Base Notes: Musk Sandalwood, Benzoin, Oakmoss Vetiver Cedar When Guichard was making So Pretty, he included a diamond shaped orchid which had never been done before in perfumery. It's rather unfortunate that I don't get the orchid because the top notes have citrus notes that totally dominate the aroma. This is the most orange flavored perfume I have ever smelled. It's like an enormous orange blossom opening up in front of you. In this capacity it resembles Amarige by Givenchy. I would also compare it to the aldehyde opening in Givenchy's L'interdit. The aldehydes are not very strong and are decidedly more powdery or, to my nose, a tiny bit like nail polish at a beauty salon. But the strong orange is what you most get, or what I most got. The jasmine is there but it's not a big motif. Anyone who knows anything about flowers will tell you that the orange blossom is a wedding flower (Just like gardenia) and it is supposed to be worn by brides on their wedding day. This perfume is therefore suited to wear to your wedding day with your expensive and amazing wedding gown. It's more fruity than floral so if you like fruity perfumes this one will enchant you. It's absolutely a summer and spring fragrance. It's a skin scent when applied with a light touch. I think this is how it's supposed to be used. Don't douse yourself with it or the aldehydes take over and then So Pretty is Not So Pretty. There was, for a brief moment, something similar to the green notes in Balmain's Ivoire de Balmain, the original vintage Ivoire. That was such a nice nod to it that I felt so pleased to discover it because Ivoire is another fragrance that is very dear to me. It has a calm, greeness which feels totally real, like real leaves and plants. It did not linger too long, or it would have turned into an autumn fragrance. The orange juice in this perfume, heightened by the sparkling aldehydes, gives it a freshnesss and spring like quality. The dry down is initially powdery and then become dry like dry leaves on your skin. So Pretty is not the astounding fragrance I thought it would be. I thought it would be similar to the glamour in First by Van Cleef and Arpels. This is stil a very lovely fragrance and it falls under the category of FLORAL CHYPRE. This is not an Oriental as the notes do not come from the Orient nor evoke Persia, India or China. This smells more like the Mediterranean: the south of France, Monaco, Monte Carlo, the eastern coastline of Spain, Majorca, Ibiza, or like Italy, and Greece. It's really too fruity for me but it's not bad at all. It's a wearable orange. This fragrance makes me think twice about citrus notes in perfumes. If done right, it can be, like the fragrance name, SO PRETTY.

Review Of The Eau De Toilette Spray Purchased On eBay Cartier fragrances, like their jewelry, epitomize sophistication and luxury but some of them, like So Pretty, are actually quite subtle and far from excessive or extravagant. I was taken aback by this perfume after having worn Cartier's flamboyant jungle floral La Panthere for many years. It is still my favorite Cartier and the one I wear the most. But this is not bad a-t-all! The bottle matches up with Cartier gold. The color of the liquid and cap match up with the scent. A fresh citrusy floral for the summer season. Elegant. Classy. Subtle. Sophisticated. Although it may come off as quite mature by today's standards, especially when compared to the junk out there, this fragrance is representative of of a young and beautiful, well-dressed and very stylish woman of high social status. She is an independent Grace Kelly type blonde with her own money, independent nature, and self-worth. The fragrance is suited to day wear: floral print sundresses, maxi dresses, cool long sleeved blouses with necklines to reveal the neck but not the cleavage, as this fragrance is rather conservative. Opens with fruit notes. First a neroli at the top, citrusy and strong with all the orange flavored scents around it: bergamot orange groves, orange blossoms, and mandarin, definitely mandarin. Smells of green leaves around orange trees as well so green notes are to be found in the top. A bit of peach fuzz and a slightly sour blackberry give it a delectable but discreet fruity scent. Since this fragrance dates from the mid-90's, it makes sense because so many perfumes from that decade were quite fruity and floral. This one's no exception. I love that neroli and mandarin and the orange juice is so drinkable! Sparkling like citrus based cocktails or even a bit of heady champagne. Fresh and pleasant. The florals are not very elaborate and in fact quite simple, but they are woven together around the green notes. The rose is the dominant flower, as is the iris. Powdery floral rose and iris also known as orris root. For a length of time all I get is the iris but then it turns into a noticeably green lily of the valley bush. A distinct lily of the valley in a little wood. In the dry down the herbal and aromatic nature of the perfume comes through. I smell vetiver, oak moss and woods. The cedar and sandal are gorgeously rendered and provide the support those flowers need. This is most definitely a chypre but it's sweet and fruity character is totally out of touch with most somber or purely patchouli-based chypres. This is not a traditional chypre and Fragrantica has classified her as a green floral. So Pretty is quite a silly name and sounds like a celebrity scent out of Paris Hilton. So Pretty by insert celebrity name - Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande or whomever. But the fragrance, though pretty, is not artificial nor flirty, innocent, girlish or air-headed. She is a very worldly and very smart woman who knows what she wants, goes after it, and gets it. So Pretty perfume is not complex and has a linear progression. It's a citrus floral or fruity floral but it has a powdery and overtly feminine body. It doesn't smell like cosmetics but at the same time she does seem to want you to wear her with cosmetics, particularly very fine nails that have been polished and colored with pretty colors like pink or red. She is well manicured, French, her hair is usually in an updo even when she is not in a formal setting, she wears expensive clothes, she has sunglasses and little neck scarves, high heels and pendants or earrings. She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in the opening scene to Breakfast At Tiffany's. She would have been wearing this perfume. I wear this as my day time formal equivalent to the evening formal Panthere. They are two very different perfumes with two distinctly diverse personalities but can be worn by the same woman. I've received many a compliment on both perfumes. This one is a welcome new addition to my Cartier favorites. Highly recommended for fans of fruity florals, and of 90's vintages. It has been discontinued but can still be found if you hunt for it on eBay or Amazon.com.

What a crying shame that this fragrance doesn't sell anymore. Who was the simpleton who discontinued this beautiful perfume? I was wearing So Pretty around 1996. This fragrance came in an attractive golden bottle inside a fitted red case. I had a large over 3 ounce size bottle of the Eau de Parfum spray. If you can find it on ebay or anywhere else hang on to it. I wish that I had known how valuable these fragrances would be years after their release. So Pretty was a romantic summer evening cologne for the elegant & fashionable lady. Yes it did in fact sell at the Cartier store. This was an expensive and alluring scent, unlike any other perfume out there today. I can't make any comparisons although it's composition of fruit, florals & sandalwood, with a rich juicy aroma was somewhat similar to Champagne by Yves Saint Laurent or Donna by Pavarotti, Volupte by Oscar De La Renta & Tresor by Lancôme. So Pretty is pretty but she is straight out of the 90's fruity floral scents which were quite popular. The fruity opening is so intoxicating. Deep peach, fresh and sweet mandarin & bergamot, neroli & a tart berry. The neroli is the big top note but it's still such a fruit flavored liqueur, dark fruit, fruit cocktails. She screams summer and day wear, at least in the context of it's time. One can visualize a well dressed Cartier client wearing this perfume on her mini dress or halter top dress while she's having lunch & cocktails. For me the fruit notes are quite strong. Yes this is a pretty powerful scent but at least it smells good. The more of it I inhaled, the more of it I liked. The floral notes consist of iris, rose, orris and orchid. On me this is a powdery rose & iris, as iris is very powdery, in addition to that root of iris. This is a powdery floral with feminine roses & a faint green note which I think is lily of the valley. She's floral alright, but that blackberry is still lingering, not allowing those floral notes to become too serious or too heavy. It was a fragrance tailor made for young women to smell of ripe fruit. This is delicious fruit juice. It's the iris not the rose that is the major player among the florals. When dry this fragrance is powdery, soft and heady with sandalwood. My experienced nose, even by '96, was able to pick up on a lot of other scents. There's a musk, though it's not a big player; a balsamic note, some benzoin, vetiver & woods. This has some Oriental tendencies because of the sandalwood & vetiver but she is not a heavy Oriental either; and because of those woodsy notes, she is more of a chypre. I would classify this scent as a floral chypre. Like I said it's a romantic, sweet and elegant day wear perfume of the summer. I wore her many a summer during the summer break from work I was doing as principal of a high school. I took this beauty with me to parties up and down the East Coast. A nostalgic & classic floral, and "so pretty"!

For me, in my humble opinion, this vintage beauty is pure luxury. This was expensive when it was first launched and today SMELLS just as expensive and high class. Think JIVAGO 24K style. Cartier, the jewelry brand, is no cheap thing; and as such, neither are there fragrances. This comes in a red box as if it was a jewelry box and the bottle is clear revealing the orange-yellow liquid, a glass bottle with a faux gold stopper and it's so - well so pretty! Not only is the bottle a lovely thing, but the scent itself. The first spray reveals the citrus forward top notes. I'm not getting peach, but mainly mandarin orange, bergamot and above all the neroli. The neroli with it's very realistic orange and green leaves around orange blossoms kind of aroma. After the fresh and very realistic orange scent begins to subside, a dash of blackberry. The gourmand fruit notes are quite sweet and tart, with a summer vibe. The flowers in the heart follow the citrus. I'm smelling jasmine, lilies of the valley and a shy iris. If the iris were strong, this perfume would become powdery. It doesn't go there. Instead it's fruity-floral with a strong neroli, a blackberry sweetness and the white floral trail of jasmine and lilies of the valley. The white flowers are the real heart of this perfume. It has a bright and very sweet floral shampoo smell but luxury and nourishing shampoo not some cheap drugstore shampoo. The flowers begin to get warmer because then one picks up on a warm musk and a touch of incense via a benzoin. It's resins and some green notes that are thrown into the base. I smell the vetiver and the sandalwood. A light cedar at the bottom, way at the bottom. As it does begin to fade you do smell a light wood. This whole thing is also reminiscent of the performance of Calvin Klein Obsession, which is also a citrus floral with wood, evoking a tree or rather an orange tree or orange blossom tree. Smells like a grove of trees with citrus and white flowers. A pretty young bride in a gorgeous white gown. This is very feminine, womanly, sweet and grown up. At times the iris note turns into a lipstick kind of scent. Just a perfume that asks you to be polite, refined, wearing an elegant dress and high heels. This is a 90's scent that smell as you imagine Julia Roberts in PRETTY WOMAN after she has been made over in the Rodeo Drive boutiques walking down the street with the shopping bags in that white dress and hat, returning to that boutique where the nasty sales ladies refused to attend her and rubs it in their faces that she had the money and class to shop there after all. This is a sophisticated floral fragrance with a green base. It's great for dressy formal wear but in spring and summer. I recommend it for brides and or very elegant women who are fashionable and love vintage clothing AND fragrances to put on with those vintage fragrances.

A mini of Cartier so pretty was part of one of my friend's birthday gift to me.back then I opened it's golden cap and dabbed a little on my hand and disliked it.I guess what turned me off was that it opens with a strong,bitter alcohol blast due to it's aged juice.I totally forgot about it until recently that I saw it and decided to give it a real try It opens as I remembered but fortunately only it's first few minutes have turned.after that I pickup rose+blackberry+a hint of citrusy,peachy fizz.after a bit,it's citrusy aspect calms down and I'm left with a boozy rose-blackberry combo wrapped by orris powder in a woodsy,mossy base.so I agree with rated notes as rose,oak moss and orris are the strongest notes to my nose and there's definitely woody notes and a touch of fruits l like it's velvety soft touch on my skin.luxurious and gentle.it still has a classic vibe which makes it elegant but doesn't make it dated at all.it's easily wearable nowadays IMO I'm not in the league of So Pretty's huge fans and lovers and I won't go for a big bottle but I find it pleasant and classy and I'd enjoy dabbing precious drops of my mini whenever I want to feel pretty in a sophisticated,elegant way.I'm sure there are a lot of other rose,wood,powder fragrances out there but I agree that this one is one of the bests in this genre Longevity is very good,sillage seems to be moderate مینیاتوری سو پریتی ک من دارم بخاطر قدیمی بودن،تو دو سه دقیقه اولش فقط میشه یه رایحه تند و تلخ الکلی رو استشمام کرد اما خوشبختانه فقط دو دقیقه اولش تغییر رایحه داده و بعد میشه ترکیبی از رز،توت سیاه و یه کوچولو گسی مرکبات،هلو رو حس کرد.بخش مرکباتی رایحه خیلی زود محو میشه و ترکیبی از رز و توت سیاه که کمی رایحه شراب قرمزمانند داره با همراهی رایحه پودری،خاکی ریشه زنبق در بستری چوبی،خزه ای به جا میمونه.درواقع اگه بخوام نت های غالب رو اسم ببرم باید بگم رز،توت سیاه و ترنج تو شروع و تو درای داون رز،خزه بلوط، و ریشه زنبق غالب هستن..رایحه شیک و بالغ و باوقار و کلاسیکی داره اما به هیچوجه جوری از مد افتاده و قدیمی نیست ک نشه امروزه ازش استفاده کرد..بشخصه عاشقش نیستم اما ازش بدم هم نمیاد،بین دهها و شاید بهتره بگم صدها عطر رز-چوب-پودر،کارتیه سو پریتی از خوبهاست..موندگاری خوب و پخش بوی متوسط داره..البته من فقط دو قطره ازش زدم رو پوستم و قطعا اگه اسپری بشه قویتر حس میشه

A mature, classic, rose floral fragrance which is initially strong, but soon goes smoky and close to the skin, then ends up with a sumptous, lovely gentle drydown... I applied 6 heavy sprays 0 - 1 hours. Initially floods the room, then 1.5 foot projection all around. This has a very heavy and strong start! This is a common place, mature, classic fragrance which ouzes wamth with some luxury. Rose and Orchards stand out, though its not very fresh IMHO as it is so heavy. 1 hours - 3 hours - 4 inch projection. Alas the smoky oakmoss and musk develop together and they give a dirty mud backdrop on the skin which spoils this fragrance -not nice IMHO 3-5 hours. 1 inch projection.Smoky oakmoss dominates with a floral hint 5-7 hours. Close to skin, yet a total transformation occurs with a wonderful laid back mild-Sandlewood drydown appearing from absolutely nowhere...how has it gone from the middle notes to this little beauty? and yes pretty now! I recommend that the drydown is bottled as a linear frag from the start and given great projection and you would have a darling fragrance! Its one of those smells that you keep smelling your skin every minute or so. Good opening 1st hour, awful middle and delightful ending to die for

I have gone on to reviewing So Pretty shortly after smelling Guerlain's Mitsouko, and interestingly enough I find them both slightly similar. So Pretty is much fruitier of course, however they are both relatively dry scents with a likable bitterness. A little heavy, but certainly not unpleasant, So Pretty is actually a fragrance I've been trying to track down for years. Classic scents always intrigue me, and So Pretty has not left me disappointed. The most dominant notes to my nose tends to be the tarty rose, orchid, peach and blackberry. It has a somewhat feminine richness, that gives this fragrance an elegant and sophisticated vibe. Despite this fragrance being a little dated these days and also difficult to find, I would encourage many young people to go out and test this fragrance while you still can. There aren't many fragrances like this still around. Forget the soapy and overly sweetened fruity florals of today, So Pretty re-defines fruits and flowers. With excellent sillage and lasting strength, I highly recommend So Pretty.

Very expensive perfume but worth it. I live in Florida and this beauty is pure sunshine on my skin. I can wear this to the beach, to go out shopping or to meet with friends informally and casually. My first reaction: love the bottle. It's SO PRETTY! Looks like it contains real gold. This smells like you've been picking mandarin oranges off a tree in the middle of summer. I could smell the orchid and jasmine. The dry down is soft sandalwood and cedar. So if you like floral-woodsy chypres you gotta try this. Although it's from the 90's it's wearable for today. I didn't feel like I was wearing an old and outdated perfume. I have the Eau De Toilette Spray that came in a fitted red box. I am wearing this baby a lot right now and considering making it my signature scent. I have to wear it long enough to see if this relationship will last!

I love the gold bottle so luxurious the fragrance she remind me a little of Shalimar Parfum Initial but stronger and last longer. So Pretty parfum is floral sweet fresh feminine. The first thing I smell is the neroli and blackberry. Delicious fruity smell. Summery. Then I smell the rose and iris powdery and flowery with green notes with the vetiver and woods of sandalwood and cedar. Is simple but elegant parfum. Good for wearing with pretty and expensive dress, make up, lipstick, jewelry. Is a formal and casual perfume for both day and night but perfect for spring and summer. So feminine and mature glamorous. Is sad Cartier does not make this anymore.

So Pretty is so pretty! Sparkling orange, like a mimosa or gold champagne with a citrus flavor, a sweet berry scent, iris, orchid, rose and additional floral scents of lily of the valley and jasmine mingle with vetiver grass moss and sandalwood. This gets to the point right away and it feels like all the notes are put together and there's not enough time to develop from one note to the other. I smelled everything at once. I have the largest size spray bottle and 2 miniature dab on bottles. This is a summer fragrance for a day time lunch engagement, a romantic getaway or a wedding. It's powdery and feminine, elegant and classy.

This was a blind buy based on some outstanding reviews and my personal fondness for Cartier fragrances. I have yet to smell a Cartier perfume I don’t like. I picked this up on ebay at a decent price as I’ve learned to do - if you find a discontinued fragrance on eBay for a decent price, don’t hesitate because it will not be there for long. So Pretty was a successful blind buy for me. It’s not quite what I was expecting, but it’s nice. It reminds me of Samsara, which I feel a bit nostalgic for from time to time. I don’t see myself reaching for So Pretty often, but it’s a nice one to have in my collection.

Timeless, elegant, enchanting. These are the words that come to mind when wearing this discontinued classic. Neroli is the dominant note for me, with rose and Lily of the Valley and a touch of fruit intertwining with the chypre base. Like others, I would classify this as a floral aldehyde, as I do not get the green note others have. It is of classic structure and is reminiscent of Madame Rochas only more refined. I do not find this overpowering, but longevity is good at around 6-8 hrs. Best worn with high heels and fine jewelry. So, So Pretty.

"So Pretty" is kind of a lame name, isn't it? I suspect the name contributed to its demise and it is actually more than pretty. It is gorgeous! However, when I read others saying how long lived it is, I could cry. If 18 reviews says monster sillage and longevity, and one review says short life...it will be a fleeting pleasure for me. However, this one would be worth repeat sprays. I would love a larger bottle than my mini.

A soft, powdery, floral, "old fashioned" chypre, with the blackberry note lingering in the background. Natural smelling and rich, but I can understand how some might call this "soapy." Then a green note makes its appearance and that makes me think of a florist's shop. Nicely done. If this is what you seek I'd be surprised if you were disappointed by it. UPDATE: Another hour into this and the sandalwood is emerging.

So pretty .What a great scent, timeless in a bottle its a strong scent with holding power .A great scent for a older women.Ceder wood and notes of mossy greens,powdery roses and floral notes .I remember purchasing So Pretty when I was in my twenties its wearable in the daytime ,I am thinking of purchasing So Pretty again soon ,enough. A classic perfume that,s true to its name ,So Pretty !

This is my moms perfume when I was a child. I used to love smelling it on her. My dad used to get me smal samples so i wouldn't use hers. Now I have my own bottel heheh.. It brings loads of good memories. I smell like my mom when she was my age. I broke my bottle... it was full.. Now I dunno from where to get another 1.. I got it from Malaysia.. n am all da way in da middle east :'(

I love this perfume. I have the EDT version. It is a sweet perfume in line of the Estee Lauder original Beautiful fragrance. It is a sweet, floral perfume and makes me feel happy. If one purchases it from ebay cheaply you will be lucky. It is one of favorites out of 300 vintage perfumes. It is a sheer classic and elegant fragrance with amazing silage, projection and quality.

The advert and flacon are so pretty. I didn ́t find it similar to my beloved Miss Dior (maybe only the galbanum), but it ́s very light, citrusy and less powdery version of Chamade (on my skin). Opens with blackberries, vetiver and iris powder, later fruit fades and let the nice powdery galbanum come to life. EDP - close to the skin, lasts cca 5 hours
