Paris Manille

Open with nice dry pink pepper and some sour type of rose. Lots of metallic (and a bit aromatic) undertones from artemisia. It’s all mixed with a huge amount patchouli. Reminds me of ELDO Archives 69 a lot!! I was blind sampling it AGAIN after a couple of months and my impression didn’t change much :) “Lovely herbal scent with bittersweet spices and some nice dried fruits. It smells both tropical and elegant for me, interesting combo. I can also smell some balsamic notes which reminds me immortelle, but probably it’s patchouli and pink pepper that give this effect. I have just discovered this Carven Paris line. I haven't smelled one I didn't like yet. This one, to me, is quite a unique smell. It's described as fruity but it's not the traditional fruity smell. It's kind of a sharp, sweet tropical smell that I can't stop sniffing. I can smell it around me for hours. Lovely whiffs. I'm wearing it in summer and it's just lovely. Smells of quality too. It's marketed as unisex but to me it's more feminine. I'm glad I have this in my collection.

Very unique to my nose - very sharp and addicting fruit on top, I can only assume it is the starfruit; I'm not familiar with this note. I find my nose shriveling to the scent and yet I cant stop smelling it off my hand-BUT when I try a full wear test- I need to take it off immediately. RINSE REPEAT This is a fragrance of very nice quality - the entire line smells fantastic - but do NOT blind buy this one. This is like the neighborhood bad boy that is extremely fine - you enjoy flirting with him and definitely wouldn't mind kissing him BUT the minute you go on a real date - you are like, why am I here?! Yuck, I feel ridiculous.

Been really curious about this one due to the starfruit, which was a big thing in my youth my family really loved it. The crunchy tart fruit with it's unique shape. I'm not sure this smell recreates that entirely, but there is definitely a juicy fruity aspect to it and starfruit is definitely "green" as in not overly sweet more fresh and tart, and slightly herbal/bitter. The artemisia is a little cannabis like to me here. Usually I'm not a fan of it, but if it's subtle then it can enhance the herbal aspects to a perfume. It's not strong to me here - but I am getting loads of patch and spiciness of pepper. Could easily be a winter warmer style scent after the fruity burst in the beginning.

Manille is weirdly done, and i believe it's the plum, artmesia mix that causes that soft weirdness cause i'm sure it's not the star fruit cause star fruit doesn't have an essence itself, it's mostly sugar, water, and a tiny thin smell that i would compare to nylon. Later, it turns into a soft skin essence as i remember it was the skin of someone i know personally, it's musky, hints of pepper, & patchouli. An interesting take specially when it drydown into something pleasing & skin close. very nice.
