This gem really smells like a bar of soap from yesteryear. Clean, muscular, sophisticated, gentlemenly and non-offensive. The ones you're still are able to find sometimes at some of the high end hotels and which make you wondering; if there is a simular perfume out there. You can also compare it to some of the old school shaving creams barbers use(d). Longevity (on my skin) is excelent with a 12h+ staying power. For the people who only want heavy projectors: stay away from this one. It is a skin scent. Also for the youngsters: this might not be your thing.

I am reviewing this scent off the intensely scented shaving cream, which I initially bought for myself, but realize now that I should have bought it for my father (or grandfather) instead. A retro, almost antique smelling fougere, a clean herbal, woodsy, soapy creation with bright green lemony top notes. For those interested in the shaving cream, it is stellar, arguably the best one on the market offering protection and cushioning for days (it also comes in lime, cedar, and lavender). As a scent it is better suited for the 50+ crowd, if you enjoy Brut or other old school barbershop scents, this is for you. Unfortunately I cannot comment about performance for obvious reasons.

Lavender, tarragon, coumarin, vetiver and patchouli. Gorgeous fougere with highly aromatic yet smooth body. Sweet, herbal and floral with a grainy hay-like note. Gets soapier with time but never loses what's so likeable with it. Great longevity without being loud. So good!

This sounds good. Does it have the dirty dry down of Paco Rabanne PH, or does it stay clean? Does it avoid the typical oakmoss in the drydown? (hope so)

I will begin gatekeeping this amazing fragrance in 3... 2... 1. (face falls flat) Boring. Smells like sauvage
