Romance de Provence

Beautiful. I love collecting fragrances with the LVEB/Flowerbomb DNA and this one is the closest I've found to the OG LVEB. I found it at SDM for $19.99 so I'm grateful I won't need to purchase LVEB now. The opening is very strong and scared me at first because the patchouli was very overpowering and I thought it'd dominate the scent. Luckily, as it dries down it becomes much softer and it smells so much better. I love the caramel/vanilla/patchouli dry down and prefer it to the praline/patchouli/vanilla drydown in LVEB. 1-2 sprays for spring/summer and 3-4 for fall/winter. If you don't like sweetchouli/fruitichouli scents, please stay away from this one because patchouli is absolutely present. The patchouli doesn't smell earthy, grassy or dirty but it is very sweet and grounds the fragrance with a sweet-spicy sexiness.

This is fabulous. It smells warm and cozy. I found my 1 ounce bottle on sale at TJ Maxx for $10. The plain silver packaging with blue letters doesn't reveal how awesome this smells or how beautiful the inside bottle is. If I come across this again for a good price I may just buy a back-up bottle. It's that good!

I DON’T like La Vie Est Belle, and am not usually a fan of gourmande/vanilla/caramel scents (I usually go for citrusy florals) but I LOVE this one!! It’s balanced just right for me and makes me feel yummy.

This smells just like La Vie Est Belle. Not really the same lasting power or sillage but definitely a good affordable alternative!

It smells typical, but good. A budget friendly substitute for Flowerbomb and La Vie est Belle...BUT...the atomizer is terrible.

Smells like something I already have but I do love it

I like La vie est belle and Flowerbomb, and I find this similar but lighter and a soft background note in there reminds me of True Religion Love Hope Denim. One spray is enough, as this scent's presence is soft, but confident. It doesn't need to dominate the room to be known. It has good lasting power. I can see myself using this for days when I don't want to project, and just have a nice warm sweet trail of scent. I would say this is a safe blind buy IF you like anything like La Vie Est Belle, Flowerbomb, basically sweet gourmands with patchouli. I've never tried this Catherine Maladrino brand before except for some leggings from Costco, and those were good. Overall I'm glad I took a chance on this blind buy.

This is a lovely fruity-floral. I'm not sure why the rating is so low. It's a mainstream sweet scent, maybe chasing after LVEB a bit. It is very sweet and will appeal to anyone that appreciates that genre. I love a good sweet scent so for me its a winner. I got it at Shoppers for $20 and for that price I think it's fabulous. Great performance, it will last for hours and has very good sillage. The bottle is stunning. I love the ombre effect. Due to that sweetness I would say this is more a winter fragrance. It could get a bit too overwhelming in the summer heat.

This was a blind purchase for me. When I first sprayed it, I thought I had spritzed my La Vie Est Belle by mistake. They smell almost identical to me. This one isn't as strong but the longevity is pretty good. I had thought about returning it, but since it's lighter, it might be my "summer La Vie Est Belle". Sillage on me was moderate and longevity was about 7 hours, so not too bad. For those who don't like the patchouli in LVEB, this would be a good replacement.

This one is showing up in discount stores already. If you love perfumes like La Vie Est Belle, grab this when you see it on sale. It does not disappoint in terms of projection and longevity. More than 12 hours on my skin, it lasted until I washed it off and lasts for days on a scarf. It is very sweet and the vanilla caramel sweetness amps up to the max on my skin in the drydown. It's a bit too much for me but I'm still impressed with the performance.

I own LVEB and this smells EXACTLY like it. I sprayed it and found myself very confused because I thought I had sprayed the other on accident. It's lovely and sweet, really smells nothing like provincial France but I'll forgive it for that. Has nice longevity & sillage. Great budget friendly alternative if you can find it.

Hmm...I don’t know about this one. On me, it’s sort of got this cloying exotic floral thing going on, and I don’t feel like it matches my vibe. I feel like when people say they hate perfume, this is kind of what they’re talking about. Not for me. Edit 3/15: Giving this another try, and something is different today. I'm still not wild about the patchouli (I'm relatively new to perfumes, so take that with a grain of salt), but I'm getting a lot more caramel today. I'll continue trying it.

I had a sample of this and LOVED the smell of it but when I bought a bottle it seems like a totally different scent. After sitting for a long while / wearing out some it smells nice but straight off the bat it smells very peppery to me.

This reminds me a LOT of English Laundry #7, it has that same orange cream saver vibe to it mixed with pear and a base of patchouli (in EL #7 they use "masculine musk" but it has the same effect as the patchouli-currant blend). EL#7 turns more vanilla at the dry down while this one maintains a bit more fruitiness and patchouli, but they are very similar at first. It's too gourmand for my taste but I can see it being very popular with the tween to twenties crowd. My daughter likes it.

Nothing offensive, but also nothing special here. Also, it smells nothing like Provence which always smells, at least faintly, of the region's famed LAVENDER fields. If a fragrance is called Provence, then lavender should be a component. Sweet, vanilla, patchouli...the hallmark of perfumes created in 2016.

I don't understand this perfume. I like all the notes. But, put together, they're awful. This is super floral forward. Though it is sweet, from the notes I would have expected a creamier, fruitier fragrance. I was hoping for something more put together. This just feels like a thrown together mess.

A sweet mass market smelling thing. A mashup of patchouli sugar and fruit, does smell like Flowerbomb and La Vie est Belle except with a touch more pear. Strong sillage, strong longevity. Gives me a headache. Dislike.

It's okay very strong intense patchouli and florals.

I got a sample of this off of ebay, dabbed some on my wrist on my way out for the night and instantly regretted it. I am usually a fruity floral type of gal and love flowerbomb, haven’t smelled LVEB but i assume that’s my great aunts signature scent that this smells identical to. I love my great aunt, but i’m not too eager to smell just like her, no offense Aunt Dot, ya smell delicious just a bit too sweet for my persona. On me the black current definitely takes on a cat pee scent and i’m just not diggin the sugared cat urine ensemble that this gives me. Unfortunately for the dislikers, this has amazing lasting power and will stay on your skin even through a thorough scrubbing

I got a sample and fell in love with that, it was such a neat little creation, bubbly pear and an almost medicinal herbal pairing. It was such a good match for me I bought a rollerball immediately. Actually, I bought a set of Catherine Malandrino scents, and when I opened this one suddenly the vanilla/caramel showed up. I still get a whiff of the original reasons I bought this on sniffing the rollerball, but the vanilla/caramel/patchouli arrive seconds later and, to their credit, managed to hang around on me for several hours. I was still catching hints of it after an eight-hour work day, and like a lot of vanilla scents, heat wakes it back up. Very linear dry-down on my skin, no unexpected twists. So, interesting start, then a steady-freddy caramel/patchouli that will last out the workday.

When I first sprayed it, it was light and pleasant. But then, after the dry down, I would have sworn I had sprayed La Vie Est Belle on my wrist. Unfortunately, that lingering and long-lasting Patchouli/Caramel smell is, on me at least, annoying and uncomfortable. I have a half-used bottle of La Vie that will unlikely ever be finished, unless I can find something to layer it with that will eliminate that odor. At least I only purchased a sample of Romance de Provence, and not a full bottle this time, as I did with La Vie Est Belle.

I rarely wear this perfume but then I smell it and think, I need to wear this! Its smells good. Its a sweet perfume, really mass appealing. I honestly think most people would like it. It does have a stronger dose of patchouli. I'm not a patchouli fan so that makes me stray away sometimes. I hear it smells like La vive est Belle but I never smelled that perfume before. This is a good scent though. Edit: I got a sample of La Vive Est Belle and I smells pretty much like this. So if you want a cheaper version of that buy this.

You guys, this is a good cheap dupe for La Vie est Belle by Lancome..first sniff is alcohol so it needs to sit for a minute, then you will notice the similarities. Of course the quality and the lasting power isn't there in comparison to lVEB. that said, it is decent for the price especially if you get it at 20-30$ range.

I sprayed this on and immediately thought "I don't like this." I also don't like LVEB, and they smell exactly alike. This has good longevity-- it's tough for me to scrub off. If you're looking for a cheaper dupe of LVEB, this is the one! I can see why people like LVEB, but it's too much for me, as is this one.

I wanted to like this one a lot more than I do. It is VERY sweet, just short of sickly. Nice at first sniff but hard to wear for extended periods. A bargain for the price if you want La Vie Est Belle, but with more caramel and vanilla.
