Contagious Gold

A deep strong scent. Very different from anything I own. It's beauty is in It's rawness. Has some rough edges which give it character. Definitely buy a sample first. It wasn't love at first sniff for me. Took over a year for me to appreciate the scent and everytime I've worn it, I've received compliments. I'm always told I smell wealthy wearing this scent. Not an everyday scent imo unless you can pull this off. Lasts about 2-3 hrs on my skin before becoming a skin scent and completely disappearing. I wish it lasted longer though. Spray too much, and it can quickly overwhelm you.

Contagious is an oud fragrance of the woody variety right away you get the strong, dry woods paired with oakmoss and some sandalwood that smells like Arak wood or what is called "miswak" in Arabic which gives it a medicinal tonality there is also a very slight animalic touches that fade pretty quickly in the opening. After about 20 minutes added to the woodsy oud and oakmoss mix comes this nice smooth powderiness which tames the harsh oud a little and from there the fragrance is quite linear which I don't mind cause it smells nice. You can tell that Contagious is well made with good quality materials and it's roughly blended which I presume might be on purpose because it works with whole feel of harsh woods / oakmoss combo also it does preform excellently in both projection and longevity. My only issue with Contagious which prevents me from buying a full bottle is the lack of imagination that comes with it. If you love and are used to smelling ouds this offers nothing new I've tried countless oud fragrances that smell similar to Contagious granted I live in the middle east and I'm very much exposed to a sea of different ouds but I wanted there to be a surprise with Contagious and there was none for me despite it being well made it doesn't set itself apart in anyway in my opinion.

I've had an opportunity to sample this juice. It's incredibly woody and most definitely fall into a unisex category. The price, however, is a little bit of a joke: this fragrance is neither extraordinary nor unforgettable. It's too mediocre to me, it has soft sillage and weak lasting power. I expected an oudy territory marker and ended up rather disappointed. Stash by SJP is a far better choice for woody scent lovers out there: it possesses much better projection and longevity. Contagious, unfortunately, is a thumbs down.
