Invisible Monster

For years I've been looking for a scent that can chase away the winter blues. Living in NYC one can become overwhelmed and stifled beneath the cold dark gray skies. By February, the city becomes engulfed in car exhaust, bitter cold air,concrete and steel - and we're completely devoid of any sense of nature. There's an absence of any sense of growth. Lush green grass, and trees that burst with the fullness of life, are dormant and emaciated during their winter hibernation. It's during this time that I long to be enveloped in the richness of nature - and Invisible Monster is just the cure I was looking for. Christopher Brosious has created a masterpiece with Invisible Monster. This is probably the greenest and most natural scent that I have ever smelled. The fragrance opens with a burst of lemony citrus and is quickly followed by it's main accords of damp soil and forest greens. While the fragrance is designed to capture the designers childhood memories of playing along the riverbanks in the forest of the Susquehanna River - there's still a cleanness to this fragrance that reminds me a bit more of a well cared for greenhouse. The fragrance lacks the true earthiness of decay and compost - unlike Christopher's very autumn-like creation "Wild Hunt". The floral notes of the rare Yo Ran Orchid, are deep in the background; its the inclusion of this flower - mixed with the heavier notes of vetiver and oakmoss, that make this scent actually border on being a perfume or a cologne as opposed to a "personal scent" (which is what Mr. Brosious usually strives for). Overall this scent is 100% masculine. I can't imagine a woman trying to pull this one off unless she's willing to embrace her rough and tumble tomboy phase of her innocent childhood past. As clean and wonderfully mastered as this scent is - I still have given it my own playful name ... "Frog Pond". This scent creates a fantasy image in my mind of a beautiful pond surrounded by rich black soil, ferns and Lilly pads with large magical toads croaking on top of them. A clean version of the dirty woods without the typical "wood" elements. This is the GREEN and NATURAL scent that I have been in search of for so very long. Kudos to you Mr. Brosious - and THANK YOU.

I was very excited to try this as I received a sample from Twisted Lily. On my skin It smelled of raw, dank, wet earth and musty leaves. I couldn’t bear it after 20 minutes or so passed by. I smelled like I rolled in dirt - had to wash it off ASAP. Not something I could wear to work or really anywhere, -sad to say, definitely not a fan of this.

L'odeur de la terre était très prononcé et immédiat, mais bientôt il est réduit à flores avant qu'il ne disparaisse complètement. La longévité est un problème.
