Wild Pansy

At long last, I'm sampling my namesake fragrance! The first few seconds are a little strange- I swear I smell mustard greens... but then, the ethereal fresh violet note siddles by... and leaves all too quickly, unfortunately, within 2-3 hours, leaving behind a soft soapy skin scent-

Smells a a big freshly blended kale smoothie. I will pass . please try before you buy. Makes me feel mildly queasy in my belly.

None of my usual Spring violets were doing it for me this year, so after briefly sampling from vials purchased at the usual decant stores, I kind of impulsively bought a full bottle of Wild Pansy. In the samples, both oil and water based, there was an accord that bothered me a little. But I loved the green, the slightly earthy/spicy element, and the violet was wonderful. The bothersome bit was very low in the mix. Unfortunately, in the full bottle of the oil based scent I bought, that bothersome bit is full-throttle after the top notes fade. It is a wonderful, original scent, very well done, but unfortunately that accord and I do not get along. Like all oils Wild Pansy wears close to the skin, but something (lavender?) gives it a little more lift than usual-- I can smell it on my wrists without trying for the 3 to 4 hours it lasts. If you are looking for a fresh green violet, definitely try this. It leans to the traditionally feminine but only because it is floral. I can see a man pulling this off. Edit: I am sampling Bulgari Thé Bleu, and it remarkably similar to Wild Pansy. i have never experienced two perfumes from two different companies that smell so similar.

I love when I find a scent that hits your memory viscerally and this immediately brought up my grandparents' farm - clover and hay. They grew only vegetables and kept bees... it was idyllic and I haven't found anything that smells like until this scent. I smelled dirt and hay and grass, followed by wildflowers. It didn't last as long as I always hope they will, but this is so fresh and prairie-meadow. I highly recommend it!

wild pansy is a sweet, gentle perfume that i found quite enjoyable. the opening notes share something in common with Demeter 'firefly' in that there is a wet-stone-after-a-storm scent to it...but in the case of wild pansy it is not overpowering but fleeting and soft. nice fragrance....i am intrigued!

I loved it so much when I put it on - wet, green, real flowers in the rain on damp mossy earth. But then it disappeared ... I'm sad now.
