GUN GIRL

opens with a peppery floral, almost patchoulli but more floral. it starts to brighten with citrus florals, light and airy with a touch of fresh linens. the leather and vanilla basenotes arent very strong, but combine really well with the top and middle notes to give a sort of anchor for the brighter notes, creating a more earthy and grounded scent to what would have otherwise been more citrus forward and bright fragrance. Its clean in a musky way, almost earthy and spicy but in a very feminine bright way. I don't get any metallic notes, though it is very sharp in its opening, it simmers down to an earthen freshness thats almost salty in its pointedness. Evokes the image of a fresh herb and fruit garden after spring rain, being looked out over from a bay window in a library- its a feminine take on earthen woodsy scents that is very unisex. The rhubarb is a very nice subtle touch that brings the citrus/bergamot together with the patchoulli and leather that gives a dampened nature smell in the brightest way. Very wearable, safe blind buy. Not nearly as experimental as i was hoping for, but very yummy and palatable for wearing in public.

Explosive! My boyfriend doesn’t like this one sadly (that’s kind of a mischaracterization — he says he does like the smell but that there’s something about it that “hurts” him a little bit) so I won’t be springing for a full bottle, but color me leathery, gunmetal cool in this one-of-a-kind fragrance that reeks of espionage, shooting ranges, and motorcycles. It’s industrial and animalic and sweetly coy all the same. Its vegetal qualities keep it from being totally synthetic-smelling and help its femme-leaning unisex bravado, especially the cassis and rhubarb. I don’t think I pull it off with my personality, which is better suited to hyper-intellectual skin scents, but damn, this is a SYMPHONY of scent and I absolutely want more!
