Celine

This is such a clean and warm fragrance. It is not too "in your face": it is pretty sexy, alluring and subtle.

Wow for me this fragrance 10/10

When it was launched, I used to like it a lot. CÉLINE pour Homme is a perfume that can be soft while engaging. Woody, slightly spicy. You can smell the hazelnut blended with nutmeg and geranium, calming spicy fusion. Unfortunately what brings me here is the new version of this scent that I used to use and enjoy. Well, it was discontinued for a while and now,no more that suddenly, LVMH relaunches it as if nothing had happened. The scent, as I might expect, is no longer the same as the old one. Even the bottle. The former consisted of a plate (with the letters of the label) in metal, the molten glass. Now, what's left is a stained glass with metallic silver ink. The smell became less dense, more cologne, and it's almost unbearable. It looks like a fusion of detergent powder with some mouthwash (with oriental flavor). I might even feel something approaching the summer version of the Carolina Herrera 212 Pop or H20. Anyway, I quite liked the old CÉLINE (2001) -created at the stage MICHAEL KORS (when it was still the creative director of French fashion house). This version launched right now it's not even close of the old one. I feel sad with this changes, when market outweighs the quality. Annick Menardo does tend toward a kind of style, in my head at least, although I suspect she probably has an eclectic back catalogue like many perfumers but like I said this perfume fits that residual image I have of her work. I personally love this late 90's early noughties aesthetic. Very hazy, smooth spiced musk perfumes especially for men, it was a new time of unisex,after the aquatic wave had crashed (excuse the pun) and folks were in gucci rush, Envy and DG by and Donna Karen etc.... sandalwoodish, musks with elegant spicing or lavender over the top. Timeless, yet of this period. This Celine is much in that vain although no where near as iconic or standout but for the price I paid (£14) and in hindsight now that Celine is one of these trendy designer brands with an exclusive perfume line on par with Chanel, Dior etc... then this was a really cool buy. I love the nutmeg and nutty notes in this. I like this kind of perfumery personally but is it boring and uneventful? Yes. Will owning this really enrich your collection? No. I love having vast reserves of perfumes I can put on and feel very little emotion about, while smelling good and not over or under stimulated. This fits the brief.

Not bad perfumes but also nothing special. I feel nuts and wood the most with a dose of something sweet, but it's no fruity but more floral sweetness. Longevity and sillage are average.

Bought the edp recently after having the edt.Personally I think the edt was better and longer lasting but still a pleasant office fragrance with no sweetness.. out of 10 ....5.

I trust Annick Menardo's work because I have FOUR of her scents that are all high quality juices that can each be had for an inexpensive price: Azzaro Visit, Charriol Royal White, Body Kouros and Bvlgari Black. Unfortunately the act of me blind buying this scent has ended the streak of me getting Menardo fragrances that I'm proud of. This is a harsh/alcohol/synthetic mess upon initial spray and it honestly feels like it stays that way for 10+ minutes. It makes my nose burn when I smell it up close and from a distance I can't clearly pick out any of the notes. After some time, maybe 30min to 1 hour, you pick up a bit of hazelnut but it's nowhere near the quality of Valentino Uomo. Skip this and get the Valentino scent...or get Armaf's Futura La Homme if you want a cheap alternative. Youtube Channel: The Scentrovert

My search for Joop Rococo continues, I'd read that this is considered similar by a few very good reviewers, to be honest, I remember Rococo being a bit more impressive then this. This has a very nice, warm nutty opening, the citrus is very mild, the base, I can only describe as toasted nuts, it's pleasant, it just doesn't do much for me. Two hours on the skin, but that may be due to deterioration in the fragrance.

I bought it for my husband about 2 years ago, on sale for under 10 quid- still sits on the bathroom shelf- there's no way i can smell ANYTHING- just bland hint of NOTHING really;-) do you think it's gone bad????

There was very amusing story with this aroma. I have bought it absolutely casually during sales. The seller has forced me as addition to the basic purchase. It was probably 2005. This fragrance has not seemed to me as valuable. On the contrary, aroma very ordinary and brand was unknown. I used this perfume on the work and it was madly pleasant to girls. They behaved as a cat with a valerian! Really, the shock for me. I did not trust at first. I was sure that it is simple compliments. I was trying to use other aromas. But ladies demanded only this one and were ready to sniff and lick me. Really! Half a year I was the most popular guy in our office. Unfortunately, cologne has ended and it is impossible to buy. But I am grateful to this "Celine by Celine" as the man:)) not as the user, who like it.

Purchased the EDP sight unseen. Was immediately drawn to the packaging. Was not too familiar with Celine at the time. Was pleasantly surprised by the unusual fragrance. The 50ml spray lasted a few years, and when that was gone I found an EDT online. It is woodsy without being too woody, and is floral without being feminine. Although this could easily be used by women, much like Madame Mori's HM. It opens so brightly with just a hint of calone. I personally dislike an overuse of "water" or "marine" in a cologne, but this is just the right amount. To paraphrase an old English teacher of mine: like a miniskirt, it should be short enough to make it interesting but long enough to cover the subject.

Just got a bottle of Celine for Men. At the first sniff it reminded me of something very familiar. After a bit of research in my memory, I remembered: Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin. Even if the opening notes are not identical, the DNA is the same. Maybe because both were created by Annick Menardo. So, if you are searching for something to replace Celine (in the original formulation) you should try Au Masculin.

Just got a sample of this. It's like a light version of Rococo by Joop - but this is more complex and more subtle. Leaves a light orangey smell on your skin after a woody/hazel start and an Oxygene (Lanvin) type middle phase. It's good, - just wish it was a bit stronger

The top notes dominate throughout here giving off a lovely zesty, woody and spicy aroma. However longevity is unfortunately poor lasting only between 3 and 4 hours. Such a shame as it really is a great smelling fragrance which is also inexpensive to buy.

Although there's almost no note in common between Celine Pour Homme and Joop! Rococo, they are very similar. Great wood spicy fragrances that complement each other, somehow.

I agree with Kraxa. I bought it for my teenage son on- line, untested, because of good rewievs here... But really: Nothing.Almost.Disappointment.

A fresh citrus and woody scent that seems to smell like a newly opened upscale boutique to me. I love it!

very spicy and nutty. First sprayer is very synthetic.
