Celine Dion

The opening of Celine Dion to me smells so close to Hilary Duff With Love - must be the woods. With Love had cocobolo (fantasy note inspired by the bright reddish-brown decorative Dalbergia retusa wood) and here, we have white/blond woods. Celine Dion has a woody, smoky opening that moves into a soft rose and creamy sweet tiare flower. Ladylike, stays close to the skin after the first 5-10 minute burst. In no way does this bring "fruity floral" to mind. On me it is a woody floral musk. I don't detect any berries, as shown in the notes pyramid but there is a freshness which might be from lily and some kind of citrus. It is summer here, so that may affect how it plays on the skin. I would be interested to see if in colder weather more/other fruit comes forward. It's nice, but I'm not sure if I'd repurchase it once I go through my partial .5 oz. If you find you like the opening of Celine Dion, hunt down a .5 oz of With Love on ebay. With Love was a more unique woody scent with spices rather than florals. UPDATE: I've found myself respraying throughout the day because although Celine Dion fades sooner than I would like, as it fades I'm getting additional floral and sweet notes with a soapy musk. I'm not generally a woods fan but I'm really enjoying this overall scent profile more and more. It's ultimately more rewarding than With Love due to the sweetness and light in the dry down. Celine Dion is more complex than I first thought.

Several years ago, (probably 2005?) my husband brought me home a sample vial of this perfume. He smelled it in the store, thought it was nice, and hoped I would like it. I thought it smelled so "grown up", without smelling too mature for my age. At the time, I think I only owned body sprays, because I used up my small bottles of perfume. I wanted a bottle so badly, but it was quite expensive at the time, since it was so new. I used my sample only on very special occasions, and in fact I still have a small bit left to this day. I happened upon this perfume in Ross the other day, $9.99 for a 1.7 oz bottle. I had forgotten all about how much I liked this perfume, until I saw it there on the shelf. I bought it that day, and when I got home, I smelled it, and it evoked so many great memories. It's not a fancy, or special perfume by any means, but it is special to me. I love how easy it is to wear, and how "shower fresh" it smells. This is a very safe perfume, that shouldn't offend anyone's nose, and could be worn by anyone age 16+. Now that I know it is so cheap, I will always have a bottle on hand. :)

I really like this fragrance. It's very simple and chic, not teenage, not girly but rather timeless in it's classy nature. It is a celebrity scent that has a soft, elegant, and a bit mature character and I can't imagine this to become old-style or irritating. I like to wear it in the hottest summer and in winter, too, thus, I assume it as a great signature scent for everyday. I don't smell anything chemical or cheap and the lasting power is just fine for the price and for the fume being an edt. Five stars out of five.

Light, soft, feminine, delicate, and warm are the words to describe Celine Dion. It's one of a few celebrity fragrances that doesn't screem a big name, however it does make people around enjoy your presence for a reason they cannot explain. I discovered Celine Dion while being in love with Elizabeth Arden's 5th Avenue. Celine Dion was lighter and a bit woodier than 5th Avenue, yet close enough to replace it. I must admit, Celine Dion wasn't the love of my life but it certainly one that I would never forget.

I had it and at the beginning I didn't appreciate it due to its soft sillage but since then I realized that this fragrance is very close to skin and makes an atmosphere around you. It is not for seducing. It makes you confident, safe, considerate and a pleasant individual. A competent, still very classical woman in a content state of mind. Woody peach for me but it is not fruity at all.

Too this day this is the fragrance that meshed the best with my body chemistry. Did not smell at all on me, as what it smelled like in the bottle. Very fresh and light and floral with just a teensy hint of sweetness. Would not necessarily recommend for everyone though.

The first time I smelled this fragrance is was either 9 or 10 and it was a body wash my mom gave me. I've loved it ever since. I just bought a 100ml bottle of this a few days ago and I love it so much!

don't know y u say her perfumes r cheap in taste ? 4 me celine dion perfumes r great and i use them daily especially chic <3 it's an amaazin' one u should give it a try = )

This is my favorite perfume, it lasts long, and the smell is refreshing all day long, there is nothing bad to say here!

Quick proper review: I need to re-review because I have not worn Celine Dion in ages and I have just received my new bottle from ebay and wore the perfume yesterday. I used a proper amount of perfume, about 15 sprays, to cover my neck, cleavage, wrists and shoulders. The opening was quite sharp and fresh with a tiny hint of a tropical fruit note (it says peach but I am not smelling any peach). When it dried down, the perfume almost smelled like champagne without the sparkle but with a powdery note. I would describe those notes as clean, quite sophisticated and modern. I did not note musk, amber or sandalwood in the base, but the champagne note stayed for about 3 hours. I noticed that the fragrance was completely gone from my wrists within an hour but I could smell the scent making its way to my nose from my cleavage all day long so I guess it must have to do with temperature. The scent is surely only hardly noticeable by someone who is not really near you because it stays very close to the skin but the staying power on my cleavage and neck is awesome! My husband could smell the scent on me in the late evening hours, about 13 hours after applying it. EDIT 19 OCT 2010: I know what that odd dusty smell that some people seem to detect is. I noticed that strange hint as well but only now I can describe it: CUSTARD. It is custard.

I just received this in the mail earlier today. I've never tried it before and just saw the decent reviews and cheap ($9) price on Amazon, so I thought I'd give it a go. I think this smells mature, (though not to be confused with "old lady" perfume) and classy. In a million years though, I would never confuse this with a high-end scent. It just doesn't have that complexity, but going in, I honestly didn't expect it to. Having said all that though, it's still a very solid scent I think. The wood notes are there and do not drown out everything else. I don't pick up a ton of rose thankfully, but there are other soft, powdery, white florals to be appreciated! The longevity on this doesn't seem terribly long. I sprayed it this morning and probably about 4 hours or so later, I could barely detect it. This is also not a scent that will precede you by a mile before you walk into a room. I think it sits close enough to the skin so that it's not obnoxious and yet is strong enough to tell you're wearing it. I think this would be an excellent choice for use in an office or as a gift for someone's mom. I honestly can't see a teen making this their first choice in perfumes, but hey... you never know! Overall, I'm very happy with my choice. I think it's a decent scent that smells very pleasant!

I bought it for my sister birthday, unlike me, she likes ultra feminine, very delicate and quiet perfumes, she is an artist herself and even in her paintings, she is always very delicate, soft and feminine. Celin Dion is a soft perfume,very feminine, a little powdery and not loud at all, but it is longlasting, I can still smell it on my skin after a shower. It smells young but classy. It is cheap but does not smell cheap. It is an ideal choice for office or daily wear when you want to smell good but not to attract any attention.I personally enjoy it though it is not my cup of tea :)

This was the first perfume that I got as a gift as a teenager that was mature -- mother trying to get me out of all the sugary sweet body sprays. Its a nice soft smell that I still gravitate towards every now and then. However, it does not last very long and find I have to touchup after a couple of hours. With the heat where I live at I only wear when I will be indoors, as the sweat just washes it away. It tends to be what I wear to Church when I go as its not too strong for the little old ladies around me, haha! Because of this I don't use it as much, but still like it.

I blind buy bought this at a discount store at an insanely cheap price( under $4) . And Im so glad I did.. Its it a very woody classy perfume. I get a hint of florals, and cranberries. I will whole heartedly agree with every review that says it smells like Dr.Pepper soda ( or Coca cola)! but its kinda spicy which I like and is sexy. I do get a smokey rose scent too.. I have gotten compliments . I prefer this more fall/winter time..

I like this-sometimes you just want a nice,soft floral to wear while hanging around in your jeans and a tee:this is that scent.Uncomplicated but quite lovely. I can't really pick out the individual notes and the sillage is quite low on me but that's ok as I can get migraines pretty easily. Actually the more I wear it I find peach to be the dominant note-in fact it reminds me of a watered down Tommy Hilfiger Dreaming.

I think it is a vary nice surprise , i have already reviewed 2 others of her scents (Sensational and Simply Chic) which were exremly dull and generic to me , but this one is much better . It is yet quite discreet , but also sophisticated at the same time and feminine . It doesn't last long enough though , maybe if sprayed generously it will ... The heart notes make me think of "Bohême" from "Eau Jeune" a bit.

Very woody with only a subtle hint of floral. This is very mild and a light scent, wears very close to skin, so you have to be up close to smell this. Not bad, not great. This seems too subtle of a scent to be associated with the grandiose persona of Ms. Dion. This seems to be a love it or hate it scent according to these reviews. It must be another one where skin chemistry plays a big role.

I agree with many reviewers here and almost echo comments of childofvenus and Kyi - very clean, flowery fresh and mild enough for an office scent. Can't comment on staying power yet but it is an EDT and not EDP so could mean less staying power. I was looking for a fall scent. I mostly wear Marc Jacobs and MK Very Hollywood for Summertime so this is a good transition.

My mother used to wear "Celine Dion", perhaps that's why it makes me think of a warm, delicate presence(because of the peach), also like the one of a woman with life experience. This fragrance has a seductive side as well, due to jasmine and red berries notes. I don't know about you, but I really like this fragrance, it seems quite unique to me.

I have always considered this one of my more sophisticated scents. More mature but not in an old lady way...just in the sense that this perfume isn't wild at all...its light and simple...the type of scent I would wear to a job interview or maybe around family. This is the scent I wear when my wild side needs to be contained.

I find this is another clean, modern classic smell and I am surprised that nobody likes it. Fresh, a bit floral and a bit fruity. Perfect for office wear. The staying power is not really great but this frag can be bought for so little money on ebay that I do not mind topping up during the day.

This is not my idea of a fragrance.None of the notes smell good or else blended they stink.I really expected a LITTLE bit more.Oh well,Ill give it to my daughter i law,(she wears anything)and thinks im obsessed with fragrance.i do too a little,but I still love it.

Surprisingly pleasant floral amber scent on my skin. More complex an less chemical smelling than I expected from a cheap Goodwill buy. Side note: bottle has a great atomizer. Would be good to re-use the container when you run out.

Oh god,wonderful perfume.it's very sofisticated,fresh,clean,soft and classy perfume but,unfortunately this makes me brethless and nervous because I've been wearing it in unhappy,stressful times.

Classy adult scent. A guy I worked with asked me what I was wearing, so he could buy it for his girlfriend. I use to wear it a lot, but it's still a keeper.

Clean, sophisticated, easy-going; that's how I would describe this fragrance. Excellent for office and everyday wear as it is quite a gentle scent.

Just bought a bottle of Coty Whisper Original. They smell the same to me.

I have an old 15 ml shimmer EDT that I received as a gift with two others. Very minimalistic, both the bottle and scent. The top notes haven’t aged well as they smell now like a fruity nail polish remover. But that soon dissipates leaving a subdued but elegant abstract floral accord. The performance is less than mediocre. Nothing iconic or memorable as Celine Dion’s voice and talent.

Powder and dried jasmine. A light floral musk. Nice but not my style. Later it turned into sharp soap and bug spray.

Bland florals. Sweet, powdery, clean, but no personality. It is definitely a feminine scent. I mostly get rose, violet, and just a touch of sandalwood on the dry down. A very old fashioned scent. The perfect gift for the 80+ woman in your life! I own a bottle, and have actually been known to use it as a mixing scent, as it eases a few of the spicy unisex scents I like into a more feminine space. If you have something that's a little too green or too brassy for your taste, try adding a touch of CD to it. Otherwise, no.

This perfume and my chemistry just do not play nice together. Whether I spray one spray or 20 sprays, I can smell absolutely nothing. I have never had this happen with a fragrance before. I have been trying it over and over, thinking perhaps my local climate is somehow masking or changing the scent. I have found nothing so far that helped At this point, after trying so many times, I'm putting this one away. I'll update my review if I finally get to sel this fragrance when I try it during a different season.

I wanted to like this...especially because someone just suggested it has a "smokey rose" scent I've been longing for. Oh, no. I bought a very inexpensive bottle this evening. Put it on one little spot on my upper arm...and oh! All I really get is chemicals and a disturbing "bug spray" smell...I can't think of anything else. Not only that, but the place where I sprayed it on is burning just a bit and getting slightly itchy. This evening I have learned the definition of the word "scrubber." Ugh.

Yeah I know this I used to work at dillard for fragrance I met with coty vendors I'm not stupid but the bottles are cheap it is the cheaper line of coty because you have coty and than you have coty prestige It even says it on the bottom of the boxes like euphoria it has coty prestige on celines it just has coty they never made it into higher end stores such as dillards/macy's they go straight to walmart they bottles are cheaper too. I know this because it was my job to know.

wore this for the first time to work last night. I really don't like this one.It has this weird,almost plastic type smell to it.Kinda like fake flowers from the dollar store that someone sprayed with a cheap body spray to make them smell "real". Longevity and sillage are non-existant,smells just cheap and nasty,will be finding the 2 small bottle I got for Christmas a new home.

along with vicoria and david faith hill tim mcgraw they never made it into our stores, kate moss did, gwen stefani, jlo,sarah jessica parker did but no celine dion didnt, halle didnt because they are ment to be targeted to wal mart/ kmart/ wal greens Im just going by what they tought me at my job

A previous review said they smelled plastic. That is the one discernible "note" I got. Tested it on the back of my hand with the other CD I got in the same set, on the opposite hand. I would not keep this one around for the utility purposes of the other. This is just gross.

A very mature and deep fragrance. It's nice and warm, but there's something about it that smells so synthetic. It gets me a headache from smelling it for too long. I don't really oppose this fragrance but to be honest I don't find it special or unique.

This is horrific. I am scrubbing and pitching my bottle. Ugh. It isn't even oakmoss. It's this bitter horrible medicinal herbal cooking spice like an Indian grocery smell of fried food, grease and spices. I hate it.

my now ex bought tis for me. i never liked it but was in denial as to just how bad it was until we broke up. it has a very unappealing chemical scent. i received many, mostly negative comments on this scent.

While I don't find the scent to be anything too spectacular, I found it pleasant. Unfortunately, it disappears almost as soon as you put it on. Not worth the money, no matter how little you spend on it.

This one smelled awful on me. Synthetic, mature (but not in a good way), and heavy. Someone else said they smelled plastic--I did, too. Plastic mixed with musky flowers.

I liked the scent, but only lasted about 2 hrs. Was very soft and powdery. Very light sillage. I gave to my teen daughters. Happy smelling! :)

the fruity element is a bit pungent, although covered in a rather sweet and pleasant veil of fragrance...

I have a .15 FL oz bottle of this. Smells cheap and comparable to rubbing alcohol. Yuck

I was at a business dinner and the client complimented this woman at the table on her perfume. I asked her in private what it was since I could not smell anything on her at all. She told me it was celine dion. Her first perfume. So, as luck would have it I saw this scent on a clearance shelf at a drugstore. It was $2.49. At that price I could not resist buying. It was a tiny bottle in this pretty box that had Celine's name on it. I sprayed it on and was struck with a very clean fresh florally scent with fruit. I definately smell the mimosa and the apricot. They call it a gilded apricot in the notes. its bot sugared up. it smells natural like you have your nose on a piece of the fruit inhaling. it does smell good. Kinda like a shower scent. Soap, shampoo, conditioner ....but it had a certain air like quality and brightness to it. I do not know why but I think this scent shares the same kind of attitude as Christian Dior j'adore. The same kind of vibration.....also, a more womanly sense of Victoria's Secret bombshell. This is nice, clean, non offensive. Could be worn anywhere, anytime. This could be a perfect perfume for a woman who has a pared down style and doesn't want to smell like a perfume or a nurse or professional who comes into close contact with others but doesn't like the traditional non offensive scents. This is also perfect for a woman whose husband or boyfriend doesn't like perfume at all because its not going to be obvious. I also think a outdoorsy or athletic lady would be ok with the scent too. Makes me think of a natural, relaxed hands on person who is approachable. I think in that was this scent is a good reflection of celine. The price is excellent and I can see why some people really love this. I have not smelled tis on anyone at a cocktail party, etc. so I don't think it's overdone. If you are looking for a clean, versatile, feminine, non offensive pared down scent this may be the one for you. This perfume proves that you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy the little luxuries in life. I think this is not the one celine has created but I do imagine that this is one she likes because of the mimosa. I would definitely use this bottle up. I could see this one being in my collection as the low key natural scent along with sensuous nude by Estée Lauder. The other scents seem to dry down kind of masculine on me but these notes remain fresh and womanly. I am going to go get the other bottles on sale there. This is also a good gift choice as it is universals and very pretty. No one should hate this one unless they have only refined perfume selections. This basically smells like clean laundry on a field of flowers with the wind blowing in a golden sunshine.
