Each time, being tired from non-existing longevity of ephemeric niche fragrances, that seduce you with originality at first and hour later you discover that "it is all gone" - I just take anything from Sophia Grojsman, being confident that this fragrance will stay put on my skin for 12 hours and days later still will be on my clothes. Magic is amazing. I Am not fan of pear at all. So years ago when someone gifted me a mini of Magic I thought WOW, it is something totally out of this world, - happy, persistant, juicy, vibrant, so alive and unforgettable. Then I looked at the notes... and was very surprised to find that this beauty includes all notes I normally will not go for (apart of rose, amber and coriander, those I do love) So I kept an eye for a full bottle in EDP concentration and have found it at last. Two sprays last all day. It is like Sophia, yet it is very different from anything else on the market. It has a lot of character, has a story-telling vibe, it is not dated till today, it is actualy a niche by today standards, but long-lasting niche. The bottle design is superb, these cute stars look intricate on the glass, pleasure to hold in hands. Very special fruity-spicy chypre that always lifts my moods up.

Dabbed a little from a decant sample of Celine Magic EDT which was an extra from a generous perfumista friend.its opening phase is a bright and lovely fruity scent.I can really smell a delicious pear and clementine.but it soon gets a very 90s floral-fruity scent to it.like Chloe Narcis,Chanel Allure,Estee Lauder Intusion and Benetton Hot.I don't mean it smells similar to any of the mentioned ones,actually I like it much more than all four of them but I mean it has the same vibe,same sweet but not sugary,fruity yet sophisticated,sunny snd alluring vibe and I can really notice Grojsman's foot prints on it Other than fruits(which is like a combination of pear,mandarin and apricot),I can definitely detect ylangylang,amber,vanilla(though not listed) and sandalwood and there's a perfumey, slightly powdery and very pleasant floral accord.Magic is warm,pleasant,feminine and refined.to me it's a year rounder and not a real classic chypre(which is good yo me as I'm not into chypres).longevity and sillage must be great as it seems strong eventhough I have dabbed just a tiny drop of it.there's something very nostalgic about it as if a close and loved family member used to use this one or something very similar when I was a kid I'm not sure whether I need a bottle of it or not but for now I know that I like it.I believe Magic deserved to be among Grojsman's most popular creations not Tresor

This reminds me of Ferre eau de parfume. A similar concept, especially the opening and middle notes. Bold and Strong. If you experience them in parallel there are obvious differences. Magic is more astringent with fruity and floral notes and the dry down is close to the skin with patchouli, amber and musk. The sandalwood becomes more dominant in the late dry down. Obviously a modern chypre. Ferre starts fruity and dries down floral with a powdery iris, amber and musk. Magic is nicely blended, like any other “well done” chypre. The composition is not very easy to read. The notes are coming out like sparks, once in a while, so you have to be patient and ready. This is not a must have for me. It is difficult to understand which note bothers me; I think my nose picks the pear –coriander combination. Somehow they bring a disaccord to the overall harmony. MAGIC. Top clementine, coriander, orchid, pear and rose; middle jasmine, ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley; base sandalwood, amber, patchouli and musk. FERRE. Top bergamot, melon, pineapple, iris-leaf; middle ylang-ylang, magnolia, freesia, violet, rose and jasmine, base sandalwood, ‘basmati rice ’, iris, amber, musks and vanilla. Nice modern chypre with a warm, sensuous dry down. After 6 hours it is hard to believe these beautiful oriental tones belong to a chypre fragrance. 7.5 /10

This scent is truly high quality, refined, intense and magical! I've found a mini of EdP in the red box, but otherwise is not available anymore. Another gorgeous discontinued fragrance :-( I rarely wear it, it's not for everyday use, more of a special event scent as it is very strong and complex, feminine, bold and spiced. Lovely!

This smells very coconutty! I am surprised that coconut and vanilla are not mentioned here as ingredients. One of the first gourmand fragrances on the market. Celine Magic is a 90's powerhouse like Thierry Mugler's Angel. Magical on the right person.

Very unique scent! I love it, fresh and fruity but not too girly. I can't stop sniffing my hand!!!

Fragrance Review For Magic By Celine Top Notes: Clementine Coriander Orchid Pear Rose Middle Notes: Jasmine Ylang Ylang Lily Of the Valley Base Notes: Sandalwood Amber Patchouli Musk I read the article on this fragrance and remembered it was a fragrance I had in a home I had once lived in between the years 1995 and 1997. Then I asked my older sister if she remembered it or if she still had it and she did. This is rather outdated now and really does smell like a fruity floral frag of the 90's. But that's why I love it! This is very easy to wear, innocent sweet and yet full bodied and long lasting. I had hoped with a name like Magic that it would smell at least a little bit like Magie Noire by Lancôme which I really love. This is not really that magical, sorry folks. Just a simple fruited floral scent although I still really love it. The bottle however is very reminiscent of Chopard Enchanted. And it has some notes in common with Enchanted and smells a little bit like a more fruity Enchanted which is bigger on the patchouli. Magic opens with fruit accords: clementine, citrus and pear. The pear is very pronounced and very delicious. It has fruit for days and remains very fruity throughout the duration of the performance of the fragrance. It throws up flowery scents: ylang ylang, and lily of the valley. It smells mainly of an ylang ylang and of an unlisted orange blossom. Very sweet flowery smell. Nothing impressive or exotic. It has a dry down of sandalwood and amber. There's a light musk or white musk but it's never unisex. It's very feminine and sweet. It has a golden hot amber not quite balsamic but more like an oil. It's really good. I am so glad I rediscovered it. It belongs to my sister so I will have to look for this perfume online. And guess what ? It's still selling on Amazon.com probably in a reformulation and it's available in it's vintage form on ebay. This is very lovely.

Magic, indeed!! Celine is undoubtedly the Queen of understated luxury and style, she has influenced countless of designers and high street giants with her sleek, timeless classics ( that's my fashion designer background talking, take no notice...). This scent epitomises all that alongside the signature elements of Sophia Grojsman. I would have missed this gem if it wasn't recommended by one of the most delicious and experienced noses here in Fragrantica as I would have deemed it too fruity floral for my liking!! And, when delicious nose suggests a scent resistance is futile!!!!! Make no mistake, this scent is more than what the notes suggest. There is the aroma of ripe pear expertly mixed with The freshness of citrus, sprinkled abundantly with coriander, kissed softly by the reddest and most velvety rose and other floral nuances, on a bed of aromatic musk and sandalwood! Divine! Spicy, musky, floral and totally resinous. Classy, like the Celine frocks, bold and memorable like most of Sophia Grojsman's concoctions. A match made in heaven! This is NOT your usual fruity/floral addressed to the perpetually adolescent of this world. Sozz! This is a juice for the more discerning crowd that appreciate not only quality but personality too. Mesmerising!!! I am glad I took notice and had the chance to own this beautiful scent. Though for women, it can be unisex, you know my moto! Whether it's for men, women or crocodiles if you like it wear it!! Can't recommend it enough! Another timeless gem for my wardrobe!! Thank you, delicious nose for the recommendation!!!!

I was able to snag a few ml of this Magic - as EdP-Version as it seems. Why it has been this unknown and ignored is beyond me. Everyone goes on about the mystery and uniqueness of all the Mitsoukos, Armanis, Miss Cheries, ... And this? This is as blessedly perfect as all of them! There is a moderate, pre-80s chypre-base, patchouli most, warm but not dense flowers which might be jasmine and vanilla-orchid (or as Action stated additionally Heliotrope), but what makes this really a sophisticated and masterly woven perfume, is the combination of fresh fruityness and spices, which I think could be cinnamon,coriander. It is a special gem for important and refined experiences in my future. That this is so hard to get makes me already shuddering-thinking about the hunt for new mls... Update: Found a bottle of Magic - in a Flakon as Splash. It seems to be the EdP-Version...

Magic indeed, a spectacular 90's creation from.genius Sophia Grojsman ( no peach here 👏) and mr. Astori. A warm, creamy, exquisite explosion of clementines, rose, patchouli, santal wood, rose wood, amber and a hint of leather this is the epitome of luxury and happines. Yoi can t even xream nowadays to find such quality in a fragrance. Look for the EDP with te red collar ( which is different than edt in therms of composition) and more luxurious... No wonder Celine is now a niche house, they make amazing perfumes ( and expensive...).but the ones launched in the 80 and 90's, including this one, are the best. Magic in the EDP formula is rare, quite expensive, but if you find it for a good price, take it immediately The bottle is to die for. 9/10

Some reviewers here noted that Celine was strong and a powerhouse; others noted it had a soft, feminine aura. On me, it's a soft scent. I don't get much except a soft ylang with a touch of cinnamon, and soft amber/sandalwood in the drydown. The ylang smells slightly of coconut and banana. It's nice, but not quite was I was hoping for. The nose that created it was Sophia Grojsman, in 1996. It was listed as a "smells like" for Sun Moon & Stars (it doesn't). It actually reminded me of Guerlain Champs Elysee, though the notes are not at all similar.The longevity on me was about 5 hrs. - for a quality fragrance, I expected more. For a 1990s perfume made by my beloved Sofia Grojsman, this is surprising. I was expecting a heady vintage powerhouse but it is very subtle, elegant, feminine. It is sophisticated and glistening, clean and soapy but still extremely posh. It has a floral creaminess to it which reminds me of Avon's Today Tomorrow Always perfumes which my grandma used to wear. Even though it is not what I expected, I absolutely love it. It is rare for me to like light and fresh perfumes but this one stole my heart.

This has a strong caracther. It does not remind me of any other scent. Wanted to try sometinhg diferent from my usual scents and to me it feels dry and powdery, without the sweetness some scents have that get me tired very quickly. probably more suited for night but its nt overwelming for office use, since on my skin it does not leave a trail behind. You have to be close to feel it, giving out a sense of intimacy. I don't feel the flower notes, most its the clementine and sandalwood.

This is a fruity-chypre Sophia Grojsman classic which is hard to find nowadays. It is similar to Sun Moon Stars, Diamonds and Rubies, Yvresse and Paloma Tentations. Pear takes centre stage instead of the usual 90s peach or apricot in this one and it has a beautiful clementine, lily-of-the-valley and powdery rose heart. The base is a beautiful spicy vanilla. The bottle is super cute and I love the gold stars lining the box.

My mum is obsessed with the EDP version of this fragrance. My dad bought it for her as a gift when they got married around 25 years ago. She still talks about it to this day. She can’t really describe the fragrance, she only remembers how good it was. I’ve never smelled it before but my mum has never had a bigger fixation with anything ever so I desperately need to try this (and buy her a full size bottle).

I am a man but some times i use female pafumes, I am tired of the smoke, vetiver, leather,tobaco smell in the male pafumes Then I found magic , Sweet pear! I became a fruity pear head, I just use 1 push inside my suit ( I nomally do not use pafume on skin) Feel warm and happy.

Huge difference here in EDT & EDP. The EDP is gorgeous, powdery and warm. The EDT is like smelling a completely different scent. More of a cold floral, both nice, but i prefer EDP ( which of course is more expensive and harder to find )

the only disadvantage in it is it's very expensive i can buy only the sample or i may buy it for special occasions onlybut it smells unique but very quite

Fruity kumquat dominant stays clean. The edp is better in this case. Very nice.
