Iris Vanilla

Iris Vanilla (IV) is, quite honestly, a revelation. Wearing it feels like catching a glimpse of the direction Dior Homme could take if it ever ventured into an Elixir or Vanille flanker, except Enrico Buccella has already perfected that idea here. From the first spray, IV is creamy, seductive and quietly magnetic. The blend of orris root, vanilla, sugar, musk and iris is executed with such finesse that it feels effortlessly luxurious. The way the iris behaves, both the soft, petal-like facets and the deeper, rooty rhizome tones, creates this powdery, earthy sweetness that hints at violets and instantly reads as high-end. Cerchi is known for its gourmands but IV veers into a more refined territory without losing that indulgent DNA. It’s still comforting and delicious, yet there’s a floral sophistication woven through it that makes it feel fustian and pompous, almost couture. And as with Cerchi’s best vanilla-forward creations, the dry down is unreal. The vanilla settles into this plush, addictive warmth that lingers beautifully on skin, one of those finishes you keep returning to just to smell again.

I’ve been enchanted by iris-dominant scents, and I must say, IV by Cerchi is an absolute delight! This fragrance is truly remarkable, capturing the essence of candied iris. It’s a captivating blend of Iris Vanilla by Ormond Jayne (discontinued) and Black Tie by Celine. When you first apply it, you’re greeted by an intense, almost sharp, earthy iris note that immediately draws your attention. But don’t be fooled, it transitions into a sophisticated feminine gourmand profile. Even after five hours, you can still catch a whiff of its delicate projection.

Iris Vanilla is a stunning interpretation of iris. If you’re expecting a sugary, gourmand vanilla, this isn’t it. The vanilla is subtle, serving only to soften the composition while allowing the earthy, buttery iris to remain the star. Smooth, elegant, and beautifully balanced, it’s my favorite iris fragrance in this style.

If you like powdery scents then is your vibe. The combo of Iris and vanilla with the musk is intoxicating.

This one is so pretty! Why the rating is so low?! It's so elegant and comforting! It's not very sweet like a lot of offerings from this house. The iris is leaning on the rooty/earthy side. It's more prominent in the opening. The vanilla is thick and creamy, not in a gourmand way. The whole composition is simple but has depth to it. Highly recommend!
