1881 Amber pour Homme

I just can say that this is one of the warmest and most comforting HUGS durin COLD days - in form of a fragrance you will ever have!! very nice & long lasting in my opinnion!! I got 8 houres top`s with it. ( on clothes longer - sure ) this is really a shame that they stop mixing this juice. You feel like youre good and nothing bad happens when you wear it! So - it`s not a complicated situation you are dealing with, wile wandering around with it. it is simple Staged so to say ! but very charming and with a lot of warm confidence - musk and Amber are playing with some nice flowers - that is it !!! .. just a feel good scent! Heartbreaker during wintertime - when you don`t have it.. so to speak !! one of my favorite Winter frags during cold days ! nearly as good as gucci pour homme .. to me !! so .. i am in love with it !!

I'm still mourning the discontinuation of this fragrance, which was much more than a mere flanker of the basic version. It was really exceptional - as can be seen from the "This perfume reminds me of" section: there is no scent genuinely similar to the the late Cerruti1881 Amber :(

This is the one of my favourite. Elegance and unigue quite nice. It warm amber scent not sweet not dark little spice and wood. Good longevity on me. Good for cool weather. But it hard to find in my country.

Again Me =) By far Burberry Sport for Men by Burberry is what more or less similar to Cerruti 1881 Amber, still searching for better one.

Truly a masterpiece, the best ambery fragrance in the market by far surely because of its blending and uniqueness.

It's not like 1881 men at all but it's a sweet, fresh amber scent. Very nice !

As a blind purchase I thought that Amber pour homme would be more warm woodsy aromatic scent. I wouldn't say that I disappointed but it turn out to be far more GREEN then expected. When I first sprayed on my skin I was able to smell some Amber but it definitely had a more floral aroma with jasmine/lavender and just a hint of rose. The heart of this frag certainly has a warm woodsy/spicy aroma from the amber/musk mixed well with a touch of pepper and violet leaf. The two notes that I'm not able to detect is cedar and vetiver at all....not sure why because I love deep woodsy scents and those two are a most in men's fragrance. Longevity and Silage are just slightly better than average but this frag isn't a head turner. Overall thoughts, I would of rated this frag higher if Amber was more prominent. 6.5/10 last comment...despite what I wrote I do have a bottle because I still can appreciate a descent frag and this one is.

Wow Wow Wow! Another gem easily wearable for women in the masculine collection of fragrances! Green, fresh, citrusy-like and woodsy. Cedar, vetiver, musk, amber and jasmine are among my favorite notes and I seem to like the pepper in this rendition as well. I would not call this fragrance "warm" and sweet, it is more fresh and soft for me, quite sophisticated and making an interesting alternative for those tired of typically feminine scents. I would tag it a unisex fragrance, especially that on the packaging there is no indication it is dedicated to men. Great for office use and casual situations. Highly recommended for men and women!

had the chance of smelling that one yesterday, isnt a bad one but promises to be stronger at the beguinning and then faddes away quickly, expected more, as the amber love I am

The shimmering golden appeal of amber has always fascinated and delighted me, and thus a fragrance like this is almost guaranteed to enrapture me. My expectations are further whetted whenever I study its striking bottle and top which some have likened to a work of art. I don’t agree that this is a heavy scent. On the contrary, I find it to be a light and elegant amber of minimal sweetness and an almost green nature. It has a distinctly Continental European feel as well as an understated character which I could imagine some may find a little boring, but conversely would also make it generally a safe blind buy. It’s also definitely more masculine than feminine, but in a metrosexual way that would let it easily pass as unisex to many. In summary, I really want to like this scent (it’s an amber of course!) but am disgusted by its appalling longevity - 1-2 hours at most before it turns into a barely perceptible skin scent. Admittedly, I’ve only tried it so far in (very) warm weather, but would hope/demand that it performs significantly better in cooler weather before recommending it unconditionally. UPDATE: Tried this again, this time in cooler weather in London. Hideous longevity (1 hour tops) meant that I was glad to finish my bottle as quickly as possible. Not recommended at all for this reason alone!

1881 Amber is one of those fragrances that flew underneath the radar from the beginning- possibly because it is a flanker from a house that gets little attention? In any case, I’ve really enjoyed all the Cerruti fragrances I’ve tried, and this one is no exception. 1881 Amber is more of a floral/woody scent with a touch of amber smoothness rather than a typical heavy amber scent. It has a bit of everything except spiciness- green, fresh, floral, woody, amber, musk. Even a touch of that jasmine note, which usually ruins a fragrance for me, is blended nicely so that it just provides a warm glow rather than low-boil stank on my skin. I think I paid $13.00 for this, which is an incredible value for a such a lovely fragrance. An easy Amber to love here, and versatile too, given its many facets. And longevity is pretty good from my spray bottle, in answer to the query below.

One of the nicest scents ever. Very calm and comforting, and uplifting. Only downside to this beautiful creation is the longetivity. Few splashes of it on the face it lasts 2 hours maximum. But maybe the spray version lasts longer.. How would i describe this? Imagine an an old cottage in summer and there is a a garden full of flowers and honeysuckle. This is what i imagined when i put it on. For the price its worth the buy. 10/10 scent 3/10 longetivity

Warm, inviting, niche quality. It is not overwheliming in therms of projection - because it has been composed using natural ingredients. The longevity is good, around 4 hours on my skin. Maybe more on others. It is unique, nothing in conmon wotu tue original.1881, very, very hard to find. A true gem and a lesson for the thousand of "niches" wannabe from nowadays. THIS is perfumery.

Don t pay attention to the "smells like..." because there is nothing in the world like Cerruti Amber. Nothing. It s unique, and its beauty is overwhelming. I still have some few ml in my bottle and I am wondering where the good and quality times in oerfumery flew away? Why no one can make again such creations!?? I m so sad. Thank you, Cerruti, for this amazing, stunning gem. 😭💙⭐

I found this fragrance on a family holiday to Gran Canaria a few years back and it was perfect even though it was hot there. Citrusy, woody, the perfect amount of amber, little bit of florals. Luckily, I found two 50ml EDT bottles very cheaply online.

Oh! I love this one! Not too strong, not too sweet, not to green... very well balanced... equilibrium and harmony. Very refinated taste! Intimus and romantic, ideal for night or fresh days!

Just out of curiosity does anyone have the spray version of this? If so, what is the longetivity? Im thinking of getting the spray because i like this scent so much.

Definately from the same family as 1881 but much thicker and more of a winter scent. I like the rose note but not sure about some of the others.
