1881 Edition Blanche

Do you love mimosa,.. yet you are frustrated that mimosa fragrances don’t last? One of my favorites is Mimosa Pour Moi, and the bottle was costly.. but the scent does not last!! This is a similar mimosa that has staying power. If you love that honeyed mimosa and violet leaf scent, you’ll definitely like this one. This also has great sillage.. my husband claims it still lingers in a room once I’ve left it. I’ve stocked up and bought two more bottles... that are still on Amazon for only 30 bucks. It’s not a fill the room sort of beast, but no mimosa ever really is... but it’s definitely the longest lasting mimosa in my collection.

This is such a pretty soft floral, suitable for everyday wear. Mimosa is the star of this perfume although in the opening it shares the stage with the violet leaf and bergamot which provide a crisp greenness. The green notes fade within 30 minutes or so, allowing the mimosa to truly shine along with background players of heliotrope and vanilla providing a sweet powdery backdrop. From this point the perfume is fairly linear and lasts for at least 4-6 hours. Sillage is very good, but never overpowering or oppressive. Although not a complete dupe, 1881 Blanche is extremely similar to L'Artisan Parfumeur's Mimosa Pour Moi and I wouldn't think you would need to own both unless you're a mimosa connoisseur.

I really like it, as I like all the 'white' fragrances. Unfortunately it disappears on me withing minutes. And I mean gone. Nothing lingers after those delicious few minutes. Just gone. I have no idea why:(

Fluffy and cozy. Lovely scent!

Remember "Just Say No"? OMG. I was searching for a lovely powdery scent. Feminine, soft, powdery... MmmmHmmmm. This was like a powder trainwreck. Lol First spray took me back to the days of cheapo perfumes of childhood. Gag? Yes. Choke everyone in the room? Check. SOB lasts forever for some reason? Oh yeah. Lol Do yourselves a nice, big favor: SKIP!

This was a blind buy, discovered in my research of the original 1881 Cerruti (expected in the mail tomorrow). I normally wouldn't spring for something so obscure blindly, but I was influenced by its promise of heliotrope, the fact that it was composed by Annick Menardo, and the fairly low price (~20 USD for 50 ml). My first impression is that this smells like sweet, delicate, green flower stems and chamomile tea. It is very fresh, green, and cool-toned. It has the vibrancy of a still-living plant just plucked. Without knowing what mimosa smells like in its own right, it's difficult to use this as a referent, but the dominant flower I smell is a combination of fresh, wet grass (a bit musky) and like a lily-of-the-valley minus the sweetness, if one can imagine it. In the first hour or so still, a marked sweetness is setting in, but the greenness remains, landing this in a very exciting and unusual "dandelion cotton candy" phase with just a hint of soap. Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Annick Menardo! As another review says, the "greens" eventually drop out entirely and leave behind a soft, sweet, powdery scent that looks like it would come from its bottle. Do I smell heliotrope? Not sure. But a hint of almondy vanilla? Oh yes. I can't imagine visiting a perfumer counter at Macy's or wherever and finding a composition like this. It strikes me as very unusual. I repeat, "There is DANDELION COTTON CANDY in here!" This also smells a bit like Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline plus a healthy dose of sugar. On a different note, this is a very nice bottle to hold. The lower half is made of a matte ceramic that feels cool and stony in my hand. This was a happy blind-buy. It doesn't resemble anything else I have, and I can already tell I'm really going to enjoy these seminal wearings where I can really explore this strange beauty.

Mimosa dancing with heliotrope.Heliotrope dancing with mimosa:)It`s a spring evening and nobody is thinking about going home yet.And they are a bit jealous of each other so don`t want to take anybody else with them. Blanche edition of Cerruti 1881 is a delicate scent,semi sweet, powdery in a good way.First sniffs are mainly about heliotrope, similar to classics by Etro or Molinard for example.After a half an hour I can detect violet leaves, gentle and beautiful.No bergamot, blackcurrant or any other fruit. Vanilla and a hint of white musk appear in the drydown. Blanche is not strong but longlasting scent and stays rather close to your skin. Suitable for daily wearing as well as evening.Hot weather can be harmful for it.I would recommend to try first, not everybody will like this kind of flowery composition. I find important to write that it has got nothing in common with first Cerruti 1881 scent as it`s not sparkling or smoky.Flower-pow(d)er in fact Reminds a bit Kenzo Amour.

On first spraying this seems like a sweet aromatic scent in what I think of as a sort of 'vegetal' way - I think that's the bergamot being quickly over powered by the violet leaf. It settles down fairly quickly to a warm, sweet powdery scent with a floral (I don't know what heliotrope or mimosa smell like au naturel) vanilla heart. Builds up really well with reapplication (2-3 times over the morning), at which point it projects so that I can clearly smell it just when I turn my head. I like it, which is just as well since I got a 50ml bottle!

I get a hint of freshness for 2 minutes, bergamot and something else. Just after spraying there's a fresh cloud of violet leaf in the air. But it doesn't stay on my skin. After first minutes it turns sweet and flowery. Maybe that's mimosa, I can't tell. This powerful sweet flowery smell lasts quite long and it settles into vanillic scent in couple of hours. There's also prominent almondy heliotrope. Overall sweet and pretty and it seems to suit my cold early spring days. Quite strong and long lasting.

rotten fruit wrapped in sugar dough. I can't imagine anyone liking this! Headache sweetness with a hint of compost.

Can somebody review it, please? What about mimosa note? It it really pronounced?
