Cerruti 1881 Serie Limitee

I just got my nose on this fragrance and I have to say that I didn’t know it was the gentleman’s version and I think it can be used easily by women as an EDT, this is to me a perfect unisex scent. The opening is a beautiful blast of citrus and herb. Don’t be tempted to stick your nose as you press the nozzle because it is alcoholic in that 3 second mark. Galbanum, lily of the valley, cypress and bergamot. These are the notes that impress upon my olfactory senses the most. This is old school, there’s no getting around it. But if you like that old school cologne vibe, you are sure to want this as an EDT in your collection. Note, don’t expect EDP performance and longevity, it is pointedly an EDT.

I picked this up as part of an exchange after reading about it in Luca Turin's book. It is fine, nothing too amazing, very strong juniper opening for me. It does have decent longevity and silage, but seems like something you might wear with a suit. I don't reach for this much now that I have many other options.

A friend had this in his bathroom. I pinched a spray and liked it. I bought it recently. I like it.

Quite boring in all honestly. I blind bought this and was quite disappointed to basically smell...nothing. Definitely has a fresh feel to it but that's about it. 3/10

It's got enough notes to scent an army, but it's sharp, strong and yet somehow undefinable. Definitely reminds me of old school fragrances that are cheap (but not synthetic) and cloying. I don't know, this one's not for me. Is it for you? I don't know, but I'll never recommend this to anyone. Revisited: the first sniff scares me because it's smells like scents of 50 or even 60 years ago. But after a second, it backs off to a reasonable level. This is old school and smells like it. It smells ok, but it's definitely a powdery old person smell. The citrus is nice, florals aren't too overbearing, it's a good mix but it smells old. I'm surprised sesame isn't in the note break down. Did I mention this smells old?
