La Nuit Danse

This is a simple yet stunning fragrance. I don't think I own a single powdery perfume because they never seem to speak to me. But this might be my first purchase. Not sure yet. But I love how delicate La Nuit Danse is. I could imagine wearing it exclusively around the house, when I'm alone. It's definitely a "lady of the manor" kind of scent.

The most unique scent in my collection. It’s ethereal 🥰

An interesting one, it starts off super powdery with an old fashioned vanilla, but then opens into a completely different vibe- floral, sweet, fresh, summery, girly, with the powder still present but not nearly as vintage as it started with. And after that it again settles into the final muted floral powder. I can`t smell much of a bergamot, to me it`s just combinations of flowers, vanilla and powder. Again, interesting but that ever present vintage note is a bit too old fashioned for me.

I’m getting a peachy powdery floral on a base of rice pudding. The rice note is very sweet, almost lactonic. It’s my boyfriend’s favourite for me amongst the ones I got in the Chabaud tester kit. I find it almost too sweet to wear though. Performace is great, but it’s also quite pricy. It reminds me of Gucci Gorgeous Magnolia, which is like a mellow musky version of La Nuit Danse, but also affordable.

For me it's a soapy version of Kenzo Amour. If you have the Kenzo you don't need this one. The comment above talks about Dove scent and I agree with it, it has similarities. Sillage is a little bit dissapointing, from my elbow to my nose i only have very few whiffs. Idk yet for the performance.

FIRST IMPRESSION right off the bat it smells just like a popular sunscreen local brand, which is pretty boring and generic tbh. i get white florals and something half lactonic. it is a sharp and bright scent, kinda dusty-suffocating when breathing in, as if it has strong lavender. i also get that 'fake sand' note but maybe it is just due to the context of it being associated to sunscreen scent to me. it is obviously feminine, not exactly youthful scent, kid of dated. it has slight honey-quality hiding in the back behind all the sharp florals. FEW HOURS LATER... it is somewhere between a sunscreen scent to a shampoo to a laundry detergent. it is bright sharp dry floral, a little dusty and dated, mediocre and uninteresting imo. 35/100

In the same realm as La Peau Nue by Celine but a slightly sharper opening and poorer performance. That said, I love La Peau Nue, and this is an equally pretty, sensual, feminine fragrance with a vintage aura that has been tastefully executed. Certainly not a straightforward iris-powdery scent, nor specifically white-floral. It is beautifully balanced with a woody background that stops it from teetering toward cloying. It has a milky quality, like a scented lotion, I guess playing into the classic style of perfumery. This is very much my style so I enjoy it. However, there's a stale note in the dry down that I can't quite reconcile - something dusty/starchy. I feel it's quite glamorous though, especially worn as an evening or to bed scent, and I don't mind that.

This reminds me a bit of Soie Malaquais by Dries Van Noten, only I like this better. It has a purple fruit in the opening, but it fades to a light powdery iris with a soft, silky cashmere accord...like a great Hermes shawl. It has a very non-gourmand vanilla in the background with some sandalwood. It's very feminine, universally likable and stronger than other fragrances from this house might be (they all happen to perform great on me, but I've heard on some people the longevity can be modest). I find it FBW.

Update after full bottle purchase - today, I’m getting warm, soft, comforting iris powder bomb with hints of musk, vanilla and tonka. Not dissimilar to my testing experience, except that I’m not getting the sandalwood this time. The longevity is incredible. I’m a huge fan of Chabaud, but none have as much longevity as LND. The projection is great, but not offensive. Gorgeous stuff.
