Lait Concentré

I have a really hard time with fragrances as a chronic migrainer. Most scents make my brain go haywire (migraines are not just headaches, they have a bunch of neurological symptoms attached). This scent is probably one of the first ones where I'm not afraid to spray more than a tiny bit of it in a spot that is far away from my face so that I can only smell small whifs of it here and there. I am SENSITIVE yall, and I've been spraying this on my shirt right in front of my face. I LOVE that it has intimate sillage, in my mind you should only ever smell my perfume if you're coming in for a hug, and it should not stick around in your nose after said hug. Everyone's triggers are different and I wouldn't want my perfume triggering another person's migraines in a bus. This is one of the first perfumes in a long time that I would totally buy a whole bottle of and could see myself actually using it up. This is what I want when I say I want a skin scent (not musk galore like so many "skin scents"). It's soft but not powdery, sweet but not cloying. My only con (and it's kind of a big one for the price) is that it does not last very long. It's a very photorealistic sweetened condensed milk scent. There is an extremely slight sourness at times but it's all so balanced. I can't wait to try the rest of chabaud's gourmand line, especially lait de biscuit!

I have been wanting to try this for so long and I finally got my hands on the Chabaud Gourmand Set and I am in raptures. Lait Concentré is my favourite of the set. It's this warm and comforting milky gourmand, and I mean a true gourmand; like, it smells food-like. I find that other fragrances described as gourmand are often grounded with florals or wood or amber, or other non-foodie base notes. Not Lait Concentré. It smells actually edible. From first spray, I get these beautiful impressions of condensed milk, cajeta, White Rabbit candy, toasted milk solids and a whisper of coconut cream. A deep butter note emerges after an hour or so of wear. Comforting, cozy, delicious. I don't know what I want more, to wear this or drink it. If Lait Concentré were saccharine sweet it'd get cloying but it's not; it's sweet in the way that steamed milk is naturally sweet. Compared to other fragrances in the series, Lait Concentré is less sweet than Vanille, about as sweet as Lait de Biscuit, and sweeter than Chocolat. Be aware though: though it lasts a decent while, it doesn't project far. This is the lactonic perfume of my dreams. I am 100% buying a full bottle when my 7 mL sample is done.

Like a more sour coconut Bianco latte without the butteriness and the chocking swetness, this is true true lactonic, very faint, very elegant aside the sourness that almost smells like a mango, puffed to my 3 yo after he chosed vanilla thinking he wouldnt notice and he said "mom, this is mango not the vanilla one" , and yeah, is the kind of coconut that smells like a mango , but is soooo good, and i love coconut but hate mango, this one made me consider the note for other fragances, and i actually like sour milk, but this is not like a nasty sour milk, is like a sweet sour milk with mango, the most creamy coconut on earth , condensed milk and one almost floral sweet vanilla, is really good, not tacky at all , for me has more taste than bianco latte, its my favorite gourmand and yeah, in this bianco latte era you wont find something like this, this is the true lactonic my friends, also, this one is the most versatil fragance i have for layering, makes everything more coconut creamy, it was great with Eau de coconut from bath and body works

I screamed, literally screamed when I sprayed this. This is my dream come true in a bottle. Its not complex, its not "artistic" in a perfumer sense, its quite literal and linear. It is pure. condensed. milk. Its warm, decadent, buttery, rich, sweet. There's no coconut. Nothing fresh or grounding. This is a hyper-realistic WARM condensed milk. No florals, no spices, nothing "earthy" no grass notes. This is what condensed milk smells like when you're caramelizing it into dulce de leche but before it takes on the nutty brown notes. I'd bathe in this stuff if I could. I hope they sell it forever because I own too much perfume to invest in back-up bottles. Honestly, I might even go on a buying freeze. I don't imagine anything will satisfy me for a while after adding this to my collection (and another gorgeous amber fragrance that I'll review after this.) Smells like you just baked brown butter cookies without any fixings. Just browned butter and brown sugar cookies. Caramelized sweet gooey goodness.

I love this scent. It smells very edible and delicious. To me it’s very buttery, it reminded me of the scent that wafts up when I’m making cookies and I’m creaming the butter and sugar together - sweet, rich, and creamy. I oversprayed a bit this morning because I felt the first time I wore it seemed to not have a very strong sillage or longevity. However, that was this morning at 9am and when my girls came in this afternoon and 5pm they said they could smell it all through the house and that it smelled amazing and sweet. I think we have a tendency to judge some perfumes wrongly because of going scent blind to what we’re wearing. I love sweet perfumes, but I have experienced cloying with some, but I feel the buttery scent of it balances out the sweetness...at least to my nose. For a reference point of my opinion, I love the idea of vanilla but only sort of like very few of them. So if you’re looking for something to satisfy what you may have been looking for in a vanilla, this could be it.

Upon first application this smells EXACTLY like a freshly opened can of coconut milk on me. Soon enough it morphs into a nearly photorealistic warm milk scent, like a mug of milk fresh off the stove with just the tiniest hint of something sweet to help you sleep. Maybe a little buttery - this is whole milk, the real deal, no skim or 1% in this house. Honestly it's incredibly nice and immediately comforting. I actually don't get the super sweet aspect lots of people seem to, it really is just warm milk for me. Like...it's almost so realistic its slightly disconcerting, in a nice way. Lactonic notes don't tend to go sour on me and that remains the case here, nothing icky or offputting as it wears, just a gently fading sweetness. The longevity isn't great, but its so nice while it lasts I can't even be that bothered by it. I don't know that I'd wear this out and about but this could be a real contender for a cozy winter bedtime scent.

There was a span of time that I really wanted to do latte art at home. I tried to warm up the milk and make heart shape or tulip shape, yet I have never achieved making one single nice pattern. With quite a lot of milk being wasted from the trying, my kitchen sink smelled like milk for nights. I just couldn't help but have to buy a nice milk fragrance as I need to seize the enchanting feeling. I watched quite a lot of youtube reviews and finally decided to blind by Chabaud. No complex notes, no chemical adding, just a cup of warm milk, around 50 degrees or so. It is not too sweet but just as sweet as any warm volle milk can be. I've also tried the samples of other gourmand fragrance from Chabaud, none of them were as good as this milky one. Perfect for warm and cooler seasons, day or night. Very intimate, cozy, tender, cheerful, walks you to sweet dreams.

My husband said I smelled like a sticky Movie theater floor. I don't know how to take that. Do I smell like butter pocporn and Coca Cola? LOL All I get is Condensed Milk, and like a user said below me, I also used to eat that straight out of the can (not healthy at all, I know!) i really like it. it is a scent that makes me feel comfortable and warm, it makes me feel like home. But I appreciatethis more in the comfort of my home. When I just want to cuddle on bed and binge watch something on the TV. Or while doing some Christmas cookies in the kitchen while wearing a fluffy and soft sweater. I don't see myself wearing this out on public so I keep a decant of a full bottle I used to own. And got rid of the Full bottle because I knew I wouldn't ever go through all of it.

If you love realistic gourmands, this one is for you ! The first spray smells like fresh milk (be careful if you do not like milk, you might think it's a nightmare at first sniff) and then it turns into this rich, very sweet, very thick condensed milk. After a few hours it tranforms into a mouthwatering buttery cookie (think high calorific value shortbread) and it's sooo comforting. I love to layer it with Bake from Akro but be careful, you will be hungry all day long ! The projection is moderate but the longevity is great and you can enjoy your little scent bubble all day long. I enjoyed it this fall/winter and even though I would certainly not wear it during summer I think it could be suitable for spring as it is not cloying.

pure, syrupy condensed milk, with fleeting hints of... what... butter? vanilla? or caramel? closer to condensed milk food flavoring than a perfume, yes, but for milk seekers tired of those strange notes that so many 'milk' concept perfumes have they don't mention in their descriptions (like, from Fueguia 1833's Quilombo or Bath & Body's Milk), this is The Thing - believe me the projection is weak, but that could be an advantage🥲 since many people find those sweet and edible scents disagreeable, and as for the lasting power... at least it lasts better when sprayed on clothes🥹 if you're into lactonic gourmand, or litreral milk, just go for it or at least give it a chance okay kiss kiss

Just as the name suggests this is that jar of condensed milk. Extremely sweet and thick obviously decadently milky. As someone who used to eat the condensed milk straight of the can, this is it! I’ve looked far and wide and this is the best lactonic scent I’ve found. When I say best I mean scentwise. During the hardest times of my life I used to find comfort in a cup of hot milk with an unreasonable amount of sugar (and a brioche). These days I try do get the scent instead, as sugar is not an option anymore. And this is the closest I have found. Performance is not great but the considering the scent and the quite affordable price I don’t mind repurchasing this as often as necessary

After trying Commodity's "Milk" and DedCool's "Milk", I found myself still searching for a truly creamy, milky scent. I didn't know it was possible for a scent to mimic any edible item as closely as this one does - this is undoubtedly EXACTLY what a tin of condensed milk smells like - sweet, creamy with the tiniest hint of coconut and butter. This smells exactly like a milkshake lolly that I loved growing up - the main ingredient of these candies being condensed milk. It is definitely very sweet, but not cloying. This is a scent that does stay close to the skin but is absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a creamy, lactonic sweet scent - look no further!

I was so scared by the bad reviews saying it smells like "baby that pucked milk" ... like, that's exaggerating to the point I really don't understand how you could potentially smell smth like that lmao. It's very veryy good, but I'm a gourmand lover, so I guess it can smells too sweet for some. Smells exactly like sweet condensed milk that you use for cakes or coffee, that's creamy sweet and I get the coconut note as well, but It's not overpowering ! (I really don't like coconut). It's really worth to sample, but sadly for the price : the sillage and longevity are really missing :( that was a great discovery in my opinion !

Why is it rated low? I tested it at Esxence and now have a full bottle. Think of the smell of boiling milk. Now imagine you forgot to take it off the stove on time so now it smells a bit burnt/caramelized but extremely milky too. That is exactly how this fragrance smells to me. It feels so cosy when the weather's colder. It also has mad longevity on my skin. My sister tried and said the same thing but at some point it started making her a bit nauseous. Perhaps not for everyone but for those who like it, I believe it's an easy 9+. Oh and it layers well with "Lait de Biscuit | Chabaud" and "Lait et Chocolat | Chabaud" .

This perfume is perfect for when I want to feel girly, comforted and wrapped up in a scent bubble just for me. It smells like you’ve taken a tin of condensed milk, coated your body in it and wrapped yourself in cling film. It’s a wee bit plasticky but the sweet, condensed milk that envelopes you when you move means you don’t mind. That plasticky note disappears after a short while and you’re left with a buttery, milky, sugary scent that smells divine. Think super soft blankets, cheesy rom coms and fluffy socks. It’s not sophisticated, it’s not for the office, it’s for you when you want to indulge and relax.

🥥🥛 It is SICKLY sweet, for my nose it is the same thing which the condensed sweet milk is for my tongue. And what is important to say, I am gourmand LOVER. It’s not easy to overpower me with sugar. When I become used to it, I started be able to detect coconut as a dominant note. I wouldn’t wear it in public when I care about that what people would think about me and my smell. That is because I suspect this fragrance to be perceived as retired milk, if interpreted wrong. I do agree with someone down who said it gives Rafaello vibes, but I am surprised that this person judged coconut note as not prominent

The most photo-realistic milk scent I've ever smelt. I've been using my sample for soo long and now I've finally purchased the whole bottle. I think the milk note is my favourite in perfumes, but this one is so real that I wasn't sure if it's even wearable as a perfume. I am still not 100% sure about that, but I know that I love it. I get excited about a lot of scents, but I think this one is the winner in "can't stop smelling myself", because I know the smell for a long time, but get stunned every time I smell my wrist. Plus, it's a first perfume my dog actually licks off me, she's obsessed.

It goes straight to my scent memory because it reminds me of making fudge with my grandma when we’d cook the evaporated milk and sugar together. It’s not for everyone, but I am head over heels in love with it. It’s a more intimate perfume, it sits very close to my skin but I’m not mad at it, because it’s still somewhat niche in whether or not someone would like it. Despite it sitting close to my skin, it does last quite a while though, I wore it to work and it didn’t start to fade until I got home like eight hours later.

Oh goodness. Warm milk, brown butter, and sugar. It's *delicious*. Chabaud put itself on my radar with Lait de Biscuit (still my favorite), but WOW WOW WOW did they hit the nail on the head with this fragrance, too. I'm so impressed. I know lactonic notes sometimes hit a weird playdoughy smell for people, but I haven't gotten that at all with Lait Concentre. This would be so good for layering with maybe some nutty fragrances or even something lightly fruity and fresh. If your grandma made you warm milk to help you fall asleep, I'd highly recommend you give this one a try.

Ok this brings me to my childhood to around 7 years old. I would be watching Hockey Night in Canada with my Dad usually after washing up and getting ready for bed and holding my pillow. My mom used to heat up milk with a little honey and vanilla and it was our bedtime drink and I would slowly drink this to prolong bedtime and I would be watching the Leaf game with Dad. This is nostalgic for me and this scent would only be for me and my memories with my Dad. This is not for everyone, the lactonic element can be cloying especially if you are not a gourmand lover.

I really love this one ! I guess it's the first pure gourmand that I enjoy so much. Fortunately, I don't detect any burnt caramel( like, say, in Chocolate Greedy) , just hot milk with caramel or butter cookies. I don't detect any coconut either, but it's ok for me. Worn on clothes or hair it has a decent longevity and projects well in the warm weather or in the sun. Yesterday I was wearing it when taking a walk and all the way long I was being accompanied with an idea to bake sth delicious when I come back home: it's a very inspiring gourmand perfume ;)

This is a lovely, delicious, pure gourmand that smells just like sweetened condensed milk, with some browned butter (think the scent of butter bubbling and browning in a pan) in the drydown. I'm not getting any coconut. This is a warm, sweet, and comforting fragrance that makes me think of Christmas. It also makes me want to keep my wrist to my nose all day. It's so temptingly rich, buttery, milky, and sweet, that I want to lick my wrists! I received this as a sample with a purchase from Osswald NYC, and will definitely be purchasing a full bottle.

Smells exactly like a tin of condensed milk, but somehow manages to not be cloying and revolting with it. It's delicious and makes me want to drink myself. Projects an arm's length and lasts 12h+. Really amazing performance for the money. I don't usually like gourmand at all but this is really really nice for the winter. Don't wear it in the summer though as it'll be too sticky. If anyone has Lataffa Khamrah then I recommend layering that with this; you'll smell absolutely edible and like the best dessert in the world. Thank me later.

It's nearly perfect as a photorealistic condensed milk scent. The reason it isn't quite perfect is that as it starts to dry down, and for the rest of its very long life on the skin, it has an off note underneath, which admittedly you only really get if you shove your nose right in, but with this type of scent that's exactly what I want to do. The off note is a sort of burnt plastic, rubbery thing, which gets stronger during the drydown. Notwithstanding this hitch, I do love it and will gladly spray my 30ml at bedtimes and on days off.

I finally found my perfect milk perfume! It has a subtle hint of coconut, caramel, and mint that beautifully balances the sweetness and creaminess. It reminds me of Asian milk candies... soft, milky, and nostalgic, but not overly sweet, which I love. It mainly smells like condensed milk, so cozy and perfect for the colder seasons. I can definitely see myself upgrading this one to a full size! One thing to note though is that it’s really weak, I’d definitely need a couple sprays a day to really enjoy it.

It opens with a blast of warm full cream milk, straight out of the microwave, which then settles into a condensed milk/toffee scent that is reminiscent of those "Milky" Peko-chan Hokkaido milk candies (how many times can I say 'milk' in one sentence?!). Anyway, I can't stop smelling my arm. It does have a slightly 'spoilt' smell on first spray, but I promise it dissipates in seconds. That said, it's probably a fragrance I will (thoroughly) enjoy in private, as I'm not sure how others would perceive it.

Recieved in a swap. It's divine, it does exactly what it promises, provide a sweetened condensed milk scent, opens like it n stays like it. If you like that, you'll love it, if you don't you won't, simples. It reminds me of tinned Ambrosia Rice pudding as well, or the milk puddings my gran used to make. I imagine the vanilla one of these (Chaubaud Lait de Vanille) is to die for. I've layered this with a vanilla n it's great as well. Best most realistic milk since Lavandes Trianon I think.

Wow I absolutely love this. When I was little, there was this brand of milky caramel candy I use to LOVE but can never find in the US and this smells exactly like that, maybe a little milkier. My mom always said that when I was a baby/toddler, her strongest memory of me is how I smelled “just like sweet milk” and I imagine this is pretty darn close to that memory. This is a such a comforting nostalgic warm smell for me. I’m definitely picking this up after I finish my sample.

My first perfume sample and full-bottle purchase. This is an incredible fragrance. I couldn't quite believe a perfume could capture a scent so realistically. This is creamy condensed milk. It works well on its own as a cozy fragrance when you want to curl up on the couch with a blanket as a comforting pick-me-up, and during the cooler fall and winter months. It also works well layered with other fragrances to round out and soften bolder notes.

Mmmm... this fragrance captures the essence of condensed milk almost completely, but doesn't wear thick and heavy like you would expect it to. It's beautifully soft and playful on the skin - I picture it being worn by a mischievous princess eating petit fours while sitting on plush pink silk pillows. It’s definitely suitable to wear in warmer weather, unlike many other gourmands.

Condensed milk at its finest- so realistic you can practically taste it. This is the epitome of lactonic. Not very strong, but when I reapply about an hour after initial spray, it lasts 3-5 hours. It’s creamy, milky and vanilla, but not exactly sweet. It transports me back to childhood baking with my mom. It’s a soothing and calming experience taking me to a safe and warm place.

When I first smelled it, I didn’t know the fragrance notes, but it immediately reminded me of breaded and fried yellow cheese. Even though I’m dairy intolerant, I’ve always loved it. This scent brought me back to my childhood, when breaded cheese was my favorite food. I really like this fragrance, but I’m not sure I’d want to smell like this. It’s also not very long-lasting

This is such a buttery fragrance. It is such an interesting, unexpected scent. Photorealistic gourmand. Buttery shortbread cookie dipped in warm vanilla buttermilk. I can't stop sniffing it. I will say though that the longevity is terrible. As is the sillage. I want to buy a full bottle but its hard to justify when I can hardly smell it after an hour.

Gourmand heaven. Exactly the same as opening a can of sweetened condensed milk. Nothing artistic or abstract about this interpretation. All sweet buttery goodness, no off-notes (looking at you Xerjoff Lira). If this is what baby vomit smells like, I hope to be vomited on by many babies. Obviously stay away if you do not like smelling like butter.

This is heavenly. Thanks to the people on the forum (Topic: Gourmad notes: Milk) I have discovered Chabaud and this particular aroma. Just got my discovery set and am absolutely in love. Yes condensed milk, yes caramel/toffee, yes light coconut. All with a faint warm floral veil. Outstanding. Definitely gonna buy a full size bottle.

I really love this... I definitely got buttered popcorn in the beginning but it's developing into more bakery vibes, which I am really enjoying. It smells like such a buttery biscuit. I got Lait de Biscuit as well and I like the idea of layering them together. They're both really nice.

This scent legitimately DRIPS with the sweetness of condensed milk, dense and comforting. As a Singaporean kid, condensed milk was my go-to indulgence, slathered over waffles or stirred into iced Milo, so this scent hits me right in the nostalgia. A favourite bedtime scent of mine.

Smells like walker’s shortbread with butter on top, add a glass of milk. Comforting, delicious, brings childhood memories back but this is so incredibly non-lasting. 1 hour and it’s gone, stays very close to the skin. That’s a pity, worth a FB otherwise for the gourmand-lovers,

This is absolutely delicious! I love the sweet milkiness. I do get the condensed milk reference. It’s also almost salty. Someone said a buttery croissant that is an excellent description. Ugh it’s incredible. Such a successful blind buy! ❤️❤️❤️

It's a photorealistic condensed milk scent. While it remains fairly linear from start to finish it is incredibly warm and comforting making it ideal for chilly weather. If you’re a fan of gourmand scents, you should definitely give this a try.

100% delicious condensed milk. Really comforting. I can’t stop sniffing myself, and then I wonder if this “yum” effect would be beneficial in other ways... is this why gourmands are so popular?! And I def see the Matin Calin fam resemblance.

I LOVE the smell of this, it smells like sticking your nose in a can of condensed milk. It's so nice for layering. However, it sits extremely close to the skin and the lasting power is terrible.

Sweet buttery milk and caramel!!! I got indirectly complimented on this while I was in the thrift store! A woman in the previous isle I was in had mentioned it smelled like kettle corn.

Photorealistic sweetened condensed milk. If you love super sweet and/or laconic perfumes give it a try. I love wearing it to bed and can still smell it in the morning.

it's like the inside of your bra after wearing it all day. warm, milky and close to the skin. longevity is terrible, sprayed it on twice within the hour.
