Lait de Biscuit

Don't let the notes fool you. Chabaud Lait de Biscuit isn't a dense, heavy, candy sweet stickly caramellic confectionary fragrance. This is a nice, really lovely and lighthearted, fluffy and cloud like airy gourmand eau de toilett. It doesn't have a big sillage, it's a really intimate fragrance what feels like a mild, soft touching embrace full of kindness. At the first spray i feel bit of its synthetic charactheristic, but this trait dissapear fast, so it isn't bothering at all -at least for me. The biscuit accord is quite simple, but really lovely and realistic and it's sweetened by a little bit of caramel. The vanilla here - as i said- isn't a dense creamy vanilla, it's much more a very light, lactonic and airy vanilla what is giving the impression of a mug of lukewarm milk what is sweetened by a little bit of vanilla. This fragrance is as light, tender and ethereal on skin just like a flutter of a butterfly. This fragrance gives me flasbacks from my idillic childhood memories, when i was dipping that caramel sweetened biscuits into a glass of milk. And this fragrance almost realistically smells like these biscuits which were sopped in milk but -i repeat myself- in a very airy and fluffy way. And this airiness is that facet of this scent what makes it truly alluring and lovable for me. And this aeriality is that quality what makes this lovely but linear gourmand fragrance a fairy like and ethereal creation. But for my biggest sorrow this airy trait makes the scent not just ethereal but ephemeral also. :( It's a beautiful, comforting but short-lived creation. Tip: I could help a bit about its ephemeral quality, with my favorite oatmilk milk scented bodylotion what i used on my skin mixed with some vaseline, before i spray the fragrance. Btw it's oneif my fav go-to-bed scent, so i don't worry if it diesb't last long, or has a big silla. For sleeping i spray a bit on my wrists but not just there, i also spray 2 spritz onto my pillow what keeps the scent much more.

Delicious, buttery, sweet, vanilla-y and milky, this is a true, foody gourmand in the bakery family. The scent is so tasty that it makes me crave sweets. I can’t stop smelling myself, it’s so scrumptious. Smells like a rich butter biscuit or shortbread. I’m also reminded of the scent of Cocoa Puffs—that sweet, comforting vanillin fragrance. I’m getting some toffee, too. It’s linear, but since I love the scent from the moment it goes on, that’s exactly what I want from this. This is the gourmand I’ve been longing for, and I’ve fallen in love. Delightful and lovely. One to treasure. I only wish it was stronger and lasted longer. I have to do a double application of this, each one a heavy one, and even then I can only smell it lightly on myself. Definitely a skin scent, very low sillage. Perhaps I’ve been smelling myself so much that my nose gets too used to the scent and can’t detect it anymore. In any case, I’m going to go through this bottle very quickly. The packaging is also lovely—a beautiful, simple clear glass cylinder with white label, black cursive script, and a pale pink border. It reminds me of an elegant, minimalist wedding invitation. If you’re in the US and you don’t have any retailers near you that carry it, this scent is available from Osswald NYC for $105.00. I live in MA and ordered on a Wednesday and received it the next day, even without paying for express shipping! They also generously included 3 samples, all in the vanilla family, 2 of which were also from Maison Chabaud. Even though this perfume is far more expensive than I would normally pay for a scent, it’s that kind of care and thoughtfulness that will keep me coming back as a customer. That and the scent, of course. :)

I'm now sitting in a library in Norway's oldest town, with a snowy, wooden housed view. It's five days until christmas and I'm writing my final exam for the year. To motivate myself to walk the icy road to sit down and write, I decided to make a pit stop at the local perfume store. I knew they had TF Oud Wood, and I wanted to smell like that today. But before spraying it on myself, I took the time to search the shelves for new fragrances, and I saw they had started taking in Chabaud. It is my first experience with the house. I smelled all nine they had. Some were nice, most were a bit too light for the season, but this really stood out. Sniffing without reading the name, I got a clear image of cheap Tom and Jerry biscuits we have here in Norway. They smell like buttery biscuits with lots of vanillin. Wow! I love the smell of those, but the taste is cheap. The perfume, on the other hand, I loved straight away. Better quality than the biscuits. To me it just smells of biscuits with a heavy dose of vanillin (absolutely not real vanilla). While sitting in the library corner, I can't stop smelling my arm. It is really cozy, and perfect for the setting. I don't think it's one to wear in any situation, but just for my own pleasure, it is perfect. Not complex and exiting enough for me to buy a bottle, but so pleasurable that this isn't my last wearing. Evening update on the performance: This is not a screamer, and I believe that is a good thing. It would be weird if this would overpower the fish dish I was eating for dinner. About the longevity, I'm pleasantly surprised. It sits close to the skin without loosing any elements for a really long time!

I have a sample which I love. I feel like it is the gourmand that nest describes what I want to smell like, it is a delicious scent but calm and sophisticated. It feels calm because there is alot of milk, and then the smell of the biscuit here in particular feels so sophisticated because its not really sweet, yet still playful because it is a yummy biscuit. It could be signature for me. But unfortunately the longevity is appalling and I could never justify the price of a full bottle. I mean the scent is gone, not reduced, gone in 30 minutes. But I have found Tubbees Cookies and Cream which has the closest style to this, and Eclaire which is also like this but leans much more into sweetness and less of the biscuit being the main focus, with added loads of honey and caramel and also hint of floweriness . Eclaire is inspired by a different DNA (Bianco Latte) but I feel it has leaned into milkiness more than the OG and has a slight cookies feel and in that regard it feels similar to this. But Tubbees Cookies and Cream comes closest to this kind of biscuit in milk style that does not lean on the sweetness but on the dimension of the biscuit, and I will recommend it for those looking for others in this style!

This is my all time favorite fragrance, by far. Been my signature fragrance since I got my hands on it. It's the most delicious scent of cookie, vanilla, subtle caramel and the creamiest milk. It's everything in a perfect cookie (minus the chocolate chips). The scent feels warm and cozy without being overtly so- it's still light feeling, not obnoxious or nothin. It's gotten me so many compliments. Sweet scents can sometimes get mixed reactions, but this smells so good most people can't help but react well in most cases i suppose. The first time i wore this and met up with my boyfriend, he told me i smelled good enough to take a bite of. Although, that's kind of my goal with any fragrance personally. (lol) Lasts forever on clothes (until you wash them tbh). On the skin it's 1-2 hrs i'd say, and same for the hair. If you want it to last, put it on your clothes, it's worth it, trust. Sillage is pretty intimate, but i think it's better that way personally. The fragrance itself is pretty sweet and innocent smelling for a lack of better words, so i don't think it would make sense for it to be super intense. The best of the best.

Delicious, but is literally just a whisper. It smells like butter cookies with toasted almond, or biscotti. Scent-wise, it's in the same vein as Bianco Latte, but Lait de Biscuit is less dense, less play-dohy, and more natural smelling/feeling. The performance is confusing tho. I can catch tiny whiffs in the air sometimes, but when I want more and go to sniff my wrist, I can still barely smell it. I think this is one that NEEDS heat for it to bloom. However, the scent is suitable for any type of weather. I blind bought a full bottle, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep this one. It smells lovely, but I can barely tell it's there... and it honestly leaves me feeling kinda blueballed (and I don't have any). When I first got it, I thought I might've received a returned item that another person had filled with it alcohol/water and sent back. It wasn't until I read further down that I realized that's just how the performance is 😭. Currently, the Bianco Latte I sprayed 3 days ago on my shirt is louder than the LdB I JUST sprayed on my skin and sweater. I'll keep it for a week, and if it doesn't get better, I'm sending it back.

jarroditshallbe described this scent perfectly. It’s soft, sugary baking flour. Smells just like baking cookies, ingredients everywhere (flour, sugar, milk, butter). I personally don't get any caramel whatsoever. It smells like real cane sugar, but not overly sweet cane sugar because it has been mixed in with lots of flour. I could see some people interpreting this as biscoff cookies, but to me it’s more classic chocolate chip. It is very subtle. I anticipate needing to overspray when I wear it. I’ll probably get the one ounce so I can keep it in my purse for reapplication. I am MAJORLY impressed by this fragrance. It is a genuine LOVE & I have added to my wishlist (I intentionally have a smaller, curated collection, so that means a lot considering how much I sample). I would love to be known by such a sweet comforting scent. Completely non offensive since it has no spice or anything overly strong or complex. I don't imagine anyone would dislike this on another person. Lait de Biscuit is PERFECT.

Yes to Nilla Wafers. After sitting on my skin a bit, it starts to smell more like those grocery store sugar cookies with the thick frosting and the sprinkles on top that would always appear at class parties (Americans will know). The cookies look much better than they taste, but I think they smell fantastic. Lait de Biscuit is super slept on in the gourmand frenzy. It's the best warm weather gourmand I've ever experienced, managing to smell even better in the heat. Does it veer a touch into playdoh territory? Maybe, but as someone who's not normally a fan, it doesn't bother me at all. Just good vanilla cookie. This really isn't that weak. It is an EDT so you can spray 4-6 times and get a decent cloud going, without it becoming bothersome or headache inducing. While I think many exaggerate the importance of spraying a perfume vs dabbing or rolling it on, I did indeed notice improved performance here from using the atomizer. It also gets stronger as it turns brown.

Edit: ok so I applied a little more behind my ears just before writing this review (originally only had it on my wrists/elbows). Now that I'm fully in the drydown, I leaned down to pick something up and came back up into my scent cloud. I take everything back, it's worth every penny. This shit smells fucking amazing. -------------------------------------------- This is a "better than skin" scent for sure. I barely smelled it upon initial application, and only then did I get a tiny bit of that playdoh vibe. In the drydown, I get a really pretty light butter cookie smell. A little caramel comes through, but it's mostly vanilla biscuit with butter and some milk. I think it's super nice, and because it's such a light scent you can really control how much/little you project upon application. It's going on my list to purchase a bottle, but I think the price is too high unless you're buying at a discount/on a grey site.

This fragrance reminds me of Farley's Rusks in the best possible way and I'm here for it. It makes me think of my daughters when they were babies, still taking milk, but being weaned. Cream a Rusk up in warm milk for your baby to eat and this is the smell of Lait de Biscuit. I love it. My daughters love it. It brings about laughter and group hugs, even with my eldest who is nearly 30. Haha! Longevity is not the greatest and silage is intimate to moderate, but I think that's probably about the right dose for a fragrance like this.

Love, love, love this one A buttery ginger biscuit platter you eat as a child on Christmas day, while playing with your favorite dolls (that kind of smelled like play dough and vanilla). A very touching scent, very personal and intimate to me, which makes it unique in my eyes. If I buy a full bottle (which I want to), I would be wearing it all winter season. This scent is for the girls that want to give off an image of being pure, sweet and approachable. Girls with a soft aesthetic and a sweet spot for Christmas time.

I literally LOVE that perfume !! smells like real sweet biscuits and the milk add that creamy and cute note, so nostalgic and good. I'm just disappointed by the longevity and the sillage especially... It's like a skin scent and has a projection of a body lotion, I'm happy it smells so good that I can half forgive these two, but for the price it's way too important. So... for now, I will not change my mind yet and stick with the samples, because I think it's worth to sample it at least !

not the biggest fan of gourmand scents but this is the most beautiful and light cookie gourmand i've ever tried. it's simply milk and caramel cookies but its done so well <3 this is a super light scent so its not going to be projecting much nor will it last all that long but its a real treat during the time that it lasts. if youre a fan of gourmands but don't want a scent thats too heavy and cloying, this is such a good pick

I love this. Powdery, dry vanilla with a slight lactonic vibe. Add on crumbled, caramelly shortbread cookies, and that's Lait de Biscuit. Sillage is pretty close to the skin, but you'll be sniffing your wrist the whole time anyway. It's a really cozy, comforting vanilla. Can't say much for longevity because I haven't tested it for a full day, but I applied two hours ago and it's still at 100% on my wrist.

Warm and sweet, reminiscent of buttery shortbread cookies with a rich vanilla scent. The caramel sweetness transitions into a high-quality vanilla extract and then fades into a soft skin scent. More suited for cold weather and occasional wear. Not ideal for everyday use. Good for those who love gourmand scents, but not as a daily go-to. A great addition to a collection of cozy and sweet fragrances.

The perfect gourmand vanilla. Smells exactly like warm milk and vanilla biscuits/cookies. Soft, simple and comforting. Perfect for cosy winter nights at home. I use it on my homewear and nightwear and it lasts for days. Compared to many of the 'This reminds me of', reasonably priced - also available in 30ml/1.014 fl.oz.. Ages beautifully becoming only stronger in vanilla. Should be much more hyped.

Delish. Similar to Al Rehab Choco Musk, but much more soft and refined instead of sharp and chemically. It also lasts a couple of days in my hair, on my skin not so much. Very cute and cozy bedtime feeling-pretty type of scent, I wouldn't wear it out, it's a bit too realistic. For going out I prefer Bianco Latte or Chocolate Greedy, something a bit more bold. This is just for me to enjoy. ❤️

Lu biscuits dipped in warm vanilla milk.... Need I say more ? It morphs with the scent of my skin perfectly, it’s definitely a « your skin but better » scent (at least for me haha) It’s not very strong, people around you won’t be able to smell it, but it’s totally worth having it just to put your nose on your arm and inhale like there’s no tomorrow. I love it!

Oh so comforting. So far this is one of my top lactonic vanillas, up there with Chantilly by DSH. This has replaced my Philosophy Fresh Cream, because of the added biscuit note. It reminds me of those Nilla Wafer cookies. Nostalgic and cozy, and doesn't go too sweet or too creamy. Very happy to add this to my growing collection of gourmands with carbs!!

Just put a vanilla biscuit/cookie right by your nostril and inhale- this is a photorealistic scent of an actual vanilla biscuit. Not much to add, a delight for a gourmand scent lover, if you are not, do not go near it- it`s just pretty much a smell of a food item, not an interpretation or a vision of what it could be- it just is what it says :)
