Lait de Vanille

What a yummy marshmallow-y caramel vanilla!! I fell in love upon first spray of Lait de Vanille. I love the caramel note as it gives it that sweetness that I look for in my vanilla perfumes. My top favorite vanilla perfumes for reference are Mazzolari Vaniglia, St Barth Vanille West Indies, Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmande, and Jousset Accident a la Vanille. Lait de Vanille sits closer to the skin on me and lasts a good three hours or so, so I like to wear this when I get out of the shower and to bed as it is very comforting. I appreciate that it is not a huge projector as it would get pretty cloying if it was. The bottle is elegant and classy, and is gorgeous displayed on my vanity. This is what I imagine a fairy princess would smell like. Edit: I decided to wear Lait De Vanille last night and sprayed five sprays and it gave me a yummy scent bubble for about five hours and then started sitting closer to the skin. This is one of the best smelling vanilla perfumes in my entire collection and it's one that I will repurchase for sure! Edit#2 (5/30/23): Had to stop and post another update because when I wear Lait De Vanille now it lasts all day on me!! It seems to have gotten stronger the longer I've had it. Also my husband said it smells like cake batter, yum! And I agree!! Absolutely love this perfume!! Pair this with Cocoapink Cotton Candy Dreams and thank me later ;)

My favorite vanilla fragrance. This is so sweet and gourmand. I can understand why some may not like it. Some people say this smells like playdough, some might say it reminds them of candle wax. I understand these sentiments because I get a little plastic and almost fake scent when I first spray this on my skin. After an hour or two, all I get is a milky vanilla and delicious caramel fragrance. This smells better when you let it sit on your skin for a couple of hours. Lait de Vanille is one of my more long lasting fragrances. I could spray this on my wrist at 07:00, and still smell it at 21:00. Literally lasts an entire day. Perfect for autumn and winter. Bought my bottle in February, and it smells better today than it did when I first got it.

Love love love! So warm, bakery-sweet and long lasting, despite being an EDT. The bottle is gorgeous too, and is at an excellent price point for being niche. The vanilla here is light, airy, translucent....I in no way mean it's not noticeable, it is definitely the main attraction... it's just light, as if floating on a cloud, effervescent, like something Jean-Claude Ellena would make if he worked for Chabaud. I don't get any buttery tones, it's not smothered in cream, not heavy at all. It's kind of like the steam coming from a hot milky tea - floating on air, a fresh sweet vanilla.

This perfume is a huge compliment magnet! My boyfriend loves it, my colleagues love it, people I walk past love it, even my doctor loves it, and one day, the mailman told me I smelled lovely as I walked by. It has an incredibly good scent – a sweet, elegant vanilla with a hint of creaminess, just pure delight. It doesn’t smell synthetic at all. This is one of my absolute favorite perfumes, and I always make sure to have a backup before I run out

On me this smells good. I get a sweet, dessert like vanilla scent that doesn't smell synthetic. I tried it first in the store when the sales representative asked what I was looking for and I said I want to smell like a cookie, just pure cookie, no floral, and this was that. It's an intimate fragrance without a strong projection and it doesn't last super long but it smells lovely and pairs well with other vanilla body care products.

This smells so light and soft and sweet. At first spray, I thought it smelled kinda like cherry vanilla coke, as it sits it's the perfect vanilla bean smell. Not much sillage at all but this means you won't choke someone out with it

this one ages really well! update 2025...newer batches are sweeter and fluffier and less lactonic...i wonder if they will still age to be as rich and vanilla essence smelling as the older ones (my original bottles were pre 2020).

So sweet and so good. I really like it but I’m also afraid bee’s gonna come attack me lol. And the vanilla here smells more like food not perfume.

An absolutely beautiful gourmand delight, linear and beautiful to the end. Great sillage and longevity, too. Reminds me of FSSA Cara.

Blind buy dry down smells amazing. Smells like vanilla and marshmallows. Not overly sweet or sticky. Perfectly balanced

I really like this fragrance. Its powdery, sweet and almondy vanilla. I find the vanilla smell to be natural and sweet but not too sweet, which is perfect. People say it has playdoh undertone which I am smelling too. Vanilla is noticeable at first and then sillage is mainly playdoh. This playdoh is actually almond. I love this mixture and almond gives the perfume this chic, elegant story, rather that focusing on oversweet vanilla like in for example vanilla pod by ariana. This fragrace is just very very nice. Chabaud Maison tends to make very sweet fragrances, but this one is well balanced between sweet and not too sweet. Comfortable and warm. Perfect for both winter and summer. I am headache prone but this one didnt give me that. Its also good for layering! I layer it with coconut spray from the body shop or with commodity milk. So either you can make it tropical or even more cozy and warm with adding some wood-notes. Have fun with it guys!

This was not a "love at first smell" for me, and I'm still undecided. I was underwhelmed by Lait De Vanille initially. You're immediately hit with the generic scent of cheap waxy vanilla candle. BUT THE DRY DOWN!!! After a few hours of settling into my skin and clothes, Lait de Vanille blossomed into a delicious and deeply comforting scent. The dry down smells extremely warm, almost smokey..Like burnt sugar, hot milk, spices, browned butter, and caramel. Addictive, and it's subtle too. Lait de Vanille is a puzzling perfume for sure! Unsure if consider it worth the price.. as of right now I can't see myself buying a full bottle.. I am tempted to purchace a small decanter though!

Amazing milky vanilla caramel. One of the best vanillas I've experienced. Gourmand lovers fear not with this one. Try it out, and you will thank me later Edit: the sample I used was a lot more milky, and the sweetness toned down. However from the bottle it is Very sweet and has a very strong cookie dough accord. The milkiness i experienced with the sample comes out more within the latter part of the fragrance life. I still think its a great vanilla caramel fragrance, just not as in love with it as I was with the sample.

It's called Lait de Vanille so why isn't milk a listed note? Opens with warmed sweetened milk with vanilla, like a custard before the eggs are added and baked, then fades away to generic sweetness on my skin. Sometimes I'm reminded of that babydoll's head smell. Comforting but stays very very close to my skin, lasting an hour tops. I've been using this to scent my bed linens during the autumn instead of using as a day scent as I'd hoped. 6+hours later: nothing is left. Completely disappeared within 2 hours.

I feel the same as commonsense...smells like vanilla candle with a bowl of milky cereal mext to it... I'm not sure how to feel about this... I think it would layer well ...but alone ... I can't. Update 7/1 I've let this sit for a few months and it's gotten so much better...now I can smell the delicious caramel, the caramel is like a dulce de Leche, and it's still a bit waxy. I still wouldn't wear this alone, unless it's bedtime.....it's beautiful layered with other fragrances...so glad I kept it.

On initial spray it was milk and cookies - super cosy scent when it is cold outside but you are inside a warm home and lazily resting on your coach and savouring milk with cookies guilt free:). After a while this turn into caramel milk and stays that way till the end. Lovely, comforting, when you miss a hug from your mom but you are far away from her this may comfort you so good. A strong like for the soothing, comforting feel because it`s worth it.

Lait et vanille has this strange superpower being cloying and intimate at the same time. Bravo I guess? Something I never experienced before. You’ll pick up those yummy gourmand notes, but if you do like loud gourmands this probably isn’t for you. It sits close to the skin and it becomes quite fleeting after just a couple of hours. If Bianco latte is the popular, loud big sister, lait et vanille is the more shy but more elegant little sister.

Lait de Vanille smells like grounded vanilla powder - the kind you use for baking. Before the ingredients are mixed together. Edible and realistic. No coconut, caramel or cookie-vibes. I like how powdery it is, especially when wearing it in winter. In the summerheat I’ve noticed some lactonic notes that’s a bit off putting though. It smells good layered with Casamorati Italica or something heavy on the cherries like Black Opium Over Red.

Back with an update.. Definitely on the sweeter side of things. Reminds me of Tihota by Indolt but with added caramel. The opening may be a taad harsh, but dry down is really nice. Performs really well for an EDT. Projection is pretty loud in the first 2hours give or take, but lasts on skin for a really long time after that. Well in to the 6-8 hours. Definitely one to check out if you like sweet, vanillic caramel fragrances!

Sweet, warm vanilla with a note of what I think for some people is reading as the almond/cherry undertone and for others as playdoh, lol. I get the playdoh for the first 30 minutes or so, and then it morphs into the more enjoyable almond. I actually like it more the longer its on but it does have that slight waxy candle quality so many vanillas can't seem to escape. Overall, a nice gourmand but not mindblowing.

Wow, not a single review, that's interesting. The scent is so strongly edible, I kind of think it's weird. It's like caramel syrup mixed with vanilla. Literally smells like bakery product. It's not even like those cotton candy like scents, it's on the new level! Unbelievably sweet and edible scent! It's listed as unisex, but I don't think it's suitable for men.

Vanilla and caramel, very simple and straightforward. A little bit lactonic. Unlike others, I don’t get any almond, cherry, play doh, smoke, burnt sugar, spices, cookie, or browned butter. It’s good but there are better, more complex vanilla scents out there; Eclaire, Sweet Tooth, and Vaniglia Dreams come to mind, and all much cheaper.

For the majority of the time, Lait de Vanille was just plain awful. Cheap, dry, and scratchy vanilla. However, the drydown is AMAZING. It's like a very sweet soy vanilla drink. I may be the minority here but longitivity and sillage was amazing on my dry skin. Sprayed it 12 hours ago and it's still going strong!

This is a very interesting vanilla, there is something in it though that Is not mentioned in the mix of ingredients... the dry down smells wonderfull but most like a vanilla candle ...I recommend for those in search of a different type of vanilla. Still it is not the perfect one Im looking for.

Opening smells like hot milk with honey, I'm surprised that honey isn't listed here! There is also a nice smoky note detectable. After a few hours it becomes a bit flat, but very comforting - mostly a sweet powdery vanilla smell. I like this one.

It kind of reminds me of la vie est belle. Very pleasant crowd pleasing smell, but not really a gourmand as I was looking for.

Lait de Biscuit is the way to go if you want a vanilla forward fragrance from chabaud. skip this one, reminds me of a candle.

SO good. Sweet, but not cloying. Milky, but not overpowering. The benzoin makes the vanilla extract smell real. Love it

Easy reach, sweet vanilla, but light and short lived.

Lait de Vanille isn’t quite what you might expect if you’re hoping for something along the lines of Bianco Latte, under the "reminds me of" section. Let's be clear—no comforting, creamy milkiness here. This is a smoky vanilla powder, moistened a little and a tad clumped, with no trace of caramel, instead a delicate whisper of extra fine sugar. Unlike Lait Concentre of the same family, which bathes you in a rich, milky embrace, Lait de Vanille almost leaves out the Lait entirely, not strong in lactonic quality. It doesn’t even carry the same vanilla-forward sweetness you’d expect; in fact, there's less vanilla in here as compared to its default milk counterpart, which simply feels wrong. It's more a chalky, warm impression of something sweet, a faint trace of vanilla in a room that’s been dusted too many times. It’s sweet, yes, but in an almost offbeat way—less the real thing, more recreation-based-off-memory.

A Soft perfume milky vanilla like with a touch of almond/cherry. Innocent. Not mind blowing, fine for bedtime. Nb : the bottle is a nightmare, the « cabochon » are difficult to opening... I put some oil in it for help, its fine now.

For me this would be an excellent house spray or a candle scent. But it's just not a perfume scent unless you want to smell like a something and not like a someone... if that makes any sense. It's just not good as a perfume.

Vanilla candle. VERY waxy and not at all like my beloved Bianco Latte and Madera. Those fragrances are smooth and rich--sweet in the way you want a perfume to be. This is like you rubbed yourself with a candle.

Lait de Vanille smells a bit burned to my nose. Like burned sugar. Least favorite of the travel kit I bought. The best one is the chocolate one. I might buy a bottle of that one.

vanilla and milk powder mixed, which i thought i'd like more but there's a certain depth that's missing with this fragrance. in a world of creamy vanillas, this is not the one.

This is really light and close to the skin on me. It's a decent scent but I prefer something with a little more oomph.

Out of all CMDP milk/Lait range this one is probably the least appealing to me. That is not to say it is bad, I can appreciate the caramel-cinnamon vibe and the floral vanilla, but there is this sour note that is out of place. I think the same happened wth Xerjoff Lira where they mixed confectionary stuff with inedible stuff plus this strange sour note which (to me) ruined both the gourmand side of it and the inedible side. Whereas CMDP Lait concentre or Lait et Chocolat you just want to inhale it and live in it forever, this one I feel like washing off my skin, especially because that annoying sour note is growing stronger. That`s a no for me.

I really wanted to like this but sadly I get a synthetic vanilla candle smell especially in the first hour of applying. It doesn’t smell like a perfume it smells like a home fragrance oil or candle melt. By the time it had a decent dry down and it started smelling more palatable it was gone, I could barely smell it on my skin and faintly on my clothes. I’m glad I only purchased a sample bottle.

I love vanilla based scents but Lait de Vanille is not working for me. The reviewer directly below me mentions candle wax, and that’s what it smells like on me too. I’m wondering if this is due to being from a different batch? My sample is fresh and direct from Luckyscent. Disappointing.

Sadly this one didn't work for me. Maybe the milk didn't go well on my skin. What came to mind when I first smelt it was a baby grow that had milk on it, worn all night, with a wet, overnight nappy.

Lait de Vanille is on the lighter side, but I could smell it for the 8+ hours that I wore it. The scent itself is very odd. Not quite Play-Doh, but something is off.

A very basic vanilla. It's synthetic, I get no milk note - just synthetic vanilla. Whoever compared it to a dollar tree vanilla candle is spot on.

i think lait et chocolat slaps but this was just vanilla glade plugin for me. someone else said dollar store vanilla candle and i completely agree

Agreeing with the cherry chapstick scent. This is my least favorite from the "lait de" line.
