Patchouli 1973

My Moto, If I don't have it from 10ml upwards, I ain't got it. I tried a sample of this, tested in August 2020 in Greece with the super sunshine and heat. Gain plenty complements and this Fragrance is long lasting. Extremely bottle worthy probably the freshest main Patchouli based fragrance I know of.

Agree that it smells a little old school, which isn't bad. It's in the whelm of KL, Fendi and Cinnabar. I happen to like classics! So, I would buy this! :))

This fragrance doesn't scream patchouli or smell like a 70s-inspired fragrance, but it doesn't mean it's a bad fragrance, far from that. It's an excellent ambery oriental with good projection and staying power. To my nose, it's like l'artisan parfumeur's ambre extreme with oranges in the opening and a bit of patchouli in the dry-down. Beautiful, long-lasting and will get you lots of compliments. Recommended.

For the first few seconds Patchouli 1973 almost has an organic/herbal cola vibe, then it becomes quite medicinal and tincture-like. There’s something fresh and allmost fizzy about it, it’s unique and I think some people might be able to pull it off. I’m all about powdery scents, which this absolutely isn’t. It’s alright though, photorealistic patchouli, very similar to essential oil of patchouli with a bit of cinnamon sprinkled on top. After a few hours it becomes an almost smoky incense-patchouli fragrance. At this point I get the 70's vibe, it's vintage and very mature. More suitable for 40+ and old souls I'd say.

Oh man, within three minutes of trying this on, I thought was going to get a new patchouli perfume! Those three minutes were like Heaven. Spicy feminine leaning patchouli. But then came an odd note, or maybe accord, that took it to a men's fougere/cologne smell. That lasted about 25 minutes before more patchouli came forward and started to mute the cologne smell, which gave me hope. But nope, it was not to be, because after another 20 minutes, the cologne smell came back to stay and lasted the entirety of the fragrance.

I only tried this because it was the last sample in the Chabaud kit haha. I'm not a fan of Patchouli, so I didn't have high hopes. However, it started out kind of captivating. I was surprised. I was never going to love it, no, but I thought I might've found the nicest-to-my-nose version of patchouli. After a few minutes, though, it started to give off that tell-tale medicinal energy that always makes me run from this note. Too bad!

Very old-fashioned, heavy amber, geranium and sandalwood. Prominent musk and medicinal patchouli. I am not a fan of such old fashioned/medicinal stuff but I can appreciate a good work.

FIRST IMPRESSION: aw i hate patchouli. such a toilet air freshener note. i do get mainly the patchouli i can recognize that for sure. sharp green in a way, very aromatic. herbal. this one shares the dna ambery base with others from the house. this scent doesn’t have any depth to me. it’s not interesting to me and i have no urge to sniff it. i wouldn’t want to be associated with such scent. if a person would wear it (rather than a place) it would be a very mature one. old men scent but not in a comforting way. that would be a relative i have no intention to get a hug from. FEW HOURS LATER... nothing changed. it’s just weaker now but the patchouli core is still there, annoying me. 28/100

If deep red velvet could have a scent... This is a great fragrance. No 70s so much and not even a traditional patchouli scent. This is a warm, ambery, tasty, powdery, elegant, light spiced scent with gourmand sides. Wrong name, here the patchouli is clean, transparent, not the main note but plays into a chorus with the other elements. Reminds me more the end of 80s first 90s as fragrance. Make me think to Passion for Men by Elizabeth Taylor and Ungaro pour homme II. A really good and simple joy for the nose.

To me it is patchouli, musk, animalic, leather, honey and vetiver. It is half way between African Leather (Memo Paris) and Camel (Zoologist Perfumes). Camel beeing the most animalic . My favourite is African leather. The musk and animalic part of Patchouli 1973 can be felt in the opening and the mid. The drydown is smoother. Leaning gourmand.

Orange, cinnamon, geranium, sandalwood. I used to wear L'Eau by Diptyque, and this reminds me of that, except this smells more dusty-woody, sweet to L'Eau's fresh-spicy. Enjoying this one for fall.
