Vert d'Eau

I'm surprised at how divisive this one is. But perfume really does smell different on everyone, so yeah. For me, this is what I had hoped Acqua di Parma's citrusy perfumes would smell like, but never do. The first few minutes are a pure green burst. It's somewhat intense, but I found it refreshing. After some time, though, it mellows out to more of a calm, figgy, but still bright citrus scent. I'd need to wear it a bit more this spring/summer to see if it's totally for me, but it's definitely in the running. EDIT: Back again. Tried it again. This is even prettier than I remembered. I also hadn't remembered how soapy the dry down was, which is something I enjoy. Despite the longevity being a bit wanting, I went full-bottle on this one. Will be wearing it all summer.

This is a true fig leaf fragrance. It starts off a bit fruity w/ lemon and orange greeting the nose but those quickly fade to the background to reveal a lovely green and milky fig leaf. There are some lovely white spring flowering trees that combine w/ the fig and the crisp fruitiness of the lemon and orange. Sweetness from peach is there. This would be lovely to wear in hot summer weather. You would feel fresh, green, clean, sweet, floral, and a bit musky. Unisex, a man could wear this. I am really liking this and may have to check out more from this line. Very fresh and a very milky green fig leaf smell.

I’m picking up the green aspects if this scent, but no fruit or wood notes. Maybe a little floral? Even if this is 100% synthetic, I still find it oddly appealing. Just don’t go into this because if the notes. I’m looking forward to wearing this in warmer weather. For now a like.

A very strong fragrance, the citrus is overwhelmed by the green. It reminds me very much of AdP's "Arancia di Capri", even down to the green bell pepper impression

FIRST IMPRESSION: so boringly fresh. smells like a generic body wash. it is a blue scent, on the line between citrusy-sweet to citrusy-sour. kinda like grapefuit is. reminds me of diet grapefruit soda. it is a little soapy. it does smell clean, a little bathroom-y tho. like hard soap. it is typical men's fresh scent and pretty basic one at that. it has no quirk to it, nor anything unique. most likely it is a smell anyone has encountered sometime at some restaurant/hotel's toilet. smells like a lobby of a nice hotel on a vacation.

Greenery, a bit of citrus and white flowers on the cotton/clean towels side. Can`t smell much cedar, but the fig leaf is very obvious which is a bit too much for me personally. The peach is quite artificial, chemical and flat which is exactly why I hated Tom Ford`s Bitter peach. I agree with the previous comments- although the notes are supposed to be likeable, the whole impression is that it`s executed kind of roughly. It is artificial to the point that it resembles a cheap air freshener especially after a few minutes.

Tried as part of the Chabaud discovery set. One of my favorites from the brand. Crisp and leafy, with fig leaf and citrus giving it a bright, green freshness. The cedar in the base adds a clean, woody elegance. Very refreshing, though it leans a bit too masculine for my personal taste.

At first, a gleaming burst of lemon, so bright, zesty and pulpy, followed by fig—not the creamy, sun-ripened kind, but its greener, sharper version. There’s a crispness to it, a clean vegetal snap, airy, fresh, cutting through with the shimmer of dewy fig leaf and white lilies. For this fleeting moment, it’s lovely. But then... SOAP JUMPSCARE. The common culprit of scrubbed neroli swirls up, turning that green freshness into something sterile, soapy in a way that clings, that overpowers, that drowns out all the beautiful brightness from before in bubbles and bubbles of hand wash. What started as a breeze becomes a lather, and suddenly, it’s less a scent and more the lingering remains of stubborn bar soap.

This is a fizzly one. Opens with a strange combination of fig leaf, peach and citrus. It's like a men's citrus cologne (fig leaf, citrus, wood) but then mixed with Garnier Fructis shampoo (peach, white florals). This would have been nice as two seperate fragrances, I can't make sense of the combination. Drydown fizzles out the florals, it's fruity and woody. I doesn't smell bad per se, could make sense as a man's summer scent. The combination is unique, kinda like 'Fructis for men'-ish.

Oh no, what is this?! My first emotions about this one. It's so strongly green, it's purely fig leaf and it's no good. Smells like poison to me and I don't mean Dior's perfume. A big no.

I need to open this review by saying that lemon-centric perfumes have never been a favourite of mine, so my thoughts will be slightly biased. Vert d'Eau opens fresh and lemony, unfortunately reminding me of run-of-the-mill air-freshener. It smells like someone took a handful of lemon zest, dumped it in ice-cold water, gave it a good shake and then threw it over you, which depending on your preferences, could be either a good or bad thing (the association with air freshener made it more of a bad thing for me, personally). Fortunately, I get a blast of mandarins and its leaves barely 3 minutes after application, so that helped deviate a little from the initial blast of lemon-flavoured water. I pick up a clean white floral too. As it wore on, it became more floral and a tad less citric, like a pleasant spring/summertime breeze. It felt like you had your nose in a pot of white blossoms, breathing in the flowers and the leaves, with a bowl of oranges by your side. Not bad at all. Very airy, light, and unobtrusive. And it just keeps getting more floral! As it wore on, somewhere into the 3rd hour, it developed a slightly fruity feel to it. It wasn't a specific fruit note, but it just freshened it up a bit more and made it more sunshiny. It remained like this all the way till the end of wear. Overall, I wasn't very impressed. It seemed to be like a very office-safe scent that is citric and floral. Yes, it's uplifting, and yes, I'm glad I stuck on pass the air-freshener opening, but this isn't a game-changer for me. It sat rather close to the skin, and lasted around 5 hours on me.

Cheap, synthetic abhorrence. Citrus? No! Fig leaf? No! Smells very rushed, unbalanced and poorly executed. Do not blind buy based on notes as you WILL be disappointed. I got this very cheap from the UK distributor but if your thinking of paying £80 full retail... DON'T!! So many marvellous citrus/fig frags out there at all price points that DO accurately reflect the notes they list..go for one of them and forget this abomination exists.

Hmm, soapy mandarin combined with a medley of green elements, though the green notes are rather indistinct and difficult to single out. They seem to blend nuances such as lily of the valley, matcha tea, basil, petitgrain, and fig leaf. Overall, it has a loud, shampoo-like quality that comes off as cheap. While I'm not a fan, it remains tolerable and wearable.

Well this is a more likeable cousin of Chanel Cristalle. It’s just as green but much brighter version which is more uplifting to wear I have both but I reach for this much more , it’s joyous.

Very green and leafy. Fresh. Smells like air freshener to me, more masculine than feminine. I didn't detect any of the fruity notes. Pretty flat. Disappears into white flowers.

More wearable version of diptyque l’ombre dans l’eau . Still unpleasant to my nose though.
