555 Cologne

Growing up Egyptian, this cologne was a national saviour. I remember being convinced that my great-grandma had an actual obsession with this. It smells like you've just had a very long party and hired someone to clean it in the morning, ridiculously clean and almost absurdly fresh. This was used for anything you can imagine: Medicine (if you're sick she would spray it under your nose, forehead, and neck- almost like vapour rub), after shave, antiseptic when any of us got cuts, etc. It smells horrible, in a great way. You'll find it's one of those scents that won't make you gag, you'll never ever forget- but for all the wrong reasons. I am personally planning on buying a bottle or two next time I go back home because I really miss my Anna.

Like every Egyptian, I grew up with this around. It was THE cologne. It was there for everything: aftershave, sanitizer, antiseptic ... you name it. It is basically lots of alcohol with lime, for very cheap. It gives such a refreshing kick; a few sprays and you wake up. I keep buying it for nostalgic reasons, but it's such a refreshment. It used to be better back in the old days when they sold it in glass bottles as a splash. Now it is available in ridiculous plastic bottles with sprayers. It lost some of the sweetness and warmth of the old days, but it is still refreshing and absolutely lovable. If you come to Egypt, make sure to try it. It's in all drugstores and markets basically for $1 a bottle of 200ml. What a bargain!

I used to hate this cologne from my gut but I came around. As all reviewers mentioned this was a household staple in Egypt, being cheap and coming in large volumes. It was used as a cologne by the less affluent and as an aftershave and sanitizer for the more blessed. As a child I associated it with being ill. My mom would use it to reduce my temperature and to sanitize my skin before injections (she was a pediatrician). She would also use it to sanitize her hands and surfaces whenever anyone was sick, until I grew sick of the smell. Run forward some twenty years after I got married and barring it from my life. I got into the habit of collecting perfumes. Of course I had to try 4711 for all its history. My eyes got more round than they already are. Is this 555’s inspiration? 4711 has more neroli and a bit more green nuance to it, however, the resemblance is uncanny. To my surprise I liked it and found it very refreshing. I had to revisit 555 and I came to like it this time around. I don’t wear it as a perfume as it doesn’t last. But a splash is very refreshing after the shower on a hot morning. Energizing

At last this ICONIC Egyptian cologne is here :) ..I can easily verify that every Egyptian whether man or woman tried it at least once in his life ...Lots of people hate it , but truly some are addicted to it specially those who live outside Egypt ...So refreshing in hot weather , so useful for other purposes like cleaning skin or neck and ears , perfect after shave for men and for cleaning wounds ...This is just a staple in every Egyptian household .

putting this thing is a joke, as in wearing shorts and a shirt to a parliment meeting only that in this situation any situation is always the parliment meeting and this cologne is the shorts and shirt.

All Egyptians tried this cologne one way or another, it is very cheap and used more as a Sanitizer than a perfume, I would never go out wearing it.

Lemon Cologne... I picked this up whilst I was in Egypt, being half-Egyptian myself (and loving perfumes and fragrances) I decided to pick this up. So, the official writing here is "Lemon Cologne" on the bottle in Arabic, and I would say that I get a juicy lemon from this, which is dominant. I think this is totally unisex, because after the lemon comes dusty floral notes, like a potpourri of dried flowers and herbs etc. There is probably neroli and different various herbs, blossoms and lavender. I think it stays this way of a dusty, citrus (lemon) floral until after a few minutes it turns into a dusty, slightly floral musky base. After that it just fades on skin. What I would say is that it's very inexpensive and probably has more floral development than other eau de colognes, so I would recommend it because it's refreshing, can be worn at any time or season, and is somewhat inoffensive. One to splash on or spray on before going out, or throughout the day as a refresher. Not bad at all!

A great inexpensive, much loved, citrus cologne. Whenever I asked my Egyptian boyfriend to get me a bottle of this when he returned to Cairo to visit family he would say; "You know they use that stuff to EMBALM DEAD BODIES!" and I'd reply; "So what if they do! Get me some!" I love it as, for an Englishman like me, this is unlike anything available here and always reminds me of happy times in Egypt and my love for that country and its people.

Very shocked to see that chabrawchi is here on fragrantica. This is obviously a smell that i grew up with and was a must at the house of my grandma especially in the bathroom . We still use it as a sanitizer and works great, can’t forget how powerful the smell still is and refreshing it can get sometimes.

use it to freshen up the smell of your kitchen or bathroom but never on yourself. It's a heavy molecule scent that should not be used on a human flesh in my humble opinion
