Contre Ta Peau

This is lovely. It leans feminine, I am male, but I would definitely wear this because it is ... lovely. Billowy, powdery, airy, wispy, heavenly. In order from most dominant to most subtle notes/accords I smell ... white florals #1, a gentle white musk #2, vanilla #3, and subtle almond #4. I get no animalic undertones whatsoever, unless it is a cute bunny rabbit that you just gave a bath with Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. Projection and sillage are minimal. Longevity is average. This is a close to the vest, skin scent to wear for yourself. It is relaxing and comforting. It is my second favorite in the line, after Orencie. 9/10

When first sprayed it is a softer LDBS and I was a bit disappointed. It stays that way for about an hour, then after that hour, it transitions into such a beautiful scent. Soft, slightly powdery and sweet. I don't get the LDBS anymore thankfully, and I can't stop smelling my wrist! So so pretty!

Immediately got Kilian Love / Memo Sintra vibes. Sweet orange blossom. Beautiful.

This is sensual and heavenly. Smells like yearning, longing, lingering.

a delightful orange blossom and heliotrope musk, sweet with the sensation that is midway between soft new stuffed-animal fur and actual animal fur, like a kitten or Angora rabbit. It verges on boudoir but seems to remain in the powder room, at a vanity with globular lights surrounding a mirror and a pout in the reflection. It's all innocent, clean foreplay—the knickers are fresh out of the laundry. For some reason, I imagine this would be what Norma Desmond smells like when she says "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up" at the end of Sunset Boulevard. Sexy, right? Maybe I am just feeling a bit cynical as I examine this—it's wonderfully rendered, but I just think of how I am more moved by others in this vein like Musc de Sables, Teint de Neige, or even The Musc. That said, if I was offered a bottle, I wouldn't decline it. I'd wear the dickens out of it. Addendum: the dry down reminds me a lot of Helmut Lang EDC (God, do I adore that one).

The heilotrope + orange flower opening is lovely. It just puts a smile on your face. The vanilla is not sweet and I don't get the animalic notes at all. The petitgrain adds a bit of freshness later on. It's a sensual feminine scent through and through.

I swear this smells like is Blanche Bete and l’eau papier had a baby. Musky, creamy, cozy goodness

Sour pear on the opening, with an old-fashioned floral quality that settles quickly into something Pegasus-adjacent, creamy and almondy (heliotrope, as it turns out). Fitting for something called peau, a loose blouse in spring or summer, that's the move, very safe for work. But, an hour later it's gone, it needs more sprays and there's a linger (finally) but for an EDP at this pricepoint I expect more staying power. The formula is lovely when it's there. I just wish it would stay. 5/10

I thought I’d love this based on the notes but with this decant all I’m getting is playdough. It’s a soft powdery scent but not sure if I can get past that scent memory.

It smell like Oriana, but more sharp, like i smell a bad washing up liquid in the beggining. Its not bad, has a vintage feel to it, but its not my cup off tea.

The animalic vibe is extremely annoying

Yes, it’s orange blossom- but it’s not Sintra or LDBS. There’s zero marshmallow sweetness. The sweetness here is coming only from florals. This is more in line with a powdery OB like Courreges La Fille de L’air, or MFK APOM- it sits right in the middle of those two. O Feminin is airier and lighter, while Contre Ta Peau has more body and heft. I think this perfectly balanced between the petitgrain, neroli and orange blossom. The animal notes are barely there, but I can detect them with the musk in a very pleasant way- like a slight tanginess of freshly washed skin. I would not describe this as carnal. My favorite orange blossom is PDM Safanad because the powderiness is so subdued. Contre Ta Peau is more powdery and slightly sharper from the heliotrope, therefore I won’t be getting a full bottle of this. If you love orange blossom and powder, but don’t want full on soap this would be a perfect choice. I also love the bottle design- sleek, modern art deco vibes.

This reminds me of several Nerolie / Orange Blossoms that I have, with a different twist. The nerolie in Contre Ta Peau is beautiful with lots of Vanilla supporting it, where as LL Neroli 36 is stronger in aldehyde , BDK Villa Neroli has more indolic base and St. Germain Des Pres has more green top note. Still my fav in this Nerolie category is Tu Te Calmes for affordable pricing and stronger projection.

Lovely. Simple. Nothing new. I would have sworn this was a new les Exclusifs by Chanel if blindly put under my nose. Or a new rebatch of 1957. Those are lovely things to compare it to. But we have those already. Animalic? Not in the least. Next.

Non animalic per se, but sensual erotic smooth skin glistening with very sweet vanilla and neroli oil. Reminds me of the painting “Nude Girl on a Panther Skin 1844” by Felix Trutat; GOOGLE IT for an olfactive visual.

Oh, Steven Gontarski spoke very highly of this one. I'm very curious about it, plus, I’d like to say that I really like the bottle designs..🤍

Animalic being the predominant note worry me, how musky or carnal is this one?
