Soleil Tonka

I am writing this review as this is a new perfume and i would’ve wanted such info when i was debating whether to purchase it or not. I did test it in the store, but i wasn’t able to fully test its performance there because it’s a bit far away from where i live so i had to kind of buy it or wait for the next time i’ll be there. Little to say i fell in love with it despite trying 20 more gorgeous scents. I would say it’s a mix of Blanche Bête and Parisian Musc. I only own the latter, but i do smell some resemblance in the coconut, as it might overlap with the creamy fig accord. It’s addicting, it’s not overly sweet at all, it starts a tiny bit salty; the overall scent is that of a moisturized, warm and coconut&vanilla-y skin, while sunbathing at the beach, after stepping out of crystal clear turquoise water. It’s refined, rich, luxurious and it works amazing in the heat. I would say it’s at the border of a clean scent and a gourmand, specifically crafted for summer. It’s definitely a skin scent, but that doesn’t bother me at all. I can properly feel it for about 6 hours on skin, yet it still lingered in total for about 11-12 hours and sweetened my natural skin scent. It’s not groundbreaking, but i find it unique in it’s own way, considering the bottle design, the aesthetic, everything. It’s my new signature scent for the remainder of this summer. It’s perfect for daytime and even office friendly. Totally unisex and even a great choice for men that secretly like sweeter scents but are afraid to not be considered less masculine.

There's a midpoint in Blanche Bete that is undeniably ethereal, it evokes feelings of the gates of heaven opening while the sunshine is glowing beneath the clouds, but it's short-lived and BB just falls flat into an unbearable, musky, synthetic mess. Soliel Tonka smells exactly like that gorgeous midpoint in BB. The marriage of the vanilla, tonka and lactonic coconut give off that ever-popular glowy, creamy, sweet angelic vibe while still remaining sheer and ethereal. I get a slight beach-y feel... but it reminds me more of a winter beach day where you enjoy the rays of the sun and the cool salty breeze, but you still need a cozy sweater. Soliel Tonka is a 10/10 for me. I do not have any issues with longevity, especially when sprayed on clothes. I am shocked this is not more popular, but then again, I do not mind keeping this discovery under-wraps as it is truly signature scent worthy.

This smells like a day at the beach: the salty waves, the suntouched sweetness of skin, coconut sunscreen dancing in the air. This is a magnificent composition for those that like a sunscreen scent (which I do)! Its a lovely dry & airy coconut. Sweetened from the vanilla / tonka but not sugar sweet. Just light, airy and beachy. The salty note balances this out perfectly. Soleil Tonka gives off such a happy and sunny summer aura. On my skin, it really radiates and puts out a powerful bubble around you. Cant wait to add this to my collection! I got a sample of this based off Caroline Stern's review and she never lets me down Also wanted to add: I HATE Blanche Bete, I thought it was screechy, nasty, sharp & artificial. This to me is not comparable at all and blows BB out of the water

Just wow! What a gorgeous beachy, creamy, salty, and slightly yellowish-white floral summer fragrance! :D And yes, it really does smell like the older sister of Blanche Bête (2021). But to me it's more identical to The Beach (2023) by Zarkoperfume - just a bit sunnier and breezier. It opens very fresh and clean and quickly turns into a ripe and sweet coconut, but not in a sickening way thanks to the warm vanilla and tonka notes. The yellow and white floral notes which are not mentioned push it past the "just another sunscreen scent". Longevity is fine but becomes more a skin scent after the 3-4 hours.

Edna below is spot on: A softer, saltier version of Blanche Bête. I wear Soleil Tonka a little more, it’s subtlety makes it an “easy reach” but it does lack the power and longevity of Blanche Bête. It isn’t necessary to own both but due to my love of this particular DNA I see a place for each.

Blind bought this.... Okay so first thing I'll talk about is the longevity and projection. A single spray was abysmally weak. It's actually so weak that it was hard to even detect. However, this is such a linear scent that overspraying won't change the scent profile at all. In fact, I think this was meant to be a bottle that you have to overspray. Once I sprayed like 8 times on my whole forearm including double sprays in the same spot, the fragrance projected beautifully and I could smell it as I walked in the hot summer air. My wife asked me what I was wearing as soon as I stepped into the house, which was surprising as I thought the scent had already faded after just 3 hours. I didn't tell her what it was though, because this is supposed to be her birthday gift. As far as the actual smell, this thing is really nice. Despite the massive amounts of sprays, it smells transparent, airy, and very light. It's mostly coconut and vanilla with a slight saltiness. I can see why some people say it reminds them of sweat, but it's more so the sweat from skin that has been out in the ocean under the sun. It's a very sweet, skin-like musk accord that gives it that sweaty vibe. I wouldn't say this is all that similar to TF Soleil Blanc but they are both sunscreen-y scents. It really does remind you of the beach. I dont know if the fragrance is worth the price tbh EDIT: This is still going strong after 9 hours. I can detect it if I sniff my arm from a few inches away. I do think it's worth the price, I just think it's going to run out fast because it more so a body mist than a traditional EDP in the sense that you have to douse yourself in it.

I can see why lots of people are comparing this to Blanche Bete. To me it’s not as creamy as that... it’s like a sweeter, less peppery Vanilla Powder because the coconut is drier. I do find it to be very tropical on my skin. I think there are more notes than what’s listed on fragrantica. I can smell white and yellow florals, maybe gardenia and ylang ylang, and salt is definitely present in the opening and early mid. This is like Vanilla Powder or Blanche Bete with TF Soleil Blanc or HoB La Mar layered on top. This isn’t something I need in my collection at the moment because I already have a decent selection of tropical scents. But I will keep my sample to revisit and maybe purchase in the future. Love the bottle design.

Soleil Tonka is summer bottled. Creamy, lactonic, coconuty and softly vanilla-tinged, it effortlessly evokes warm skin, luxurious sunscreen and long days by the sea. What I appreciate most is its restraint: despite all those rich notes, it never becomes heavy or cloying. Instead, it remains airy, elegant and refined throughout. To my nose, this leans distinctly feminine, with a sophisticated softness that makes it feel more like an expensive summer fragrance than a typical beach scent. If you’re looking for a polished, sun-kissed perfume that captures the feeling of summer without overwhelming the senses, this is an excellent choice.

Fun, upscale beachy boat scent like others say. I don't know Blanche Bête, so can't speak to that comparison but to me it's also like Amouage Enclave minus the tobacco/leather. Together, they are fully luxury beach. Not a vibe I am into very often but I appreciate the tropical, transportive experience.

This is lovely, but it is blanche bete, her confession, montblanc signature..... so many that smell just exactly the same. Will I use up my sample? Yes. Will I buy a full bottle of this ? No

Unfortunately this doesn’t last more than 30 minutes on either skin or clothes no matter how much I apply. Very disappointing for this price point.

This smells exactly like Blanche Bette to me. I like that fragrance so I like this one, but they smell nearly identical on my skin.

Smells like Blanche Bete. Period.

A whole of hyper lactonic vanilla, coconut and solar notes. Even though it's true that it resembles Blanche Bête, this is less sugary and more grounded than that one. Instead of the floating cloud-like powdered sugar and white flowers in BB, here there's a beachy solar feel. This is going to be incredibly cliché, but I'll call this scent the baby of TF Soleil Blanc and BB. Because to describe what it resembles, this expression will work the most clearly (I prefer the mentioned perfumes separately). Tonka is here with all its character, its lactonic quality, its nutty quality... I'd say those who don't like this note should stay away, the note itself is even in the name. Some tonka ft. scents floating around the market can be more adorned with resins, in darker presentations, but here it's out in the open in all its nakedness. Something started bothering me towards the end, it gets more and more sour. I sensed this at the start too, but it grew even more towards the end. I don't usually have skin that turns things sour (yes, I fully believe in skin chemistry), but this is what happened regardless. Tag(s): tonka, sweet-ish, beachy, coco, sour

This is definitely a cleaner vanilla coconut scent, it sort of reminds me of milk orchid by commodity. It’s a little screechy, it doesn’t smell very smooth to my nose. It kinda smells like coconut body wash, I had higher expectations based off what everyone was saying but I think it just doesn’t mesh with my skin chemistry. If you’re looking for a very gourmand coconut vanilla I don’t think this is the one.

Hints of a floral that I cannot pinpoint, frangipani perhaps? Then solar notes, a hint of coconut, vanilla and tonka...but very much a "clean" scents. This gave me a headache that I usually only get from florals and soapy scents. I am very disappointed by this one..

Nothing special about it. It’s very basic imo. It has some floral notes not listed which is really off putting for me. Smells like white florals and coconut which is not what I wanted.

A sunscreen version of Blanche Bête

It reminds me of dried prunes cause of how sickeningly sweet it is. It smells really dirty which is kinda weird.

Why does it smell like pickley sandalwood to me?? Did I get the wrong sample somehow? :(

Very very salty, smells almost like sweat to my nose. The coconut mixes with the saltiness and it smells kind of dirty in a bad way. I don’t care for the scent combo, not a fan.

On my skin, the fragrance presents itself as a creamy blend. I noticed a similarity to both Blanche Bête and Parisian Musc, particularly in the creamy, almost fig like coconut accord. The comparisons to other fragrances like Blanche Bête are frequent, and while I agree there's a resemblance, I find this scent to be distinct in its own way. It's less of a milky floral and more of a solar, beachy scent. It's a pleasant fragrance, and while i wouldnt call it groundbreaking, the bottle design and brand aesthetic are noteworthy. For me it's a solid, wearable scent for the summer, suitable for daytime and even office environments. I purchased a sample of Soleil Tonka without having smelled Blanche Bete before, and really liked it. Just a lovely creamy, slightly coconutty scent. The dry down is soft but lasts forever, and the salt and ambery notes cuts through the vanilla and tonka and prevent it from going too headache-inducing gourmand. I was curious about all the comments comparing it to Blanche Bete so I did end up buying a sample, but they are not the same, at least on me. They may be of a similar family but Blanche Bete starts off as a strong jasmine and then gets very milky. There's also a weird soap note that's reminiscent of baby wipes. Of the two I definitely like Soleil Tonka better and am considering getting a FB.

This is what I hoped Soleil Blanc would smell like. This is by no means a unique formula, but for me, this is the 'best of' in its category of sunscreen-y, coconut-y fragrances balanced to perfection. There definitely seems to be more notes than the ones listed here, like a nice white floral, perhaps a tiare flower or jasmine, and the coconut makes it beautifully lactonic in the way of Blanche Bete without it being straight up milk. A great going out scent.

this is like the child of blanche bete and vanilla powder extrait. its a gorgeous and sunny white floral, tuberose and jasmine maybe? with toasted tonka and some dry coconut. its moderately sweet and feels like sunshine. i would love a full bottle but it feels unnecessary when i have vanilla power extrait and blanche bete. still absolutely beautiful though

Blanche Bette + Soleil Blanc had a baby = Soleil Tonka. I own bottles of both of these and that’s exactly what I get from Soleil Tonka. I purchased a 5 ml sample of Soleil Tonka and will give it full wear tests to see if I want a full bottle, but first test I can say she’s pretty but I’m not sure I need the this if I have both parents.

Softer, almost green version of Blanche Bete. Chewy coconut with a slight green salty touch that accentuates the sweetness. Evokes clean skin, beautiful face, and shopping sprees after a nice morning swim in the pool. Doesn’t smell tropical, isn’t floral, isn’t screech; it’s just a perfect light coconut musk.

Slightly more upscale version of Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco. I love the bottle of this and it’s beautiful but missing that X factor to drop double the money when there are a lot of Sephora sunscreen scents that get very, very close to this if we are being honest. It’s lovely though.

Maybe my nose is very different, but Blanche bete is one of my all time favorite fragrances and I don't think they are even close. I like this though and got a sample, but I thought is smellt like something I already have and it is Clean - Malibu beach. It's so so close.

I agree that this is a mix of tf soleil blanc and Blanche bete . The opening was creamy like Blanche and as it dries, it takes on a sharper sunscreen quality like soleil. I have both as well so not sure I need this. Is it nice? Yup. Is it redundant? Yup

This is a unique take on coconut to me. A little drier than most coconut scents, yet still creamy, and not sugary sweet. Almost savoury, if you could call a coconut savoury. Blanche Bete is a favourite of mine, and I truly can't see a similarity.

Amazing for summer. It's sunscreen but incredibly elevated. To me, it smells like Blanche Bête and Vanilla Vibes had a baby. It has that lactonic tonka vibe that BB has, but the airy and slightly salty vibe that VV has. Very beautiful.

Creamy Tonka with a slightly toasted feel over sandy, aquatic notes. Don't get a coconut vibe per se but it's certainly evocative of an evening in the tropics. Smells natural and well blended but not sure it's worth the price.

Why do these new brands keep on copying others...? Its just disappointing. Echo of Blanche Bete... Impossible not to recognise similarities.
