Allure Homme Sport Superleggera

Updating my summer 2025 review as I was FINALLY able to get my hands on a bottle at my local Shoppers Drug Mart (Canada) this week thanks to the recent relaunch 🙌🏼 To say I had FOMO after NOT buying this during my trip to Spain last summer would be an understatement. This one haunted me in the months to follow without it so I’m happy to have it in my rotation officially. I previously owned the original Allure Homme Sport, which was just OK to me. I didn’t mind it but it wasn’t something I would go out of my way to buy again. This scent however, while retaining the AHS DNA, just does something better for me. It’s still pretty close to the OG but I find it to be more enjoyable. It’s invigorating - airy and citrusy with just enough sharpness in the opening yet still smooth, woody and slightly sweet. The dry down in particular is my favorite part - it’s intoxicating. Sophisticated and sporty and without question my favorite of the AHS lineup (and yes I have smelled them all). I always describe this to people as a "sophisticated Italian man" in a bottle (coming from a sophisticated Italian-Canadian man hehe) Definitely a perfect summer freshie yet surprisingly rocking it in the Canadian winter has been working well so far A big concern in my prior review was performance. I can now say it’s no problem. In fact, even just one spray post-shower and my fiance complained about how strong it was 😂 (she likes it, just wasn’t expecting it) Even now as I write this, I’m catching whiffs without even trying. Sometimes I go nose blind to others but not this one! To be fair, I don’t think it’s a crazy performer either, but it’s not bad like some reviews make it seem (or at least not in the cold- I’ll have to update in the summer heat). That being said, I've gotten quite a few compliments on it, including from my aunt who is notoriously anti-cologne so that is a win. I hope Chanel keeps this as a regular part of the AHS lineup moving forward. It’d be a shame to have it continue to be limited edition and hard to come by later, especially when it comes time for me to buy a second bottle 😬 9.3/10

Great release if you can pull the trigger with the price. This to me is between the Cologne flanker and the original Sport flanker. Great semi dense citrus sharp lemony opening then settles in a little more creaminess, but not as much as Sport, then a beautiful sandalwood and clean patchouli in the far drydown. Very handsome fragrance. Of the Allures I own this is my rankings: 1. Cologne - best citrus fragrance I've smelled. 9.8/10 overall rating 2. Edition Blanche - Creamy but tart semi-sweet lemon and musks 9.5/10 overall rating 3. Superleggera - Handsome signature scent. Most signature worthy of the lineup due to versatility and moderate performance. 9/10 overall rating 4. Eau Extreme - Great smell but sometimes feels too dense in warmer weather. 8.5/10 overall rating I don't own Sport, but have had a decant and if I owned it, it would be in 4th with an 8.75 rating. These are all 8.5s and above so none are bad, just preference for favorites. Edit: After a few more wearings this has jumped to #2 over Edition Blanche. The musk in the drydown is handsome as hell. This is a 9.75/10 overall. Edit: Man is this a grower! Every time I wear it I'm more impressed by it. It's now a tie with the Cologne flanker at a 9.8 overall. They aren't redundant at all if you want both. Superleggera does resemble Missoni Wave (I'm a fan of that too) but that's because Wave is an Allure Homme Sport inspired fragrance. Superleggera is another world in quality.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Superleggera opens with a fresh crisp citrus that has a slight sweetness and green tinge to it instead of coming across tart or sharp. Right away, the clean Chanel musks show up underneath the citrus giving the fragrance that sterile-clean luxury feel that runs through a lot of Chanel fragrances. The whole opening feels very airy, cool, smooth, and refined. As it develops, the citrus blends fully into the musky base and the fragrance turns into a slightly powdery clean citrus musk with dry woods starting to provide structure underneath. Over time the woods become more noticeable, shifting the scent into more of a citrus dry-woody fragrance while the clean Chanel musks continue holding everything together. The fragrance stays very smooth and controlled throughout the wear without any harshness or heavy sweetness. In the drydown, it stays mostly consistent as a clean dry woody musk scent with faint citrus freshness still hanging around in the background. Even late into the wear it stays airy and polished while still projecting surprisingly well for such a transparent fragrance. Overall, this was my favorite out of all the Allure Homme Sport line. It felt like the freshest version while still carrying that clean Chanel musk DNA that makes the line so enjoyable. Everything smelled very refined, smooth, and high quality from start to finish. The only real downside is the price. 8.5/10

Simplicity executed at the highest level. Need an office fragrance? Check. Something for the gym or an active day? Check. Date night? Absolutely. This is one of those rare scents that effortlessly adapts to just about any setting. It opens with a bright, sparkling citrus accord paired with an almost pencil-shaving dryness—something I’d attribute to the cedar in the composition. As it settles, that sharper citrus edge begins to smooth out while the musky amber nuances step in, giving the fragrance a softer, more refined character. There’s an airy quality to it that keeps it noticeable without ever feeling heavy or intrusive. The more I try to dissect the scent profile, the more I realize that’s part of its brilliance—there’s no unnecessary complexity here. What you get in the opening is essentially the DNA of the fragrance throughout its lifespan; it simply becomes smoother, more polished, and more natural as it develops. It knows exactly what it’s trying to be, and it nails it. Performance is also impressive. On my skin, this lands firmly in that upper-moderate range with strong projection and a scent trail that absolutely gets noticed. This is one of those rare fragrances I consider a true certified masterpiece—an easy 10/10.

I’ve taken a step back from designer fragrances over the last year or so. Concentrating more on fragrances that offer more depth and originality. I had a hole in my fragrance collection. I was weighing up whether to buy Blue De Chanel again or something similar. I decided to take the plunge on AHS Superleggera. This beauty has really filled that void. It’s not reinventing the wheel but my word is this blended well. The citrus notes at the top are bright without smelling like cleaning products. Or not too tart. The musks and woods give this fragrance good legs for a fresh fragrance. Moderate projection with decent longevity. If you enjoy the OG AHS no doubt you will gel with Superleggera. It is less creamy and more woods than the OG. My wife is a big fan which always helps. The OG has a special place in my fragrance memory as my wife bought me a bottle in 2007 when we first got together. This flanker feels more versatile and updated but clearly has strong links to the OG. I purchased with a special Offer from the fragrance shop for £97 (100ml) including delivery. I think the quality of blend is exceptional and offers great value for money. Bright, clean with class. A versatile designer fragrance that deserves some love.

@highwaypunk it depends which BDC you're referencing. While they all have the same DNA, EDT serves an entirely different purpose than EDP and especially parfum- at least for me. Superleggera is closest in usage to EDT, but it's sportier than all of them imo. It's also got much better longevity than BDC EDT. I guess to sum it up, it essentially replaces BDC EDT for me because BDC EDP smells similar enough to that one while performing better. Superleggera also smells "richer" than EDT and EDP, though not quite as rich as parfum. Also, I might have missed it but I don't recall anyone saying this was supposed to be original or the culmination of the Allure line. IMO, it's just a really good flanker that is different enough from the rest without straying too far from the DNA. I actually disagree on the marketing and think it failed on this one. By promoting it as a limited release and charging so much for it, it turned a lot of potential buyers away and garnered many of these negative reviews. I think it would be rated a lot higher on here if it was much cheaper and a permanent flanker. People would still be buying and praising it to this day, and Chanel could be getting all of that money instead of eBay.

Me: i've heard it's now permanent from a chanel boutique rep Chanel Rep: Allure Homme Sport Superleggera is marketed as a limited edition to create artificial scarcity, enhance brand prestige, and test market demand for the sharper, woodier formula. Despite being labeled a limited release. Me: So will it be a permanent perfume in the future? Chanel Rep: The relaunch of Allure Homme Sport Superleggera is still marketed as a limited edition, and there is no confirmation that it will become a permanent addition.

The best Allure Homme Sport created. The opening begins as an amped up version of the original AHS. The citrus(juicy), musk(clean) and woods(depth) have been given much more of the spotlight here in the opening. This is what gives off the feeling of Creed Aventus Cologne. As it starts to dry down, the sandalwood and amber kick in to give that creamy/cool feeling you find in ASHEE. This last for a short time before the musk kicks in to overdrive and changes the fragrance into a AHS and Blue de Chanel combo(This is my favorite part) and finally resembles something like Dylan Blue for the remaining life of the fragrance. One important thing to add here is the musk in this does take center stage and could be a bit much for someone that gets headaches easily from overly musky scents. On my skin, projection is at arms length and longevity is 7 hours. Easily could be someone's signature scent and I'd say this could be worn any time of the year with the appropriate application. Can be worn dressed up or casual. My wife approves. Rating: 9/10

I was never a fan really of the allure line from Chanel. I’m a huge bleu sl00t but never really caught my eye untilllll I smelled this in the store. Holy shit. It’s light but also hits hard. Little sweet but masculine as hell. I sprayed it on myself and found myself smelling my wrists the whole time it was on me. My wife LOVED this as well. Crisp light masculine and projects pretty good off my skin. I ended up buying a bottle of it since it’s actually available now. Never could smell it or find it anywhere previously. Amped to have this as an alternative signature. BDC EDP is def my signature but it has some competition now. We’ll see which I reach for more now. Very amped on this fragrance and can’t wait to wear it more. Really is a masterpiece Edit: People saying the longevity sucks is wild. I sprayed this on me about 7pm. Went about my night. Woke up for the gym still smelled it. Took a shower after gym and still smelling it. It’s a beast. Yall are crazy. “But muh first release was so much betterrrr”. Thanks guy. You’re wrong.

No matter what Chanel did with this release, some would always find a reason to complain. But here’s the truth: Superleggera is one of the house’s most overlooked gems, dismissed by many before they truly give it a chance. Now that it’s sold out everywhere as a limited edition, watch as those same critics scramble to find a bottle. People are far too obsessed with loud, attention-seeking fragrances, so Chanel took a different path—one rooted in effortless sophistication. Jacques Polge didn’t design Superleggera to be a bold statement. He designed it to be worn—to enhance moments, not overpower them. This isn’t a fragrance for trend-chasers or those who crave instant gratification. It’s for those who appreciate restraint, balance, and effortless style. Love it or hate it—but wear it before you judge it. Fragrance appreciation isn’t about hype or volume—it’s about what speaks to you. Trust your nose. BTW. Opening has similarities to Versace Dylan Blue but is unmistakably of Chanel quality.

Had the pleasure of grabbing this the other day at Macys, and trust me when I tell you this is GAS!!! I had Eau Extreme and I hated it for some reason. The performance was great, I just couldnt get down with the creamy citrus. This smells similar but it removes the creaminess of the Eau Extreme. In the far dry down this gives like a Lemon Meringue pie type of vibe but nothing sickly sweet. Performance on my skin is honestly great. I work in Finance in an office setting and it clears my whole 8 hour shift no problem. I typically spray twice behind the neck, on my wrists and elbow creases, and about two to the chest. The projection is about 3 hours at arms length with a great sillage. about the 4 hour mark is when it dials back some but doesn't transition into a skin scent, just kinda chills out. Nice scent trail still but nothing super strong. Overall this is a great freshie and preforms exceptionally well on my skin. 10/10 for me.

I love the smell, I think it's just as good as Allure Homme Sport while at the same time being different enough that it's worth owning both of them. But I have to say, if you are looking for a beast mode type fragrance that will fill a room, this is not it. This is almost the opposite of that. Sits very close to the skin for me but I find it hard to imagine someone else has such a different skin chemistry that it will project heavily. Correct me if I'm wrong. But it does really smell sublime. The composition is also similar to AHS in that there's some kind of musky base with citrus sprinkled on top throughout the dry down. If you like AHS I think you will like this. The performance and projection is very similar to AHS. Edit: After having worn this for 2 days now I think the smell of AHS is still my all time favorite. It's hard to beat but Superleggera is still a great scent and will be in my rotation.

For you haters out there: 4 sprays from the bottle (original sprayer) in the 90 degree afternoon heat has been a total nosegasm! And it's still going VERY strong some 4 hours later. @highwaypunk: Just going by my own impressions and use: BDC is fresh up top, but goes completely subdued/gentlemanly in the mid and drydown. Superleggera is sparkly, playful/sexy and fun to the very end... I have worn BDC to business meetings with zero hesitation, but will definitely think twice with SLG. If you're more imaginative: BDC is the gentleman in a dark suite and tie... who secretly dreams of being tied up. SLG is the half-naked flirt on the Amalfi coast: no games, just sun, skin, and sex appeal. One plays it safe. The other plays to kill! One hopes to be adored, the other pulls you in against your will...

Freaking heavenly scent. Does not last for shit tho, perfect combination of musk and citruses I’ve been looking for. I wish it projected and lasted longer, just a smidge would’ve been great. It’s really volatile and “super light” for an eau de parfum concentration. I wear it when I’m running quick errands or when I really just don’t want to think about what I want to wear. Scent is a 9.5/10 longevity is a 5.5/10 , projection is a 6/10 , price is a 6/10 . Its definitely in my lane of freshies and preference but i really like it when i get whiffs of my fragrance like 6 hours after i applied it and that just rarely happens with this fragrance , i find myself reapplying this fragrance compared to other ones . And ive already gone through a 1/4 of the bottle after owning it for under a month.

Finally purchased it at the boutique. Full over sprayed wear this morning at 0630am. It's 430pm now, 10 hours. Still pretty strong on the polo tee. Sprayed on another tee that's left hanging at workplace around 730am, that one stronger still. On skin now still a light skin scent. Performance reviews wasn't wrong. It performs better than most in the line. Scent wise, i like it's woodiness and cedar like properties after the citrus opening starts to die down. Would prefer the nice opening to last longer but it goes to the heart pretty fast, I'll say 15 minutes or so. Base notes pretty lightweight as it's more or less at the stage of strong skin scent to light to fade off. Still a good designer bottle even at RRP of Sgd242. Bottle and design is beautiful. Good for collection too.

I have worn Chanel Allure Homme Sport EDT consistently for many years whenever the weather is warm, and I’ve fully depleted 3 bottles. I have also used Allure Homme, Edition Blanche, Eau Extreme, and Sport Cologne extensively. Superleggera feels mostly like a modernized version of the original Allure Homme Sport. It’s very good, and the opening citrus smells incredibly natural and vivid compared to the rest of the line, but I don’t think it is necessarily an improvement overall. I received a compliment on Superleggera 8 hrs into wearing it, which was shocking because I feel like it disappears after 1-2 hours. Possibly a Molecule 01 type of effect. This is the scent I wear when I take the Porsche out for an extra-sporty drive on a warm summer day. 8.75/10

Smelled this on a test strip first. Very fresh citrus woody slight musky and soapy. It passed that test so I tested it on skin. On skin it instead of going soapy it goes a little powdery. Which kinda killed it for me. But it eventually goes away and goes clean woody . It smells great I really do like it but like mentioned the scent profile is nothing new. There are a bunch of cheaper options that are very close or offer slight differences . But it is a really good fragrance and honestly for some people I can see it worth selling similar smelling fragrances and purchasing this . Super versatile very mass appealing and the performance is not bad at all. At $200 including tax the price is pretty steep . Will I ever get this ? It's a big maybe 7/10

A sharp, fresh, mellowed citrusy fragrance with a powerful presence, balanced perfectly by soft musk. A super sexy, masculine, and strong fresh scent that oozes elegance. Perfect for spring and summer. There is no Allure DNA in this, only the finesse, quality, and style of Chanel and Olivier Polge. This is Chanel's greatest fresh scent, ultra-masculine. It lasts extremely long and projects with impressive strength. Females of any age like this scent. It gets the unspoken compliments, not the kind you hear, but the kind you observe. Nobody gets verbal compliments unless it is from family or by asking. And when you ask, they tend to lie. The stares, the body language. That is the true evidence of a fragrance that appeals to the opposite sex.

It smells like the original Allure Homme Sport without the negative qualities of the original: the piercing sharpness, or the dated smell. Sometimes times it has that strong grapefruit note, and it smells like a fizzy fanta or citrus soda drink, with some woodiness in the background. Sometimes it has a smarties like quality. I do think you could wear it in very high heat. Do I think its revolutionary? No. Do I think it's a huge update and nice? Yes. I dont know a lot that smells like this and though the original AHS/Missoni Wave DNA is in there in the background I dont get that as the focus. EDIT: Smells a little bit like the citrus from Cedrat Boise without any of the old man notes in that fragrance.

The aura of this fragrance is very late 2000s, early 2010s. A time when everything moved at a slower pace, technology was at that sweet spot people weren’t addicted to it and everyone enjoyed life as it was. Now regarding performance - I never cared about beast mode bro fragrances unless it’s literally an instant skin scent, but this performs like crazy. Sprayed twice on my arm when I received my package from Chanel at 11:00 and could still smell it the following day after one shower also. I really appreciate Chanel for going against the grain of modern trends and releasing this masterpiece. It’s also the best in the Allure line and probably the best performing wise along Bleu L’Exclusif.
