Allure Sensuelle

Oh geez. I have been surprised yet again by my judgements that proved to be unfounded. I bought a very used 100 ml bottle online for quite cheap just to try it out. THIS IS WONDERFUL! It’s addictive! I’ve fallen in love with the Allure EDP after wrongfully thinking this line was going to be basic and not up my alley (I’m still traumatized by Chance Eau Tendre and Gabrielle, despite being an absolute Chanel fanboy). This is Allure...and SPICES/PATCHOULI/WOOD. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel and I am addicted to it. It is such a nice balance. It’s the kind of patchouli perfume I am more into, not a fruitchouli by any means. In fact, something about it has a “Coromandel Eau Fraiche” vibe or something. I love Coromandel with a passion and this gives me that kinda feel, but lighter and different. I was afraid of the lavender note as I am not a fan, but I can’t detect it at all! The menthol comments also had me hesitant but I don’t get any of that! I’ll come back with comments about its staying power once I’ve worn it for a full day. I received it about an hour ago in the mail. But I will say it’s such an instant love, I found a cheap full 100 ml tester bottle and just bought it a few minutes ago. I still haven’t gotten a full bottle of Coromandel (just used many samples), so before that happens (I still can’t bring myself to pay so much for a full bottle)...this might actually be my signature. 🥀 Update 02/23 - It’s been less than a month and I absolutely love it. I’ve worn it a lot (I also broke and bought a full bottle of Coromandel 🥰), and really enjoy the feeling it evokes. It is definitely a sensual vibe, while also being elegant. It’s very cozy and inviting, without it being too warm or too much amber or patchouli. It’s really well done. It has pretty good longevity, with it staying even longer on clothes. I don’t think it projects much after a few hours unless you spray a few more sprays than you would with stronger scents. But I have found a trick, I do a couple of sprays of Chance edp, and after that has dried I spray this over it. This actually shares many of the notes in Chance edp, so it doesn’t affect it too much. *I also think the notes listed on here are incorrect, I actually don’t think this has any lavender.* Eventually I’d like to get the body cream to see if that helps with projection, even though I still am very happy with this. Not every fragrance needs to be loud and be noticed by others, sometimes it’s nice to just have something for you. Btw I think this and Égoïste are Chanel’s hidden gems. Update 10/27 - One of Chanel’s best offerings from their main line and exclusifs collection. I love so so SO many Chanel’s, there’s only a few I don’t care for. And although I can see the artistry and appreciate all of them, this is up there in their best options. It stays forever on my clothes, I get tons of compliments, and I feel so good and beautiful when I wear it. I never thought I’d love this as much as I do but I’m on my third bottle. Part of that is because I sprayed a lot of a bottle into a soap & glory rose/patchouli lotion so I could have a body cream that helps with the longevity on my skin. But overall I will continue buying Allure Sensuelle, the surprising and unexpected love that I hope to not ever be without.

After loving no5 on so many others for years, I bought it for myself and realised that it just didn't fit me; love the smell but it was a little like wearing a cocktail dress to clean my house..just didn't suit. Coco never smelled very nice on me and so I just kind of wrote off the whole house as not being my style. Yet, somehow I found myself standing in front of the somewhat intimidating Chanel shelf in David Jones yesterday, feeling just a little too bogan to be looking up at the sophisticated glass bottles and said to the sales girl " I'm trying to find "My" chanel" I tried all of them. Coco mademouiselle was nothing more than a patch bomb on my skin. Chance..Well I'm just not that elegant. Coco noir; I actually did quite like, but didn't love. Allure edp..to much peach. Allure edt..boring. No 19, no thank you. Gabrielle was nice but I have many much more interesting florals at home. Much like wedding dress shopping, they were all nice but none were " The one". I thought all hope was lost until I picked up Allure sensuelle, the golden liquid sparkling under the light, even the bottle seemed slightly warmer than the rest; almost as if it was calling me. I sprayed her on my wrist and my nose went to olfactory heaven. Spicy, slightly sweet, grown up and feminine but lacking that typical chanel austerity that I find way to serious for my style and taste. A few minutes after the warm oriental opening I get a whiff of what reminds me of raspberry flavoured lollies, it's red berry but not a synthetic sugar sweet berry. It soon turns warm and aromatic, but that dark red sweetness always lingers. It makes me think of burgundy silk. It has no age limits this one, it's grown up yes, but because it has a slightly more...relaxed? Feel about it, I do think it would fit any woman of any age, in any setting. This won't be a night out scent, more of a nice out for the day fragrance. Longevity is about as good as it gets with any chanel edp these days. It's not bad; about 4 to 6 hours, with the last 2 being more of a skin scent. I was planning on going home and ordering a 30ml bottle online since they didn't have any in store. But after a momentary complete lapse of self control, I walked out wondering what the hell just happened, with my bank account wincing in agony. And now a 50ml bottle of the edp is sitting smugly on my dresser

I first smelt this fragrance in a very weird setting. I had to take my mum to the hospital when she was unwell and whilst we were waiting for treatment a very kind nurse came over to us who smelt out of this world amazing. Both my mum and I complimented her fragrance and she told us it was Allure Sensuelle. Thankfully my mum was fine, else it may have triggered bad memories for me, and so I went on to buy this fragrance, which my mum and I still refer to just as “ the nurse’s perfume” 😂 It is a beautiful spicy patchouli bomb that becomes very much like a second skin, but with good longevity and projection. The citrus and fruit notes that the original Allure is well known for are here to stop it veering into Opium-level spiciness (I adore Opium though!). I always loved the original Allure EDT; which I first discovered dousing myself with whatever was on the fragrance counters when I was a poor 16 year old shopping with friends; this definitely has that Allure DNA in it, but is way sexier! I would almost say this is a winter and night-time Allure. As someone else commented on here, it’s very much a grown woman scent, almost like Allure grew up into a classy, beautiful woman. I would love to make this my signature but do find it works best when I am well dressed and going somewhere, whether that be work or otherwise. I work from home permanently now and it’s too much in that setting. It is a compliment magnet, I topped it up once in the office and a number of colleagues said straightaway how incredible the room smelt. I am quite a shy person and didn't confess it was my fragrance ☺️ My mum and family who are never backward in saying when they don’t like my perfumes (which is quite often!) also love this on me and also feel it’s appropriate for all round wear provided you don’t overspray.

Sadly this "queen"is now only a sad, paler and tamed version of her former glorious, audacious and nuclear sillage-producing self. The density and richness, with the undercurrent of woods and spiced florals does not resemble who she currently became. This used to be the reason I skipped my biased and prejudiced opinion about flankers. This was one of the first fragrances I believed to be superior to her original...she was strong, poised, provocative, refined and intoxicating...people would know when you're around...the drama, the mystique and suspense...oh! she used to be magical, bitchy, hardcore, classy, bossy...Now she's uhmmmmm.....shame Chanel, I mean, really now! She smells the same but her soul has been sold....there are these missing links which were previously sumptuous...like an orchestra...in harmony with each other, you could not single out one single note because it blended so flawlessly. There is a thinness about her now which replaced the fullness...her fire is now merely a fleeting candle light which gets blown out by the lightest breeze...I'm really sad, I've lost my "armor", which makes me feel vulnerable and defenseless...like when you're not fully dressed, that feeling when you're halfway through the door but feel you've left "something"behind but you can't pinpoint "what' axactly. ...But my addiction for this fragrance keeps me coming back to her..even if she only makes me feel half the invincible and conquering inner seducer she used to..there's nothing else that smells like her, maybe that's why, maybe because only few men wear her...whatever, I don't care...she's one of a kind, she's mine, she's "me", I become "her", her gaze, her strength and her "rawness"wrapped in sheer refinement and class!

Between Allure EDT, EDP, and Sensuelle, Sensuelle is my clear favorite. Let me first say that I am not the biggest fan of patchouli. I don't know where Chanel sources there patch from or whether it's just brilliant chemistry and balance, but I love this, and love even more the patch dominant Coromandel! I'm also, generally speaking, not a fan of heavy amounts of pepper, but in this instance, it seems to help accept the rose note while providing a bit of a kick. I find the composition to be silky smooth, provided you don't overspray, which I just did - which I just did! LOL Seriously though, you don't really need more than a few sprays. I use a perfume primer with all my perfumes and it really helps increase longevity. I'm not quite sure I need it with this one. It's projection and silage are both very noticeable, another reason not to over-spray, unless you want to announce your approach 15 seconds before you enter a space and leave behind a memory when you exit. Overall, I think it's the gorgeous sandalwood that holds the composition together and makes it so smooth. I also really enjoy the vanilla here. It's most definitely an adult vanilla, fragrant but not too sweet. I received this in a swap with a lovely fellow Fragrantician and I am very pleased. This is a love for me, and I think that if it came out today, it could easily be part of the Les Exclusifs line. EDIT - I just want to add that in my opinion this smells much better in the scent bubble that surrounds you than it does if you sniff your wrist up close. The scent bubble really demonstrates the idea of impeccable blending, but when sniffed up close, it can be pungent, with the pepper and citrus very noticeable.

Allure Sensuelle is my second favorite Chanel fragrance (next to Coromandel)! It has the best dry down in the history of forever! The opening kinda makes me a little dizzy at first; but I am training my nose to embrace its punch more and more. The headache-inducing note is slowly being accepted in my system (thank heavens!). I am currently wearing this these days so that the person I like can remember me with this smell, and, I, too, could associate our memories (in my class) with this fragrance. This fragrance is a patchouli monster, so if you are not into that note, best be off, dearie. This isn't for you. But you if you like a patchouli which isn't so earthy, then this is your gem. I really find patchouli so dynamic in all fragrance categories. The patchouli here is well-blended with the dried fruits it promises. It reminds me a little of YSL Elle, but this is more sophisticated-smelling than that Midnight Poison dupe. The opening and heart notes scream so loud; but the dry down is really heavenly. The Chanel sweetness comes out, and even though it is a bit closer to the skin, I can still smell it from my neck and clothes every time a get a whiff of myself. Again, the opening might be a big punch on your face upon spraying, but, take it from me, this Jacques Polge masterpiece develops into the most alluring and sensual fragrance ever, so the name suggests. P.S: The EDT version of this has more pink pepper and is more suitable for daytime usage. However, the EDP is much more magical than the EDT. I have both bottles, and each of them has its own persona. Incomparable, distinctive, pure beauty.

This is exquisite. One of my favourites, it oozes beauty and refinement. There is a reason it is so expensive. This does not smell at all like you might expect from the notes listed. This is because it is so perfectly blended the notes are not individually identifiable. It has almost an aquatic essence to it, it is difficult to describe. What I do know is that it epitomises all of my favourite components and blends them seamlessly into one beautiful, loooong bloom with each component unfolding so softly, so gradually. This is what luxury smells like to me. In my opinion, the best of Chanel. It is everything sublime at once. I cannot love it enough. The sillage and longevity is ideal. Could not be more perfect. 11 hours and still blooming. The only qualm I have is this, I certainly could never wear this everyday, this is more of a 'for special' scent for when I want to feel really confident and beautiful. It deserves an audience. It might be a bit over-powering for everyday, especially on days where I might be feeling sensitive or hormonal- this could very well bring on a headache. This is something to be indulged in occasionally. Magical. PS. The next day I find myself wondering what the lovely smell in the room is, it is my leather jacket. I only spritzed some on my neck so it shouldn't have transferred, but it just speaks to the way its beauty radiates onto everything it touches. The epitome of quality fragrance.I honestly cannot gush about it enough. Returned to the department store today to steal a bit because I wasn't done loving it yet.

This is one of those perfumes that I never would have bought myself if I had smelled it at a store, because it starts off very strong and a bit "old lady" to me. And what a shame that would have been! Luckily our paths crossed when I got half a bottle from a friend who had grown tired of it. She must be "nosecrippled",- how could you ever get tired of this?! But I ́m deeply grateful to her becuse now it is one of my all time favourites. It starts off as a very stong incense and woody kinda smell, but dries down quickly (without loosing it ́s potency) to one of the most intoxicating powdery warm spicy smells I have ever had the fortune of smelling. Ever. How did I miss this one for so many years? Embarassing. I have never smelled my wrist so much in my life, I hope no one notices becuse Im pretty sure that I look retarded with a stupid smile on my face when I do... Not that you really need to smell your wrist, it is as I mentioned very potent and also longlasting. It lasts for at least a day or two. (I can still smell it after i ́ve showered!) I dont get much patchouli at all, maybe in the beginning, but more of a very spicy warm powdery hug with just the right amount of sweetness. The vanilla and pink pepper are noticeable but is also very well balanced. I have precious few drops left in my bottle and I ́m starting to panic a bit since I know I can ́t really afford to buy a new bottle anytime soon. My only criticism is that the sprayfunction is waaay too generous, at this rate I only have a few "spritzes" left. :(

My bottle of the of the toilette version is only half used. I stopped wearing it because as my everyday signature fragrance it started to smell very synthetic. Then I experimented with layering a cheap Jasmin floral perfume with it. This perfume is by the way “made in the UAE by SAP Industries”. It made the perfume more creamy floral. Everything seemed more heightened in a gourmand way with the “candied fruit“ component of Sensuelle. My mouth started watering! This had never happened before with this particular perfume bringing a new appreciation for it. Like a very sweet, spiced, zesty, orange creamsical. If that makes any sense. The difference between the EdT and EDP is that the floralcy. The toilette is a sharp, dry, spiced woody-patchouli amber fragrance with only the slightest hint of rose and Jasmine. Could very well work on a man. The best version of the two is undoubtedly the EDP, with an expensive and gorgeous aldehydic bouquet laid over top—a veritable female centric floral oriental perfume. The base is super comforting and warm. I am almost certain it contains a lot is synthetic cashmeran, sometimes marketed as “cashmere wood”. It's said to feel like being wrapped in a cashmere garment and I do feel that way with this. This must be the secret to cozy sensuality of this perfume (sensual note)! The sharp woody sandalwood and patchouli really brings out the dark leathery quality of the labdanum. And The plush vanilla is beautiful as ever.

I know what you did Chanel. This perfume has recently been reformulated (the batch code on mine indicates a 2015 production date)- and I honestly would NOT recommend buying this (at least not directly from Chanel). As recently as a year ago I was still able to test the old formula in a store so a lot of you won't have noticed yet. As you may know they discontinued the Eau de Toilette- I have an older bottle, which smells nearly exactly like the NEW bottle of Eau de Parfum I just bought. So they have discontinued the EDT, and made the EDP lighter/fresh-spicier. It lasts maybe 2 hours and isn't at all beautiful like I remember it. It's a glorified bloody room spray which I wasted $180 on for a 50mL and that's ON SALE (am in New Zealand, and it's not like the US where you can just return things). What makes me really angry is that this was my favourite scent ever, and Chanel like every other corporation has privileged cutting costs over quality, over perfumery, over their customers' satisfaction, and they thought we would be too stupid to notice. So now if you want a beautiful perfume you have to pay more and more for it- tbh if you want this your only option now is to buy the pure Parfum. What ever happened to producing something beautiful for the sake of it? Why do they need to squeeze every last drop of profit out of everything so some greedy mogul can hoard his millions at the expense of everyone else? Boooo.

what a surprise- I had never smelled this one, and none of the local stores carried it. Macy's, Dillard's - they carry other Chanel fragrances, but not this one. I enjoy Coco Mademoiselle and coco Noir, but before I invested the money- I wanted to try all the scents. Chance, and Allure didn't impress. so ... I had to resort to buying this frag from the Chanel website. I had serious qualms about a $100 blind buy. The best reassurance: Chanel includes a prepaid return label! pleasant surprise, so I figured I could return it if my chemistry clashed. It was love at first whiff. This is a potent confident frag, feminine yet powerful= I love it. But I could never smell the dry down- the scent seemes to dissipate on my skin after a few hours. yet others still smell it- when I walk past, after I leave a room- co-workers have told me "what a lovely perfume". and my dentist's assistant literally said "WOW" what are you wearing ? that is so beautiful. so I am keeping this one. currenty wearing it everyday. lovely lovely lovely Update: OK, I can still smell this beauty hours after I apply it; yesterday, I applied Allure sensuelle after showering, and right before I walked out the door I spritzed one more spray near my neck/ hair; I could still smell AS at the end of the work day! then, at night when I hugged my mom- she said "ummmm, I can smell your perfume today". So update on longevity: 10 + hrs.

Patchouli is the queen in Sensuelle EDP. Not harsh, loud, but subtle, delicate, and very elegant, from the very beginning to the very end. It's sweetened with vanilla, but OMG what kind of vanilla is it! Dry, powdery, not gourmandish at all. It's dusty and just perfect. Usually, I stay away from this note, but in the whole Allure line, it's just perfect. Sensuelle EDP is sweet - but in a very, very elegant and mature way. It doesn't scream with the sweetness of fruits and gourmand vanilla. I would say that patch and vanilla are the main notes here, and they are perfectly blended. While the classic Allure EDP is soft and mellow, Sensuelle EDP has more character, and it fits me better. I wouldn't say this is a business fragrance. I read that it's cold and distancing. Not at all for me. It's sexy, sparkling, and self-confident. Both for day and night. You just need to like it and feel it, then it's gonna fit you on every occasion and will compliment your character and charisma. I tried it in my twenties and I didn't like it. Now I'm 35 (but still feel like 27 :) ) and finally I can understand and appreciate this scent. Long-lasting and noticeable. Note that testers in Sephora I tried were off and gave me a lot of hairspray feel. The perfume I bought is totally different! So don't judge only on old testers that stay under the hot bulbs for ages.

very Chanel. first whiff is sour melons...but not unpleasant. warm woody, a teeny bit sweet (but not sugary sweet)...more like a creamy balsamic lotion. i don't get the powder, not at all. there's a nice soft, deep, black vanilla. the patchouli must be clean, as i can't really smell it under the rest of the composition. i'm afraid i don't get any spice or pepper...unless that is the warmth that comes through towards the end? it has a lot going on....and the result = melons. i am surprised by the reviews and the prominent notes that were chosen and this being largely described as a patchouli centric fragrance. i love patchouli and that is why i bought this...this is not my kind of patchouli, well for a start, i can't really tell it is there. i recognise its' resemblance to Coco and Mademoiselle. incredibly longlasting, "womanly" and appealing. but don't get this if you are looking for spice and/or patchouli. got nice womanly wafts all day and well into the evening, but i am not sure this is my kind of scent. EDIT: i have worn this a few more times...and it turns out, this is my kind of scent. love it. perhaps it's because i've been wearing my Coromandel sample...and the other day my friend quirted me with coco mademoiselle. All of these perfumes smell very Chanel. so what if one of them smells a bit of melons! i like melons!

This was a blind buy and I was attracted by the name. I thought it would be just like my idea of what a sexy perfume should be but I was wrong. It smelled straight out pepper from the box and from the initial spray. It takes a really long time for the scent to tone down so that you can smell the middle notes which is the best part for me. Once you reach that part, the scent is gorgeous. Not sexy but gorgeous. It's smells like something that I would be wearing when I reach my 40s and I would attending PTA meetings for my future kids. I don't like the pink pepper. Maybe, I have to let Allure Sensuelle grow on me with the pink pepper part. It's just okay for now. Not a like or love yet. We'll see. By the way, this perfume stays forever on your skin and even more on clothes and hair! Be careful with how much you spray too coz it can be very overpowering especially on the initial spray! EDIT: It was so hot and humid today in here where I live and I bravely sprayed this on... it’s beautiful! The pepper immediately faded and the gorgeous florals took over! I think my sweaty body agreed to it so much more than when I was in a cold room. This is definitely a summer fragrance! 😍 EDIT 2022: I LOVE THIS SCENT SO MUCH! ONE OF MY FAVORITE NOW! 😍

Another excellent fragrance from Chanel. I’ve been a fragrance collector for 3 decades and I remember when this came out, my daughter was born and I was treating myself to something special and Chanel is special, my husband gave me a few push gifts and this was one of them. I am NOT disappointed in this at all, it’s a beautiful sophisticated scent for a grown and mature woman, not a young girl like my daughter. The patch is front and forward in this and yes it is sharp when first sprayed but mellows out in the drydown to a soft rose fruit scent. Projection on this is amazing and you will get noticed. Longevity is also amazing and I really enjoy this in the drydown. As we all know fragrances are subjective and just because this is a love to me, it may be disappointing to another person. Chanel is a sophisticated luxury house and whatever they produce is definitely money well spent! If you like a patchouli rose with fruit mixed in this is for you! Now remember this is discontinued and hard to find but if you come across it buy it! Highly recommended 9/10 Not a summer fragrance not sure how this will work in heat great for spring, fall and winter. Night and day scent

This is the spirit of Allure with huge dose of sexy. If you like Allure at all or even if you think Allure is nice but it doesn't knock your socks off, try this fragrance. This fragrance can be a challenge to come by in person since it is offered in limited doors at the high end department stores like Bloomingdale's but the universal reaction by Chanel employees is one of admiration for this perfume. I think that really says something. The initial intense blast of fragrance may put you off but wait a few minutes and the magic starts to happen. The patchouli and spices settle in and you begin to notice that familiar scent of Allure bleed through. This is what Coco Noir is to Coco. In the cooler months you'll want to switch over to this one from Allure. Sillage & Longevity are well above average. This is a fantastic fragrance if you are going out or you just want to stand out a bit. You can't help but feel sexy wearing this fragrance. You can just blow by the hundreds of women all wearing Coco Mademoiselle and think to yourself THIS is how it's done ladies. Just be prepared for many compliments to come your way when you wear Allure Sensuelle.

I wore this one for years and recently repurchased it to find it greatly diluted and watered down . Basically I could not smell it at all after two hours . A dear friend purchased at the same time and was so disgusted with it that she sold her bottle. Sorry , but it is NOT nice to ask the price of $175 for a quickly disappearing perfume. Seeing my friend felt as ripped off as I did with this perfume, I advise consumers to beware . I hope management at this house improves , but I am swearing off Chanel house for now. I also wore Coco and Allure for about 18 years and will no longer purchase them even though the originals were magnificent creations. I find the Chanel House to be a total disappointment with the perfumes I wore for so many years . If you did once love the balsamic vanilla Sensuelle as I did , give Shalimar Soufflé Intense A try for a fraction of the price . It has satisfied my craving for A . S. . For less than $ 50 a bottle and it LASTS ALL DAY and is a gorgeous cobalt blue bottle . I do not find it similar to Shalimar at all , but it really reminds me of Allure Sensuelle when it was a powerhouse perfume .

Sorry Allure EDT, but Sensuelle has surpassed you in my "Favourite Chanel" ranks. Yes, I've always liked Sensuelle but now that I've been wearing it more since September I've begun to fully appreciate it. I used to find post-Coco Chanels overrated until I started getting into fragrance and started exploring. And I have to say, I think Sensuelle is my favourite. I can wear it any time of day, it oozes class and it has that Chanel patented sub-scent that I love without smelling like every other twentysomething woman wearing Chance or Mademoiselle. The notes I find most prominent on my skin are an expertly fine tuned fusion of patchouli, vanilla, rock rose, big wet roses and - as my skin likes to amplify - lavender. Not one of these notes stand out though. It just feels like a melting pot of beautiful ingredients that leaves its own unique scent on my skin and clothes. If I was writing an article for some pretentious magazine, I'd label Allure Sensuelle the "Cool Girl's" Chanel. It's modern, refined, sultry yet approachable and in my opinion, the absolute perfect office-to-bar-and-beyond fragrance. Seriously underrated.

I am rather new to understanding the perfume world. Reading all of these reviews has really taught me a lot, so thank you to everyone for that. I have several samples of chanel, from Allure, Chance, 28 La Pausa, to Chanel No. 5. Coming from mainstream fruity, florals, at first I didn't like any of the Chanels that I have. I've come to realize that I personally associate powdery scents to more "mature" personas. With Allure Sensuelle, at first, although I liked the ambery-vanilla that develops on me, I wasn't sure how to understand that with the combination of the spicy florals. I guess it was just too foreign at the time, and as with many tastes that are acquired, took me a while to warm up to. About a year later, I finally get it. Now, I simply adore Allure Sensuelle. It's a sophisticated spicy rose, with a beautiful warm dry down. I keep testing other brands to see if I find one that's more fitting, more me, but I haven't yet. I really can't do fruity, or candy, and gourmands, I just don't get, although I'm still trying. To me Sensuelle is an exquisite fragrance that exudes warmth while being richly feminine.

If you hate patchouli, this scent might make you change your mind or at least make you start to consider patchouli as a perfume ingredient. The opening is a quite strong wave of citrus+patchouli, and not everybody would appreciate it, but just wait about 5 minutes to feel the magic! The scent becomes sensual, not cheaply sexy, but mysterious sensual. The violet, the roses and a tiny drop of some spicy elixir slowly "come in", which makes this scent sophisticated powdery, just a bit woody and very feminine. The dry down on me turns into an expensive rosy, spicy +vanilla soap mixture, but this soap is gorgeous -warm, elegantly sweet and unforgettable. It's a cold autumn morning. I imagine a lady over 30 sitting in a cafe, having a cup of great, high quality green tea with some vanilla accents. She's dressed in black, the make up is present but you can't tell. Light, but still so intellectual, elegant and wise. She knows what's life about, and she regrets nothing. And all she'll leave behind her is a trail of this wonderful, feminine perfume.

Peachy, spicy opening, with rose and patchouli. Everything blended to have soft edges. It is very sweet after some time, very vanilla, musk, amber, vetiver, patchouli. But the start is predominantly spicy-fresh. It is not easy to discern the notes, which is a plus as this time the notes play Allure Sensuelle. It has a decadent presence, it is rich, complex and overwhelming at times, especially when the skin is heated, which is why I prefer it during winter, as it gets to a maximum sillage only when the situation is heated and creates a bubble then, which I like in big spaces. Very sensual, very vanilla in the background notes it is rather an evening parfume and perfect for a date. I had it on me on a party and felt like the main star there, constantly in this gorgeous scented bubble. But in small and closed spaces this diva might be too much. Yet I would not like to be without it, so I need to buy a backup to my half empty 50ml. It is much warmer than its edt version which is also gorgeous.

As a first step towards my new goal of trying out all Chanel women's fragrances, I sprayed this on in the department store, around 8 hours ago. Not a lot of sillage, but still clearly present. There is definitely some overlap between this and Coco Mademoiselle (my only other Chanel encounter so far). I love this perfume! It smells expensive, spicy, interesting and sophisticated. It smells less pink and creamy than Coco Mademoiselle. Where Coco Mademoiselle is the 20-24 year old pretty young woman, strong but lovely at the same time and above all kind to everyone, I would say Allure Sensuelle better suits the same woman when she reaches her mid-twenties, is making progress in her career and is taking her own steps in the world with modesty, charm and confidence. I am now really curious how the other Chanel fragrances are going to be. For this one, I would say, if money did not play a role I would definitely get it!

Chanel Allure Sensuelle is definitely the sexbomb fragrance for mature women and I do not mean mature as in 40+, I mean mature as in a grown and sophisticated woman. I can pick up on the peach in the opening which is one of the most prominent notes in the original Allure, but in Allure Sensuelle I get a vanilla sandalwood blend with a softly spicy patchouli base. Since most department stores that sell Chanel products only sell the original Allure, I did not get a chance to smell the Sensuelle version before ordering it online from Chanel. After reading the reviews on here and seeing the breakdown of the notes, I blind bought it believing it would be something I would like. Well lucky me because I love it! Chanel has never let me down before, having purchased other fragrances from them, I know they produce quality fragrances and Allure Sensuelle is no exception. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

Allure Sensuelle nears the midpoint of Coco and Allure. The spices are reminiscent of Coco's characteristic clove, which is not like real clove but a thing unto itself. It's undeniably Chanel. Add some earthy florals and a mysterious vanilla, and you have Allure Sensuelle. The vanilla keeps it grounded, keeps it from flying in your face. It's one of the last complex fragrances produced in the 21st century; by that I mean it has a long, carefully crafted list of notes working in harmony, as well as a certain 90s sophistication about it. I'm afraid it came out too late to achieve huge success, but I still appreciate what a great piece it is and am happy to add it to my curated collection. And what a beautiful bottle! I prefer the classic Chanel apothecary bottles, but I make exception for this luxe, chic gold-and-purple bottle. Longevity and sillage of the fragrance are quite good, too.

I was intrigued by the comparisons of this perfume with Coco Noir and, as I have both, decided to test: AS on my right wrist, CN on my left. Here's my two-penn'th to add to the brew. First, the similarities. Patchouli is prominent in both; both are balsamic, although AS slightly more so. Both have rose peeking in and out during the dry-down. Now for the differences. I find that CN is more fresh-spicy, more sandalwood and citrus, whereas AS is more resinous, more warm-spicy. At one point during the dry-down, AS takes on a caramely, almost gourmand note. All-in-all, CN (perhaps ironically) is lighter and fresher. I can imagine wearing this in any season, day or night. For me, AS is darker, warmer (which suits its name), and I see this as a cold weather/night-time fragrance. Both are wonderful, complex fragrances in my book, and distinctly Chanel, but different enough to my nose.

OMG! I had this scent a few years ago and I was not very impressed because on my skin it turned a bit too woody-masculine for my tastes. Body chemistry, or my nose, have changed.. so I smelled it again today and I totally fell in love! This scent is amazing, a powdery, spicy, warm floral, a cozy, very elegant and ultrafeminine fragrance. I cannot stop sniffing my wrists! It's a skin scent but it's extremely long lasting (the powdery-vanilla drydown is wonderful). This is similar to the sophisticated Coco Noir (maybe the powdery-balmy notes), which is fresher and more citrusy and it's similar to my beloved Coco Mademoiselle as well, (the spicy-fruity notes) but this is warmer, sweeter, more womanly (and less popular). The EDT is beautiful as well, lighter and fresher than the EDP. This gorgeous scent is perfect for being a signature.

A friend bought the EDP for me knowing I love Chanel fragrances back when it came out in like 2006. This fragrance is one of my favorites for winter especially. I wear it to holiday parties with my cashmere sweaters and pencil skirts or with my leather jackets and jeans. It makes no difference. This fragrance is soft and bold all in one. It is edgy in a way that is intoxicating to me the wearer and anyone who is within six feet of me. It is strong but it pleases the senses of everyone that I ever met anyway. I have heard people say "What is that perfume I smell?" "Do you smell that?" "Who is wearing that?" Then those who know it is me are always asking what I am wearing man and woman alike. I prefer this over Allure for the cooler months. This fragrance is a conversation starter. Not many are. Love love love!!! 10/10

Recently I got my hands on this. Finally. On me it opens exactly like Allure but after only a few minutes it develops into something more. The basis of Allure is still there but with more suede and warmth. It's simply awesome. I don't really get the 'sex in a bottle' thing, nor do I think it's a scent for WOMEN as in grown up ladies. I'd easily see any young woman wearing it. In my opinion it is absolutely suitable for day, any season. Not a heavy perfume like Opium, and it's totally different from the mainstream ( which is a great thing to me ). I want to add that the first bottle I got was a counterfeit. FAKE. That one smelled very masculine at the opening and faded in a few seconds to nothing. The real thing is nothing like that. No masculine/alcohol smell in that.

complesso, sensuale, difficile, un profumo che va al di là del genere e che ha tutte le caratteristiche per diventare un nuovo classico. l'apertura è di impatto grandioso e supermaschile: limone e patchouli. quindi immediatamente spunta il pepe rosa, che sulla mia pelle rimane pungentissimo e piccante per parecchio, con un tocco di muschio di quercia che invece tende a sparire presto, emmenomale, per lasciare il posto ad una sensazione di matita. sisi di grafite, che io amo molto, e che ho ritrovato in parecchi profumi, anche se ancora non ho ben capito da cosa salta fuori. in definitiva, l'assestamento è speziato e dolce, caldo, quasi sporco, molto chanel. da maneggiare con cautela: la persistenza e il sillage sono mostruosi.

Mmmmm.....patchouli overlaid on the classic creamy floral Chanel formula. The original Allure is uber classy, feminine, daytime, approachable. Sensuelle is darker, deeper, mysterious. I'll show my age but imagine the likes of Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg, Charlotte Rampling, Jacqueline Bisset as potential wearers. Classy, but also sassy, very feminine but also no nonsense tolerated from little 'boys' or 'players'. Mind you knowing what they want from life and men. This is a beautiful perfume, but because the patchouli can be challenging, sample before you buy. On the other hand, Allure is probably a safe blind buy for Chanel lovers. One of my absolute favourites this is, just behind Coromandel. 4.5/5

Before you go any further...I'm a fan of this scent! I'm normally highly sensitive to patchouli, however this is blended seamlessly and I can't detect any specific notes, just an aroma of perfectness. It's incredibly classy, with a sensual backbone. First spray is full of pepper and can be a little overwhelming, however I now find to be zesty and a great 'pick me up'. From there it smells like a little black dress, with just a hint of something metallic giving it an aloof feel. Once this stage subsides you're left with what reminds me of fleshy fruit, dripping with nectar. The fragrance isn't fruity as such, it just smells full, ripe, and completely seductive. Get around it!

I’m a huge lover of this, and i have been for three years. I finally managed to find a good deal on it ,getting it second hand from a collector. I first smelled it on my boyfriend when we just met, when he borrowed it from his mom. (It wears great on men too in my opinion) So it does have some sentimental value and i’m so happy i can make this my cold weather signature. You have to be a fan of the prominent notes, however. The patchouli, pink pepper and florals are definetly there at first. But when it dries down its so lovely and warm.. I get what people are saying, it’s definetly a mature scent. However i think it fits me very well as a bit of a gothicy younger lady.

This is easily one of my favorite Chanel Fragrances! It's a rich amber floral with rose and iris and the heart. It starts off fresh and spicy with the pink pepper and the citruses and a blast of patchouli (I usually HATE patchouli, but this one is so well blended I actually love it) It dries down to a creamy floral with the amber and sandalwood- this balances out the top notes and keeps the patchouli from being too sharp. It's slightly sweet but not cloying at all. It's a grown woman scent but not vintage. I love this one so much for a signature scent that feels classy and has the classic Chanel DNA but richer and more amber. Well blended and very luxurious feeling

Ohh the Chanel DNA is definitely in this one, it's like as if coco chanel and coco mademoiselle had a baby, the dry down is sooooo beautiful this could easily be someone's signature scent, I actually think this is my favourite from the house. Ahhh longevity is great but I think most of them are (minus coco noir) Edit: there is something about this house that becomes engraved in you.. no matter how big my fragrance collection is and how many expensive niche fragrances I own I always come back to chanel particularly this one and I use it everywhere even the gym although I don't think it's appropriate but... oh well can't blame me for smelling good 😅

This is my favourite Chanel Perfume, it is the only Chanel apart from Coco that has any lasting power....it smells very beautiful, romantic somehow. It's woody/oriental, and that is something I love on me. Allure Sensuelle lasts forever on my skin, but you just watch Chanel change that in the next round of reformulations.....they can't have customers being satisfied with their perfumes and only buying a bottle once a year when they can water it down and have them buy 3 bottles a year.....which they've done to ever other Chanel I have owned and loved. The Coco I own is an old part-used bottle bought off ebay.....and lasting power is amazing.

Allure Sensuelle is Allure with patchouli opening. It is still Allure. The name represents the scent excellently; it is sultry Allure. The original Allure is joyous and sunny. If I were to liken Allure edp to a wealthy, lovely, elegant young lady at her late 30s, Allure Sensuelle is the more mature at her 40s ( perhaps now wife, mother, being loved by a man or even a lover:). Allure is a lovely girl and Sensuelle is a lovely woman, but they are the same person with the joyous, sunny character. Joie de vivre Allure ou Allure Sensuelle:). Both of you are wonderful creatures. I am gonna burn some cash on you once I afford to do so.

At first I did not like this and was disappointed. Fast forward a few years - I took it out again yesterday as we ALL have time now to check out our perfume goodies that we have stashed away. (thanks to COVID) Needless to say -- the only way to wear this and truly appreciate and enjoy its beauty is to spray and walk thru. It's 100% different than if you dab it on or spray it close. Not sure I have every experienced such a contrast with a perfume based on the application technique. But...it's true! Try it again and see what you think. It's near perfect. Happy sniffing! OH -- and take the mask off first. ;)

This has been one of my favorite go-to winter perfumes for a long time. Regardless of how my tastes change and favorites get switched this one remains up there next to few other lasting loves like Shalimar. It is incredibly strong and has amazing longevity, a little goes a long way and lasts all day and well into the night. The opening is a little off-putting at first, it opens with a lot of patchouli and comes off a bit masculine, but the patch dies down quick and the everlasting drydown starts and it is divine. It is sandalwood patchouli vanilla heaven with enough sweet fruit added to keep it feminine.

This scent is wonderful. Creamy, luxurious and sensual. But one thing I cant understand is why people say that it is strong and has a huge sillage?! No.. I have used this perfume as a summer scent and on my skin at least, it is so round and creamy that it almost just feels like a creamy and luxurious body lotion scent. Very nice and comforting. It melts into my skin and is never ever sharp, not even when I first apply it. Very good signature scent that is a little bit mysterious, comforting, warm, clean, just a hint of spice and wood, and you wont smell it on every other women, like coco mademoiselle.

I have some things to say about this one sadly, and what a sad thing it is for me. First off, most importantly, it gave me a BAD rash. This never happens for scents with me. I was badly infected for a few weeks. It was a 2009 batch, so that's on me I guess. Secondly, the longevity is POOR. Lasts less than an hour for me. Sad, because the scent isn't all that bad. Not worth buying more than a 35mL bottle for a discount, but still... good. Starts of balsamic, quite alluring yes and strong in that patchouli affair. Lovelyish. Classy, very Chanel... just flat. and bad for my skin. 3/10 for me

I truly love this. Comes as close to a signature scent as anything for me. Unlike some other reviewers here, I find this so wearable - all seasons, all times of day, all occassions; I just increase/decrease my sprays according to needs. I love the power of the opening, the blast of the pepper, and the soft but spicy drydown. Makes me feel sexy yet comfortable, mysterious yet approachable. A warm and enveloping cloud, it is versatile and it lasts. Allure Sensuelle still really excites me after more than a year - I look forward to making more and more memories with this.

Smells like an old money type of personality, elegant and posh. Chanelesque - I can smell a trace of the so called granny scent, which gives this that atmosphere of “if you know, you know”. Patchouli, I get a lot of dried fruits, pink pepper, peach and a hint of vanilla. Sillage: moderate Lasting power: +10 h on my skin Reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP and Quizás from Loewe. It s my trademark. I feel very bold wearing this scent. If you like patchouli scents, I suggest you give it a try. To sum up, smells like a rich lady.

Allure sensuelle,my only chanel in my collection of fragrances I love. It is warm,balsamic,slightly spicy,floral,and vanilla. Longevity is a good 8 hours and sillage is beyond arm length,she will captivate people around you.Men love her! It is a masterpiece in my eyes, and for me It has that one of chanel fragrances on the sideline,while coco mademoiselle takes centre stage. However although coco mademoiselle may take centre stage,allure sensuelle steals the show for me,and deserves an encore. Let us not forget her.....

This perfume is love of my life. First time I smelled this fragrance was when I was 17. Now I'm 30 and that's only fragrance that I want to wear. Price is for me a little bit over the top but its long lasting and it smells more than 12 hours on my skin. Pink pepper is the first note that I smell , pachouli is not even strong that much , it gets floral and peachy but not overwhelming floral . Wood notes are the ones that last even after 20 hours on pillow on hair on jacket. Beautiful, classy and timeless.

This is a little different than I remember it smelling in 2005. It's somewhat like Coco, which I bought for my mom last year, only this is stronger. This comes on a lot more intense at first and it's incredibly long lasting. I do still love it, I just think they tweaked the formula a bit when they brought it back. I hate that Chanel has had to change their formulas in recent years. They do a good job, but our sense of smell is so connected to memories that it can feel like something is missing.

This is absolutely gorgeous. The name is very fitting for this perfume, it is indeed very sensual. My first encounter was with the sensuelle Edt which did not work for me at all. It was too masculine smelling for me. This edp is so much more feminine, creamier, refined, floral, sweet and oriental. It is softer than the edt, but not weak by any means. It has the DNA of the OG allure, which I absolutely adore. I will enjoy wearing this come winter. Kind of wish I went with the 100mL now!

for the ones who are looking for a dupe of this perfume, I just went recently to Swiss Arabian; an Emirati house of perfume (I guess!) to test some of their products. I was surprised when I discovered a dupe for Allure Sensuelle there! the perfume is called Inara انارة and it comes in a flat round bottle with a pink cap. I was lucky too as there was a discount on many perfumes including this one. As I'm using it the quality (projection and longevity) seem good as well.

Warm and sensual. Has a slightly resemblance to chance edp. But allure sensuelle edp is more mature deep and complex. I mostly get patchouli, peach, mandarin and some pink pepper. The dry down is spicy, ambery and dries fruits. I also get rose, iris and woody notes. The scent is to me feminine, classy and has an expensive mystic sphere around it. It ́s so much a chanel fragrance. This is a big love for me, though I tend to wear it seldom. Moderate silage and longevity

I love this perfume so much. The top notes are not that pleasant to me, and the first time I tried the perfume I actually made a face. But then the scent became something heavenly, I have never smelled something so pleasant ever before. I have no idea what the exact ingredient is, but it makes me feel like I can do anything and my husband really loves it on me too. It's a complicated scent, and its not easily likeable. I use it in colder days.

Re-review. When I first had this it gave me rashes, I hated it and loved it at the same time. Now, reusing it before deciding against giving it away, I have decided that I do rather enjoy this sweet patchouli and dry rose fragrance. I've used over half of the 35mL bottle and it's served me quite well. Far from my favourite Chanel, but it's much more 'me' than the original Allure and ANY of the Homme line, save Egoiste and Antaeus.
