Chance Eau Splendide

I love Chanel!! I love how Chanel makes me feel so happy, and beautiful and classy. Of all the designers, Chanel is “that” one that represents me ❤️. That said, I own quite a few of the fragrances of this house, almost like I want to collect them. When I found out this was being released I didn’t care what it smelled like I already knew I wanted it. Sadly, though as I read the reviews.... I wondered to myself- Self, you are 39, your final year before entering your forties.... These reviews are saying this is a youthful/younger generation perfume, not for you, it kind of broke my heart. I always loved when other people on this website would say things like “fragrance doesn’t have an age” “wear what you want” and I truly feel this way because right after I sprayed the tester on the beautiful purple paper I immediately purchased the full sized bottle (which by the way I know my younger self probably wouldn’t have bought for that Chanel price tag $$$) But I wore her today and she is absolutely gorgeous. Sweet, but not as sweet as you would think, more “floral fruity” ( with the raspberry) not as sugary as I imagined. The Sillage was not cloying and left a medium bubble around me. The spray on my wrist lasted for hours but was not heavy. Beautifully done Olivier! Chefs kiss... now hopefully I will see more Women/men wearing this gem because even though I felt “too old” to wear her, she is truly magical and I felt nothing less than pure joy today.

After reading the reviews I realized that this isn't a favorite among the hardcore Chanel fans. Actually, it doesn't seem to be a favorite in general. I don't mind though, more for me! I'm not really a fan of the Chanel fragrances. They all smell very, very vintage and that's not really my preference. For some reason I usually get naseous if something smells even remotely vintage. I didn't have any expectations when I smelled this in store, but I loved it from the get-go. Chance Eau Splendide smells like juicy raspberries, soft violets and musk with a tiny bit of wood in the base. I've tried a bunch of fragrances with raspberry and I always find that the raspberry note reads very chalky/gritty, like Sweetarts or Pez candy, but that's definitely not the case here. It actually smells like raspberries growing in a forest. As a child, I went picking raspberries in the forest with my grandma in the late summer and early fall, so I'm very familiar with the scent. I love the raspberry note in Splendide, and the violets complement it perfectly. It doesn't have that vintage vibe that I don't like but it still smells like Chanel, if that makes sense. Splendide was my first full bottle from Chanel, and so far the only one I like. I bought it when I was on vacation so it has some really good memories attached to it, but it's also a great everyday or signature scent. Great longevity, moderate projection. 9/10.

I tested this at my local department store and yes, it reminded me of dior addict 2, ysl babydoll and other pink bottled perfumes from the 00s. That said this is more refined and updated, without being screechy, metallic, or sour. It threw me back to my younger self in my 20s and instantly made me smile! Amongst all the hype around niche perfumes that smell like wood closets or synthetic white florals, I find this refreshing, almost endaring for going against the trend. I respect that, it's a very brave move from Chanel. Sometimes you just want to smell nice without smelling like you rolled yourself in a forest. When I got home after a few hours my husband who doesn't like floral perfumes (he associates florals as grandma scents) told me I smell amazing and beautiful.The longevity and projection is great as I could still smell it by night time. Is it original? Not really. Does it smell juvenile? That's subjective and who cares. Does it smell good? Absolutely. Frankly I don't get all the negative comments. So for people who like this but are apprehensive about being "too young" - you do you and wear whatever you like. I love it and will get myself a full bottle.

Well this is one of the perfume I always received compliments from my colleagues and friends. I am a big fan of chanel perfume. Chance eau tendre is my all time favorite and go to scent. But when I added this one up to my collection, I just cannot stop using it. I think it has chance dna inside, which makes the dry down totally different from body spray from cheap brand people referred to. This is not cheap, because this is not what I smells on other people. I recommended to layer this with other chanel products, like I use body oil from Coco Mademoiselle, and then use chance eau splendid on my clothes, like literally my best friends keep asking me what I’m using. I think chanel scents complimenting each other. But overall, I love it. It is chanel. It has chanel dna. And it is suitable for all occasion. I use this since the day it launched (100ml) and used this through autumn and winter. If you wants to smell totally different in the room In winter, don’t use overly sweet caramel coconut vanilla scent. For me, fresh, floral, fruity always stands out and do no harm to people around me.

I got a sample of this perfume and I loved it. At first I found it way too sweet, but it is just the first seconds after spraying it on you. The red fruits and raspberries are very very present! I barely can smell the other notes. This perfume, although sweet and full of red fruits, doesn't smell cheap like cheap candles. It makes me think of happy old ladies enjoying a tea party in the garden. It has a very strong garden vibe. I think it also gives off vibes of girl entering puberty and maturing. I must admit I really enjoyed this perfume! However, sadly, I don't think it is worth the price at all. It doesn't smell expensive to me. It smells very good, very feminine and delicate, however, it is nothing extraordinary that one must get immediately. It doesn't last long either! For such an expensive perfume, I'd expect a much longer longevity. It is great for spring and end of winter in my opinion. Very lovely and charming, but definitely not worth for the price.

The fact that people are saying this smells cheap and nothing like a Chanel fragrance is wild!! Splendide is Chanel dna through and through. This smells like my aunt when we were kids. I was obsessed with how she smelt and honestly her whole home. It is super feminine, playful, fizzy and honestly doesn’t really smell like one thing to me just a blend of deliciousness with a super classy, chic vibe to it. Doesn’t last as long on skin - but lasts ages on clothes! Coming back to say that although I’ve been wearing this since the release and reached for it pretty much all spring and summer, now that I’m wearing this in the winter, I love it even more. True signature scent worthy. I can’t express enough how well this blends and just smells like a vibe versus one thing in particular. The concept of the red berries are giving a wintery Christmas!

I do agree that this has a more generic smell compared to the rest of the Chanel line, but that never bothers me if I don't have something else in my collection that smells like it. Chanel fragrances have incredible longevity and sillage with my chemistry, so I always know I'm going to get the best performance with the Chanel version. This and Eau Tendre, to me, are the most palatable fragrances in the entire Chanel line for those who struggle with the Chanel DNA and mature scents. I have received several compliments when I've worn this scent, more than any other Chanel fragrance I've worn. I love it in spring and summer. When it's a dreadfully hot day, this is my go-to for that fruity but casual day scent.

When smelling Chanel Splendide I instantly imagine an enchanted forest. It smells magical, like elves and fairies. It gives me fantasy vibes and I’m so into it! It’s a beautiful, romantic and happy composition. It opens up with a refreshing fruit notes, mostly raspberries. Opening is so sparkling, juicy and gives a boost of positive energy! Later on, a lovely rose and violet duet starts to play, making it more floral and powdery. I really enjoy how the notes are blended and last on my skin for few hours, lighting up my day :) It’s a youthful scent, but remember that magic is for everyone, no matter your age or gender! I’m definitely enchanted now and I love it :)

My top spring scent. I've always had reservations about Chanel, the most tolerable perfume of theirs before this being Eau Tendre, but when it launched, I was pleasantly surprised on how lovely this scent is! Since getting more into perfume, I've learned of the cohesive relationship between violet notes and my body chem, and this is certainly no exception. It's so inoffensive that a lot of people give me compliments. It is mainly a S/S scent but I also tend to wear it from the transition of winter to spring, and it's just an easy perfume to grab off of my shelf. Biggest gripe is the price, but that's Chanel for you.

Maybe I'm biased because most of the fragrances I have are from Chanel, so I just wanted to try their new release. I tested it in the perfumery, and my first impression was—meh, too fresh, too fruity. It smells nice, but I want something more serious, more full-bodied, so I decided not to buy it and instead bought Chanel Coco Noir. However, when it dried down, oh gosh, I just loved it. I couldn't stop smelling it. It’s totally different from how it initially appeared—I don’t really detect the fruity notes anymore; instead, the musk and I guess iris come forward. It’s definitely on my list to buy.

I LOVE this perfume!! The initial spray smelled a bit too fruity with a hint citrus-y notes, like a younger version of Twilly by Hermes but as it dries down you can smell more floral and musky notes, I'd say it smells like a luxurious haircare product The smell is so unique and different compared to any other Chanel perfume I own. As soon as I smelled it in store I HAD to purchase it, it is so light and fresh!! This perfume pairs well with heavier and musky scents as well, it goes well with Maison Margiela’s When The Rain Stops, and Sisley’s Soir De Lune

This one will surprise you, as it surprises me. At first I thought, ah another light, young Tendre like perfume, but then the violet hit me, the geranium rose, the musk and the drydown! It is mesmerizing! It stays on my skin the whole day, and still is there when I wake up. It is really addictive. The perfect balance between fresh and sweet, floral and musky. I think this will end up being a classic, like Gabrielle. One that people think of as generic but will stand the test of time. Class in a bottle.

Surprised to smell this from Chanel. Definitely geared toward a younger audience. The fruit, especially the raspberry accord, really dominate this one for me; to my nose, the fruit stays well ahead of the florals through the middle and base notes. It’s also never cloyingly sweet. There is a basic shampoo quality in how it all comes together, but it’s surprisingly fresh and sophisticated. Overall, a really pleasant break from the vanilla and jasmine-forward notes that dominate feminine fragrances.

Waiting for them to release EDT version because I bet it will be more interesting 🤣 I love the chance fam and this is a good one if you have the personality for it. She’s demure...quieter and sweeter than all her Chance sisters. This would make a lovely “first perfume” for a teen or a gift for a classy friend who enjoys soft and sweet floral perfumes. The nice thing is that this lacks any spicy, citrus or patchouli notes - which for me is why it makes this a safe blind buy.

I’ll be honest: with all the very mixed opinions about this perfume, I expected something that would smell cheap, be severely overpriced, and absolutely not my style. But a sample from the perfumery completely changed my mind. This fragrance is gorgeous: it has a classy, elegant vibe and at the same time it feels playful and fun. What impressed me most is the lasting power. Even after my sweater went through the wash, I could still smell traces of it. I absolutely love it!

I see this has many poor reviews, I get it, I'm not crazy about a lot of fragrances that have mostly good reviews. I took a chance (no pun intended) on this one and it works with my chemistry and I must admit not many perfumes do! I can put something on and think it smells great but an hour or so latter I find I have to wash them off. This Chance Splendid smells great on me all day! I don't think it smells generic or cheap either.

This isn't nearly as fruity as this site is making it out to be. When I smelled it I got beautiful violet and iris accords with some sweetness added from the raspberry without being too fruity. The musk really rounds this out. I really do love this, it fits right in with all of the other beautiful scents from the Chance line. Compared to the others, this is a more powdery and slightly fruiter version of Eau Tendre.

I think it’s a masterpiece and indeed splendid. I find myself reaching for this fragrance every day; when I wear something else out of loyalty to my other bottles I top up with Splendide because I miss that uplifting raspberry, the beautiful rose geranium, the powderyness of the iris and the incredibly addictive drydown. It lasts all day and beyond and it’s just me. Found my signature! Thanks again Chanel🙏

This is my favorite spring perfume color combination. It has been on my glove for a whole week now. It stays on my skin all day. A very gentle, shiny, creamy, powdery, floral, warm, cozy perfume. It is not as sharp as the others, on the contrary, rounded like a river stone, ethereal like a forest fairy. It has become one of the favorites in my collection. For me, this is the best Chanel that I have tried.

I am so in love with this perfume! I think I already wrote a review, but I just got myself a 100 ml bottle because i finished up my 50 ml in 3 months! Never have I finished a bottle so fast. It is addictive. The freshness, the development, the warmth of the drydown. The perfect balance of tartness, sweetness, woodyness. And the rose geranium adds that special note. Great job Olivier Polge!

I’m in LOVE 🥰 Chance Eau Splendide EDP is everything I was hoping for when I purchased Chance EDT, just without that prominent granny note 💖 This has that old skool for real quality musk that most perfumes opt out of these days. So pretty! (I wish JPG would go back to using quality musk😭💔 instead of that tripe reformulated wannabe musk) Chanel Splendide is a LOVE for me 💘

I smelled this today at work. The woman must have just applied it. She smelled great and I told her so. Fresh, clean, playful, and berry like. She said it was Chanel. Went to Sephora to see which one it was. I believe it's this new one. I preferred it to the others in this line. Ladies, don't dismiss it and look down on it as nothing special. It's very nice

Fruity scent from Chanel can't be wrong. It's a very light spring or autumn fragrance. I don't think it has a synthetic or atificial smell as I've read in some comments. I think it's a very light perfume, different from from what Chanel usually makes, which are very impactful perfumes. Eau Splendide is one of my favorites from this line.

A fruity opening with a floral drydown. It is not sweet to my nose, rather sophisticated. But also not "old" smelling. The sillage is low and will only be noticed when very close - which is nice for an office scent. I enjoy iris so I really enjoy this scent and will use it after having had Eau Tendre as my summer scent the past 3 years.

This is such a beauty! When it first came out I thought, ah just a youthful, fresh, reiteration of Eau Tendre, but then it lingered and lingered till the next day. I love the sweet freshness of the berries and then the musks in the drydown give it this special Chanel vibe. A love!

Very lovely fruity elegant fresh perfume, perhaps my favourite from the Chance collection. It lasts several hours and I always get compliments when wearing it. The fruity note is not cheap and well suited for almost any age. Perfect for day and night and in warmer climate.

I tested this scent on paper on last Sunday at Chanel counter and now it’s Friday, I can still smell this good scent on the paper. I reckon that Chanel Splendide is the best one for me. Now I save up my money for buying it one! Enjoy wearing perfume!!

Whoever said they can't smell orris (iris) or musk obviously doesn't know what they actually smell like. Why on earth would you even critique a fragrance's notes when you don't even know you're talking about. It makes you look like an idiot.

It is lovely! Lots of juicy fruits and berries 🍓 🍇 dominate floral composition and cedar grounds it and prevents from smelling juvenile. This is the first Chanel that appeals to me. It smells very modern and likeable.

Gorgeous refreshing summery fruity scent. Wasn’t necessarily expecting it to be a daytime kinda scent but it is just so delicate and easy to wear. Very refreshing and uplifting as well. A total safe blind buy.

Reminds me of my babysitter from like 2005 when I was like 4 years old. Smells like raspberry bubblegum to me. Fresh floral and fruity but not too childish. Just smells like a girl in the early 2000's.

I like this so much. Got it for Christmas from my husband. Just wished it lasted longer, it only lasts an hour or two on me. For me, not worth the price if it lasts such a short amount of time.

Compliments galore! Chanel knocks it out of the park again. From the opening to the dry down this fragrance is outstanding. The berries, violet, and iris are deliciously seductive.

I LOVE this fragrance! Smells clean and fruity... a little like apple cider to me, on a nice hot summer's day. Great for summer days in the sand or even strolling around the city.

okay finally caved in and splurged on a 50ml flask of Eau Splendide, I can see this one going extremely viral. the reasoning behind it is quite simple, Chanel does not have many rose-forward fragrances that are extremely popular, I'd say Coco Mademoiselle has been that bergamot+rose patchouli tinted girl for... two decades. while Chanel features rose and Peach as an additional note on their modern conoctions (Gabrielle Essence comes to mind instantly even though that is a White floral perfume) on this one, the Peach only adds a slight sweetness. It smells mostly like raspberry violet-rose and a strong dose of cedar, I don't get too much powder/iris or geranium after the opening notes fade, It smells more "perfumey" and grown up than... you know the deal of rose-berry Accords: Bright Cristal, Parisienne, Baby Doll, or Addict Fraiche/Addict 2, even going on a limb with Valentina Pink/Armani Si at that, at least on my skin It does not go the froot route and instead leans more into the floral-cedar-musk territory. Very Office friendly! I am located on the south emisphere of the globe, so I am testing this one in the midst of winter, perhaps not the best choice scent wise but I had to purchase It before the price went Up again! (It already got an uptick of 35 USD on the price, thanks for nothing Milei). Extremely bad performance considering its an EDP formulation and the price tag, Fraiche remains my favorite Chance formula-wise. I'd say get Bright Crystal if you like these vibey 2000's y2k clean fruity florals, that one has stood the test of time against its flankers and Reigns supreme offering the 200ml huge ass bottle for pennies. Buy this if you have spare income, but it's not *It*

To be honest, it's not anything mindblowing. I've just been an avid user of Chanel's Eau Tendre for three years now that I've grown interested to see another floral fruity? fragrance added to the Chance line. Eau Fraiche smells too manly to me and the original yellow Chance smells too powdery? Too oriental to me. For Eau Tendre, it's the perfect "First Love" fragrance that's gentle, warm and loving. Smells like a warm hug. Eau Splendide doesn't match its name if I'm being quite honest. I'd rename it Eau Happy go Lucky if I could, haha. She's fruity, she's bright and she is very, oh so prim and girly in my opinion. Exactly like the beautiful lavender shade of juice inside the bottle. When you first smell Splendide, it's lots of fruity jammy scent up your nose, almost a bit too loud if you get too close. Not loud in a sweet or gourmand way, loud in a "I'm Fruity!" like a body mist type of way. Splendide smells like something ENFP/ENFJ girlies would wear! Happy, smiley, bright, the one who brings 'fresh air' to their group of friends. The girl who offers her sweaters to her friends with a big smile even if it's slightly chilly herself, I imagine someone with a very nice, happy smile. Not a dot of cloud in her eyes. I rarely get fragrance compliments because I don't like suffocating people with my smell, hence why I don't spray a lot. Two spritz of Splendide was enough for my coworker to enthusiastically gasp and ask the entire table "Oh my god, WHO is THAT? Someone smells amazing!" I was surprised, Splendide seems like an absolute compliment getter!

update after some days: Addict 2 is Alive and well inside Chance Eau Splendide. opening: Dior Addict 2 drydown on Fabric: Dior Addict 2 I'll repurchase this one until I go broke, I'm never going back to Addict Fraiche or Bright Crystal, contrary to these fragrances, Eau Splendide does not dry down to a chemical fume impersonating White musk and cedar (like really cheap laundry detergent that has that nuclear "clean" smell that is sharp and, well... musky), the one that is quite headache inducing. Splendide smells more "natural" on the drydown. these compound notes that shamel uses, I already waxed poetic below, but opening is mostly red berries and peach which I think construct this pretty "cranberry" Accord (pomegranate on the other two) that awakens vivid memories of the early 2010s but smells way more perfumey. on clothes this is her, Addict 2 in all her former Glory, slightly woodier thanks to the violet and iris, but they ground the composition so beautifully it's actually mindblowing. thaenks shaneeellllmmmm I never thought they'd be pulling all the stops but they are LOCKED IN! side note: i'm never not-mourning Addict 2, It was my signature for 9 years. The fact that I can purchase an original bottle for three times the price is not great, and its also a lottery whether I'm getting vinegar or something with all the delicious top notes burned off... not a good look nor enticing. My wallet hurts!

I don’t like a lot of flowery, powdery, fruity scents but this one is great. I got a sample from the chanel counter and it grew on me. At first I thought it smelled clean, like some kind of soap or shampoo, but after I bought a whole bottle, it kinda started to smell like roses. But I was disappointed to find it doesn’t last very long after application. Maybe 2 hrs. I like that it’s complex and not just a one dimensional flower bomb. I probably won’t buy more due to the issue with it fading. I’m used to oriental style perfumes that last a while on your skin. I can’t keep applying perfume 17x/day. ==== update 7/24/25===== Okay I just tested Lanvin's Jeanne Lanvin perfume and this is the review I left: I can barely smell this so it might be a good first perfume for a kid. What I can smell reminds me of Chanel Chance Eau Splendide. It's not an exact match but kinda in the same ballpark. It stays close to the skin for me and although I've been looking for something LIKE Eau Splendide, I've been looking for it because Eau Splendide disappears really fast imo. Jeanne Lanvin disappears even faster though so. However, if you're GOING to buy a sweet little clean girl perfume that disappears right away and nobody can smell I feel like maybe it would be more cost effective to not smell Jeanne Lanvin rather than not smelling Chanel Js.

I might be one of the happiest people about the popularity of raspberry notes. Many brands have released colorful red fruity flankers. Among the ones I’ve tried, I think this has the most elegant and summer-appropriate interpretation of raspberry. There’s a very bright raspberry in the opening, but unlike fragrances such as Dior Addict Purple Glow, Miss Dior Essence, or La vie Est Belle L’Elixir, it doesn’t feel as tart or carry the same gourmand-like sweetness because the rose gives it really nice support. The rose softens the sharper side of the raspberry, making the scent feel calmer. Peach is there too, but it stays in the background, letting the raspberry and rose take the spotlight without drawing much attention to itself. As it starts to dry down, the energetic and playful fruitiness of the raspberry and the clean, elegant character of the rose seem to gently clash with each other, while iris and musk step in and bring everything into balance. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting something like this from Chanel, but I ended up liking it. If other raspberry fragrances have felt a little too intense for you, and you’re looking for something lightly powdery, clean, airy, with a slightly pink vibe, this fragrance could be perfect for you.

This is a very pretty, office safe scent that fits right in with the Chance line. On me, the first spray smells like sweet candied violets but it dies down super fast (within five minutes) and becomes barely perceptible to my nose. The odd thing is that my mom, who is not into fragrance at all and usually can't smell anything unless it's super loud, gave me a compliment on this smelling really good about three hours after I initially sprayed it and could no longer smell it. This must be full of aromachemicals that I'm anosmic to and so I'm definitely not springing for a full bottle. I don't want my scents to be beast mode and punch people in the face all day long lol but I would like some decent projection for a couple of hours, especially at the price point. I have body mists that last longer and project more. What are these perfumers using in these so-called EDPs these days that is making them vanish almost as soon as they leave the atomizer?
