Coco Eau de Toilette

In a way, I’m surprised at how much I love this. But in many ways, I’m not as I love Chanel perfumes. They are my favorite. But I had both the EDP as well as the parfum, and didn’t fall in love like I had hoped. I do like them, but they felt a little too sweet and something just wasn’t quite matching my personality. That was a couple of years ago so perhaps my nose has matured and/or, the EDT was my match all along! I bought a new formulation off the grey market (Mercari), and it’s DIVINE! I was always intoxicated by my EDP and Parfum, but felt out of place wearing them. I also felt like the EDP wore me. But this EDT, this is absolutely the perfect balance for me. It’s still Coco. But it’s a little spicier, a little brighter/sparklier, slightly woodier, and just slightly reminds me of...silk? I’m not sure, I get the image of something silky or sheer running over naked skin. Anyways. I will have to say, I always get scared when I buy a Chanel bottle that is from the last....mmm probably 10 years haha. But in my time of buying Chanel’s, and different formulations from different years, there are some of them that honestly haven’t changed that much throughout the years. And the sillage/longevity hasn’t been extremely compromised due to those reformulations. Can’t say that for all of them, hello Allure Homme (😔). But I’ve read from some users that in the last year, maybe two, they have improved their formulations again of those older scents. I’ll have to get Cristalle and No 19 to check. But I will say, Coco is eternal in a way. On skin I get impressive longevity, and sillage seems to last for many hours. On clothes, I can pick up a shirt from my laundry that had Coco sprayed on it days before, and it’s still there. Also I wore it out to get drinks and while I was outside enjoying the fresh warm evening air, I was around a lot of cigarette smoke. During and after that, I was getting compliments on my fragrance. So I will say, even people in their 20s can still enjoy this. And maybe it mixes well with smoke due to the time it came out, competing with cigarette smoke and hairspray to even be noticed. Now something I do want to add but I could be completely wrong, I think the notes on here are not correct. I felt they were correct when I wore a modern bottle of the EDP, due to its power and sweetness and my rookie perfume testing, it all seemed really befitting. But when I wore the vintage parfum, and this modern EDT...something in me questioned the note breakdown. Upon looking at Basenotes, which doesn’t list the EDT sadly, I found the note breakdown to be somewhat wildly different. And the spices in it actually make more sense to what I’m smelling. This is what they list. Head angelica, mimosa, frangipani, mandarin, pimento, coriander Heart cascarilla, orange flower, bulgarian rose, jasmine, carnation, ylang ylang, cinnamon, orris, tuberose Base labdanum, ambrette seed, opopanax, benzoin, tonka, vanilla, olibanum, musk, honey, civet, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood Just wanted to share that in case anyone else felt the notes listed on here weren’t quite correct. Regardless of all of that though, I love Coco now. I finally found the version that fits me. And does it fit me well. I’m a man, yet you should wear what you want regardless. But I wear those pearl earrings that are sounded by a gold band (you know), gold rings and a bracelet, pearl necklaces, and a black crossbody bag with a gold chain. So I feel absolutely at home with Coco and my adornment. And as along as you know how much to apply, I feel that the EDT can be worn whenever. What a beauty. 🥀 Update 10/15 - I have to add that I’ve acquired both 50ml and 100ml of older formulations and I have to say...the newer one really is missing something. It is Coco, but those older bottles...woah. There is something in the depth that is just magical.

God it’s gorgeous. Even on me, a guy. I keep getting whiffs of it. Ok I only sprayed it an hour ago but still it’s heavenly. Nor am I finding I get so used to it that I forget it. With nearly all my other fragrances my nose gets used to it after a few days and I can’t smell it any more. However Coco has so many facets that it never gets stale for me. I bought my bottle off EBay. I am guessing it’s a vintage bottle as the juice is an amber colour rather than the current paler juice I see advertised online. That is my real fear that the current reformulation wont match my current version. I will pick up a used modern version from EBay before I commit serious cash on something possibly weaker. What do I like? It’s the smooth spicy yet comforting mix. I can not identify mandarin or peach or other fruits. It’s a smooth blend for me. Just like No 5 where I cannot pick out a single note. Coco is of a piece for me. In Tom Fords Noir Pour Femme (yes yes it’s another woman’s perfume - I have never cared about gendered perfumes, if I like it I wear it). In Noir I can pick out the vanilla, the kulfi accord, the rose. However in Coco nope. It’s just one lovely ride with oncoming waves of smooth spicy fruit. Boy does it last too. It has the best longevity of any edt I have ever used. I do own a bottle of both the edp and the extrait, both from EBay. I find the edp a bit skanky and a very different beast entirely. The extrait is different again. Light and floral with no real projection at all unlike the knockout No 5 extrait. Last year I raved over No. 5. This year I am raving over Coco. I do think Coco is more male friendly. It is rarer too. I have not smelled it on many people, only on one woman in my social circle and never in the street. To be fair I can sense that my vintage juice might not be that good a fit for this decade. It maybe a bit too fruity for it’s own good and a cleaner more clove centered reformulation might be more modern? I shall find out soon as I am down to less than an inch in my second hand 100ml bottle. Fingers crossed. I will report back here when I pick up a bottle.

A glorious Venus inspired oriental from its creator Jacques Polge. This is an emotive, mysterious, sage of a fragrance, very beautiful with depth,splendour and vibes of wisdom! I find this to have comforting warm and transcending qualities that evoke serenity and security, making me feel content. Like a hug from a loved one or a cosy luxurious cashmere wrap. It has an appealing luxe quality-the spices here Cloves, Cinnamon & Amber give depth and character. The Sandlewood and Tonka bean along with sweet nuances of Peach, Jasmine, Bulgarian Rose, Mandarin orange and blossom, soft Mimosa,Vanilla and a touch of civet, all are blended masterfully to perfection! This is for a confident woman who stands True & firm to who she is! Soft, gentle affectionate, and elegant and also strong and courageous! (I might add here PS-that I think a man could wear this! It does lean towards being a unisex fragrance! Although my husband begs to differ! For those guys that do love this! I think just go for it!!) This is the best oriental I've ever tried thus far- it is not skanky, musky, heavy, cloying, dark, gothic, witchy, churchy/Insency, hippy like or earthy! It is wonderfully balanced retaining the essence of a true oriental without having to 'scream it from the rooftops' like some powerhouses out there! In some cases rendering them trashy! This however is a class act! CCT Is sophisticated because the blend has been thoughtfully and masterfully orchestrated. This is smooth mesmerising and dreamy- I love to wear this! I like how the sweetness is subtle and not overdone. I find this relaxing -it is a solace to me. Unlike the edp! which I find too heavy and have always shyed away from! (Although have never actually owned a bottle.) As I found her a tad intimidating like many of the eighties gems! - Enter the edt the modern version! She is the silk scarf compared to the Mohair shawl! Both beautiful in their own rights! Just different! The edt is timeless reserved and alluring! I would wear this around the clock, anytime,any Occassion, rain, hail or shine! She is my go to, Now my signature<3

Coco EDT by Chanel, to me, is a classic, timeless scent. It's inviting, but spicy and a bit sweet. While I know this is an older fragrance, it still surprises me that there is not more talk about Coco! I can't say that I've ever smelled the "vintage" or original formula of this. I try not to compare older versions of the scents I have just because it creates FOMO and ultimately, for the most part, it's just no longer available, so why compare? Having both owned Coco Madamoiselle and Coco Noir, Coco fits in perfectly with the line. CM is the youngest sister, fresh and modern CN the sophisticated, classy sister, the one that reads poetry while dressed in all black. Coco is the fun, sassy sister, still super chic but never one to turn down an experience. So they all have that Chanel DNA, but the moods are different. Coco does not come off as "old lady" or vintage on my skin. On my skin, it pulls spicy, a little soapy (probably the jasmine) and sweet. I also do get the Cola vibe as another reviewer stated. Main notes I pick up are the cloves, sandalwood, and orange blossom but overall it's very well blended together. On paper though, it's sharp and pulls the vintage note, so make sure you test this out on your skin before making a final decision because I almost decided not to purchase this due to how it smelled on paper. Those wondering if there is a difference between the EDT and EDP, yes. EDP is a little heavier and heady, the EDT pulls lighter and more floral. I think at some point I'll have both. I have to admit that I love this more than I thought I would and would definitely repurchase this once I run out.

Coco EDP was a love of mine during the late 80s early 90s along with Guerlain's Samsara. I didn't have many fragrances then due to a limited budget. I recall having only one or two on hand at a time and I likely bought those based on what I perceived then to be glamorous or classy. Due to interest in art and graphic design, I was also swayed by the visual appeal of the ads in fashion magazines. Other perfumes I recall having were mostly from the drugstore and a few Estee Lauders. Fast forward almost 2 generations and now I am revisiting some newer iterations of some classics. Was I sophisticated enough to wear Coco or Samsara then? Likely not then or now, lol. I think I have determined, by delving into perfumery as a middle age hobby, my tastes are fairly basic. Exploring unfamiliar notes and fragrance categories has been immensely enjoyable but I have found I often prefer inobtrusive tea, citrus, and common floral note blends to wear day-to-day. Ok, sorry, I'm done rambling.... I DO remember the warmth and comfort I felt when wearing this gem back in the day. I chose the EDT over the EDP to sample now based on the consensus from the reviews here. It is all about the wonderful base to me, the amber, woods, and vanilla. The rest is merely a great blend of rose and other flowers containing hints of spice and fruit. Beyond the aforementioned base elements, I truly can't discern the individual notes and it's OK to me because I love this. I'm off to explore some other Chanel samples and will try to pick a couple to deem wearable and FB worthy.

Coco Chanel EDT💕 When I went to the store 3 years ago to try the EDP one, I was so disappointed. It made my eyes tear with a sharp and bitter smell of cloves at the opening. I waited around the shopping center for 2 hours and waited for the scent to settle, hoping that it would be better after a while, but in vain. The carnation note, which I don't like at all, continued to smell dominantly from opening to closing. Dishonored, I returned home empty-handed, and I never thought of trying EDT. I didn't want to try it again until last year, with the idea of "how different it can be". When I drove to a store last year, I glanced at the Chanel aisle, and I noticed its EDT. I said let's give it a try and voila! Again a dominant clove scent but this time I could feel those sweet and soft notes coming from the bottom. After the first half hour, notes such as amber, orange blossom, sandalwood, rose and jasmine began to accompany the cloves and other spices. At the end, the velvet touch of vanilla and tonka ... You can feel the transitions in soft and harmonious even though it contains a lot of notes. The EDP version is also getting better for me, but I still don't think I'm ready for it. EDT has definitely become my indispensable. Its persistence and spread is also very satisfying. Moreover, it has a complete niche perfume quality. It is not suitable for blind habit, but I think those who love it cannot give up all life. It is such an impressive fragrance.💖

TL;DR: timeless elegance in a bottle. Top 3 of all the Chanel fragrances I've tried. In my collection I have three Chanel fragrances currently - Coco EDT, No. 5 Eau Premiere and No. 19 Eau Poudree. I love them all and they each serve distinct purposes for me while sharing one main quality: classic elegance. Coco is warmth. It's a hug from a beloved family member or friend. It's a cashmere sweater and your favorite scarf on a chilly day. It's the glow of a fireplace or Christmas lights reflected on a window pane. It evokes a feeling of comfort and welcomeness, while still upholding the glamorous Chanel DNA. For some reason it reminds me of my mother, though she has never worn Coco. But I think it's that enveloping, lasting hug of scent that reminds me of her - the feeling, rather than the scent itself. Every late Fall I pull Coco out and it's like visiting an old friend. There's an ambery balsamic warmth mixed with with smooth, rich florals and woods. The notes are blended to create a golden tone and I get something vaguely sparkling in there, too. Yes, it has a bit of a mature vibe, but I love that about it. It's confident and settled, sure of itself and not trying too hard to impress. It's a fragrance for someone who knows who they are and what they want to project. I purchased this on impulse at an airport on the way home from a vacation and it was love at first sniff. Now I couldn't imagine my collection without it.

I've debated for so long whether to buy the EDT or EDP, but thanks to your reviews, I am the more than happy owner of the EDT (current formulation). Just wish it came in the prettier flacon. This topples Halston Classic for Women from my top shelf. Yes, I love over-the-top spicy Old School power frags. Not many reviewers have mentioned the strong mandarin and orange blossom opening, but it was very discernible to my nose. Very realistic. Sweet, but not cloying. I grew up with a citrus grower Dad so believe me when I say that Chanel should be congratulated for introducing such a beautifully natural smelling opening. Now that I've experienced such a classy citrus in Coco EDT, other citrus based fragrances seem very strange and artificial. The opening lasted about half an hour. As so many of you have mentiined though, Coco EDT is all about the spices. On my skin the Rose is pretty much subsumed by the cloves. Then there is the very strong yet beautifully balanced coriander, laudanum, sandalwood, Opoponax etc etc. Gosh, how many spicy notes can one fragrance take! It's not for the shy this one, but Coco EDT is a masterpiece in my book. I've also bought the shower gel, but won't be inflicting too much Coco on the public. I'll leave the layering and overly zealous spraying to stay at home days. You know what though, I feel like selfishly keeping this one to myself. The rest of the world can keep No.5.

Review for the pre-2015 version of Coco EDT. I just adore Chanel perfumes. I believe that there is a Chanel for every lady. Chanel will carry you with style through all stages of your life. They are all beautiful, graceful and chic fragrances, that envelope you in a cozy familiarity like your favourite jumper. Coco in particular is the perfect chameleon perfume for wearing everyday with jeans and a t-shirt or to complement your favourite party dress. I love this perfume because with each wear I get more and more out of it. Everything is impeccably well-blended. At first spritz I thought it a very complex oriental with a little too many aldehydes and balsams, until it developed into the most gorgeous spicy-woody scent. Cloves are prominent. There is lots of amber and powdery rose in the dry-down and it's very warm and comforting. An absolutely stunning sillage on me, Coco projected really well and smelt even more delicious in the air. I kept catching wafts of a lovely perfume and thinking 'Wow, who smells gorgeous.' Oh wait, that's me! This lasted on me for about 10-11 hours, but I did notice that the top notes were much stronger than the middle and base notes, as after 2-3 hours it became a skin scent. I was able to still smell wafts of it floating around me as I went about my day, though, which I did enjoy. Sillage was strong to moderate at first, before it faded to soft.

I have the EDP and love it, and I didn't think I needed the EDT (in fact, I truly do not, insofar as perfume is a luxury item, and no one literally *needs* it), but a kind Fragrantican reached out to me after I reviewed the EDP, recommending the EDT as well. I'm normally a maximalist who wants the strongest concentration of everything, but I recalled that EDTs are not always weaker, and some EDTs project and last as long as their EDP counterparts, just with a somewhat different balance of notes. I don't want to be without both the Samsara EDP and the EDT, for instance. Well, now it looks like I'm feeling the same way about the Chanel Coco. The EDT is a bit brighter, maybe, and maybe it lacks a bit of the smoky ambery of the base, but it's very much recognizably Coco. In fact, it reminds me more of the Coco that I wore in the late 80s, which is strange, because the bottle I had looked like the traditional blocky flacon, I think, and not this more minimalist rectangular EDT bottle. At any rate, I am grateful to the Fragrantican who reached out and suggested I pick up the EDT. It's still recognizably Coco but a bit fresher and more suitable to daytime. I might be getting slightly more mimosa and clover, too, but that might be my imagination. I like both formulations more than Coco Mademoiselle and Coco Noir, although I do love Coco Noir a great deal, too.

My batch code is from 2014 (I keep reading that this was reformulated but I'm not sure when...I love my bottle and it is half gone so hopefully when I go to re-purchase it will be the same formulation...any input on this, fellow frag-heads?). Fall is slowly starting to come to Florida, with temps this week dipping into the high 60s at night (hurry the hells up, chilly weather!) so I've started pulling for my spicier scents. Yesterday I wore the EDP, so this morning I am basking in the EDT. Warm cloves and spice, a bit of resin, and something underneath that makes everything smooth. I love both the EDT and the EDP, although the EDP is much MUCH longer-wearing (approximately 18 hours after I sprayed it, I could still smell a bit of spice on my wrists). I do not recall exactly how long the EDT lasts (since it has been a year since I put her on), but I know it is at least 6 hours. Chanel has astounding longevity even with their EDTs, lasting much longer than many alleged "perfumes" on the market (Serge, I love you, but I'm looking directly at you). One reviewer below wrote that this is the holy grail of sweater scents and I wholeheartedly agree. One day when I migrate to Maine, my closet of fisherman sweaters will smell in varying degrees of Chanel.

Edt reformulation. I can say that Coco is at least to me, the best oriental perfume of the last 30 years. It's incredibly sexy, classy, misterious and alluring like no other. I just came back from my favourite store and happened to be able to try the last reformulation of Coco Edt. It still has the spirit of Coco, but is softer not watered down, it smells more modern, more attractive to the new generations and that is no bad at all for me. I got the same delicious peach, orange, jazmin and citric flowers of the original but it seems they got refreshed, the heart notes are as usual rose, cloves and cinnamon ( on me ) and the glorious base notes are opoponax, amber, sandalwood, tonka bean and a gorgeous vanilla I could not detect on the previous one. I found it less serious, less "dated" and lighter in a great way. Not that I didn't like the old formula, that was a gem of a fragrance, but this one is the same spirit of my beloved Coco with new air and more sunshine. Nothing stays forever the same and Coco had to change with the times keeping its glamour and it's magic and sensual aura but a little bit more up to date. I just loved it and after 3 hours I still feel its comforting and sensual embrace telling me "its me and I'm here to stay".

I just recently discovered a love for the EDP and have been completely perplexed as to why my sampling of the EDT was such a negative experience a while back. It just didn’t add up so off to the perfume counter I went to test the EDT once more to see if there really is such a vast difference. I must have used a tester gone bad in a very old department store under harsh lighting all day before because my experience today with the EDT has been super pleasant. In fact I bought a small bottle on the spot and I am now a very happy owner of both the EDP and EDT! If I had to encompass the EDT in a mood I would say it smells like Halloween time feels to me! Warm and a little mysterious but still very wearable. It’s soft and comforting to me. I just found my new every day scent for this fall. If you’re debating between the two they are both worth having but for different reasons and occasions. You’ll get more mileage out of the EDT but the EDP has its place (albeit I will reserve it for cool fall evenings, special events, or the cold of winter). P.S. I can still smell it on my wrist over 12 hours later, a soft, very light patchouli skin scent (but warm and not dirty/stinky).

Vintage Vibe Amber-Spicy CLOVE-ROSE-SANDALWOOD with Peach, Coriander & Coca-Cola Gummy Bear Accents. In the first minute or so before the spray dries, I can feel the spicy yellow-floral notes with a Coca-Cola gummy bear vibe. Once the spray dries and the sillage starts to open up I get the spicy fruity-florals with a peach-coriander in a swirl of whipped, velvety rose, accented by the fruity nuances of mandarin & jasmine. At this stage I get a blend of Coca-Cola gummy bears & gingerale. As it transitions to the heart, yellow-floral notes start to emerge along with a spicy clove-rose. Orange-blossom is there in the background with some clean-citrus-soapy nuances. In the base there's a sweet & resinous blend with some soft woody tones from sandalwood. Civet saunters through the background adding a vintage twist. Overall I get a vintage amber-spicy clove-rose-sandalwood scent with excellent performance for year-round wear, but the vintage amber-spicy vibe means I would be more likely to wear this in the cooler months. I was in love with this scent in the early 1990s, and it's just a good today. It's a longtime love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

I’m still trying to figure out this fragrance. I just received it and I immediately sprayed it on paper. I don’t love it when I first spray it because it smells like a bathroom spray. However, it chills out in a matter of minutes and as it dries down, it becomes an absolutely gorgeous scent. It’s pretty similar on my skin as it is on paper. After the initial spray, I get a lot of clove, peach, mandarin, and coriander. It mellows out and reminds me of apple cider. I don’t know why, but it does. The mellow spice remains, but it becomes more creamy and slightly floral. The sandalwood and amber come out to play and I adore it. After an hour or so, it’s like fresh laundry in the best possible way. Spicy, amber, and floral is bang on. I can’t stop smelling my wrist. I personally wouldn’t use more than 2 sprays of this, 3-4 max in colder months. It’s strong. This fragrance has a lot going on, I can’t wait to wear it this fall and winter. I can’t say that it’s a safe blind by. I recommend buying a decant first. Update: After more than a year, I bought a full bottle. I love this scent.

I wear CHANEL COCO EDT when I want to carry a wearable memory of my mother with me wherever I go. My mom used to go out ballroom dancing with my father. I remember this well because she would get dolled up and spritz YSL's original Opium, which was actually a gift my father gave her when they were still long-distant penpals. The spicey, resinous, perfumy scent would fill up our little house. Usually, my mon was casually dressed in her every day life (no makeup, baggy clothes). But when she dressed up and wore Opium, she turned into a badass, voluptuous woman. CHANEL COCO is not the same as Opium, but it is brings back this olfactory memory. At this point in my life, I am not woman enough yet to pull off Opium. To me, Opium is like an untouchable goddess. But COCO EDT is close, like a half-mortal daughter of Opium. It is a wonderful, well-blended concoction of cinnamon-like amber, rose, and sweet peach, but it's hard to pick out the individual notes. It makes me feel elegant and sensuous. I wear this to bed and it stays with me through the late morning.

Tried this one on today as I was shopping for my gf and mom. Smelled it on the paper and it was divine, so I decided, what the heck, Ill put it on. All I can say is this is smell is beyond amazing. It is def a unisex fragrance. It is the kind of scent that should be everywhere I go. I want to get this for everyone I am close to, including myself so I can constantly smell this, lol. The fragrance itself tells a story. The clove in this is the main character. The clove sort of dances with all the other notes, one by one. On my skin, the clove is first paired with the rose. It lets the rose shine in the pairing, but the spiciness of the clove is still there. Then it pairs with the mandarin oranges. The clove is prominent, but it lifts the citrus. Then it pairs with the vanilla, and so on and so forth. And it just continues its different pairings. I don't really get a dry down effect like most fragrances. Its purely a dance! I love this fragrance, will be buying most definitely!

I received my first miniature bottle of coco edt as a gift when I was 8 - the classic 80’s recipe. Over the years I treasured it. It was, of course, too strong for me then, but I regularly sniffed it and dabbed a little every now and then, finally using it up properly on nights out in my late twenties. I managed to find a vintage miniature bottle on eBay to replace it with, just so I can sniff it for nostalgia, as (predictably and obviously) the current formulation is not the same. I still have 100ml of the new one, and it is a similar scent, very similar in fact. But it misses that magical something, that strong in your face oomph of the original. And the newer version is more powdery. A bit softer.more feminine really. In fact it smells more vintage than my vintage one! Still spicy and warm but a softer and more powdery version of the classic heavy hitter. I’ll still wear it. And enjoy it. But it won’t be treasured like my vintage miniature.

In 1992, 19-year-old me was enticed by Vanessa Paradis as the black bird in a cage to Coco Edp. It was my first proper perfume, my signature... I used soap & body lotion as well. Buying those left me very broke back then but the experience was priceless. A quarter century and hundreds of fragrances later, I'm still (or even more deeply) in love with her. Coco is sexy, fearless & wise. I personally think this scent suits Mademoiselle Chanel herself more than No.5. I own both Edp & Edt. I enjoy them equally. Edp is more rose-y and resinous. Intensive labdanum makes it sweet & warm. I prefer Edp for cooler days or night time. Edt is lighter, spicier and woodier. Clover ( or carnation?) and opoponax are more obvious. I like wearing it at work / daytime / in warmer days. I live in Wet Tropics and believe me, Coco blooms and glows in warm climate. Most "oriental" scents are from tropical climate. So, I think they smell natural in warm air.

What more can I say... beautiful, timeless, classy, magical masterpiece. Easily knocked out many perfumes off my top 5 list. After all these years, I still can’t pick up all the notes in the EDT. I get whiffs of vanilla, some peach and amber in the dry-down, it’s kind of like you’re learning to cast a spell but only get little sparks of these notes from your wand. Initially, I was anxious to try this because of the animalic notes but don’t let that fool you, it’s more of an imaginary animal than any animal you think you’ll find in this world. The spiciness to this perfume isn’t harsh and doesn’t give away all the warmth of the perfume in the first few hours. It’s definitely a mysterious scent. This perfume makes me so happy and makes me feel so magical. If we lived in the wizarding world, just one spray of this perfume and your patronus would be revealed to you. Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Scent Creativity 10/10 Overall score 9/10

Definitely one of my all time favorites. I purchased my first full bottle this year, a 50mL bottle and will be getting a 100mL bottle just because I can't bare to think of not having some of this beauty on hand. Intensive peach, clove & sandalwood fragrance. lasts roughly 7-8 hours on my skin, which most fragrances of any brand or quality is yet to do for me. A keeper, a true legend. It doesn't exactly remind me of anyone I know and I rarely smell it on other people. It does, however, definitely remind me of the 80s. A beautiful woman with a lot of make up, all dressed in loud reds/ blacks/ greens. An evolutionary Chanel fragrance for a person with a purpose. I'm a 21 year old male who prefers the more mature fragrances. This definitely isn't what i would consider to be an 'old person' scent, I reserve that term for 'Georgio Beverly Hills' (which I also love) Scent 10/10 Longevity 9.5/10 Sillage 8/10 Individuality 10/10

I have been on a Chanel journey lately. I never really gravitated toward original Coco but the reviews had me at the Chanel counter to give it a test. People you just have to give a Chanel time to meld with your chemistry to see what unfolds. This may make some long time lovers of Coco gasp but here goes. For ME (and it’s all subjective of course) this is the perfume equivalent of a pumpkin spice latte. Too spicy. Too much. It’s a clove bomb. I found it absolutely cloying and vigorously scrubbed to remove what I could. It’s still there. It has staying power I will give it that. The reviewer before me nailed it with the comment about the candle as well. Yankee Candle Pumpkin spice to be exact. Test before you buy. Please. I think this is a very polarizing fragrance. You either love it or hate it. Edit 9/21: I think I got an old tester that had gone off. My most recent experience was much better!

Hands down my favourite of all the classic Chanel perfumes. COCO has this coriander note that dates it a bit (similarly to Dior's Poison), but it has old money luxurious feel and I'm here for it! Also, the composition is quite masculine and it mixes well with dark suits and tuxedos. Chanel blends perfumes very well, it's what they always deliver on and the projection and the longevity are great across the board. COCO is far from a linear drydown. It's a spicy-flowery bitter masterpiece resting on soft musks and warm vanillic, resinous base. I love the bottles of both, ETP and EDT but the EDT is a bit more masculine, just like the boyish costumes Gabrielle revolutionised women's wardrobes with. A very serious scent for charismatic men and women that understand how to incorporate elegance and avant garde. 9/10

Coco EDT is my "go" scent at any season for day and evening activities. People tell me that ́s dificult to carry this perfume. I would agree with this opinion, relating to EDP, because the animalic notes (Civet) in this one are really heavy. I can not wear it on spring/summer during the day light, for example. But EDT is another story. This Version is more gentle than the EDP, without losing its potency and "core DNA". The animalic notes in the EDT are reduced to a minimum Level. The stars here are the ambery spices enveloped by a honey rose. It ́s sweeter, more versatile and modern than the EDP, carrying still the same class, exuberance and opulence. It ́s impressive how I receive so many compliments, when I wear it. Coco is definitely a strong scent that empowers a Woman! MASTERPIECE from Chanel!

This was my first love. I couldn't afford the EDP which I heard was better, but this suited the Autumnal weather I was facing. Whenever I felt down, sad or depressed, this helped. It was warm, sensual and relaxing. A Chinese sales assistant mentioned that it smells of a Buddhist temple which she didnt like. To me, it smells of strength. Whether you be a man, woman or child. When I went to Chanel in my youth, they gave me 5 4mL minis to take home with me when I tested it. They thought it was so cute. I nursed those bottles, but never wore them. It was magical. It's a clove, peach & cinammon love affair. Perfect, to me, for any weather. It's as close to a signature scent as I'll ever get. I truly love it, and the bottle. Elegance.

Coco EDT used to be my signature scent from 1989 onwards for years. Vintage is the way to go, as it lasts much longer than the newer reform (although the newer EDT smells very similar to the older EDT; whereas the newer EDP is like an entirely different fragrance from the vintage EDP!) But I digress... I love spraying my hair with my perfumes, as the scent lasts and lasts and does not dry out my hair. Try it, if you are ever disappointed with how quickly your perfumes disappear on your skin. This one is the absolute perfect blend of clove, rose, and amber. The sandalwood shines in the middle with just a hint of creamy peach. Totally fits the holiday season with its rich spicy depth and sillage.

I can't add much to these reviews except for a tip: This fragrance seems like one that's mainly for evenings or cool weather, but do also try it on hot sultry days because... I had a lovely and surprising experience of doing this with Coco EDT this past Summer. It was delicious in the humid heat, which I had not expected at all. The clove phase burnt off sooner, leaving a strong, sweet, tasteful and very long-lasting scent. Now that it's Winter where I live, I find myself less attracted to using Coco, as I miss that effect! Suddenly it feels like a more serious fragrance, with the sweetness not evolving in quite the same way. So give it a try, northern hemisphere and equatorial folk :).

Coco edT is a BIG love for me. I also have Coco edP and Coco Noir, and surprisingly the edT lasts longer on my skin and clothes! Coco edT is warm, spicy and very delicious. The rose, cloves, balsam, creamed sandalwood and myrrh are so magical together. This is VERY unisex. The spices make this scent equally good on a man, and somehow for an edT, this lasts & lasts on my skin. My skin, sadly, eats scents! Not exaggerating, most scents (even some powerhouses) are skin scents for me in an hour or less. Coco edT goes for hours on me. I can also smell it on myself, which is also rare for me. I cannot recommend Coco edT enough! If you are deciding between the edP and edT...100% edT :)

I think Coco is such fond fragrance memory for those in the 80's and 90's. The music, fashion, make up, and fragrances were "Statements" of who you were. I wish I could afford a bottle of the Original Coco, but I may splash out one day and pay the $30 NZD and get a 5ml (0.149 fluid ounces) decant. But I find myself being a tad annoyed, you don't know what you're buying, is it a knock off? Is their hygiene with decanting good enough? Then the price hike for a precious 5ml is a bit stiff! But one thing I do know is this fragrance is imprinted on my memory and I subconsciously compare other fragrances to it, and I'm always searching for that unique smell. It really is timeless!

I'm a little late to the party, but I think I'm in love! Soft, warm spice that's (as nero77 said) a little more wearable than Opium, which was simply too overwhelming for me. This one is so elegant, so delicate. Where have I been all this time? It's a masterpiece. EDIT: I just tried the EDT again on one arm while I tried the EDP on the other. I'm really surprised to see how different they are, not just "lighter" vs. "heavier." Yes, the EDT is lighter, but I also detect much more spice in it than in the current EDP. The notes are harder to differentiate in the EDP--I get the florals not the spices. Very interesting. I went with a bottle of the EDT--just beautiful!

I remember trying the parfum years ago from a Chanel collector friend, but I don't recall ever having sprayed this EDT. It's fantastic though. Despite the peachy aldehyde, honied, musk fuzz this fragrance is inherently wearable for a man, well this man anyway, perhaps moreso than the parfum? (memory is vague) Base is clean but deep, meaningful, real, chic all that good Polge stuff. UPDATE: I bought it. Coco EDT is amazing. This is not a pretty perfume in the sense that it so easily could/should be. It’s quintessentially Chanel, and certainly feminine, but on me it gives so much from fruity apricot juice, to edible vanilla/tonka and powder, suede leather.

I fell in love with this one about 6 years ago and my mom just gifted me this beauty , my skin oils definitely love amber, vanilla scents and I feel so fulfilled when wearing this , my clothes smell for days and it’s such a beautiful sophisticated fragrance, I used to think this was for elder ladies until this beautiful woman walked in the elevator and I asked her what she was wearing and she said Coco , she said give it a try , spray it and you’ll see the beautiful notes that develop in your skin and she was right , however I purchased Coco Noir first as I needed to warm up to this one , now I have my own bottle and I think it’s the perfect timing ❤️

For me, Coco is the ultimate Perfume. The first time I sprayed it my husband from the other room asked: "Why does it smell like a LADY is here?" I feel like this describes the scent perfectly. This is what a lady would smell like. Pure, deep, confident, refined. No harsh edges, everything blended into perfection. It is not a skin scent, it smells like perfume. The color of the liquid is descriptive of the scent, it is light orange, lightly spicy, it is the perfect finishing touch to an elegant dress and beautiful necklace. She is quiet but bold. The spices are golden and hushed. The scent is a comforting bubble where you know exactly who you are.

I don't even know what to say about this beauty. I bought the EDT because the EDP is too strong for me. On first spray, I get a strong rose/floral but that settles quickly into - geez how do I describe? - warm spicy, peachy, vanilla goodness. It's a complicated scent with no note outdoing the other. At times I get apple cider spicy cinnamon tonka bean loveliness. I don't know. The first time I wore this i was overwhelmed by cloves, but the second time I could not stop smelling my skin. This is heaven! I love the dry down. This warms up on the skin so nicely. This is sexy and cozy at the same time. And it lasts forever on me. Love!

Coco EDT opens sharply spicy and boldly floral. It's unapologetically intense, with a really captivating cold/warm duality at its core: the composition radiates a tightly-manicured sense of cool , yet is unmistakably smoldering in its intensity. After the dry down Coco softens gradually, growing powdery, softly-woody, and vanillic as the assertive sharpness of the opening ebbs. The Vibe: She's pragmatic, somewhat aromantic, but passionate about her career. She's assertive in the streets and in the sheets, but she's soft in the mornings on her days off; drinking expensive spiced oolong in bed while doing the NYT crossword.

I have this in a splash bottle, so I'm assuming it's from the 80's. This is absolutely stunning. It is a warm comforting scent. There's so many notes in this fragrance that I adore: sandalwood, opoponax, amber, vanilla, tonka bean, labdanum, cloves, and so on. This is a spicy oriental scent. I put a dab on my chest under my neck, and on my wrists, and I am good for the day. The lasting power of this bottle is insane. If it goes on my clothes I can smell it for days. I get so many compliments wearing it. It's very unisex. I would say the EDT is slightly more floral than the EDP, and they are different enough to own both.

batch code 8401 , 2014 oooooh smooth , beautiful , warm, lots of amber and spices but a lovely honey and woody vibe, with powdery flowers. oh so chanel , and not dated at all just beautiful. nero77 said this is like an oriental no 5 , i agree its got a stunning cosy feel that is perfect for winter or evenings. this is a must try and if you love your chanel perfumes as i do it has to be part of the collection. chanel are in their own league, no one can touch them, maybe dior come close but for me there is something about the way chanel make a perfume that has me swooning. easily, 11/10

Coco Eau de Toilette is Fabulous. Warm, balsamic and intimate if it is not oversprayed. It is a lovely choice for winter or at Christmas time at night, or even in a hot summer if worn in cool in air conditioning. Whenever I go back to this I wonder why it took me so long. Coco EDT is not dissimilar to Estée Lauder’s SPELLBOUND, but a superior fragrance in my humble opinion (I own both). If you are new to the fragrance world and don’t want to smell like the rest of the crowd, try Coco EDT, even IT isn’t new to the fragrance world.

Yep! She’s still my number one winter frag! This will be my second winter of enjoying Coco and my second review of this lovely. This is my spicy little number that warms and comforts me throughout my day. I can’t imagine ever being without so keep two bottles! One 50ml and a 100ml. The 50 I sometimes take in my handbag for travelling. She entices me and I like to smell her lingering on my scarves, in the cool months. A clove, orange, mandarin, spicy, rosy beauty, a mix that has a bit of an assertive edge! A masterpiece for sure!

This is my absolute love without any reservations and buts. It is classy, warm, spicy, resinous and a bit soapy, it is sweet but not sugary sweet. I would say it is in the same vein as the original Opium, but somehow I feel more comfortable in Coco, whereas in Opium I feel like I stand out, not in a bad sense, just more noticeable. I was complimented on the perfume: "this is what a woman should smell like." I much prefer the EDT version to EDP, as it is less soapy and not as light. EDT is more grounded. EDT is my home.

It’s been a long time! But she popped into my head.. reminding me of college nights and wanting to be so cool dark artsy alt/goth kinda chick (I was a mix back then in 90)! The biggest thing I have to say? This? Is the better one NOT mademoiselle! Nor even Noir! This and the coco edp. But I’ve had both, and you really don’t even need it! For an edt, this is amazing! I’m not a super floral gal, so cloves spices save me! But there’s something soo edgey about this! It’s a love and will definitely be finding some more

Wearing an EDT from c.2010 and it's wonderful. Such a shame Chanel changed this one, so I had to shift to the current EDP. This EDT, the good old stuff, is worth hunting down. Much more rounded, deeper and longer lasting than today's version. This one leaves a long trail behind it and the whole house is Coco. If Houses weren't so secretive, I'd like to know why these decisions are made, I don't see anyone repainting the Mona Lisa with different colours. Changing this formula was about the same thing, in my eyes x

I've been really into velvety things and chanel lately. This is the most velvety scent I've found. So, here I am ticking both boxes at once. I grabbed a vintage. 80s aesthetic for sure, but the part of the 80s that's not meant to be trendy. Just opulent and warm. In that way, I don't find it dated but timeless. This is the right amount of peach for me where Allure puts me too far. I'll be over here pretending to be a fancier bitch than I am for the rest of the day should anyone need me.

i have tried it today in sephora and then directly entered another shop where the attendant told me the scent is too heavy, but it was within 15 mins i spreyed it. now 2 hours has passed . it is a deep, clean, spicy and very comfortable scent. i may buy it :) edit: wow i love love this, it has grown on me during the day. it absolutely is timeless. i will get myself one during black friday lol. or if you have a vintage bottle that you wanna get rid of, please inbox me.

this is one of the most transporting and beautiful scents ever. it's so heady and strong and captures attention. it's self assured as hell...and womanly. my mum has worn this for many, many years and my gramps used to buy her a bottle every christmas. she wears it particularly when she is dressed up - so i associate it with confident women. i don't know how to describe the notes as nothing quite shouts out - every part of it seems to just meld into one perfectly

This scent reminds me of my mother, since she always wore this before leaving to go to work, to dinner parties, etc. It's comforting, cozy, sensual, and at the same time gives confidence to the wearer. I decided to purchase the EDT for myself, and the scent brings so many good memories and comfort. On my skin, I can definitely pick out the cloves, as well as the mix of roses, which all notes together make this scent so gorgeous and lovely.

I’m so happy I finally bought it even though I intended to wait for the colder seasons. It’s warm and sunny right now where I live and Coco edt is beautiful on sun-warmed skin (I wear just one spray). I read many rewiews saying it’s elegant and serious but to me it’s mostly comforting and I feel like a teddybear wearing it. The dry-down lasts forever and is sheer and beautiful. I owned the Edp a long time ago but it wasn’t for me.

I have tried the Edp a few years ago. It wasn't for me at the time, although I liked it. I would have never guessed that I could be impressed by the Edt. I just gave it a try and fell in love instantly. I feel empowered, special and self-assured when I wear it. I think my favourite Chanel: beauty, elegance and class in a simple shaped bottle. Floral, warm spicy with a fresh edge. Pretencious without being loud - perfect!

In the first 10 minutes, I get clove and spices which is really lovely, then I get a Mandarin orange, mimosa and jasmine. On my skin, Coco Eau de Toilette turns into a juicy ripe Mandarin orange with a sprinkle of jasmine. I could honestly say this fragrance is beautiful, glorious, and scintillating. I would love to recommend Coco Eau de Toilette for girls and women who want something glorious and a little bit iconic.

Beautifully bright and warm iteration of Coco EDP. Bright & peachy roses, sweet cloves, settles into a warm and cuddly sandalwood & opoponax accord. This is Coco in the daytime, seductive darkness made cheerfully light, a bit effervescent. Lasts ages, I always get 10-12+ hrs when I wear this. Best suited in cool/cold weather, love wearing this when it's sunny and bright because it suits the fragrance's mood perfectly.
